Best method for initial upload data into CRM

Hey guys,
could someone tell me what is the best and fastest method to upload a mass of data (11 mio. BPs) to CRM? Now i am not sure. I thought you have to do that through the CRM middleware. Now i read you can do this also via IDOC. Which method should i use to do this? What about LSMW?
    regards,
       Ming

Hello Ming,
Could you tell us where is the Mass Data of BP located?
Are you trying to upload the data from R/3 to CRM? or from legacy systems?
If its from legacy or non-R/3 systems then LSMW is the best approach.
But if its from R/3 to CRM, then better approach would be via MW since once initial load is performed using txn:R3AS,
subsequent delta changes would flow down automatically to CRM.
Hope this helps!
Best Regards,
Shanthala Kudva.

  • How to upload data into CRM using batch job

    Hello,
I got some problem and need some hints.
I am uploading data from a flat text file (product data) into CRM using thefunction module GUI_UPLOAD. My program starts with a selection screen whereI enter the path and the filename of the program, then I click start, and
the data is transferred in CRM. This works perfect, and I can automaticallycreate service products in CRM.
    Here comes the PROB:
But now I want to automize this procedure using a batch job that automatically picks up the file from the server and processes it automatically without any user interaction. BUT I always get an error saying that my function module GUI_UPLOAD can't run in batch mode. So
anyone has an idea how to do this? Any other function modules that can run in batch mode? Any other ideas?
Thx very much for ur help on this.

    Hi Bill,
GUI_UPLOAD, like the name says, uses the SAPGUI to upload the data to theserver.. and in a batch job, you don't have the connection to a SAPGUI.
So you should use following kind of coding:
    DATA MSG(100).
OPEN DATASET "FILENAM" FOR INPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT MESSAGE
    MSG.
    IF sy-subrc = 0.
    DO.
READ DATASET "FILENAM" INTO [Your internal table].
    IF sy-subrc <> 0.
    EXIT.
    ENDIF.
    APPEND [Your internal table]P_DATA.
    ENDDO.
    ENDIF.
The file should then be available on the server.

  • Best Practice for Initial Load Data

    Dear Experts,
I would like to know the best practices or factors to be concerned when performing initial load
    For example,
    1) requirement from business stakeholders for data analysis
    2) age of data to meet tactical reproting
    3) data dependency crossing sap  modules
    4) Is there any best practice for loading master data?

  • Best method to load XML data into Oracle

    Hi,
I have to load XML data into Oracle tables. I tried using different options and have run into a dead end in each of those. I do not have knowledge of java and hence have restricted myself to PL/SQL solutions. I tried the following options.
    1. Using DBMS_XMLSave package : Expects the ROWSET and ROW tags. Connot change format of the incoming XML file (Gives error oracle.xml.sql.OracleXMLSQLException: Start of root element expected).
    2. Using the XMLPARSER and XMLDOM PL/SQL APIs : Works fine for small files. Run into memory problems for large files (Gives error java.lang.OutOfMemoryError). Have tried increasing the JAVA_POOL_SIZE but does not work. I am not sure whether I am changing the correct parameter.
I have read that the SAX API does not hog memory resources since it does not build the entire DOM tree structure. But the problem is that it does not have a PL/SQL implementation.
Can anyone PLEASE guide me in the right direction, as to the best way to achieve this through PL/SQL ??? I have not designed the tables so am flexible on using purely relational or object-relational design. Although would prefer to keep a purely relational design. (Had tried used object-relational for 1. and purely relational for 2. above)
The XML files are in the following format, (EXAMINEEs with single DEMOGRAPHIC and multiple TESTs)
    <?xml version="1.0"?>

    </Root_Element>
    Thanks for the help.

Please refer to the XSU(XML SQL Utility) or TransX Utility(for Multi-language Document) if you want to load data in XML format into database.
Both of them require special XML formats, please first refer to the following docs:
    http://otn.oracle.com/docs/tech/xml/xdk_java/doc_library/Production9i/doc/java/xsu/xsu_userguide.html
    http://otn.oracle.com/docs/tech/xml/xdk_java/doc_library/Production9i/doc/java/transx/readme.html
You can use XSLT to transform your document to the required format.
If you document is large, you can use SAX method to insert data into database. But you need to write the code.
The following sample may be useful:

  • What is the best method for controlling a data switch of 20x20 ports, with local and remote requests?

