Black & code alert message

Hello,
I'm using FCP to black & code mini DV tapes. After the message "... you are about to erase ..." and click okay to start black & code, another message came up saying " The selected audio & video devices may not match: Apple Fire wire NTSC (720X480) & Built in Audio. Please verify that the audio & video outputs are externally routed to the intended device(s). Do you want to proceed?" I'm using a Canon GL2, fire wire and a 12" G4 laptop. I've blacked/coded a few tapes before, but don't remember this message. What does it mean?
Thanks

Holly,
I fully understand the advantages of logging the tape and capturing that way ... its the way I've done it all along. What I don't understand is how blacking the tape prior to a shoot would help in that process if you're using proper shooting techniques.
In the old days of analog tape, you'd routinely black a tape in order to lay down an unbroken timecode or control track IF that tape was going to used for insert editing or recording - it was pretty useless for assemble editing or recording since assemble recording overwrites information including the timecode and/or control track.
With the advent of digital tape formats, it's no longer an issue. If you record the appropriate amount of preroll and post roll for each shot, the timecode being written by the camcorder should remain unbroken unless the camcorder looses all battery/power, including the lithium battery which holds the settings. Essentially, all you're doing is adding a pass to the tape. For example, if you black virgin tape, when you go to shoot, it will be the second pass on that tape.

  • Alert message in pl/sql code

    I have a form based on procedure and i want when the procedure executed to appear an alert message. The form is as a portlet to a page. This is the code in the procedure
    htp.p('<SCRIPT>alert("my message");</SCRIPT>');
    The problem is that after the allert message, appears a page with a green icon and a 'back to form' link.
    I want to click on the OK button and returns to the same page. Can anybody tell me what have to do?
    Thanks

    I add the go procedure to the "On successful submission" but when the form is executed returns to the page without appears the alert message i want.
    In fact i want to execute the form and to appear a message in a form like as the message which appears in a form when an optional field is null. That missage is "item_name cannot be null".You click the OK button and continue to the same page. I want that functionality when the form is executed. For example when the form is executed i want to appear the message "The procedure was successful" and the user have to press only the OK button and continue explore the same page.
    Remember that my form is on store procedure and the allert code is in the procedure's body
    Thanks

  • How displaying an alert message called from a database procedure

    Hi,
    How can I display an alert message that is called from a database procedure.
    I've tried the following code:
    l_al_button NUMBER;
    l_al_message VARCHAR2(80);
    l_al_id ALERT;
    Set_Alert_Property(l_al_id, alert_message_text,l_al_message);
    l_al_Button := show_alert(l_al_id);
    When trying I receive an error that says that the word ALERT need to be declared.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    leave the procedure without error handling.
    This is what you can do:
    1.Inside the database procedure-
    BEGIN
    RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR (-20001, 'The chosen length of the Public Key Exponent ....');
    END;
    2.Into your Form -
    BEGIN
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    IF sqlcode = '-20001' THEN
    Display Your Messages.
    END IF;

    END;

    Create a keyboard shortcuts (ctrl + shift + b) for your script and try...
    Code must be like this:
    alert("Bold Shortcut....");
    app.selection[0].fontStyle = "Bold";
    P.S.: you have to set conditions for bold, bold italic, etc.

    If your end goal is showing a pretty error message instead of the message that the tables unique constraint raises try the following. This logic will show a nice message and not try to insert non-unique data.
    (1) Create a validation of type "Function Returning Error Text".
    (2) Place similar code like the following in your validation. Notice that if the unique name does not exist the no_data_found returns null allowing the validation to pass.
    DECLARE
      v_error varchar2(100);
    BEGIN
      SELECT 'A person by this name already exists.'
      INTO v_error
      FROM your_table
      WHERE your_name = :P1_YOUR_NAME;
      RETURN v_error;
    EXCEPTION
      WHEN no_data_found THEN
        RETURN NULL;
    END;

  • How to fire a Alert Message in a table format

    Hi friends,
    Currently im performing an Alert. My requirement is i need to display the alert message to the user in the mail in a table format.
    But i couldnt perform that, as the alert is not displaying in a properly aligned table format.
    Can you friends propose me a right way to bring the alert in a table format with two columns.

