Best practice followed on CONTRACT

Hello All
What are the best practice needs to be followed on changing the material data information ,
Step 1. created a contract for Material and PO released agains contract. later some times.
Step 2:- material master changes some important piece of data like order Unit/ Deletion or material group changes on MATERIAL.
step 3:- We do the same for the  materials in the contract and deactivate the w.r.t line and create a new line item so that my new line item picks up from material master.
What are the other incidents material master team may do on material master so that i can inform the contract team to do the same.
What are the actions material master team may do on MATERIAL and which is relavant for contract data.so that i can alert CONTRACT and MATERIAL master team. so that communication will be seemless.so that every thing perfect and sync.

    Thanks Peter .
it is happening only in SRM right.
Is any work around for this issue.
In future SRM any planing to take care of this.
in ECC i can delete the user whenever the user moves .
All SRM customers will be very happy if SRM gives some workaround for this issue.
Every customer wants to reduce cost .
How can I find what are the opening documents for this user in one shot ?
    thanks for answering this question.
I have seen our Eden Kelly report helps for shopping cart and other BO.
You are doing good job on our SRM  WIKI innovative topics and discussons. I appreciate.
why i am raising this concern is that one user left the organisation and again we want to edit the data whch entered by the left user . system will not allow us to do after deleting the user.
so we are approaching SAP for ths help.

  • Best Practice while creating Contract, Purchase Requisition, Purchase Order

    Hi
What is the best practice with respect to Contract & Purchase Requisition?
IN T Code ME31K, there is a button Reference to PReq, meaning that we can create contract with using Purchase Requisition. (We have done the same)
While creating the Purchase Order using Contract, we could find Purchase Requisition reference in the Purchase Order; similarly when we created the Purchase Order using Purchase Requisition, we could find Contract reference in the Purchase Order.
    I have done the following:
    1. Create a Contract.
    2. Create a Purchase Requisition
    3. Assign Requisition and Create Purchase Order using T Code ME57.
    4. Create Purchase Order
Here in this case we could find references of both Contract & Purchase Requisition.
I just want to know what Practice should we adopt / advise while creating Contract, Purchase Requisition. & Purchase Order?
    Regards,

    Hi,
In ME51N Screen, enter Contract number in the "AGREEMENT" TAB and if more items in the contract, you can mention the item number in the next TAB to the AGREEMENT TAB and then proceed with creating PR by entering other details. This TAB you can find in the 4th column from extreme right end of PR screen.

  • Best practice to use contract(ME31K) in reference a PR

    Hi,
I create a PR(me51n) with service (the commitment is on the PR), next I create a contract(me31k) in reference with the PR. In the contract I do some change, I subdivide the service in two lines. After with ME57 I assign the contract with the PR.
When I want to create a PO (contract release ord), should I us the contract in reference or the PR. If I use the contract my commitment do not follow and if I use 50% for my PR the commitment is used at 100%.
    What is the best practice?
    Best regards

    Hi,
If I use the entire PR it is true but if I use only 50% of it. The commitment of the PR disappears and the commitment of the PO is 50% of the PR. And I want to found a way to transfert only the % of the commiment used in the PO.

  • Best practice followed on shopping cart error management

    Hi All
    application monitor via WEB.
    Shopping cart Error log:-
Shopping cart :- backend application errors
Shopping cart :- Not transfered to backend
sc xxxx follow on docuemnt(s) not transfered.
Shopping cart :- Spooler commuication errors
    Shopping cart :- Local errors
Really SC xxx has created a follow on docuemnts . why still srm system shows and it misleads others. sc xxxx follow on docuemnt(s) not transfered.
Why once the error SC resolved and follow on docuemnts created  , automaticlly error log deletes right.. why it is not happening some time. Should we manualy delete these errors?
What is the best practice you guys followed and clear these error?
    Muthu

    Hi Muthu,
seems we two guys are the only ones with webmonitor problems
but my situation is different than yours - the webmonitor tells me real errors. I am only investigating to get the system going automatically to transfer shopping carts later on, when SM12 locks in backend are off - like I state in:
    Re: SRM 5.0: CLEAN_REQREQ_UP, BBP_REQEQ_TRANSFER and Webmonitor

  • Best practices followed in using Single Sign-On

    Hi Everybody,
Now here is the toughest situation I have been facing on my project where I have to decide on how to use single sign-on(SSO) or whether SSO is the right solution for my problem.
    Here goes the problem :
I have been developing a dashboard for my client using APEX 3.0.0.00.20 on Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.2.0.
Now the client do not want to create new logins for the end users on this new APEX application.
After going through several threads in the forum about SSO I thought SSO might get me there but the confusion is how exactly SSO works for a situation like this.
As per my understanding SSO would act like an intermediary staging place which would take the existing logins and associate with the APEX logins(please correct me if I am wrong).
Also when I requested my DBA to install the SSO SDK as per the link http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/howtos/sso_partner_app.html#INSTALL I got a reply saying SSO is deprecated and now it is mod_osso.
I need your thoughts and opinion on what the best practices being followed in projects like these.
    Thanks in advance.
    Raj.

    Teku,
    * You install the SSO SDK into a schema in the Application Express database.
    * You register the APEX site as an Oracle AS SSO partner application using the facilities of the AS Login Server which produces some "keys".
    * You take those keys and plug them into a script that you run in the APEX SSO SDK schema.
    * You create an APEX application and set its authentication scheme to SSO using a wizard or the authentication scheme edit pages in the Application Builder. (From this point on, you can create or modify any number of applications in any workspace (in this APEX database) to use SSO just by using the authentication scheme wizards/edit pages in the Application Builder.)
*You run the application and get redirected to the login server.
*The login server authenticates you based on username/password in OID.
*The login server then redirects back to the requested page in your application.

