BI Publisher Java API not displaying Barcode in PDF Report

Hi Team,
I have used BI Publisher java API in my ADF Application to generate PDF reports. It is not displaying barcodes in the PDF Reports. I have included Code 39 ttf file in my java home as well. Please let me know if any other configuration needs to be done.
I am using jdev version 11.1.2.0.0. Please help me out if anyone knows the solution to this problem.

Image not displaying properly in pdf report

Hi,
I have imported a jpg image on the layout using Reports builder 6i folowing File-Import-Image. Its just a static image. Once i move this report to the server in binary mode and open it from apps(Quote pdf report), the report pdf has the image displayed with half side pitch blank color and the other half side with the actual picture. Can you guide what should i do to display the mage properly.

Resolved this problem.
I had 2 more images in the same report, one jpeg & another one in gif format. I removed the image in gif format, converted it into jpeg format & imported back in report layout. Thus, making all three images in the report in the same format(Jpeg).
Once I have all images of the same format in a report. It works fine.

Not able to Display Barcode in PDF

Hi Gurus
I created a BIP report where in I am displaying a barcode in place of PO number. I selected 3 0f 9 barcode. I have a sample output and trying to view the preview in PDF. It is not displaying barcode in PDF format. How ever it is displaying the barcode in rtf, explorer etc. Please help me in solving this. Am I missing any setup after installing Font and BI Publisher desktop..

Are you able to see the bar-code in pdf output in rtf layout (not thru concurrent request submission)?
Please check the following steps and see if you have missed one of these set-ups in XML Publisher administrator:
XML Publisher Administrator-->Administration
Font File--->Give font file name and Browse the bar code (3 of 9 in your case)--->Apply
Font Mapping-->Mapping Name--->Mapping Code
Type--->FO to PDF--->Apply
Open Tab Create Font Maping
Font Family: Code39-Digits(This name should be exactly the font name which comes in word)
Style: Normal
Weight: Normal
Target Font Type: Truetype
Continue
Font : font file name
Apply
Go to Template Tab
Query for your template
Open Edit Configuration
Click on FO Processing
In Font Mapping set :associate your file
Please let me know if you are still unable to view the barcode.

Barcode not displaying/printing in Crystal Report java viewer

We have written a Crystal report (in Developer XI release 2 with service pack 4 installed) which produces barcode labels. The barcodes are Code 39 barcodes and are generated by printing the string \*data_field\* in a Code 39 barcode font. The asterisk is the character used for the Code 39 start/stop sequence in the barcode font.
In Developer everything works fine and prints out and scans correctly. When we make the report available to our end users in the Crystal Reports java viewer all we get where the barcode should appear is white space on screen or when we print. (The rest of the report behaves correctly).
We have tried a few things and have found that if both asterisks or the starting or ending asterisk is left in a different font (i.e. not the barcode font) then the rest of the string displays and prints in the barcode font. (unfortunately without bot asterisks you don't get a scanable barcode).
Has anyone got any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hello Ludek,
                I have found that the issue is caused by the bold attributes of my field.
                You can try the following and you should encounter the same issue:
                                - Create a Report
                                - Create a formula with many characters
                                - Put you field in Times New Roman bold 8.
                The following Font Size in Times New Roman are in issue: 5 u2013 8 u2013 11- 14
                The following Font Size in Arial are in issue: 8 u2013 11 u2013 12 u2013 14

Java Applet not displaying in Internet Explorer Options

For some reason my Internet Explorer browser is refusing to use Java. I've installed IE 8 and reinstalled the Java application, yet when I go to check the IE Options, the Java Applet does not even display as a selectable option. It works just fine in Firefox, which is what baffles me. As a direct result of this, my Java Desktop applications aren't working properly either. I have one that creates custom playing cards and I can change the backgrounds and view all my cards, but it will not save the information, an error of which I believe to be related to how Java isn't working with IE 8.
Any ideas? I've made sure that my virus protection is up to date. I'm at my wits end.

I'm having this exact or a very similar issue on Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) laptop with JRE 1.6.0_17

Only thing I can think of is that I've installed both the 32 bit and 64 bit JRE on this machine so I can have Java on both IE 32 bit an IE 64 bit.

Java apps not displaying correctly

I'm having a problem with Java apps, as they seem to simply not display correctly. They are supposed to be Aqua, but it doesn't exactly work, since the actual controls don't appear, but besides that the program seems to carry out what it's supposed to (besides not displaying it correctly.)
I tried removing some Java-related setting files and stuff, but it still doesn't exactly work as it should.

The problem isn't with the Window Manager you use, but the java runtime you have installed. If you have openjdk6 installed, try removing it and install jre and jdk instead. If you have jre and jdk installed, install openjdk6 and see what happens.
I think you're using openjdk6, since I remember hearing problems using it and topcoder.

