Bing Maps REST route service - java classes

I am able to use the WSDL to generate the classes required to hit the SOAP Web Service.  But it appears that the classes generated using the SOAP service do not match the classes used for the REST service.  How
can I generate the Java classes required for hitting the REST Route Web Service.  I am able to call the REST service and get an XML or JSON response, but having issues creating the objects with the data returned.

The REST and SOAP services are completely different. The SOAP services were created about 8 years ago and the REST services about 4 years ago. The REST services have a bunch more features and functionalities. There are a couple of ways you can consume the
Bing Maps REST services in Java. The first is to manually parse the responses. Here are some examples:
http://javaprogramming.language-tutorial.com/2012/10/geocoding-using-bing-rest-api.html
http://javaprogramming.language-tutorial.com/2012/10/reverse-geocoding-using-bing-rest-api.html
https://ngjon.wordpress.com/2011/05/20/bing-maps-geocoding-rest-service-java-ized/
Alternatively you can create a set of classes that can be used for serializing the responses. I have a set of .NET data contracts for the RST services that can be ported to Java here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj870778.aspx
I also created some tools to parse the REST responses in an Android app a while back. You can find the code for that here:

  • Equivalent of a prepared stmt (with mapping table to a java class) ?

    Hi,
    We can fire raw-sql using SQLCall(). Do we have something similar to make and use prep stmts ?
    If we have mapped tables to some java classes, this cud be done with the use of toplink 'Query' classes.
    But if I dont have anything mapped and want to use the raw-sql kinda method, is it possible to make and use a prep stmt in toplink ?
    Thanks,
    Krishna

    Hi Donald, You are right...I was actually looking for something to use JDBC code directly for these parts. So is there a way to get a java.sql.Connection out of the TopLink session and then fire prepared statements (JDBC code) using that connection ?
    Can we do something like this... (do let me know if this is not the right way to do it at all...or if it is not possible at all)
    ConnectionPool oCP = RuntimeServices.getConnectionPools().elementAt(0); // plz ignore that i assumed pools are returned as Vector
    java.sql.Connection oCon = oCP.getDatabaseLogin().connect(prop); // is it necessary to give prop (since I got it from existing conn pools that are already setup in the server session)
    Thanks,

  • Mapping data model to java classes and Interface.

    Need help in mappning my data model into java classes;
    Here are some of the details:
    Table, Poll:
    PollID int
    PollName varchar
    BusinessUnit varchar
    DisplaySchemeID int // reference to DisplayScheme table.
    Table, DisplayScheme
    DisplaySchemeID
    DisplaySchemeName
    etc
    Table, URL
    UrlID
    UrlName
    UrlDesc
    Table, PollURL
    PollURLID
    PollID
    UrlID
    PublishDate
    etc
    Table, Tag
    TagID
    TagName
    PollID
    So, a POLL is associate with a DisplayScheme.
    A Poll can have many URLs and a URL can be associate with many Polls , mapped in the PollURL table.
    and same is the situation with tags.
    Essentially I want to learn how to do one to many mappning and many to many mapping.
    Also to add, since I plan to use Ibatis for OR mapping.
    So I should a Parameter call to map for creaint a Poll. And to create a poll the form submitted will have:
    - PollName
    - URLs ( multiple )
    - one display scheme.
    - Tags ( many )
    So if you can show how to write a DAO createPoll method, then it would be great.
    Not sure if am asking a lot, but this would be a great example to move forward.