I'm using booleon control boxes for 'source' ports - to be connected to 'customers' ports. Am not sure of choosing between arrays, clusters, case, etc.

Thanks, however, I simply meant my boolean 'ports' to mean a 'yes/no' control box of a 'data source', which, when selected, would signify a 'source' that could then be connected to a 'customer' port or 'receiving box'. Perhaps instead of port, I should have said input/output box.
My main question is simply about a data switch matrix of 20 inputs and 20 outputs. Should I attempt to manage the switching of data lines via cases, for loops, sequence, or what! I believe I will need to set up arrays, but controlling the matrix is ???. Thanks.

  • What is the best method for writing Multicolumn List data to a text file?

I am trying to find the best method for writing the data from a multicolumn list to a text file. Say the list has 7 rows and 6 columns of data. I would like the final file to have the data resemble the Multicolumn List as closely as possible with or without column headers. A sample VI showing how to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated. I realize this is pretty basic stuff, but I can get the output to the file, but it comes out with duplicate data and I am on a time crunch hense my request for help.
    Thank You,

  • Best method for UIComponent Initialization?

I have a custom class that extends Panel and I would like to
get input on the best method for initializing custom properties
upon object creation. I currently create an event handler for the
FlexEvent.CREATION_COMPLETE event and assign my properties then.
However, I'd like to slim my code down. Is there a place I
can initialize properties without having to import events? I tried
overriding some protected methods such as commitProperties, but
discovered this method gets called again by Flex when effects are
done playing on the UIComponent. I don't want to initialize my
custom parameters again because this is essentially reseting any
interaction the user did with it.
Is there another super method I can use to initialize my
method rather than use CREATION_COMPLETE events?
    Thanks.

The simplest and cheapest option is LifeFlix.  They have more info at www.lifeflix.com or on the Mac app store at https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/lifeflix/id630212114?ls=1&mt=12

  • Best method for plotting data array?

I am reading data from a Delta Motion controller and writing that data to an array in my vb.NET program.  The data is not time stamped but I know what the sampling interval is (0.001s).  I want to take that data and plot it on my Waveform Graph.  What is the best method for doing this?  I'm sure this is simple, but I'm new to MS and LV.
Private Sub btnRampUpA_Click(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles btnRampUpA.Click
Dim Axis0ActualPrsData() As Single = New Single(4096) {} 'Create array for data from the RMC controller to be read into
    Dim Axis0Actual() As AnalogWaveform(Of Single)
If RMC.IsConnected(PingType.Ping) = True Then 'Check to make sure comms to RMC is good before trying to read data from it
    Try
    RMC.ReadFFile(FileNumber150.fn150Plot0StaticUA0, 112, Axis0ActualPrsData, 0, 4095) 'read the plot data where sample period = 0.001
    Catch ex As ReadWriteFailedException
MessageBox.Show("Unable to read plot data from the RMC. " & ex.Message)
    End Try
    End If
    End Sub
    Thank you

PlotYAppend appears to be the answer according to the white page, although I don't have it working as of yet.  Can someone confirm?

  • While uploading data into the r/3 using call transaction or session method

    hi experts
while uploading data into the r/3 using call transaction or session method error occured in the middle of the processing then how these methods behaves it transfers next records or not?

    hai
Session method: The records are not added to the database until the session is processed. sy-subrc is not returned. Error logs are created for error records. Updation in database table is always Synchronous.
Call Transaction method: The records are immediately added to the database table. sy-subrc is returned to 0 if successful. Error logs are not created and hence the errors need to be handled explicitly. Updation in database table is either Synchronous or Asynchronous.
While to transfer the data from the through if any errors occurs until the errors are the complete the data is not transfer to the SAP system.
the system compulsory shows the errors. that errors are stored into the error logs (Transaction is SM35).
so the session method should not return any value.
In call transaction method data is directly pass to the SAP system.
So its compulsory return the value.
Because of the call transaction is the function.
A function should return the value mandatory
In session method errors stroed in SYSTEM GENRATED ERROR LOG.
IN CALL TRANSACTION TO CAPTURE THE ERRORS WE SHOULD PERFORM THE FOLLOWING.
FIRST ME MUST DECLARE AN INTERNAL TABLE WITH THE STRUCTURE OF BDCMSGCOLL TABLE.
THEN WHILE WRITING THE CALL TRANSACTION STATEMENT WE SHOULD PUT THE 'E' MODE FOR CAPTURING ALL THE ERRORS.
THEN FINALLY THE CAPTURED ERRORS MUST TO SENT TO THE INTERNAL TABLE WHICH WE DECLARED IN THE BEGINNING WITH BDCMSGCOLL BY USING THE FUNCTION MODULE "FORMAT_MESSAGE"
AND THUS THE ERROR MESSAGES WILL BE SENT TO THE INTERNAL TABLE WHICH WE DECLARED AT THE BEGINNING.

