Binding port 80 to a webserver not apple sharing(not apache)

Hello i am stuck. i was wondering how can i run a webserver on my laptop on 127.0.0.1:80. i am trying to do this for software development testing using eclipse and resin under 10.5.4. i keep getting this error
java.net.BindException: Can't assign requested address
Can't bind to adminv2.inq.com/127.0.0.1:80.
Check for another server listening to that port.
i tried running eclipse using sudo but still no luck. if anyone has an idea on how i can make this work i would appreciate it. thanks...

What did you do to solve the problem? I'm having the same issue and as far as I can tell, nothing is already running on port 80.

  • Need Apache to only bind port 80 to one IP and not all

So as the subject says, I need to have apache only bind port 80 on one IP address. I have a Wowza streaming server that also wants port 80 but for a different IP, but I can't get apache from taking all IP's. Any help would be great. Thanks!

I have never seen this not work, but I'll take your word for it.
If Server Admin isn't doing it then you'll have to look at your config files manually and change them if needed.
If you're running Apache 2 then you need to look at /etc/apache2/httpd.conf and the files in /etc/apache2/sites
For each file you're looking for you want to find either a <VirtualHost> or a <Listen> directive of *:80 and change it to to specific IP address you want it to use.

If you already have IIS web server running, you need to run the LabVIEW web server on a different port to avoid conflicts. It probably won't start because the port 80 is already in use.
Check options.."Web Server: Configuration" within LabVIEW.

  • MultiServer peoplesoft PIA Domain doesnt start; failed to bind, port in use

Multi Server PIA Domain does not start (failed to bind, port in use)
    Default (Peoplesoft) PIA multi server domain installation;
After the setup we cannot start PIA and both PIA/ PIA2 cluster. One of them fails with error message about port conflict, port already in use.
I 've been installing this kind of PIA's many times before. But this is the first install with Peopletools 8.49.19 and BEA Weblogic 9.2 mp3, P4.
To bypass the problem we have NOT started the PIA1, PIA2 "servers" But that is a unwanted situation. Reinstalling and reconfiguring did not help.
The odd thing is that on all previous installed PIA’s for different tools versions and peoplesoft applications we run here (on different servers) we do not run into the same errors. I am quite sure that on those servers where it works fine we only use port 443 for both PIA, PIA1 and PIA2.
Since it’s not the port, I expect it the listen address to be the cause. I played around with IP address, fqdn, ip 127.0.0.1 (for PIA2 only) but nothing seems to work as the previous installations.
    web PIA multi server domain
    I start in sequence:
    startWebLogicAdmin.cmd
    startManagedWebLogic.cmd PIA
    startManagedWebLogic.cmd PIA1 and
    startManagedWebLogic.cmd PIA2
the admin is running and the console can be reached.
the PIA just starts fine (running) zie log below (PIA_log)
when staring PIA1 it shuts down hust before comming up.

Hi there. We solved the issue by adding a second IP address to the same NIC and filled in all listen addresses accordingly in the BEA admin console. This did not answer the initial behavior but is a BEA advised solution in a multi server configuration. I am still very much interested in the cause of the behavior change between 8.1 and 9.2 since adding a second IP address is a more costly solution which was NOT necessary in weblogic8.1