    Regards,

    I agree w 936671, do this in PL/SQL. Much, much easier.
    However, I will recommend a different approach using PL/SQL.
    1) Create a package to send the emails. Sample code:
    create or replace package cust_fnd_utilities as
    procedure send_email(     p_sender     in     varchar2,
                   p_recipient      in      varchar2,
                   p_subject     in     varchar2,
                   p_message     in     varchar2);
    end cust_fnd_utilities;
    create or replace package body cust_fnd_utilities as
    procedure send_email(     p_sender     in     varchar2,
                   p_recipient      in      varchar2,
                   p_subject     in     varchar2,
                   p_message     in     varchar2)
    is
    v_mail_host     varchar2(30);
    v_crlf      constant varchar2(2):= chr(13)||chr(10);
    v_message     varchar2(10000);
    v_mail_conn     utl_smtp.connection;
    begin
    v_mail_host := 'localhost';
    v_mail_conn := utl_smtp.open_connection(v_mail_host, 25);
    v_message :=      'Date: ' ||
         to_char(sysdate, 'dd Mon yy hh24:mi:ss') || v_crlf ||
         'From: <'|| p_sender ||'>' || v_crlf ||
         'Subject: '|| p_subject || v_crlf ||
         'To: '||p_recipient || v_crlf || '' || v_crlf || p_message;
    utl_smtp.ehlo(v_mail_conn, v_mail_host);
    utl_smtp.mail(v_mail_conn, p_sender);
    utl_smtp.rcpt(v_mail_conn, p_recipient);
    utl_smtp.data(v_mail_conn, v_message);
    utl_smtp.quit(v_mail_conn);
    exception
    when others then
         utl_smtp.close_connection(v_mail_conn);
    end send_email;
    end cust_fnd_utilities;
    2) Build the email, then call the package from step #1. Sample code:
    create or replace package cust_fnd_monitoring as
    procedure profile_options_build_email (     p_errbuf     out     varchar2,
                             p_retcode     out     varchar2,

                             p_recipient     in     varchar2);
    end cust_fnd_monitoring;
    create or replace package body cust_fnd_monitoring as
    procedure profile_options_build_email (     p_errbuf     out     varchar2,
                             p_retcode     out     varchar2,
                             p_sender     in     varchar2,
                             p_recipient     in     varchar2)
    is
    v_subject          varchar2(100) := 'erpgamd1 - Recent Profile Option Changes';
    v_mime_type          varchar2(100) := 'Content-Type: text/html';

  • Re:  Reference field to change red alert message. How?

    Hi FICO Consultant,
    We are using T-Code:  FBL1N, using our com code and execute the report.  In this report, we have used the reference field for company purpose key in the same reference no.: (EX:  789100).  The same number appeared again on the screen (Reference No.).  That time red alert message appeared on the screen or an existing same reference in this field.  Any body gives the idea to me in FICO.
    We expect the reply from you.
    Thank you,
    Regards,
    Krishnan.

    The icons are a function of the Alert style: that can only be changed in the property palette. I'don't believe there is any way of substituting your own icons for the Oracle ones short of overwriting the Oracle supplied files with graphics of your own. However, we can set the Alert Title and Message Text programmatically with the SET_ALERT_PROPERTY built-in.

    Resolution: Ensure that the ISE server certificate is trusted by the client, by configuring the supplicant with the CA certificate that signed the ISE server certificate. It is strongly recommended to not disable the server certificate validation on the client!
    Root cause: While trying to negotiate a TLS handshake with the client, ISE received an unexpected TLS alert message. This might be due to the supplicant not trusting the ISE server certificate for some reason. ISE treated the unexpected message as a sign that the client rejected the tunnel establishment.
    Here is the WLC error:
    AAA Authentication Failure for UserName:Domain\User User Type: WLAN USER
    Here is the windows event viewer error:
    Source:        Microsoft-Windows-Security-Auditing
    Event ID:      5632
    Description:
    A request was made to authenticate to a wireless network.
    Subject:
        Security ID:        NULL
        Account Name:        User
        Account Domain:        Domain
    Network Information:
        Name (SSID):        IT-Test
    Additional Information:
        Reason Code:        Explicit Eap failure received (0x50005)
        Error Code:        0x80420014
        EAP Reason Code:    0x80420100
        EAP Root Cause String:    Network authentication failed\nThe user certificate required for the network can't be found on this computer.
        EAP Error Code:        0x80420014
    On the ISE server that is working you are presented with a window that asks you to connect or terminate based on the certificate not being validated. I don't know why that isn't happening with this new ISE server, it just fails without prompting the user to connect or terminate. Both certs are from GoDaddy.
    A difference between the certs is the old has a cert that was generated through ISE and the new server has an imported wildcard cert.
    Anyway, I hope that is enough information to understand the issue. I appreciate the time anyone takes in assisting me with this issue. I did setup a copy of the WLAN so that I can test as needed and not have to wait for a maintenance window.

