BI omits first characters of the column

Getting realy strange situation with quering data from database - starting from the second row BI omits first n characters, where n is number of current row minus one. For instanse:
Column in the database stores
POS-терминал
iBox
N/A
Мобильное приложение
АТМ
Терминал самообслуживания
Отделение
When we try to view data in Administration Tool it shows folowing for this column
POS-терминал
Box
ильное приложение
нал самообслуживания
ние
Analytics in the web shows the same.
BI version is *11.1.1.6.2 (Build 120605.2000 BP1 32-bit)* installed on Linux 5 (it's actualy prebuild virtual demo downloaded from OTN)
The database is Teradata 13.10, using ODBC driver of the same version. Characterset is UTF8, odbc is set to ANSI mode.
The issue is only for cyrillics letters, when quering english characters evrything is ok.

  • How set maximum of characters for the columns

    Hello I use a JTable and I want to set maximum of characters for the columns.
    For example column 1 max 10 characters, column 2 max 20 characters, etc..
    How can I do this?

    The principle is as follows: a table uses certain input components for editing a cell value, e.g. a JCheckBox for Boolean-type values or a JTextField for textual/numerical values. By default, a JTextField doesn't have any size limit, so you can enter as many chars as you want. In order to change this behaviour, you'll have to
    1.) create a JTextField that does have a size limit and
    2.) set a CellEditor on the JTable which uses this manipulated JTextField.
    An easy way for 1.) is to create a custom Document (the internal data representation for text components, the M-part of the MVC -- see javax.swing.text.Document) that doesn't accept any text beyond a given limit, e.g.:
    public class LimitedDocument extends PlainDocument {
      private int max = 0;
      public LimitedDocument(int max) {
        this.max = max;
      public void insertString(int offset, String str, AttributeSet a) throws BadLocationException {
        // too long for the limit; get current contents, insert, and cut off trailing chars
        if ((getLength() + str.length()) > max) {
          StringBuffer buf = new StringBuffer(getText(0,getLength()));
          buf.insert(offset,str);
          remove(0,len); // remove current text contents
          super.insert(0,buf.toString().substring(0,max),a); // insert whole text
        // no problem, will fit
        else {
          super.insertString(offset,str,a);
    }Then, in order to set the cell editor -- for example for the first column --, you can do as follows:
    myTable.getColumnModel().getColumn(0).setCellEditor(new DefaultCellEditor(new JTextField(new LimitedDocument(5),"",5)));This will create a new DefaultCellEditor (see javax.swing.table) and initialize it with a given text field which will be responsible for any edition in this column. As the text field itself is created using a limit of 5, it should accept no text insertion beyond 5 chars.

    WHERE     (dbo.OWOR.Status = 'P') OR
                          (dbo.OWOR.Status = 'R') AND dbo.ITM1.Price
    I need to select the first price on the price list for (dbo.ITM1.Price).
    Regards
    Bongani

    Bongani,
    Are you sure you don't want to link a pricelist? Because the unique key on ITM1 consists of ItemCode and PriceList and taking the first price for an item in ITM1 could result in kind of random prices for different items, depending on whice pricelist gets filled first for a certain item.

  • Restrict on the first characters of a characteric value

    Hi Experts,
    I would like to restrict some characterics on the three or four first characters of the value. For example, imagine the value 'ABCD-1234'; i would like to filter only values which begin with ABC.
    Is that possible unless doing a routine in the customer exit? If yes, how?
    Thanks in advance.
    Luc

    I need to do this in the query def. The list of the values can change but the format will be always the same (beginning with ABC); that's why I can't make a range of values because I risk not to take into account all the good values.
    This an example of values:
    SEEC3-2004-321
    SEEC3-2004-346
    SEA31-2004-584
    SEA31-2004-724
    SCY54-2004-828
    SCY54-2004-869
    SEA31-2004-888
    SCY54-2004-911
    SEE54-2004-928
    SEE31-2004-952
    SEE54-2004-1034
    I just want to restrict on values which begin with SEEC and SCY. Do you see a possible solution?*
    Thank you all