  • [Forum FAQ] How to tell if the DAC port is automatically changed or not

    Introduction
    Per Books Online:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms189595.aspx
SQL Server listens for the DAC on TCP port 1434 if available or a TCP port dynamically assigned upon Database Engine startup.
Also, we can go to the following registry to specify the DAC port number manually:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL11.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQLServer\SuperSocketNetLib\AdminConnection\Tcp
The error log contains the port number the DAC is listening on. Besides looking at the error log, how to find which port is used by DAC connection and how to tell if the DAC port is manually set by us or assigned automatically by SQL Server?
    Solution
The following query can be used to check if there is an existing DAC connection and it also give us the port number used by dedicated admin connection.
    SELECT name,local_tcp_port FROM sys.dm_exec_connections ec
    join sys.endpoints e
    on (ec.endpoint_id=e.endpoint_id)
    WHERE e.name='Dedicated Admin Connection'
Here is the scenario to test if the DAC port is automatically changed or not.
There are two instances are running on one server. I specified the same DAC port number 5555 for the two SQL Server instances by modifying the registry
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL11.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQLServer\SuperSocketNetLib\AdminConnection\Tcp
Opened the DAC connection to instance 1. Executed the above query, it returns the result:
    name
    local_tcp_port
    Dedicated Admin Connection               5555
Then, opened a DAC connection to instance 2. It throw out the following error message:
Sqlcmd: Error: Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 11.0 : Client unable to establish connection because an error was encountered during handshakes before login.
Common causes include client attempting to connect to an unsupported version of SQL Server, server too busy to accept new connections or a resource limitation (memory or maximum allowed connections) on the server..
Sqlcmd: Error: Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 11.0 : TCP Provider: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine..
Sqlcmd: Error: Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 11.0 : Client unable to establish connection.
Sqlcmd: Error: Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 11.0 : Client unable to establish connection due to prelogin failure.
The above error message was thrown out because the DAC port number 5555 was not available for instance 2 which was occupying by instance 1. After restarting the SQL Server engine service of instance 2, if checking in the registry, you would see a new DAC port
number has been assigned to the second instance.
Then, the DAC connection to instance 2 succeed this time and executed the above query, it returned the same port number which is same as the one in the registry key and the port number was assigned automatically.
DAC port will not change even SQL Server service is restarted only if the TCP port is available.

  • Child DC cannot Replicate to Parent DC, because of connection errors. MS PortQryUI shows that ports 3268 and 3269 are not listening,

I started a support case with Microsoft to help me with raising the our domain Forest level because i received a message stating that there were Windows 2000 PDC still listed in the database. These PDCs were removed years ago. The tech saw all of the problems
i was having with domain replication so that is where he started. running the MS PortQryUI shows that ports 3268 and 3269 are not listening, (TCP port 3268 (unknown service): NOT LISTENING) when run FROM a Child domain controller against the Parent
Domain controller. Between the 2 Child domain controllers these ports are listening.
The Windows firewall is not running on any of the controllers, i removed a virus protect client from all of the servers, although i didn't enable the firewall there either, but these ports are still not listening on the Parent DC.
I need help debugging this. I am not very familiar with network sniffers so if i need to run one i'll need some guidance. This DC only has one NIC, all IP addresses are static, all servers are setup like this. All servers are in the same subnet, on the same
lan, on the same cisco switch, there shouldn't be anything blocking this port from starting.
I looked over other post that show this same problem, but they don't give a solution. If i am not using the Windows firewall why wouldn't these ports be open?
Any ideas? web searches are all over the map on trying to find the reason for this.
    Bobby

Try running the below command on the DCs that you think have the ports blocked or all the DCs.
    netdiag /test:ipsec /debug > c:\dcname-ipseclog.log
Open that from the C drive and see if there is anything saying block or filters.
Also, just for kicks have you disabled the firewall service on the DCs?
And just for kicks have you tried enabling firewalls ports on all the DCs?  The KB is below
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555381/en-us
    Step 1 - netdiag results
Step 2 - disable the firewall service on all DCs if step 1 was negative
Step 3 - enable the firewalls on all DCs per KB 555381 if step 2 doesn't work
Let us know how it goes!

