Blogging Tool

I use the weblog feature of OSX server and I am looking for a simple app or dashboard widget that allows me to publish to it and can support attaching a video podcast. Does anyone have any recommendations?

OT,
http://www.wordpress.com is free and when you register you choose a username and then your blog or website or whatever is published to the WordPress servers, so your url is http://username.wordpress.com.
http://www.wordpress.org on the other hand is the one that you need to download and install with a database on your server.  If you use GoDaddy for instance then you will be able to install WordPress automatically, so then the url for a blog etc., would be http://www.your domain name.com/Blog or whatever you want to call WordPress once installed.
It is easy to customise exactly the same as your site and you can embed it or create a link to it directly from the site - I decided to do the latter on my own site to take up less room - take a look here and click on the Blog link at the end of the drop down menu.  http://www.bodycentred-therapy.com.

  • Blogging tool for HTMLDB

Can anyone recommend a blogging tool to create a blog in HTMLDB?
    Thanks!
    Robin

    Thanks for the replies!
In response to Robert, I was looking for a tool similar to blogspot, but
one designed to work in an application type environment (from our server) - one that our security guys won't go ballistic over. I am very new to blogs, never even used one, so I barely know how they work.
Zvika, my original thought was to create one in HTMLDB, but since I quickly realized I don't have a clue where to begin, I went searching for one already built. I was hoping someone had already developed one for HTMLDB :o) If you have the time to help me create one, even if it's just to give me a starting point, that would be great! I'm not in a rush; there's no requirement for us to have one at this point,
just wanted to get a head start.

  • Use of Blog Tools

    Hi,
What are the steps to add To create a new blog post in Blog Tools?
When i click create a post or manage a post i will get page not found error, How to resolve this?
    Did i miss any steps?
    Regards
    Prakash

    Hi,
Be default, when you click "Create a post" in the Blog Tools web part, it will redirect to NewPost.aspx page of the Post library in your blog site. So for your issue, please make sure the
Posts Library is existing in your blog site. You can go to your blog site -> site contents to  verify.

  • Blogging tool or software

I was using Echo embedded in my iWeb blog page.  My iWeb site is hosted by godaddy.com.  Echo no longer has this service.  I want to continue to use my iWeb format, and I am looking for an inexpensive way to continue my blogging.  I don't think I want to "redirect" or do any "mapping", and I really do not know what all this means.  I looked into WordPress.com & I cannot embed.  I think I could do this with WordPress.org and I am not sure.  The Echo was pretty easy, just embedding into HTML widget. Any advice is appreciated.

  • Can I use MUSE as a blogging tool?

Can I use MUSE as a blogging solution? Or is Wordpress still the best way to go?

Yes , you can very well use OIM to sync data between LDAP and RDBMS . OIM comes with lot of OOTB connector which connects to diff targets.
LDAP and RDBMS happened to one of those , so you can easily pull the data from ldap and push to RDBMS or anywhere else

  • SharePoint 2013 - blog upgrade

    Hi,
I did an upgrade of SharePoint 2010 to 2013. Most things work fine, but I have some issues with upgrading a blog. I got these scenarios:
I upgrade the blog in 2010 design, everything works fine, until I make a visual upgrade to 2013. After visual upgrade the blog still seems to be fine, but when I select a category to filter categories, all links are broken. So f.e. I klick a category linked
to "Lists/Kategorien/Category.aspx?CategoryId=15&Name=Firewall" for category "Firewall", all results are linked to "Lists/Kategorien/". Even the categories in navigation are now linked to "Lists/Kategorien/".
To solve this I tried various export/import settings, with features enabled/disabled, but no success. ULS Log didn't show usefull informations at this time. So the Question: Why do I experience this behavior? Any idea to solve this?
I get a different error, when I try to import the blog, when the site collection has publishing feature enabled. Than I don't even can access any blog site, I get an error: sorry that didn't work. On export site is publishing feature enabled, dunno
why I can't just import here.
Hopefully I can get some help here. Best solution for me is to get error 1 fixed, I don't need publishing features. SharePoint 2010 was installation with SP1 and CU august 2012.
    Thanks for help