    The below is the sample DAO Class.
    For your case, you have to create your own PollBean with getters and setters and just pass the object to the method
    public int create(Connection con, ProjectBean projectBean) throws SQLException {
              int result = 0;
              String insertQuery = " INSERT INTO" +
                        " M_PROJECT(" +
                        " PROJECT_ID," +
                        " PROJECT_NAME," +
                        " PROJECT_DESCRIPTION) " +
                        " VALUES(?,?,?,?)";
              initPrepareStmt(con, insertQuery);
              setString(projectBean.getProjectID());
              setString(projectBean.getProjectName());
              if(projectBean.getProjectDescription().equals("")){
                   setString(" ");
              }else{
                   setString(projectBean.getProjectDescription());
              result = executeUpdate();
         return result;
         }

  • Mapping Value Objects to Java Classes

    Hi All,
    I have one Java Class:
    public class MyBean {
        private ArrayList numbers;
    I have created one mapping value object for the same in Flex:
    package vo
        import mx.collections.ArrayCollection;
        [RemoteClass(alias="com.tcs.example.MyBean")]
        public class MyBean
            public function MyBean()
            public var numbers:ArrayCollection;
    but when I fetch the object using Remote Object, the returned object has "numbers" as null even though I'm returning from Java a filled ArrayList.
    Does any one know Why is it happening and what should I do for this.
    Thanks in advance

    Do you have getNumbers and setNumbers methods on your java bean?
    Try to activate the logs on blazeDS to see what's going on.

  • Performance of mapping Oracle objects to Java classes

    Hi,
    By retrieving some test data from Oracle database in a Java application, I compared the traditional JDBC/RDBMS solution to JPublisher-generated-classes/Oracle-object-tables solution. The underlaying Oracle database and the client environment was the same in both tests. Although the table schemas were different, they represented the same data.
    It seems that the traditional JDBC/RDBMS solution is much faster. Is this a reality or did I make a mistake somewhere?
    BR,

    I am also facing performance overhead when using Jpub generated
    classes for the object types.
    I am using 817 jdbc and jpub but my database is 816. I have seen
    that following statements each take around 2-3 seconds to
    execute. Is there any communication between driver and database
    to resolve the object type ?
    Please help.

  • Mapping Routing service with a database adapter in ESB

    Hi,
    I have a database adapter configured for a Stored procedure that takes in a XML_TYPE and returns a CLOB. I also have the Schema for request and response, which I have configured in a Routing Service. Now how do I map the Routing Service to the Database adapter.
    The problem I am facing is 'CLOB' is returned as a simple type which can't be mapped to a complex type schema of the Routing Service.
    Also the 'any' tag of the XML_TYPE is not supported by jdeveloper.
    Any suggestions plz....
    Thanks..

    Adapters may have been tesed under load but messages are kept small. Of you adapter keep your messages as small as possible. Try and keep messages under 1MB, if possible.
    If you know Apps will I would stick to using the DB adapter for calling APIs, and Apps adapter for the more complex integrations, e.g. business events, xml gateway. I use DB adapter for concurrent programs, but the apps adapter is good for these integrations as well.
    The reason I used the DB adapter for APIs is because the PL/SQL stub the adapter creates forces you to uses all fields in the APIs. In some case you may only need a handfull out of 100. You get issues when you don't provide values.
    If you are in evaluation stage of products I would recommend Oracle Data Integrator for eBusiness Suite integration if you are implementing batch type interfaces. This is because of the inbuild error handling. It manages batch messages much better. Whereas SOA Suite is designed for single messages so it manges small messages well.
    The best option Oracle offers is Oracle Data Integration Suite, which includes ESB and BPEL.
    cheers

  • Where find java classes corresponding to message mapping and interfaces ?

    Hi

    when i create my objects in Repository, like Message interface and messgae mapping, correspoding to them, java class in created,  where can i see these java classes in the XI's file system,

    Hi sudeep,
    During the installation of Xi we select a database.So all the objetcs and related things that we create in IR and ID will be saved in the database only.I dont know how to check the .class file for each object...
    Check these weblogs from sravya where she has given you the table names where the IR and ID objects are stored:

  • Is it actually ok to use bing maps to project onto webgl 3d models?

    See: http://potree.org/demo/experimental/potree_map_projections/examples/viewer_proj.html
    This is just experimental but I'd love to support Bing in the next stable release.
    The project is a webgl point cloud viewer. Open Source and free to use.

