    Please tell me why you are resetting the pool. The reason may have something
    to do with the failure messages below. The root cause of these messages is
    that the pool is trying to make a new JDBC connection to Sybase, in exactly
    the same way it does all the time, but for whatever reason, the DBMS is
    refusing the connection request. The pool should be OK anyway, ongoing,
    as long as/when the DBMS is back up and accepting connection requests.

  • EJB call across server instance with multiple Datasource

    Hi,
              I posted in the EJB group and was told people here will be able to help.
              I'm currently facing a serious integration problem. The problem occurs when an EJB in my application (my instance) tries to call another EJB in a separate application (in another instance). Hope someone can help me to overcome this.
              My setup is WLS 8.1 SP2 (1 domain, 2 instances) with Oracle 9i.
              The scenario is as follows:
              EJB A (tx required) in instance A calls EJB B (tx required) in instance B.
              EJB A uses datasource A in instance A to update database A and EJB B uses datasource B in instance B to update database B.
              When I tried with both datasources using non-XA driver and both using XA driver the result is the same, EJB A executes fine and can successfully invoke the method on EJB B. But when EJB B tries to lookup the datasource B, it goes to instance A to do that and of course fails to find it.
              It only works when I create and deploy datasource B (XA) to instance A as well, meaning I now have datasources A and B in instance A.
              It all works well when I use a servlet(e.g.) in instance A to call EJB B. Leading me to suspect that the error could be due to some problems or behaviour which I may have missed out during the propagation of the transaction or the EJB context.
              This behaviour seems very illogical, can someone please enlighten me. Any help will be very much appreciated.
              Thanks,
              Kelvin

  • JRC bug: apostrophe in string parameter passed to Crystal Report with Command datasource to SQL Server

    Post Author: nl11087
    CA Forum: JAVA
    A single quote/apostrophe in string parameter passed to a Crystal Report with Command datasource connecting to a SQL Server database, using sqljdbc driver does not escape the special character correctly. When doing a preview in the Crystal Reports IDE it allows you to escape the input parameter as expected and work correctly, but through the JRC component it fails. For string parameters without special sql server characters I experience no problems at all. When replacing the Command with a direct table there is also no problem.
    Reproduction:
    1. create a database db1, create a table table1 with a String type column col1.
    2. Create new report Report1.rpt, create a connection to above, Add Command using 'SELECT col1, col2, col3 FROM table1 WHERE col1 = '{?Par1}' . Add a parameter field Par1 : String
    3. In your java stand alone application using JRC add the parameter Par1 with a value "Jon Doe's Value" containing a single apostrophe. Export to PDF. (I also tried MSWord and this failed too, similar behavior). Additionally, in another test try to replaceAll("'","''") to escape it, preventing the code to break, but now it does not retrieve the expected row anymore and you end up with an empty report.

  • WL 8.1 BEA-101083 error when submitting a form using javascript (IE only)

    Hello,
    I have a JSP page that is submitting a form with javascript document.form.submit()
    after checking the validity of form element values, but I randomly get a BEA-101083
    error. The jsp page has worked fine for several year in IPlanet, and Sun One
    7 application server, but when ported over to WebLogic 8.1 SP2 the error manifests
    itself. Basically, when user submits the form, the next page is displayed with
    null values, and soon after the following stack trace appears in the server log.
    This error only occurs when the client browser is IE, Netscape works fine.
    Thanks,

    Checkboxes only submit a value when they are "on"
    They submit nothing if they are not selected.
    The problem comes - do you interpret no checkbox values as "clear all values" or "leave the values alone"? Struts assumes the latter.
    Your form is probably being kept in session?
    Try implementing the reset() method of your action form and set its property to be equivalent to no checkboxes selected.

    Hey @The_assface!
    I check again my domain -> security -> embeded ldap config and in fact the option "Master First" was unchecked (as default). When you suggested check this option on your last reply, I didn't pay attention and the option checked was the "Refresh Replica At Startup" (and not "Master First" as you pointed). By default both option is unchecked. My intention checking "Refresh Replica At Startup" was to force managed server get a fresh copy of master embedded ldap (hold by Admin server). But this didn't works in my scenario.
    Now I unchecked "Refresh Replica At Startup" and checked "Master First". Then I restart Admin server and a managed server and until now the error do not occurs any more.
    Your suggestion works, but one question remains: Why managed servers' embedded ldap (replica) got corrupted after adding a XACML policy manually?
    Many thanks!