TCA Java APIs not able to validate input against LOOKUP table

Hi there,
I am using the TCA Java APIs to create new source system references like so:
HzOrigSystemRefPub wrapper = new HzOrigSystemRefPub();
wrapper.createOrigSystemReference(connection, "T", record, x_return_status, x_msg_count, x_msg_data);
The record has the following attributes set:
l_orig_sys_reference_rec.created_by_module := 'TCA_V2_API';
l_orig_sys_reference_rec.owner_table_name := 'HZ_PARTIES';
When I run my java code however, the call returns an error saying that the values I have mentioned in the above two attributes were not in my lookup tables:
1. Value for owner_table_name must be a value defined in lookup type TCA_OWNER_TABLE.
2. Value for created_by_module must be a value defined in lookup type HZ_CREATED_BY_MODULES.
When I run queries directly against the database in SQLDeveloper, I am able to find these values. They do exist.
For some reason, when using the Java API, it cannot find the lookup values.
I even tried calling the PL/SQL API from Java and the same problem exists.
Is this a bug?
Can anyone please help me?

OK, solved my own problem.
The solution is to set the language environment variable to 'AMERICAN'.
It's a known bug.
Set it from your Java code like this:
OracleCallableStatement setter =
-------(OracleCallableStatement)connection.prepareCall(
-------"ALTER SESSION SET NLS_LANGUAGE = 'AMERICAN'");
setter.execute();
Now any calls after this statement to the Java APIs will work.

I have "Show console" enabled in my Java Preferences Panel and the latest version of Java from Oracle installed. Running Mavericks 10.9.3. For some reason my Java console is not showing up?

Xml publisher graph is not displaying

Hi All,
I have created xml report which is having graph .It display through oracle apps(conc pgrm ) properly in test instance but after moving to production graph is not displaying .for that i have checked Xserver setup also everything is working fine.
Can any body tell me other possible reason and solution urgently .

Hi,
Use <?start:body?> for defining your header and it will repeat on every page.
Also add <?end body?> as closing, for footer logic.

Actual Text is displayed instead of Barcode in PDF report

Hi All,
I have used the Java class "oracle.apps.xdo.batch.DocumentProcessor" to create a PDF report. The "rtf" template contains barcode , When generating the report from standalone the PDF file contains the actual value instead of the Barcode.
I have used the font "3OF9.TTF"
Please update if anyone know the solution.

According to your description, my understanding is that when you click the item in Managed Navaigtion to a Page, the Page title space displays as the "%2520".
The issue is related to the html element is being double encorded, here is a similiar thread for your reference:

Why a field with javascript formula is not displaying result on .pdf form

I have created a .pdf form from an exel file.
I have assigned java script formula such as
if (QtyRow1 > 0) { QtyRow1, €UPRow1;}else{€TotalPriceRow1="";}
Problem is, result is not displayed on form.
What should I do?

your own syntax and expect it to work...

Webi snapshot not displaying selected drillfilters of report

I am using business objects enterprise xi 3.1 fixpack 1.5 (12.1.5.1096) on the Java Platform.
I have created a web intelligence report with drillfilters that used as a dropdown selection at the top of the report. one contains a list of countries for instance.
I have the following in a cell within the header to display the selection of the filter:
= If DrillFilters([Country Name])="" Then "All Countries" Else DrillFilters([Country Name])
If no country is selected then the header displays "All Countries" or the name of the country that was selected.
This works great except for when a user takes a "snapshot" of the report with a drillfilter selected using the camera icon at the top right corner of infoview;
the drillfilter selection data does not display in the header of teh snapshot version of the report; it defaults to all....which is very confusing to a user try to create different sceanrios to analyze with the snapshot tool.
Is there a way to correct this behaviour?

Scott,
One behaviour that can occur next after clicking on the camera is to next navigate to the new tab and immediately hit the "start drill mode" icon. Once the "start drill mode" icon is activated, the cell within the header to display the selection of the filter will appear.

Java API or Web Service for PDF generator for PostScript?

Hello Guys,
We acquired the evaluation version of the LiveCycle PDF generator for PostScript software and are in the process of acquiring information regarding the web-service / java api option but we can't seem to find extensive documentation or sample code.
The provided documentation gives some information on the different methods that can be used for web service but nothing extensive on how to use them properly in context. The documentation mentions java code samples on the developer ressource but I can't seem to get my hands on anything useful.
I looked around for quite some time on the developer ressource site but I must say it is not very easy to use. We are buried under a ton of useless information and the search functionality doesn't seem to yield interresting results.
Are we missing something obvious?

Hi Jeff, I am in the exact same situation... I've been trying to find a document, just an overall user guide for the tool... nothing.
Even on the phone no one was able to answer me where that doc was. Does it exist?
Has anyone found a doc containing the information describing the APIs and on how to use the Web Services? Jeff, did you find something usefull yet?