  • ?xml version="1.0"? tag not appearing as first characters in document

    Hi,
    JSP below successfully creates a XML document but it includes a blank line before the <?xml version="1.0"?> tag.
    This causes my PL/SQL to return a "ORA-20100: Error occurred while parsing: PI names starting with 'xml' are

    I am outputting the XML to IE5.0 but even if I do a SYSTEM out I get the same blank line before the initial tag.
    There are posts on here that confirm the PI error is caused by the tag not being the first characters in the document, but no solution/fix is provided.
    Any ideas much appreciated.

    Charles,
    I believe that the blank line is caused by the JSP engine when it strips out the '<%@ page import...>' (replace bracket with brace) statement. God (or at least Larry E) forgive me for posting a link at IBM, but this article speaks to your issue:
    http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/library/j-dynxml.html?dwzone=ibm
    Maybe you need to put the <?xml?> tag in the jsp itself and strip it out of your xmldoc before outputting it.
    Good luck.

  • Get the column names of a query (in own plugin)

    Hi,
    I'm developing my first plugin. It is a region plugin where the plugin-user passes a sql query as the source that the plugin will turn into a formated report.
    I found how to retreive the query result by using APEX_PLUGIN_UTIL.GET_DATA functions. Since it is an array, it is simple to cycle through the data rows. But how can i figure out
    1) how many columns the query returns
    2) whats the name of the columns is?
    Thanks a lot in advance for any hint...
    Cheers, Hans

    Hi Hans,
    the package APEX_PLUGIN_UTIL provides everything you need. No need to do your own DBMS_SQL handling!
    Have a look at the API documentation and the example of GET_DATA at http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23903_01/doc/doc.41/e21676/apex_plugin_util.htm#BABFBIJD
    The t_column_value_list record type is a two dimensional array defined as
    type t_column_value_list  is table of wwv_flow_global.vc_arr2 index by pls_integer;The first array contains an entry for each column.
    l_column_value_list.COUNTcan be used to get the number of columns.
    l_column_value_list(1).COUNTcan be used to get the number of rows. An example to iterate over all columns and rows:
    for l_column in 1 .. l_column_value_list.count loop
        for l_row in 1 .. l_column_value_list(l_column).count loop
            sys.htp.p('column#=' || l_column || ' row=' || l_row || ' value: ' || l_column_value_list(l_column)(l_row));
        end loop;
    end loop;If you need the name of the columns and maybe the original data type and not everything converted to VARCHAR2 you have to use the more sophisticated GET_DATA2. See http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23903_01/doc/doc.41/e21676/apex_plugin_util.htm#BABFJHAI
    This function returns the record type t_column_value_list2 which is defined as
    type t_value is record (
        varchar2_value      varchar2(32767),
        number_value        number,
        date_value          date,
        timestamp_value     timestamp,
        timestamp_tz_value  timestamp with time zone,
        timestamp_ltz_value timestamp with local time zone,
        interval_y2m_value  interval year to month,
        interval_d2s_value  interval day to second,
        blob_value          blob,
        bfile_value         bfile,
        clob_value          clob );
    type t_value_list is table of t_value index by pls_integer;
    type t_column_values is record (
        name       varchar2(32767),
        data_type  varchar2(20), /* use c_data_type_* constants to compare */
        value_list t_value_list );
    type t_column_value_list2 is table of t_column_values         index by pls_integer;Again, it's some kind of two dimensional array. The first dimensions are the columns. But this time you also get some details of the parsed column. For example:
    for l_column in 1 .. l_column_value_list2.COUNT loop
        sys.htp.p('Column Name: ' || l_column_value_list2(l_column).name || ' Data Type: ' || l_column_value_list2(l_column).data_type );
    end loop;Will return you all the columns of the SQL statement. Using "name" and "data_type" you can get the column name and the data type. To access the values you can use
    for l_column in 1 .. l_column_value_list2.COUNT loop
        sys.htp.p('Column Name: ' || l_column_value_list2(l_column).name || ' Data Type: ' || l_column_value_list2(l_column).data_type );
        for l_rows in 1 .. l_column_value_list2(l_column).value_list.COUNT loop
            sys.htp.p(
                'row=' || l_row || ' value: ' ||
                apex_plugin_util.get_value_as_varchar2 (
                    p_data_type => l_column_value_list2(l_column).data_type,
                    p_value     => l_column_value_list2(l_column).value_list(l_row) );
        end loop;
    end loop;I used apex_plugin_util.get_value_as_varchar2 to always get a VARCHAR2, independent of the actual data type of the column. If you need the original data type, use "number_value", ... of the t_value record type.
    Hope that gives you a direction
    Patrick

