BI-ADF integration in JDev 12c

In Jdeveloper 12c , i am trying to create a JSF  page to  have a OBIEE report.
1. Added Extensions to Jdev:
- Business Intelligence Logical SQLview objects
- Business Intelligence Soap connection
- Business Intelligence ADF view regions
2. Created Project and connection to BI Presentation server successfully.
3. created a JSF page and tried to  drag one of the reports to the page but  unable to  add and getting an  error.
'Perform impersonation was enabled for the BI Presentation Services SOAP connection, but there was no logged in user!'
Any help  would be appreciated.

Check these, might be old version

  • ADFBindingFilter error while deploying a war to WLS server using jdev 12c

    I've a OSB Server setup using XBUS_MAIN_GENERIC_120131.1402.S which is using JDEVADF_MAIN_GENERIC_120102.0032.6211.
    Launched the 12c Jdev and created a simple adfc web application with a test.jspx page and deployed in the OSB Server. The web app deployed and could launch the test page.
    I have added the page definition for that test page by 'Go to Page Definition' option.
    Now, If I try to deploy this web app war to the OSB Server, I'm getting the following exception in the jdev (Error1) and in the server log I could see the error (Error2).
    Any Idea how to resolve this issue?

  • How to create a calendar layout in jdev 12c?

    In jdev  12c,
    When drag and drop a data control into jsf page, in the popup menu->Create, there is no Create a calendar choice.
    How to create a calendar layout in jdev 12c?
    Thanks.

    Timo,
    From a  reference doc of previous version of jdev/adf, it said :
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/cn/java/calendar-091799.html
    Expand the Data Controls accordion and drag the collection that represents the view object for the activity created above (FodCalEventVO) and drop it as a Calendar.
    But in Jdev 12c.--cannot find the Create Calendar choice.
    In jdev 12c can drag and drop a calendar component from the component palette, but do not now how to bind it to view objects.
    Thanks.

  • Jheadstart will be integrated into Jdev 9.0.5

    In JHeadstart new feature direction, it will be
    integrated into Jdeveloper 9.0.5, that is when Jdeveloper
    released all body needn't to buy standalone JHeadstart
    like now.
    Is this thinking right or wrong ?

    Ok, I think the confusion is caused by an unfortunate phrasing from our side. What we meant with "integrated in Jdev 9.0.5", is not that JHeadstart as a product will be gone. All we meant to say there is that we will make JHeadstart compatible with jdev 9.0.5 and ADF.
    The JHeadstart team is thrilled about the ADF initiative, we think it is great technology. With JHeadstart we will 100% align with ADF, but Jan is right we have to work out the details of what this exactly means. Here is a summary of our current plans:
    Our first goal is to release a new JHeadstart version end of August (2003) compatible with the current jdev production version
    (9031/904). As you probably know, this release adds support for JSP and Struts. UIX and MVC Framework support will stay in.
    After this release, we will focus completely on ADF integration. We have identified the following integration areas:
    - Use ADF data binding. We have to look in more detail into the ADF binding, but as we see it right now, some of the more
    trivial JHeadstart mvc processes/struts actions can go away, like BrowseDataSourceSet and HandleTableEvent. Standard actions
    like browsing, scrolling and save one record can be done declaratively with ADF data binding. However, more complex save
    actions like we support in SaveDataSourceSet will remain.
    - Add ability to use JSTL and EL in generated JSP pages (in the upcoming release, we use all Struts tag libs)
    - Replace our custom BC4J generator with the Designer BC4j Generator within the JHeadstart Designer Generator
    - Upgrade MVC Framework to ADF controller (ADFc) (Note that ADFc will not yet be available in 905 preview).
    Apart from ADF integration, we would like to enhance the JHeadstart Application Generator significantly in future releases, for example, generating wizard style layouts, multi-select LOV's, shuttles, unlimited nesting of groups, etc.
    In summary, some of the JHeadstart runtime components and some JHeadstart handler functionality will become obsolete with ADF.
    However, the Application Generator, driven from the JHeadstart application structure file and ADF meta data, will remain a significant productivity booster, as well as some of the more sophisticated JHeadstart Struts actions.
    Also, the JHeadstart Designer Generator adds significant value on top of the Designer BC4J generator: it allows you to
    migrate not only the Model, but a complete application including the View and Controller.
    One of the really nice things of JHeadstart-ADF combination is that after you have generated a "second-cut" application
    with Jheadstart, you should be able to use the ADF Struts visual page flow modeler and ADF layout editor to pick up the generated
    struts-config, and generated uix/jsp pages and finish off your application with visual aids.
    Hope this clarifies a bit how we see JHeadstart with respect to ADF.
    Steven Davelaar,
    JHeadstart Team.