    Hello ALL,
What are the best practices must be followed while changing one master data UOM data.
for eg i have two UOMs respectively,
basic UOM = EA another one ia Alternative UOM CAR  . 1 car = 10 EA.
now my master data team deleting this CAR via MM02 .
what are the follow up actions we should follow.
    (1) for eg i have contract existed for thi smaterial as CAR
    (2) I have many POs without doing GR
like wise can you list what are the impacts in the system.
    how we can go ahead.
What are the best practices followed while this UOM changes for your customer.

  • Bandwidth Utilization Avg or Max for capacity Planning best practice

Hello All - This is a conceptual or Non-Cisco product question. Hope you can help me to get this best industry practice
I am doing a Capacity planning for the WAN Link Bandwidth. To study the last month bandwidth utilization in the MRTG graph, i am seeing  two values
    Average
    Maximum.
To measure how much bandwidth my remote location is using which value i have to use. Average or Max?
Average is always low eg. 20% to 30%
Maximum is continuous 100% for 3 hour in 3 different intervals in a day and become 60% in rest of the day
What is the best practice followed in the networking industry to derive the upgrade size of the bandwidth by using the Utilization graph
    regards,
    SAIRAM

    Hello.
It makes no sense to use average during whole day (or a month), as you do the capacity management to avoid business impact due to link utilization; and average does not help you to catch is the end-users experience any performance issues.
Typically your capacity management algorithm/thresholds are dependent on traffic patterns. As theses are really different cases if you run SAP+VoIP vs. youtube+Outlook. If you have any business critical traffic, you need to deploy QoS (unless you are allowed to increase link bandwidth infinitely).
So, I would recommend to use 95-percentile of maximum values on 5-15 minutes interval (your algorithm/thresholds will be really sensitive to pooling interval, so choose it carefully). After to collect baseline (for a month or so)  - go and ask users about their experience and try to correlate poor experience with traffic bursts. This would help you to define thresholds for link upgrade triggers.
PS: proactive capacity management includes link planning for new sites and their impact on existing links (in HQ and other spoke).
PS2: also I would recommend to separately track utilization during business hours (business traffic) and non-business (service or backup traffic).

  • SOA OSB Deployment best practices in Production environment.

    Hi All
I just wanted to know the best practices followed in production environment for deploying OSB and SOA Code. As you are aware that both require libraries from either (Jdev or SOA Suite) and (OEPE and OSB)? Should one rip the libraries and package them with the ANT scripts (I am not sure but SOA would require its internal ANT scripts and lot of libraries to be bundled, OSB requires only a few OEPE and OSB libraries) or we simply use the below:
    1) Use the production run time (SOA Server and OSB Server) to build and deploy the code. OEPE would not be present here, so we would just have to deploy the already created sbconfig.jar (We would build this in a local environment where OEPE and OSB would be installed). The code is checked out from a repository and transferred to this linux machine.
    2) Use a windows machine (which has access to prod environment) and have Jdeveloper, OEPE and OSB installed to build\deploy the code to production server. The code is checked out from a repository.
Please let us know your personal experiences with the deployment in PROD. Thanks a lot!

There are two approaches for deployment of OSB and SOA code.
    1. Use a machine specifically for build and deployment which will have access to all production environments (where deployment needs to be done). Install all the required software (oepe, OSB etc..) and use remote deployment for deploying the code.
    2. Bundle all the build and deployment related libraries and ship them as a deployment package on the target server and proceed with the deployment.
Most commonly followed approach is approach#1.

  • Any known security best practices to follow for FMS deployment

    Hi all,
We have recently deployed Flash Media Streaming server 3.5.2 and Flash Media Encoder on a Windows 2003 machine. Do you guys know of any security best practices to follow for the FMS server deployment on a Windows machine, could you please point me to that resource.

    Hi
I will add some concepts, I am not sure how all of them work technically but there should be enough here for you to
dig deeper, and also alot of this is relevant to your environment and how you want to deploy it.
I have done a 28 server deployment, 4 origin and 24 edge servers.
All the Edge servers on the TCP/IP properties we disabled file and printer sharing. Basically this is a way in for hackers and we disabled this only on the edge servers as these are the ones presented to the public.
We also only allowed ports 1935, 80, 443 on our NICs. Protocol numbers are 6 and 17, this means that you are allowing UDP and TCP. So definitely test out your TCP/IP port filtering until you are confortable that all your connection types are working and secure.
Use RTMPE over RTMP, as it is there to be used and I am surprised not more people use it. The problem as with any other encryption protocol, it may cause higher overhead on resources of the servers holding the connections.
You may want to look at SWF verification. In my understanding, it works as the following. You publish a SWF file on a website. This is a source code that your player uses for authentication. If you enable your edge servers to only listen for authentication requests from that SWF file, then hopefully you are really lessening the highjacking possibilities on your streams.
If you are doing encoding via FME then I would suggest that you download the authentication plugin that is available on the Flash Media Encoder download site.
There are other things you can look at making it more secure like adaptor.xml, using a front end load balancer, HTML domains, SWF domains,
    Firewalls and DRM.
I hope this helps you out.