    I need to do this in sql server 2008 R2 with Service pack 2, my build version is 10.50.1600.1.
    Can someone let me know it is possible in do the same way it is handle in SQL Server 2012?
    Or
    It got resolved in any successive Cumulative update after 10.50.1600.1?
    Regards Harsh

    Hello,
    If you have CSV with double quotes inside double quotes and with SSIS 2008, I suggest:
    in your data flow you use a script transformation component as Source, then define the ouput columns id signed int, Gp unicode string and C unicode string. e.g. Ouput 0 output colmuns
    Id - four-byte signed
    gp - unicode string
    cc - unicode string
    Do not use a flat file connection, but use a user variable in which you store the name of the flat file (this could be inside a for each file loop).
    The user variable is supplied as a a readonly variable argument to the script component in your dataflow.
    In the script component inMain.CreateNewOutputRows use a System.IO.Streamreader with the user variable name to read the file and use the outputbuffer addrow method to add each line to the output of the script component.
    Between the ReadLine instraction and the addrow instruction you have to add your code to extract the 3 column values.
    public override void CreateNewOutputRows()
    Add rows by calling the AddRow method on the member variable named "<Output Name>Buffer".
    For example, call MyOutputBuffer.AddRow() if your output was named "MyOutput".
    string line;
    System.IO.StreamReader file = new System.IO.StreamReader( Variables.CsvFilename);
    while ((line = file.ReadLine()) != null)
    System.Windows.Forms.MessageBox.Show(line);
    if (line.StartsWith("_id,qp,c") != true) //skip header line
    Output0Buffer.AddRow();
    string[] mydata = Yourlineconversionher(line);
    Output0Buffer.Id = Convert.ToInt32(mydata[0]);
    Output0Buffer.gp = mydata[1];
    Output0Buffer.cc = mydata[2];
    file.Close();

    Hi,
    Fairly new to T-SQL and i want to swap the first and last characters in a column.
    Thanks
    Umar Javed

    Likewise i have also tried your suggestion and i still seem to be getting errors:
    IF (@TYPE = 'SCRAMBLE')
    BEGIN
    DECLARE @SQLCOMMAND VARCHAR(2000)
    SET @SQLCOMMAND = 'UPDATE ' + @TABLENAME + ' SET ' + @VALUE +
    STUFF(STUFF(@VALUE,1,1,RIGHT(@VALUE,1)),LEN(@VALUE),1,LEFT(@VALUE,1))
    EXECUTE(@SQLCOMMAND)
    END
    Umar Javed
    Please post the errors.
    EDIT: Actually looking at your code this will bring errors:
    IF (@TYPE = 'SCRAMBLE')
    BEGIN
    DECLARE @SQLCOMMAND VARCHAR(2000)
    SET @SQLCOMMAND = 'UPDATE ' + @TABLENAME + ' SET ' + @VALUE + ' = STUFF(STUFF('+@VALUE+',1,1,RIGHT('+@VALUE+',1)),LEN('+@VALUE+'),1,LEFT('+@VALUE+',1))'
    PRINT @SQLCOMMAND
    EXECUTE(@SQLCOMMAND)
    END
    I've also added a print command so it will show you what the code looks like upon concatenation. It's much easier to debug this way.