  • ADF Integration with BPEL

    Hello,
    I am new to BPEL. I am working on a sample .
    I am working on ADF Integration with BPEL process.
    I have an ADF Screen displaying data from an EMPLOYEE table in HR Schema . It has a button called "Update". I need to call a synchronous BPEL process on click of "Update" . This BPEL process will take the selected employee information as an XML input and update the last name to the first name as the response.
    I have some doubts in that :
    1. How to pass an XML Schema as input parameter to a BPEL process ? Can you please let me know some sample applications ?
    2. I am creating a web proxy for the BPEL WSDL (created above) and my "Update" button is binded to a method which is calling the BPEL process.
    How can i pass my XML input as the argument of the method to invoke the BPEL process ?
    Thanks
    Nutan

    When using a web service proxy, you need to pass the data as an object, which' structure is defined in the web service proxy wrapper classes.
    When you've defined a data control for your bpel process, you can just drag and drop the 'initiate'/'execute', your operation and bind this to the update-button.
    When working with the proxy client, you need to populate your java class objects with the employee-object, this can be done in a backing bean or managed bean in your adf faces application.
    For more information you can always have a look at my blog where I've provided an explanation about the different possibilities of interfacing adf with SOA.
    Kind regards,
    Nathalie

  • JDev 12c: Unable to create an instance of the Java Virtual Machine

    Hi!
    I have installed JDev 12c on windows7 64 bit and try to start it the first time and get this error.
    The path inside the message point to <myHome>\oracle_common\jdk\jre\bin\client\jvm.dll.
    There is installed a jre, whichs version is:
    <myHome>\oracle_common\jdk\jre\bin>java -version
    java version "1.7.0_15"
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_15-b33)
    Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 23.7-b01, mixed mode)
    In the calling batch script I see following output:
    Error occured during initialization of VM
    Could not reserve enougs space for object heap
    Anybody has the same problem?
    Kind regards
    Torsten

    Thanks Frank - i missed that a 64bit installer exist as the first installer does shows only windows installer and not 32bit installer!
    One last question:
    After the start remains the calling command window additional to the JDeveloper window, is this the wanted behavior? As this use the same icon in the task bar this leads to wrong switch to this windows instead of the JDeveloper window.
    The calling command window shows only this information:
    Jul 15, 2013 10:48:20 AM oracle.ide.osgi.boot.LauncherUtil throttleLocale
    INFO: Locale de_DE is not supported by this product. Forcing locale to en_US.
    But when I close it the JDeveloper window is closed too.

  • JDev 12c ODL does not work ?

    Hi,
    Start playing with 12c and for some reason (bug?) after configuring the Oracle Diagnostics Logging to show debug info, the log window does not display any log lines.
    For example setting FINEST in the oracle.jbo has no effect in the log window.
    Have you got the same behavior in your JDev 12c environment or I have a problematic installation ?
    Yiannis

    Thanks Shay,
    Yes you are right the log info is displayed through the log analyzer.
    However, logging ODL messages and then showing the messages in the log window is very useful during development and eliminates the need of setting System.out statements in code.
    Having to “Analyze log” during developing and debugging application classes in every Step Over (F8) , extremely slowing the whole development and debug process.
    Is there any way to have the same behavior as in the 11g showing the logs in the log window also?

    Hi,
    you have a java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.adf.share.weblogic.listeners.ADFApplicationLifecycleListener in your stack trace.
    This looks like your installation has a flaw. If it's only your machine, remove JDEV from it and install it again.