    Thanks for your prompt reply. If I understand you correctly, the workaround is to essentially NOT use a wildcard certificate?
    Here is another thing. In the certificate operations section I moved EAP to the self-signed certificate and the behavior is the same, but the error is different. The self-signed cert isn't a wildcard and it still fails on windows only.
    ISE Error:
    Event: 5400 Authentication failed
    Failure Reason: 12321 PEAP failed SSL/TLS handshake because the client rejected the ISE local-certificate
    Resolution: Check whether the proper server certificate is installed and configured for EAP in the Local Certificates page ( Administration > System > Certificates > Local Certificates ). Also ensure that the certificate authority that signed this server certificate is correctly installed in client's supplicant. Check the previous steps in the log for this EAP-TLS conversation for a message indicating why the handshake failed. Check the OpenSSLErrorMessage and OpenSSLErrorStack for more information.
    Root cause: PEAP failed SSL/TLS handshake because the client rejected the ISE local-certificate
    Obviously the self-signing CA isn't in the local machines store.

  • Alert Message and linefeeds

    I can create a multi-line alert in the Forms 6i Builder, Alert Property Palette, in the Message by using the editor window and typing and using the Enter key to break the line. When I close the edit window, the text shows up on the property with a box where the linefeed is. If I cut the box and paste it into a different editor, I see it is actually the chr(10) linefeed character.
    When I compile and run the form on Web Forms 6i, the message displays as a multi-line message, with linefeeds where I wanted them.
    However, I cannot use Set_Alert_Property to set the message. The Chr(10) characters are displayed on the web forms as a square box.
    An earlier topic here reported that using \n or /n in place of chr(10) would work in Web Forms, but I cannot get either to work.
    So if anyone knows how to use Set_Alert_Property to set the message containing a linefeed that works on Web Forms 6i, I would really like to know.
    Thanks in advance.

    Ok, upon further investigation, I found that I was mixing alert messages with stacked messages via the Message command. We use a generic PLL_ALERT call to display popup windows. It checks to see if an alert named 'ALERT_001' is defined in the current fmb, and if so, AND if the message is less than 200 characters, uses the alert. If there is no alert defined or if the message is more than 200 characters, uses the stacked message command.
    It is in the stacked message on the web where both CHR(10) and CHR(13) do NOT work.
    Here is what I found:
    CHR(10) starts a new line for:
      Forms6 client/server alert
      Forms6 client/server message
      Forms6 web alert
      ***fails (space) Forms6 web message
    CHR(13) starts a new line for:
      Forms6 client/server alert
      Forms6 client/server message
      ***fails (a box) Forms6 web alert
      ***fails (a box) Forms6 web message
    CHR(138) starts a new line for:
      ***fails (S) Forms6 client/server alert
      ***fails (S) Forms6 client/server message
      Forms6 web alert
      Forms6 web message
    The CHR(138) 'S' has a curve (umlaut?) above it in Forms6 client/server.
    Here is the code I used in a key-dup-item trigger to get my results above:
    DECLARE
      msg VARCHAR2(300) :=
        '____long_line_to_set_alert_window_width____ '
        ||'CHR(10)---a'||CHR(10)||'b---'
        ||'CHR(13)---c'||CHR(13)||'d---'
        ||'CHR(138)---e'||CHR(138)||'f---';
    BEGIN
      SET_ALERT_PROPERTY('ALERT_001',ALERT_MESSAGE_TEXT,msg);
      IF SHOW_ALERT('ALERT_001') = 0 THEN NULL; END IF;
      -- stacked messge --
      MESSAGE(msg);
      MESSAGE(' ',NO_ACKNOWLEDGE);
    END;

  • APEX 4.0.2 Project Gantt Chart - Error Code: 2002 Message: Empty input

    Hi
    I have created a brand new page containing a Project Gantt Chart region. The Gantt chart is designed to track the progress of a job over time. The page has one chart series containing the following SQL.
    SELECT null LINK,
    stage NAME,
    rownum ID,
    null PARENT_ID,
    trunc(start_date) ACTUAL_START,
    trunc(completion_date) ACTUAL_END,
    decode(completion_date, null, 0, 100) PROGRESS
    FROM tracking
    WHERE job_reference = '889343'
    This SQL statement returns values from SQL Developer and from the SQL Workshop > SQL Commands from within APEX itself.
    The problem is that when I run the page the following error displays inside the region
    Category: 2000
    Error code: 2002
    Message: Empty input
    Environment Information
    Application Express 4.0.2.00.07. - Clean installation not upgraded from APEX 3
    Using Firefox 3.6.15
    Issue identical in IE
    DB version - Oracle Database 11g Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production
    I'm really stuck so I hope someone can help me out. I really would appreciate it.
    Thanks
    Kylie

    Debug mode doesn't appear to have picked anything up that looks out of the ordinary to me or raises any alarm bells.