    Restating my issue / question...
    When I send email from this iMac, there is a string of characters assigned. The characters are all the "alpha numeric" characters on the QWERTY key board. This only occurs when email is sent from this iMac. The issue does not manifest when using any other lap top or computer.
    Hence, I have ruled out the issue is a yahoo mail matter.
    Again, I can access the Yahoo mail account form multiple devices and send email without unintended assignment of character strings, but when I send wmail using this iMac, the issue happens everytime.
    Characters are stacked verticaly in a column. It looks as if all characters (except function keys) are included in the string.
    Any ideas?

    This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
    These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
    Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
    Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then copy it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
    Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
    Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
    When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.
    Step 1
    Triple-click the line of text below to select it:
    kextstat -kl | awk '!/com\.apple/{printf "%s %s\n", $6, $7}' | open -f -a TextEdit
    Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Then click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). A TextEdit window will open with the output of the command. Post the contents of that window, if any — the text, please, not a screenshot. You can then close the TextEdit window. The title of the window doesn't matter, and you don't need to post that. No typing is involved in this step.
    Step 2
    Repeat with this line:
    { sudo launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.(apple|openssh|vix)|org\.(amav|apac|cups|isc|ntp|postf|x)/{print $3}'; sudo defaults read com.apple.loginwindow LoginHook; } | open -f -a TextEdit
    This time you'll be prompted for your login password, which you do have to type. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. Type it carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. Heed that warning, but don't post it. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
    Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step.
    Step 3
    launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.apple|org\.(x|openbsd)/{print $3}' | open -f -a TextEdit
    Step 4
    ls -1A /e*/mach* {,/}L*/{Ad,Compon,Ex,Fram,In,Keyb,La,Mail/Bu,P*P,Priv,Qu,Scripti,Servi,Spo,Sta}* L*/Fonts 2> /dev/null | open -f -a TextEdit
    Important: If you formerly synchronized with a MobileMe account, your me.com email address may appear in the output of the above command. If so, anonymize it before posting.
    Step 5
    osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to get name of every login item' | open -f -a TextEdit
    Remember, steps 1-5 are all copy-and-paste — no typing, except your password. Also remember to post the output.
    You can then quit Terminal.

  • The sheet I am working on has lost the ability for me to scroll to the first few columns. I can't see the columns but I can cut and paste them so I know they are still there. Has this happened to others

    The sheet I am working on has lost the ability for me to scroll to the first few columns. I can't see the columns A & B but if I cut and paste the table to a new sheet, the columns I am missing will travel to the new sheet.  I have charts and other stuff related the the original table so I need to figure out why I can only see from column C  forward.  I tried to "UNHIDE" the columns but the function doesn't seem to recognise that there are columns missing. Has this happened to others and how did you fix it?

    I've seen it happen before, or at least it sounds something like what I've seen before. The table somehow gets into the margins of the page and the app doesn't know how to deal with it. Go into Print View and try moving the table away from the left side ofthe page. You might have to change content size or resize the table to get it to correct (then put you can put them back the way you like).

  • Sortingtable clears the forms when the column is clicked for the first time

    Hi All,
    I have text fields which will take the conditions for search and result will be displayed in the sorting table of the same form,
    When the search is done for the first time the result is shown in the sortingTable, but when we click any of the column to get it sorted it clears out the whole screen and shows only the search text fields.But when we do a search again in the same form there after the sort works.it does not clear out.
    This happens for the first search after the form is loaded for the first time from the workflow
    appreciate any solution or suggestion
    Thanks
    Pratheep

    Thanks for your reply, it did not work even after setting the sortEnable,
    The issue i find is when the any column is clixked for sorting for the first time all the form variables even if it is under Expansion is lost, but when we do the search again (even with different criteria) the same page and hit the sort column again the form variables are retained
