Binding a view or query to list\table

Hi,
Using NetBeans 6.1
I managed to easily connect tables to a jTable element, but fail to connect to table (or list) a view or a free sql query. I'm working with MySQL and NB6.1.
What is the procedure to do the above?

The main problem in creating business classes with the data is that I can't load the whole of the DB to classes, there are many related types of them and also a lot of rows.
So here you have to deice:
1) load the whole DB at once on load - then you work fast and have all in business classes easy to work with, but then it will be a mess updating back on save since you don't know what has change and you need to get derty with transactions and such creatures.
2) Work with data "on demand" - forget classes, just put in GUI the data you need. works fast all the time, less problems with transactions issues and enables wasy work with row locking. Then updating you need a very understandable code which probably has bugs, since it is not business logic oriented code, but DB structure oriented.Your thinking is wrong.
1. Just because there are relations between business objects doesn't mean you have to load all of them into memory when one is selected. You can, for example, do "lazy" fetches, and retrieve related business objects the first time you navigate the relationship.
2. All interactions with a database should take place within transactions -- there is nothing "dirty" about using transactions.
3. Working with data "on demand", if I can guess what that ought to mean, doesn't imply throwing OOP design principles out the window.
I think you need to learn about a persistence framework, like Hibernate . Many of the things you worry about, like " will be a mess updating back on save since you don't know what has change" are cleanly solved by it.

  • Query to list tables with a particular column name in a schema!!

Is there any way to know?
    Thanks in advance.

You can query the data dictionary views to get this information.
    For example
    untested
    select table_name
    from user_tab_columns
where column_name = 'my particular column name';There is also all_tab_columns and dba_tab_columns. Both of which would include the schema name.

    Hi,
I am getting Class Cast Exception when using view criteria for ADF Query Panel with Table. The version I am using is 11g Release 1(11.1.1.2.0)

    1. created a view criteria on a view object
    2. all are optional
    3. all are Strings
    3. Dragged the view criteria as a query component (ADF Query panel with Query table) on to the design layout

I can pick my query from the "Saved Search" pick list on the QueryPanel list of queries just fine, and it sets up the filter properly, but when I press the "Search" button, I get the same reported error...

  • BPM Payload bind to adf query panel with table

    hi guys,
i have a requirement to process all result row in the table to my bpm process.
i have a bpm taskflow and already defined the payload xml.
in the taskflow UI, i hv a adf query panel with table from a criteria View object.
how can i bind the search result to the bpm payload ?
i tried to bind it directly, but it turns out error.
or do you hv a better approach to this requirement, so i can add/remove row in table dynamically ?
    i use bpm 11.1.1.6
    thanks before.

Could you give some more details ?
Do you require that all the rows in the ADF based results table are passed on to the BPM payload ?

  • List tables and column names a stored procedure is querying

    Hello,
Is there a way to list tables and column names that a stored procedure is querying, i.e, selecting from, using T-SQL?  If yes, is there a way to also show data types for the columns that a stored procedure is querying, i.e, selecting from?
    Thank you,
    Lenfinkel

One way to view the dependencies of an object is to use SSMS; navigate to the object, right click and select "view dependencies".  However this does not tell you what columns are being referenced by the Stored Procedure.
One way to view what is being referenced by a stored procedure is to run something like
    select
    text
    from syscomments
    where
    id in
    (select id
    from sysobjects
    where
    name
    =[Your Object Name]
    And xtype
    in
    ('p','P')

The Miscellaneous is located in the contact list that you used for the connection.
So , you need to edit the page, then edit the contact list that you used, in the web part properties of the contact list, you will find Miscellaneous, then expand it and select ‘Server Render’ .
    I hope this helps.

  • View object query bind variable

I have a bind variable in my view object query and "Required" is unchecked for it. Due to this JUnits are failing with the Missing IN or OUT parameter error. If I set the bind variable as required, the JUnits run fine.
But this bind variable is also used in several view criterias where it is set as Optional. So if I set the bind variable in the view object query as Required, will it affect the view criterias as well?