  • StackOverflowError: when trying run an ADF application made on Jdev11.1.2.1.0 to Jdev 12C

    I have developed so many applications on Jdev 11.1.2.1.0.
    Now i want to run them on Jdev12c.
    When i opened the application made on previous version of Jdev in Jdev12c , it came up with some migration option.
    I did the migration . So , when i am trying to run the application , a JDev severity error is coming up like "Save your data, otherwise it will cause data loss".
    So i just continue it with that.
    Then some error is coming up like,,in feedback tab
    "Previously reported error [StackOverflowError in o.ji.deploy.contrib.processor.ProjectDependenciesJLibraryProxy$ProcessorImpl:138]"
    What may be the possible cause of this error. I Have so many project jars used in the project.
    Please help coz of this error i am unable to run my previously made application on 12C

    Maybe the migration support information is relevant
    at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/documentation/1212-cert-1964670.html#Abrams-SupportInformation-MigrationSupport
    currently saying
    "The suppported migration paths to 12.1.2 are from the latest versions of 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.7.0) or the 11g Release 2 (11.1.2.4.0). If you are currently not on the latest version of 11g Release 1 or 11g Release 2, you should migrate your application to one of those releases before migrating to 12.1.2."

  • Error during ADF Security logout in 12c

    Hello,
    I'm in the process of migrating my application from 11.1.2.4 to 12.1.2.0, and one thing I've noticed is the following error message in the weblogic logs when logging out of ADF Security:
    <Error> <oracle.adf.share.http.HttpSessionScopeAdapter> <BEA-000000> <HttpSessionScopeAdapter:  Request is in an invalid state.  Could not access the request session.>
    The logout still seems to work fine however. Currently I'm logging out with the following code (from here):
    ExternalContext ectx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext();
    ectx.redirect(ectx.getRequestContextPath() + "/adfAuthentication?logout=true&end_url=/faces/home");
    FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().responseComplete();
    Every time I press logout, the above error happens 5 times in the logs.
    I've also tried using the logout code from the 12c documentation and that produces the same error, but interestingly only produces that error 4 times.
    Is there something extra or different that is supposed to be done to log out of ADF security in 12c? I can't imagine that getting an error repeatedly is what should be expected.
    Thanks!

    Hello,
    I gave that idea a try, and it was the same result as the very similar manual logout code given in the documentation I tried earlier: http://docs.oracle.com/middleware/1212/adf/ADFFD/adding_security.htm#ADFFD21669
    The logout happens successfully, but that error message shows up in the logs at least once. Whenever I do a logout without going through the authentication servlet, the error is always logged exactly 1 time fewer. In my application I migrated from 11gR2 to 12c, the error would happen 4 times (5 through the servlet), and in the fresh sample 12c app I made earlier this week, it happens 1 time (2 through the servlet).
    I should also add that all of this testing has just been done in the integrated weblogic 12c server that comes with JDeveloper 12c.

  • GOTCHA's with Setting up ADF Security with JDev 11.1.1.6.0

    If you're getting into ADF security, you're probably going to want to get rid of that ugly default login.html page. I mean, it gets the job done, but we want something a little better. And if you want something a little better and you're using JDev 11.1.1.6.0, it behooves you to read this post!
    First off, get acquainted with these four posts. All good stuff. They'll walk you through the 1st half of what you need to know. Y'know, the non-Gotcha half.