    The Bing Maps tile can be used in custom map controls, however the tiles need to be accessed using a specific method. The URL t the map tiles changes from time to time. This can cause your application to break. To prevent this your application should call
    the Bing Maps Imagery Metadata service when it loads to get the current map tile URL. This also serves as a way to authenticate the usage of the Bing Maps data in your application.
    Documentation
    on this service can be found here:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff701716.aspx
    Making a request to the imagery service like this:
    http://dev.virtualearth.net/REST/V1/Imagery/Metadata/Road?output=json&include=ImageryProviders&key=BingMapsKey
    This will return a response that contains an Image URL property. This URL will look something like this:
    http://ecn.{subdomain}.tiles.virtualearth.net/tiles/r{quadkey}.jpeg?g=129&mkt={culture}&shading=hill&stl=H
    You can then replace the different parts of the URL to create each tile. The subdomain can be a value of t0, t1, t2, t3. Using a different one for each tile request you can increase performance by get around browser URL request limits
    i.e. many browsers allow up to 8 concurrent requests to the same domain. Using subdomains allows up to 8 requests per subdomain. The culture value can be any value that is documented under the imagery section here:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh441729.aspx The quadkey value can be calculated based on the zoom level and the tile you wish to render. Information on the tile system along with
    some useful code can be found here:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb259689.aspx
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa940990.aspx
    In addition to this, the query will also return information on the imagery providers and copyright information which should be displayed with the imagery.
    Licensing queries can be sent here:

  • GetUserPrincipalName() in application module or Java class?

    Hi,
    in my application I have a web service as Java class (POJO) which invoke the business logic in an application module.
    The web service is secured with basic HTTP authentication with JAZN in 10.1.2 which works without any problems.
    This means that all configurations with JAZNUserManager and web.xml (user-role-mappings) are correct.
    But what is the right API to get the user informations of the web service consumer with JAZN? I mean a method like getUserPrincipalName()?
    One way I tried is getUserPrincipalName() in the application module.
    - The steps in http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/bc4j/bc4jvpdjaas.html#authentication for BC4J must be configured.
    - Then the application module can be tested with the Component Browser http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/bc4j/bc4jvpdjaas.html#running
    But my web service client delivers this exception:
    JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: oracle.jbo.JboException, msg=JBO-33021: Failed authenticate user null at
    This is equivalent to Application Module Security but there is no answer.
    What´s the problem?
    Is there a way to get the getUserPrincipalName() in the web service (Java class (POJO)) directly?
    Best regards,
    Tobias

    Hello,
    You are a standard way to do that by retrieving the ServletEndpointContext that is available from the the Service context
    To get this you have to:
    1- Implement the[i]javax.xml.rpc.server.ServiceLifecycle; (usually your implementation class)
    2- Implement the init(object context) method
    public void init(Object context) {
    _servletEndpointContext = (ServletEndpointContext)context;
    3. Then when needed you can call the getUserPrincipal
    if (_servletEndpointContext.getUserPrincipal() != null) {
    java.security.Principal userPrincipal = _servletEndpointContext.getUserPrincipal();
    System.out.println( userPrincipal.getName() );
    I have tested this code with WS-Security username token authentication, should be available also using basic auth. Let me know if you have any issue.

  • XSLT Mapping with Java class not working in Integration Repository

    Hi,
    I have an XSLT mapping program with Java enhancement and I was able to successfully tested it in Stylus Studio. However, when I imported the Java class and the xslt program in Enterprise Service Builder and tested it, my program does not compile.
    Here is the error message: "Transformer Configuration Exception occurred when loading XSLT mapping_temp.xsl; details: Could not compile stylesheet".
    My java program is in a zip file containing SOAPHeaderHandler.java and SOAPHeaderhandler.class. My Java has a package com.nga.xslt.
    Here is the declaration of my Java class in the XSLT: xmlns:javamap="java:com.nga.xslt.SOAPHeaderHandler"
    It seems that it could not read the java class. Can you please advice what is wrong?