  • Posting to a blog from Word 2007 or Word 2010 with pictures

Ok, this works fine SharePoint2010 with both Word 2007 and Word 2010.
When I try to publish a post that has pictures in it to a SharePoint2013 blog from Word 2007/2010 I get an error stating 'word cannot publish the pictures in this post'. This happens weather I use 'Launch blogging app' from the SharePoint2013 'Blog tools'
menu or launch Word2007/2010 independently and publish from there. I presume I have setup the 'Manage accounts' section to publish to the blogs correctly as the 'Picture' options do say 'SharePoint blog'.
Using SharePoint2013 'Create a post" option works just fine with images also.
This is quite maddening as I am trying to set up test cases so my agency can decide on SharePoint2010/2013. The users appreciate the ability to use the tools they are familiar with to create the blog entries (Word2007/2010) in SharePoint2010 and it is not
a confidence booster when I cant get SharePoint2013 to work.
I have installed both SharePoint2010 and 2013 on independent virtual machines to testbed. I used practically all the default settings.
Any ideas or options for me?
I would be willing to deal with some type of paid support incident if that is how this must be resolved.

here is the example f international Characters : ÅÄÖ or something like Jon
    Löh....

  • Blog Starter Template in Dreamweaver CC

I am doing a favor for a co-worker. I am building her a website from scratch for a blog she wants to start regarding Real Estate Law. She already purchased a domain with Gator, therefore where I upload this site is already established. I was going to build this site in Muse, however I discovered Muse does not have a Blog Widget. So I'm going to build this in Dreamweaver and I noticed a Starter Template for Blogs, though it looks more of a layout. Once I upload and design this site for her it is out of my hands, and I want to know she can update her blog on her own. Is this blog template in Dreamweaver going to enable her to do so? If not, please advise on how I would go about doing that, thanks.

Many web hosts provide a one-button simple way of installing WordPress from your server's CPanel.  Honestly, I think that's what your friend is going to need; not a Dreamweaver site.
Then find a free or commercial WP Theme with most of the functionality your friend's blog will require.  If you can't find a Theme that contains everything on her wish list, fear not b/c there are plenty of WP Plugins or Widgets to fill in the gaps. Both Themes and Plugins are installed via the WP Dashboard.

  • Sharepoint 2013 Blog site landing page

On a blog site, you are shown categories, archives, then your posts, then blog tools and rss feeds. Is there an easy way to increase the width of the post size. If you increase the size of the web part the posts do not increase.

Use the developer tools and identify the class and increase the width.

  • Can anyone explain what i would need to set up some form of lets say blog technique on my website?

I am building a website for a friend and something came up that i am not use to they want a blog type on their website? i am aware i am going to have to use php and some other things but in what way do i approach this? maybe some help with code?

You could use WordPress to build your friend's site.  WP is built with PHP & MySql database driven content.  WP has a built in CMS for creating blogs & building web sites.  It's much easier to use a ready-made blogging framework than reinventing the wheel.

Another option is to use Adobe Business Catalyst for your site.  BC has blog, CMS & other business modules.  Price includes hosting.

  • Blogging API

Is there any standard blogging API that Teaming supports? I'd like to be able to use external blogging tools to post links and article excerpts to Teaming for my company's benefit, but instead I have to do a fair amount of tedious copy-and-paste work to do so.
One of my tools (KDE's Blogilo) supports the following:
    Blogger v1.0
    Metaweblog
    Movable Type
    Wordpress
    blogspot.com
but none of those seem to be supported by Teaming.

We don't support any of those protocols, but, there are a two ways to get messages into teaming.
    1. Email : this is the easiest, just set teaming up to act as a smtp server, and define an address for the folder.
    2. Web Services: You'd need an application to send the web service to the folder.
It depends on what version of teaming you are running for the instructions to set this up (the webservices being harder), but if you let me know which version I can point you better in the right direction.