  • How to get the list of database Views modifying the DB tools list tables.vi

    Hi,
I have a problem, I just started using LabVIEW and in particular the LabVIEW connectivity toolkit and I am lookig fgor suggestion regarding how to get the list of database Views modifying the DB tools list tables.vi...
    Thanks in advance,
    Michela

    Hi Michela,
since the VI you want to modify is part of a Toolkit, I suggest you to copy the whole block diagram in a new VI and then save it in a new location.
Place the DB List Tables.vi on a block diagram, double click on it and go to the tab "Window -> Show Block Diagram "
Select "Edit -> Select All" to select the whole block diagram and select "Edit -> Copy"
Open a new VI and select "Edit -> Paste"
    Save the new VI
In this way you can modify everything you want without overwriting the Toolkits VIs.
    Hope this can help.

  • Query to obtain tables in SH schema using data-dictionary views/tables.

    Hi,
I have just installed Oracle 10g Database. Logged on to SQL Plus by scott (changed the password as prompted).
I want to see the tables in SH schema (which comes by default with Oracle 10g database).
The problem, I am facing is:
I can see the schema name: SH in the result of the below query:
    SELECT * FROM ALL_USERS
but, nothing is returned in the result of the below query:
    SQL> SELECT OWNER FROM ALL_TABLES WHERE OWNER='SH';
    Result: no rows selected.
    Why is this happening?
What will be the correct query to obtain tables present in SH schema ?
    Thanks in Advance & Regards,

    conn /as sysdba
    SQL> select table_name from dba_tables where owner='SH';
I think the user SCOTT have no privilege to see SH schema tables through all_tables view.

I need a query to list all table names and

  • PLEASE SEND ME SQL query to list ALL CONSTRAINTS ON EMPLOYEES TABLE FROM OU

PLEASE SEND ME SQL query to list ALL CONSTRAINTS ON EMPLOYEES TABLE FROM OUTSIDE PP SCHEMA INCLUDING SCHEMA NAME AND CONSTraint NAME
    Username : PP
    Table : Employees

I think you are looking for below query :
    SQL> SHOW USER;
    USER is "SCOTT"
    SQL> select owner,constraint_name,constraint_type,table_name,r_owner,r_constraint_name
      2    from all_constraints
      3    where constraint_type='R'
      4   and r_constraint_name in (select constraint_name from all_constraints
      5    where constraint_type in ('P','U') and table_name='EMP');
    OWNER                          CONSTRAINT_NAME                C TABLE_NAME                     R_OWNER                        R_CONSTRAINT_NAME
    TEST1                          ERL_EMP_FK_1                   R EMPLOYEE                       SCOTT                          PK_EMP
1 row selected.Means, TEST1 user is having a constraint ERL_EMP_FK_1 on his table EMPLOYEE. Which is using PK_EMP (primary key of SCOTT user's 'EMP' [in the query])

    Hi,
    Try the alternate Methods,
    ACCESS VIA SUBQUERY.
SELECT * FROM MKPF AS M INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF SWAP
                                        WHERE  BUDAT IN BUDAT AND
                                               MBLNR IN MBLNR AND
                                               VGART = 'WA' AND
EXISTS ( SELECT * FROM MSEG
                                                        WHERE MBLNR = M~MBLNR
                                                        AND   MJAHR = M~MJAHR
                                                       AND   WERKS = P_WERKS
    AND matnr IN so_matnr
    AND lgort IN so_lgort
    AND matkl IN so_matkl.
        APPEND SWAP.CLEAR SWAP.
      ENDSELECT.
      LOOP AT SWAP.
        SELECT  * FROM MSEG
                                 WHERE MBLNR = SWAP-MBLNR AND
                                        MJAHR = SWAP-MJAHR AND
          IF SY-SUBRC EQ 0.
            MOVE-CORRESPONDING SWAP TO ITAB.
            MOVE-CORRESPONDING MSEG TO ITAB.
            APPEND ITAB.CLEAR ITAB.
            CLEAR MSEG.
          ENDIF.
        ENDSELECT.
        CLEAR : SWAP,ITAB.
      ENDLOOP.
    Try this,
    SELECT budat
    matnr
    menge
    bwart
    meins
    bwtar
    waers
    dmbtr
    shkzg
    matkl
    FROM zmkpfmseg
INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE it_mseg
    WHERE budat GE r_ytd-low
    AND matnr IN so_matnr
    AND lgort IN so_lgort
    AND matkl IN so_matkl.
    delete it_mseg where WERKS NE p_WERKS .
    Reward Points if helpful.
