Big gap in IE7

Hello
Can someone help get rid of an unwanted gap? In IE7 a large
gap appears at the bottom of the page between main div and the
footer, In safari and Firefox it appears as solid block (which is
how I want it) how can I get rid of the gap in IE7??

Giving your DIVs "layout" should work:

Place this between your opening and closing <head>
tags. Also, move your
Google Urchin script inside this section block as well.

Layout Breaks are inserting a big gap in my document

Inserting a Layout Break before and after an area of a page that needs to be in two columns leaves about 25 points of space above and below the columned area. This space is unaffected by paragraph spacing, line spacing, etc. It just occurs with the layout formatting. Why? This big gap in my document is throwing off the overall formatting. How do I make it smaller/go away? Any ideas much appreciated!

You might try clicking on the Layout inspector > Layout button, and take a look at the Before setting. Reduce the number there and the space should reduce correspondingly.

How can I fix nav bar that wraps to next line, leaving big gap?

I have 2 lines of menu items in the navigation bar (Formal theme) when I'm in iWeb, but it wraps to 3 lines in various browsers, leaving a big gap at the end of the 1st and 2nd line where a short menu item could easily fit. Here's an example:

The menu item "Links" could easily fit on the previous line. Thanks for your help.

Have you tried clicking of the navbar object and enlarging the window by dragging? You could also resize the page size to the Apple suggested 980 pixels which is what the iPhone uses. Then you could resize the navbar object to get the appearance you want.

You are using an old-fashioned <br> to clear floats, which no longer appear to be on your page . If you have reason to keep that BR tag, change your clear rule to:
.clear {
clear:both;
height: 0px;
line-height: 0px;
font-size: 0px;
display: block;
If you want to remove it, this is the code to remove:
"<br class="clear" />
Also, you are using our old Equal Heights Column script, which was retired. Since there are no columns using it, you can remove the script link and the onload intitializer on the body tag.If you ever need equal height columns and do not want to bother with background images, you can email us and we can suggest more modern solutions.

Change to maps has big gaps

Before the changeover to Apple Maps, Find my iPhone via icloud.com would show exactly where devices were. Now, since last month, it starts out about a mile away. Then you zoom in and the locations change- as well as the map is in chunks with gray grids in between them. For instance, now I ran it when the devices are in the house. I zoom in and it shows my house/buildings/yard split up with gray strips in between and some buildings are appearing in multiple chunks. It shows one device in a gray strip and another out by the barn. Why is the map broken up into repeating squares?
I know other people are complaining about Apple Maps not having completely updated streets or buildings labeled, but my problem is not with minor inaccuracies, it is with being unable to even have a decent map AT ALL.

I have the same problem on my MacBook in Chrome. I've tried clearing cached images and files with no improvement. This problem seems to have started within the past week or two. Prior to that the map worked fine.
In Safari and Firefox, the map looks fine today. But I could have sworn that Safari had the same problem a few days ago.
It looks fine on my iPhone in the Find my Phone app.
This is what it looks like in Chrome. No matter what my zoom level or geographic area, the map has gaps and duplicated areas.

How Do I Remove This Gap?

Hey guys,
I need some help with a page please. How do I get rid of the
gap in IE7 between the bottom of the Spry bar and the image
immediately below it? The gap is not there in FF. Not sure about
IE6. The Spry bar is in a non-editable region of a template. The
image is in an editable region called "Banner."

Slideshow is causing odd blank gap underneath that I cannot get rid off

I went to change out the HOME page of a website I built in MUSE months back, and when I switched out images in the Slideshow (which I have done numerous times), there is now a big gap underneath that does not show up in DESIGN or PREVIEW mode, but only when Published. I tried settings, redoing the slideshow, messing around with the parts underneath to see what was triggering the gap. Nothing is working to fix this. I am at a loss. Any ides?

If the issue persists, try a Cmd/Ctrl + A on the page in Design mode and look for any transparent objects placed on the page leading to a block of whitespace below the slideshow. If that doesn't help, please share the site URL.

Big space in front of hyperlinks.

Everywhere I have a hyperlink in the html files, javahelp puts a big space in front of it. This leaves big gaps in a sentence that has a word that is a hyperlink.
Any idea what causes this? Or any way to prevent it?

It looks a lot different on different platforms.

BoxLayout : unslightly gaps betw vertical components?

Hi, all.
I've this BoxLayout with PAGE_AXIS alignment, it works, but there is this big gap between the components vertically. The components are self-defined and consists a pair of JLabel and JTextArea.
How do I pack the components tighter vertically?

This might explain it. I put a border around the JLabel + JTextArea pair defined by the custom helper class LabeledTextField, and it seems LabeledTextField forces a rigid area around it.
Is this because LabeledTextField extends JPanel ???
If so how do I get rid of the rigid area enforced by JPanel ???

Flash Container...to big when viewing SWF files

I have used Flash Professional CS5.5, to make a SWF.file, that when I save as all, it also includes a FLA file. I use this SWF file in Dreamweaver CS5.5 , Insert , Media, to view this I have set the Parameters name .swf, . When I select Live View, all runs ok, but how do you make the Flash grey box smaller that keep the swf pictures the same size….when I change any of the widths and heights the banner sow with very small pictures.

Gaps between images

Link #1 looks good in Safari, Chrome, Firefox and IE.

Gaps in Identity Range

Hi All,
We're experiencing a weird phenomenon with identity range management presently and wondered if anyone had any ideas on why it's happening and how to fix.
We are using Merge Replication and 5 subscribers.
When we look at the table that holds the identity ranges (i.e. range_begin, range_end, next_range_start and next_range_end) we see that there appears to be a big gap in the middle of the identity range on the constraint.
This is an example of what I mean...
([ID]>(13018108) AND [ID]<=(13118108) OR [ID]>(16818108) AND [ID]<=(16918108))
Anyone any ideas as to what caused this?
I understood that the primary and secondary ranges where allocated thus.
A --> B and B --> C
and not...
A -- B and X--> Y

That is strange - they are supposed to be contiguous blocks. ie
([ID]>(13018108) AND [ID]<=(13118108) OR [ID]>(13118108)
AND [ID]<=(13218108))
Is this the case for both publisher and subscriber ranges? i.e. the primary and secondary ranges should be contiguous regardless of whether it is a publication database or subscriber database?
Let's assume the ranges on the publication database for a specific table are as follows:
([ID]>(13018108) AND [ID]<=(13118108) OR [ID]>(16818108) AND [ID]<=(16918108))
Let's also assume that the last ID used in the table is 13118108 and the ID column is being incremented by 1.
If an application tries to insert let's say 30 rows, I assume the insert would fail... Or, would the identity range constraint be automatically adjusted to allow the insert if the application was inserting as either the 'sa' user or as a member of the 'db_owner'
role?
Do you have any idea what might cause the gaps in the ranges?
Would you recommend reseeding the identity ranges?
Is manually editing the identity range check constraint an option?

Music stopping and starting, huge gaps between songs

I listen to music via Match daily. Beginning last month I've been experiencing music stopping and starting, big gaps between tracks, and clunky behavior in general. It's comes and goes but over the last week it's been terrible. Is anyone experiencing this? I have tried re-initializing match on my iPhone but it doesn't seem to work.

Go to Edit > Preferences > Playback. Turn off crossfading if enabled...
iTunes will attempt to play tracks that were recorded gaplessly without adding an artifical gap, it won't attempt to remove the gaps between tracks that were there in the original recording, unless you've enabled crossfade. You can't make it add gaps to what should be gapless transitons on the album. If you really need this you could make a playlist and include blank mp3s as a separator.