    http://java2go.blogspot.com/2010/12/creating-centered-page-layout-using-adf.html
    Are you getting either of the following errors?
    <CodebasePolicyHandler> <migrateDeploymentPolicies> Migration of codebase policy failed. Reason: {0}.
    oracle.security.jps.JpsException: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: oracle.security.jps.internal.core.principals.JpsAnonymousRoleImpl
    Error 500--Internal Server Error
    java.lang.RuntimeException: Cannot find FacesContextI'll show you where they're coming from. Follow along.
    1) Create a new application.
    2) Create three .jspx pages called login, error, and welcome.
    3) Generate PageDef files for them by right-clicking on the file and selecting "Go To PageDefinition". You'll want these so that you may apply security against them.
    4) Right-Click on your Application and select Secure->Configure ADF Security
    5) ADF Authentication and Authorization -> Form Based Authentication (Use the search symbol to select your created login and error pages. Should be something like "/faces/login.jspx") -> No Automatic Grants -> Finish
    Right-Click your welcome.jspx and select run. You'll get this error before your web page opens up in your browser and then proceeds to wig out.
    <CodebasePolicyHandler> <migrateDeploymentPolicies> Migration of codebase policy failed. Reason: {0}.
    oracle.security.jps.JpsException: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: oracle.security.jps.internal.core.principals.JpsAnonymousRoleImplThat just won't do. Let's fix it, shall we?
    6) Open your newly JDev created jazn-data.xml file. It's located in the Application Resources panel (usually located by Data Controls and your Projects expandable panels)
    7) Resource Grants -> Resource Type (Web Page dropdown) -> error page should have a key symbol by it. Delete the anonymous role in the "Granted To" column. Now click the green button to add an Application Role. Huh, there's TWO of them? How bout that? Looks like we're going to have to delete some XML code!
    8) Click the Source tab on the bottom of the page to open up the XML View. You'll see the following piece of erroneous code. Erroneous, I say!
      <policy-store>
        <applications>
          <application>
            <name>SecurityError</name>
            <app-roles>
              // Hello, I'm the app role that has sucked away two hours of your life that you can never, ever get back
              <app-role>
                <name>anonymous-role</name>
                <class>oracle.security.jps.internal.core.principals.JpsAnonymousRoleImpl</class>
                <display-name>anonymous-role</display-name>
              </app-role>
             // Whew, the end of that app role
            </app-roles>
            <jazn-policy>
              <grant>9) You're going to want to delete that app role XML
    10) Go back into your jazn-data.xml file and create some users. For example, bob and jane. Create an Enterprise role called "admin". Put bob and jane as members into this Enterprise role. Create an Application role called managers. Map managers to your Enterprise role admin.
    11) Go back to the Resource Grants tab -> Resource Type (Web Page) and delete any "Granted To" authorizations that may assigned to any of the pages. Assigned a "Granted To" application role of "anonymous-role" to the error and login pages. Assign "managers" to welcome.
    12) Run your welcome page. Yay, the error is gone. How sweet it is.
    Now you want to refactor/move your login and error page somewhere else? Great, just right-click and select factor. Refactor to some place like /public_html/jspx/<your login page>.jspx. Re-run your welcome page.
    // You fool!
    Error 404--Not Found
    From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    10.4.5 404 Not FoundThat's not so good. Let's fix that.
    1) Open up web.xml. It's located at ViewController/WEB-INF/web.xml.
    2) Click the security tab and you'll see Form-Based Authentication with a login page and error page. Click that Search glass and locate your new file. Do the same for the error page. You should see something like "/jspx/login.jspx" come back.
    3) Re-run your welcome page.
    // Suckered AGAIN!
    Error 500--Internal Server Error
    java.lang.RuntimeException: Cannot find FacesContextThis is a tricky one. The search icon brings back a faulty address. Since we're using a .jspx page, it needs to be "/faces/jspx/login.jspx". Repeat for the error page. Re-run your welcome.jspx.
    Ahh!! Now THAT's how we do it in Kingsport!
    Finally, a custom .jspx login works. Now what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be playing some Diablo 3?

    The jsf works in JDeveloper 11.1.2.4 and Glassfish 3.1.2 and ADF Essentials 11.1.2.4

  • Slow response when calling a web service from an ADF client in JDev 11g

    I have generated a web service (WS) for a stored procedure package with 3 functions. The WS has less than 1 second response times when I use the standard WS testing facility. I then created a data control for the WS selecting the default values in the JDev wizard. When I test the functions from a very basic ADF client the response times for the same functions are between 3-4 seconds i.e. very SLOW compared to the actual response time of WS. I need some advice on how to investigate this performance degredation as seen from the ADF client.
    Could the problem be that the data control was created from a web service in the same project? Maybe it is necessary to have them in separate projects or create a proxy?
    I created and tested the web service with the standard WS test tool and then simply went on to create a data control from this web service for use from a ADF client.
    Some background info:
    I saw the following warning in step 8 of the WS creation wizard:
    "The configured policy store location at "C:\Oracle\Middleware\jdeveloper\j2ee\home\gmds" is invalid. Application cannot read policies from this location. Check that the directory name is correct and the location exists."
    Also I can confirm that there is no j2ee directory in my environment.
    The application server logs the following for each call from the ADF client:

    Find solution. Check this thread:

    The com.sap.tc.webdynpro.model.webservice.api.IWDWSInvocationModifier interface can be implemented by an application using the Adaptive Web Service model in order to modify the web service invocation object just before it's execution. Invocation modifiers need to be registered with the executable model class for which invocation is to be modified:
    Request_NumberToWords requestMO = new Request_NumberToWords(model);
    requestMO.wdSetInvocationModifier(
      new IWDWSInvocationModifier() {
        public void doModifyInvocation(Object port) {
          HTTPControlInterface httpItf = HTTPControlFactory.getInterface(port);
          //timeout for this WS invocation is 120 sec; don't use global config. setting of WS-Runtime
          httpItf.setSocketTimeout(120000);
        public void doModifyAfterInvocation() {}