  • How to create a new blog

    Hi people,
I know that are a stupid question, but here I go. Anayone can help how to create a new blog in Owc Wiki? I can just create new Wiki Pages. There's a blog created when I create a new domain, I would like delete this and create new blogs.
I'm using URL http://172.20.1.210:8890/owc_wiki/domain/activities.jz to acess my administration. I won't use webcenter custom application to create a new blog, I just want create in Blog tool.
    Thks in advance
    Nelson

First of all, there's no such a thing as "stupid question". If you have this question we might not have it well documented.
Wiki Server and Blog Server is the same thing. When you login to owc_wiki, there is a item on the top menu called owc_wiki Blog. Click there and on the left menu you will see:
    Entries
    Blog Home
    Add New Entry
Click on "Add New Entry" to create a new post.
    Now comes my tips:
    1. There are web services that you can invoke to manipulate the blogs if you don't want to use Oracle's Interface.
    2. If you only want to remove the outerframe you can add "&inline=1" at the end of the url. Try it on your browser.
    Have fun.

  • Blog Site Archives not showing all posts

We have SharePoint 2013 Enterprise on premise.
We have a blog site we use company wide that has an average of five new posts a week.
When you use the built-in "Archives" view to look at blog posts by month, it will show you the first ten, but when you use the navigation button to see the next ten it displays "There are no posts in this month."
This is not an issue when navigating the Blog site normally, or even when viewing blog posts based on Category.  It only seems to effect the monthly archive views.
I suspect it might have something to do with the URL being created incorrectly.
For example, if I'm on the main blog site and click "November" under "Archives", the URL will be this:
    http://intranet.domain.com/news/Lists/Posts/Date.aspx?StartDateTime=2013%2D11%2D01T05%3A00%3A00Z&EndDateTime=2013%2D12%2D01T06%3A00%3A00Z&LMY=November%2C%202013
when I click the button to see the next ten the URL is this:
    http://intranet.domain.com/news/Lists/Posts/Date.aspx?Paged=TRUE&p_PublishedDate=20131121%2020%3a41%3a00&p_ID=197&StartDateTime=2013%252D11%252D01T05%253A00%253A00Z&EndDateTime=2013%252D12%252D01T06%253A00%253A00Z&PageFirstRow=11&&View=a517419e-c215-40aa-b00e-24380eb95e36
Honestly I'm not sure if this is the issue or not, but it seemed odd to me that the URL changes so much.
Can anybody help me out with this?

The Archive is a list view. You can create a new one.
Here's how to create a new view that should function similar to the out of the box Archive view:
On the ribbon, click the list tab then Create View.
    Choose the Standard View type.
Name it something like Archive - new
Scroll to the bottom and click OK.
If this new view does the job, you can delete the old view and rename the new one Archive.
Tom Resing, Microsoft Certified Master in SharePoint 2007 - http://tomresing.com
I don't believe that the Blog Site uses standard views for Archives and Category views.
I see no way to edit the current "Archives" view and the URL's don't really mesh with a normal list view URL.
If I access the actual list of posts by clicking "Manage Posts" under Blog Tools I can add/edit/remove views, but that's not what I'm looking for.  I've included a picture of the view I'm talking about:

  • SharePoint blog categories don't work sincee upgrading from 2010 to 2013

Our Online Learning department had a SharePoint blog when we were using SharePoint 2010.  We recently upgraded to SharePoint 2013, and all of the category and archive links don't show any posts.  Does anyone know of a solution for this?
I was able to create a post today with several categories assigned to it, but it still didn't show when I clicked a category link.

    Hi,
As I understand, all of the category and archive links don't show any posts in your sharepoint blog.
    Check things below:
    1. To check if the Url shows correctly. When I click the category url, my url show as
    “http://server name/blog site name/_layouts/15/start.aspx#/Lists/Categories/Category.aspx?CategoryId=3&Name=Events”.
    2. Click the category link and edit the page, then check if the needed web parts exist.
In my environment, there are four web parts named posts, categories, blog tools, and archives in the page.
    3. Can you provide the screenshot after you click the category link?