  • Error Finding JNDI name (DataSource Name)

    Need help on "Error Finding JNDI name (DataSource Name).
    The following are the details of my Java Swing Program.
    Database used : IBM DB2 V7.2
    Report Tool : Crystal Report 11
    DataSource used: ODBC
    I have a java swing program which calls an Crystal report viewer, to display the selected report. The program is able to display the report (.rpt file) in the java Crystal report viewer which is saved with data.
    However when the report is refreshed from the viewer the program throws an error "Error Finding JNDI name (DataSource Name)".
    i am using the following Crystal Java Reporting Component (JRC) imports.
    import com.crystaldecisions.reports.sdk.*;
    import com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.lib.*;
    import com.crystaldecisions.ReportViewer.*;
    import com.crystaldecisions.reports.reportengineinterface.*;
    Also i have configured the CRConfig.xml for JDBC connection as,
    <JDBCURL>jdbc:db2:DataSource Name</JDBCURL>
    <JDBCClassName>COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.app.DB2Driver</JDBCClassName>
    <JDBCUserName>user name</JDBCUserName>

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply!
    Yes, I used ADO.net in the designer.
    The strange thing is that it works fine if I redo the report from scratch by using ADO.net (same XML-file as source as in the old report) and then the same query that didn't work for the "old report". Well on the other hand the new report is not yet as complex as the old one, it has no subreports yet like the old one had.
    I'll try using the other XML source tomorrow as you said, and check if I can get the old report to work properly.
    The old report has an XML-file as datasource(ADO.net) and all data is in subreports. Every subreport has the same datasource as the main report.
    The reason is that when I first start to create a report Crystal Reports asks for a datasource and I filled that in. Then I realized that the reports should be made up of subreports, and when I created the subreports Crystal again asked for a datasource (I thought it could use the datasource from the mainreport).
    Best regards,
    Sebastian

    try to not split the attributes in server.xml
    use them like
    <Context path="/myPath" docBase="myDocBase" debug="5" reloadable="true" crossContext="true" source="org.eclipse.jst.j2ee.server:myDocBase">
                          <Resource name="jdbc/myDB"

                                                     maxWait="10000"
                                                     username="$$$"

                                                     url="jdbc:mysql://localhost/myTest" />

  • Lightroom 3 Error Working With Photos That Work With Other Apps

    My Setup:
    Lightroom 3.3 for Mac
    iMac OS X 10.6.6
    The problem:
    Lightroom is unable to work with photos it used to be able to work with. In the Library Module I get the error message "There was an error working with the photo." In the Develop Module I get the message "The file appears to be unsupported or damaged."
    Now I know the photos are ok because I can view them in other apps including Photoshop CS5
    And these photos used to work in Lightroom.
    I am suspicious it has something to do with Picasa, which I use to catalog faces. I have compared the exif data and the photos that don't work have an extra value called "Image Unique Id" and it appears to be a long hexadecimal number.  Also, the software version has been modified to indicate "Picasa".
    It bothers me that a world class product like LIghtroom is not robust enough to work on these files when everything else I have tried does work.  The problem is LIghtroom is the primary tool in my workflow.
    So has anybody seen this and know of a way to fix it?

    @Pete -
    Thanks for the feedback, but my I think my concern is valid.  Whatever Picasa is doing to the photo other apps like Apple Preview and CS5 can deal with it.  Lightroom cannot.  I am not explicitly modifying the files in Picasa just using Picasa to catalogue the faces.  So yes, I will quit using Picasa, but I still have hundreds (if not thousands) of photos that can no longer be processed by Lightroom and I need guidance on how to best recover these photos.
    I didn't know whether the Image Unique Id is standard or not, but I do know it does not show up in the files that work, only in the files that do not work.  I just assumed that it was non-standard because I did not see it on functioning files.
    Also, I would argue that Lightroom should be better able to handle this kind of situation instead of just not working.  Thanks again.

    I have tried to uninstall all Abode Acrobat installations but one file remains and refuses to be uninstalled. It gives me this error : Error applying Transforms . Verify that specified paths are valid. It was installed on Sept 18 2014.  I have downloaded a Transform update but it tells I do not have a Adobe Acrobat product installed.

    Hi all,
    Sylonious, did you manage to sort this problem out? I have been experiencing similar problems. I think my problem was because I had many different versions of JDKs. I have done a complete re-install. I would be really grateful to you (and anyone else) for help with this problem.
    I have re-installed JSDK1.4.2_03, set the "path" variable to "C:\JSDK1.4.2_03".
    When I compile using "javac" I get an error saying "javac" is not recognised.
    When I compile using "C:\j2sdk1.4.2_03\bin\javac Freq.java" no error is thrown.
    Every time I try to run a java file, I always get the NoClassDefFound error. When run with the -verbose option, files are loaded from C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_03\bin - is this correct?
    I have removed all previous references to java in the registry editor.
    Please help !
    Regards,
    Vipul