  • Best practices for initial data loads to MDM

    Hi,
We need to load more than 300000 vendors from SAP into MDM production repository. Import server might take days to load that much if no error occurs.
Are there any best practices for initial loads to MDM available? What considerations must be made while doing the initial loads.
    Harsha

    Hello Harsh
With SP05 patch1 there is a file aggregation functionality in the import port. Is is supposed to optimize the import performance.
BTW, give me your mail address and I will send you an idoc packaging paper for MDM.

  • Best method for refreshing a component's data?

What's better when you want to refresh the content of an object? Should you just replace your JComponent with an entirely new one, or should you try to get access to the data and then remove the items and then re-add them.
In my example, I have a JTree and am not sure which would be the best method to use. Should I try to remove all the nodes, or sometimes I think it would be easier to just remove the tree component from my panel, create a new tree and re-populate it?
    Thanks for any advice.

I'm not quite sure what would be the best method for this.  My client is using a 4x3 screen and SD projector at a large meeting, and they want me to just create a DVD that is letterboxed.  I have one Premiere CS5 project that's 1920x1080, and another project that's 720x480 widescreen (1.2).  I created a new sequence in both projects that is 720x480, 4x3 (0.9), and what I do is just scale the timeline down so that it's letterboxed.  Is this the best method for achieving this?  Or would you do something else?  I don't like the idea of scaling my timeline down in Premiere.
    Hello.
As Jim so rightly points out above, you do not need to do anything.
Just use your normal 16:9 widescreen footage, and author as normal.
Your player will letterbox automatically when it is connected to a 4:3 screen in setup (just make sure "Pan & Scan" is not also there)

  • Best Practices for Initial Setup

Hi, I'm going to be helping a friend setup his new Time Capsule and Airport Express for his home network. I've been following some of the threads here about the nightmare problems some people are having with speed, connectivity, reliability, etc.
So I was thinking it might be helpful to have a list of steps to take among setting up that might avoid some pitfalls. Feel free to add stuff not mentioned.
    1) Should firmware be updated first? What is current version?
    2) Would doing a '7-Pass Erase' on the TC first potentially avoid some issues (seems like this has helped some folks)?
    3) If you plan on storing other data on the TC yourself (not a TM backup), do you need to partition the drive first? What is the best method for this? Would this have any potential on slowing TM backups?
    4) What is best method for determining best channel to set TC to? (ie, are there ways to test?)
    5) Should you perform initial TM backups from each computer over ethernet before attempting wireless?
    6) What tools are there to accurately check your wifi and/or file transfer performance? Are there listed standards that a good working TC 'should' be to compare against.
THANKS in advance. I'm trying to help them avoid some of the pitfalls people have encountered. Hopefully this can help others as well.

    1) I would update first Airport Utility is 5.3.2 and firmware 7.3.2
    2) not needed is over kill
    3) partition is a waste of valuable space, Airport Utility is not going to do that; you'll need to pull the drive and do it then you'll run into unusual problem over the long term.
    4) jump by at least 6

  • Query on uploading data into infotype

    Hi,
I am in search of a method to upload data into infotypes  IT0001,HRP1001.
I have serached and found we can do it using BDC,LSMW and through Hr_INOFYTPE_OPERATION--fm.
But in my flat file am having pernr ,begda, endda and supervisor..
Some of my searches said if i had a pernr in flat file its impossible to do with HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION.
CAN ANYONE PLS SUGGEST ME THE BEST WAY TO DO?
    Thanks

    Hi Salini
Using BDC or LSMW might lead to some inconsistencies.
Uploading of various infotype data depends upon its volume.
There is a FM: HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA through which you can upload the data. But this does for one record at a time. So the performance gets affected at times. Before calling this FM each time, clear the buffer using the FM:  'HR_PSBUFFER_INITIALIZE'. This will be of great help.
Incase you want to upload all your data at once, you can use BAPI_HRMASTER_SAVE_REPL_MULT.
Let me know incase you need any help in any of these.
    Regards
    Harsh
