BEX formula.. How to know the row value in formulas dynamically

Hi all,
I just need to clarify a doubt..
Requirement:
COL1      -               COL2
Y1            -               X
Y2            -               X + 12
Y3            -               X + 12 + 12
YN           -               X + 12 + 12 + u2026 12(n)
Y is dynamic from the source datau2026.. Itu2019s the year (2009,2008u2026 etc..)
X value is from the user (i/p variable value). Some dummy valueu2026
Now, the main logic I want to incorporate is like using a formula for COL2
COL2 Formula looks like thisu2026.          X + (12 * N)             where N= 0 for the 1st row; 1 for the 2nd row; 2 for the 3rd row like thatu2026..
How to dynamically allocate value for N based on the row count?
Pls. let me know if you find somethingu2026.

how abt this:
This approach only valid for Workbboks..
create COLUMN3 just type like this
0
12
24
and drag this upto end of Col1 and Col2 so it will poulate multiples of 12 then in Column 4 apply the C1-C2+C3..

Hardcoding the formula is not relevant at all. May be you had not read this query properly. Its no way related to being dynamic right... If it was Excel workbook, anyone would have used a simple formula & moved values like cakewalk.
So unfortunate! BEx has some limitations..
All I need in my query is some counter like 1,2,3.... till the end of the last record. That's all.
Pl. find the sample data
COL1     COL2
2009     1.3
2008     13.3          Which is 1.3+12
2007     25.3          Which is 1.3+12+12
2006     37.3          Which is 1.3+12+12+12

i have written query for C, but how to write the Formatted search Query for generation of D values. plz reply as soon as possible.

I quite understand what you are trying to do.   If you look at the example below I added a third row to show how you want the D to be a running total of column C. RIGHT !!

Honestly, it is not going to be simple as you do not have a way in SBO to access a particular column from a row. When you say $[$38.U_C] it refers to the context row OR the row which has the highlight OR the row which has the curson on it.
It is not possible to say $[$38.U_C from row 2] JUST NOT POSSIBLE ...
You have to write a tricky code by using a temp table referencing the value of column C. Also you have to keep track if Rows gets deleted and a new row added.
I will test a sample code and will come back.

Hi, I'm coding an app using swing and JTable, in this table I will display the records from a database, now, each time the user has click in any cell I want to display it value, whit this method:

Here the server specification :
Proc : itanium64 ( montecito )
Mem : 32Gb
# getconf PAGE_SIZE = 16384
Metalink says, that SHMMAX should be half of physical memory and SHMALL = SHMMAX / PAGE_SIZE.
kernel.shmmax = 17179869184
kernel.shmall = 1048576
My Question is this is right value for SHMMAX and SHMALL on my server..??

sga size should anyhow should be less then shmmax ,means we cannot increase sga size more than half the ram

Currently I am getting Only 4 columns and 10 rows in One Page .And I am getting 1,2 etc tabs for both row and column. So i want to increase the column length more than 100 and row length more than 10000.
Please suggest me a suitable solution to over come this issue.

because I have other restriction, so I create two restricted key figure..
RK1 with restriction : Total Number of Note,
RK2 with restriction : Total Opening Days ,
then I Created a calculated key figure, average opening days in a period
CK1 = RK2 / RK1..
in this case, I am not sure if it will work or not..
for example, during RK2 calclation, it might be this   2+3 = 5, the line with 0 will be ignored..
during RK1 calcualtion, it might be 1 + 1 + 1 = 3. ---> Not sure in this case, the line with opening days 0 will be calculated or not..

With a contract number, how to know the total PO release value against it?

Usually one contract corresponds to multiple PO records, now we know the contract number, then how to know the total PO release value against this contract. In other word, we would like to know the total release value of all the POs with the same contract number. To just input the contract number in EKPO table? but then look for which field in this table to add these PO release values up?

You can do that only if your have collected the stats properly. Otherwise its going to show you wrong information.

How to use the prompted value in the filter expression

Hi
Is it possible to use the prompted value in the filter expression?
My requirement is that user will be prompted for a date field and I need to filter the records such that the records are displayed for the last 5 weeks from the date entered by the user.
If somehow I know how to use the prompted value in the filter expression then this requirement is easy to be done. If this is possible, please guide me?
If there are other ways to acheive the desired results then please suggest.

Hi Mudassar,
The issue is caused by the order in which the parameters appear in the report data tab can be difference between our report execution and it failing. In other words, “Parameter2” is execution before parameter “A” due to this issue. We can adjust the parameter’s
order to solve the issue.
If “Parameter2” is parameter “A”, we cannot use that expression. Because fields cannot be used in report parameter expression, if we want to display the first value returned from a query as default value, we have to fill the “Specify values” text box with
the specific value in Default Values dialog box.

How to restrict the duplicate values in lov column of VO based Adv Table

Hi Gurus,
I want to restrict the duplicate values at lov which is a colunm in an Adv Table.
If user enters duplicate values then first it should show an error msg that Duplicate values have been entered.
After the duplicate values have been removed, then the user can save all the values in the table.
My Adv Table is based on a VO.

talks about Adv Table based on a EoVO, which doesnot work in my case.
My Approach,
I am iterating through RowSetIterator and committing through PROCEDURE.
I am able to avoid duplicate entry through a function checkRespId. (given below)