    Hi ,
    select XMLTOOLKIT option in Operation mapping and execute it.
    I am not sure we can call java program in XSLT Program,but alternative is copy the code and use it in XSLT mapping it self,that means your XSLT program will become with JAVA extensions.
    then in Operation mapping level select SAPXMLTOOL kit option and execute it. i hope it will work. if it is not working then you have deploy some JAXP files on server,because the way execution of XSLT Mpaping program got changed,like when eve you executing XSLT with extnasions( if you are not using XMLTOOL kit option) then you have to use latest version of JAXP.JDK files.

  • Parse errors while creating a Web service from Java class!

    Can anybody tell me please, is it possible to create a Web Service from java class where the input from user is required ?
    I have the following program, which is successfully compiled, but when I'm trying to make a web service in JDeveloper, the following error occurs:
    "Validation failed.

    Hi,
    Can anybody tell me please, is it possible to create
    a Web Service from java class where the input from
    user is required ?Yes, the parameters of your method will be mapped in WSDL.
    But i've some considerations about your code.
    I suggest you change the name of isPrime do Prime, its a good code convention to put the name of class starting with Upper case. and isn't good the name of class equals to name of method.
    I suggest you to change the "static boolean isPrime (int n)" to "public boolean isPrime(int n)" to publish a method as a WebService method it's must be public and not static. After this change try to generate your Web Service.
    Regards.

    At runtime sometimes the mapping fails however when executing the mapping from ESR (test operation mapping) with the same payload it is executed succesfully (lookup is to system that is the senderservice of the scenario).
    Anybody a clue.
    Also clearing mapping cache etc. did not solve the problem.

  • Explicity mapping between ActionScript and Java objects for the BlazeDS Messaging Service

    The BlazeDS documentation shows how to explicitly map between ActionScript and Java objects. For example, this works fine for RPC services, e.g.
    import flash.utils.IExternalizable;
    import flash.utils.IDataInput;
    import flash.utils.IDataOutput;
    [Bindable]
    [RemoteClass(alias="javaclass.User")]
    public class User implements IExternalizable {
            public var id : String;
            public var secret : String;
            public function User() {
            public function readExternal(input : IDataInput) : void {
                    id = input.readObject() as String;
            public function writeExternal(output : IDataOutput) : void {
                    output.writeObject(id);
    and
    import java.io.Externalizable;
    import java.io.IOException;
    import java.io.ObjectInput;
    import java.io.ObjectOutput;
    import java.util.HashSet;
    import java.util.Iterator;
    import java.util.Set;
    public class User implements Externalizable {
        protected String id;
        protected String secret;
        public String getId() {
            return id;
        public void setId(String id) {
            this.id = id;
        public String getSecret() {
            return secret;
        public void setSecret(String secret) {
            this.secret = secret;
        public void readExternal(ObjectInput in) throws IOException,
                    ClassNotFoundException {
            id = (String) in.readObject();
        public void writeExternal(ObjectOutput out) throws IOException {
            out.writeObject(id);
    If I called an RPC service that returns a User, the secret is not sent over the wire.  Is it also possible to do this for the messaging service? That is, if I create a custom messaging adapter and use the function below, can I also prevent secret from being sent?
    MessageBroker messageBroker = MessageBroker.getMessageBroker(null);
    AsyncMessage message = new AsyncMessage();
    message.setDestination("MyMessagingService");
    message.setClientId(UUIDUtils.createUUID());
    message.setMessageId(UUIDUtils.createUUID());
    User user = new User();
    user.setId("id");
    user.setSecret("secret");
    message.setBody(user);
    messageBroker.routeMessageToService(message, null);

    Hi Martin. The way that AMF serialization/deserialization works for BlazeDS is the same regardless of which service is being used, so yes that code will work for messaging as well. On the server, the serialization/deserialization of messages happens at the endpoint. For an incoming message for example, the endpoint deserializes the message and then hands it off to the MessageBroker which decides which service/destination to deliver the message to.
    That was a good question. Thanks for asking it. Lots of people are used to doing custom serialization/deserialization with the RPC services (RemoteObject/RemotingService) but I'm not sure everyone realizes they can do this for messaging as well.