  • Source port type for BPELProcess does not match target port type for EJB

    Hi gurus,
I have a problem with calling EJBs from a 11.1.1.3 composite. The following summarizes the issue:
    - there are several EJBs within the same package deployed on a WLS server.
    - these beans have method names that are the same, for example create(), delete() etc.
    - using the EJB Service Adapter I have created 3 References, one for each of the 3 beans I need to invoke in a BPEL process.
    - each bean is imported into the project with their own *.wsdl *Ref.wsdl files.
    - each wsdl imports a namespace based on the java package name
    - now i have 3 wsdls, importing the same namespace and namespace conflicts arise.
At this point I'm thinking, 'no problem, just change the namespaces manually'
    - whenever i try to change the namespace that JDev gives the Reference components I end up with the compilation error:
Source port type for "BPELProcess" does not match target port type for "EJBRef"
It seems that the namespace must be the same as the package name, even though I resolved all the references to the new namespaces and ensure they all match.
The problem appears to be in the BPELProcess.componentType file.
    <reference name="HelloEJBRef" ui:wsdlLocation="HelloEJBRef.wsdl">
    <interface.wsdl interface="http://package.workspace.com/HelloEJB#wsdl.interface(HelloEJB)"/>
    </reference>
If the namespace (text before the #) is changed at all from the default, even if it matches the wsdl, results in the port type mismatch error above.
    Any ideas?

  • Change binding port of Xserver rather than 6000

    Hi Sysop,
Can we change the binding port of Xserver rather than port number 6000 ?
And how we can make it done ?
    Thanks.

    Hi
The configuration files for the Xserver on your host should be in
    /etc/dt/config/Xconfig
    /etc/dt/config/Xservers
If these files have never been customised or don't exist you can copy the default versions of
    these files from
    /usr/dt/config/Xconfig
    /usr/dt/config/Xservers
to /etc/dt/confi, you can then edit them.
From your post it's unclear what you are trying to do, however the 2 config files above have
quite a bit of useful information in them about the various settings for the Xserver.
    regards

  • My problem is that one of the USB ports and the device does not detect this and inactive but can not find how to reactivate.Help me please! greetings thanks!

Hello good evening, I have a MacBook Pro and my problem is that one of the USB ports and the device does not detect this and inactive but can not find how to reactivate.
    Help me please! greetings thanks!

Do you have the Firefox new tab page but the actual sites are missing, or do you have some other page?
If you have some different page, try the quick fix in Fred McD's reply.
If the sites are missing, did you use the Reset feature? That will clear the storage associated with the new tab page. I'm not sure it's possible to recover from that; you probably need to rebuild your page from scratch as you browse.
For possible future reference, here is how to access the hidden setting for the page to display on new tabs:
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''newtab''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Double-click the '''browser.newtab.url''' preference and enter your preferred page:
    * ''Page thumbnails (default)'' => about:newtab
    * ''Blank tab'' => about:blank
    * ''Built-in Firefox home page'' => about:home
    * ''Any other page'' => full URL to the page
Press Ctrl+t to open a new tab and verify that it worked. Fixed?
    Some gotchas:
''If Firefox won't let you edit this setting:'' you may have something called SearchProtect on your system.
''If Firefox lets you save your change but ignores it:'' one of your extensions may be overriding it. You can review, disable, and/or remove extensions on the add-ons page:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > ''in the left column click'' Extensions
''If the change works during your session, but at the next startup is back to an unwanted page:'' you might have a user.js file in your personal Firefox settings folder (your Firefox profile folder). This article describes how to track down and remove the file: [[How to fix preferences that won't save]].

  • Apple sharing on mac os X

    Hi,
I have a 3rd generation apple tv and an imac with osX with the latest Itunes it has which is 10.6.3. Apple sharing is not working on it, so I can't see any pictues or movies stored on my computer. Are the 2 compatible or am I wasting my time and now have an expensive paper weight?
Any help on how to get the 2 working together appreciated.

Thanks for all your replies, but can someone please tell me if my OS and Itunes will work with Apple tv or am I wasting my time trying solve the problem?
Sorry if it sounds rude but I'm tearing my hair out at the moment as I'm not very technically minded and usually just hit things with a hammer to make them work.
