BO on demand training

Hi. I am the manager of a team that has the responsibility to support our organizations adoption of BO on demand. Problem? We have no knowledge of the product.
I'm told we are using SAP BusinessObjects BI OnDemand, BOXI R3.1 Service Pack 3. What is the right training for good technical people, very familiar with report development, but new to the product, to get up to speed to help other's use BO on demend sucessfully?
Any thoughts or experience with this?
Thanks a lot

This may be a good place to start.

You can search the SDN for tutorials.  There are quite a lot dealing with webi reports.

  • How to organise the media for capturing

    I imported from a MiniDV camera to final Cut Pro X project. The program separates the clips each time there is a cut. How can I avoid that, so that I have less clips in the browser? How can I give a name to each individual clip. If I rename it on the browser will it change it as well at the source.
    Thanks

    Dear Raghu,
    SAP QM is a broad topic and offers lot of integrations to other SAP System. I would recommend hands on training from XPAND as a good place to start.

  • Microsoft Dyamics CRM 2015 : Current Geospatial Capabilities

    Greetings,
    I have only become familiar with MS Dynamics CRM 2013.  We have recently upgraded to 2015. I am seeking some knowledge regarding current geospatial capabilities and/or integration.  May somebody please provide a link or start a discussion with
    me?
    Regards,
    Jeff

    Hi Chris,
    Thank you for your reply.  Currently we are tracking data relating to the following that want to integrate high-level geospatial visualizations with CRM 2015:
    -level of training material and support
    -allowances of products based on demand
    -training methods/providers and impact on training performance
    -cost analysis of support/training
    -forecasting of support needed, products to manufacture, and training
    Some example use-cases of high-level geospatial visualizations would be:
    - Training: how much?, where?, who?
    - support needed at specific locations
    - cost of support/training at specific locatations
    -etc...
    I am aware of the Bing Map feature in 2015.  I am sort of the bridge between a geospatial team and upper management; I have done CRM development in 2013 but nothing geospatial.
    Is this something that could integrate well with PowerMaps or PowerBi?  If so, how efficiently?  Can I provide my own data visualization in iframe in 2015 CRM interface?  I want to avoid adding any non-value-add activities for users and upper
    mgt by keeping the visualizations within CRM.
    I'm fresh out of college and new to this organization. Any advice would help.
    Thanks

  • Is it possible to use Adobe Connect as your LMS?

    My understanding is that it integrates into your current LMS...but the functionality it seems to accomplish what I need:  eLearning course hosting for my external customers, grading, certificates.  Any thoughts?

    Nicholas Souris wrote:
    The real questions is:  Can I get rid of my LMS and upload all my eLearning modules to Adobe Connect?  Can they be accessed on customer demand like a true LMS? or is Adobe Connect dependent on "starting" the Connect interface as an instructor and inviting participants in a virtual classroom.
    If I could use Adobe Connect for both my LMS and my Virtual Classroom, it would save thousands of dollars.
    By the way, trying to get an answer to this question from Adobe is like pulling teeth.  They are not in the LMS business and don't want to be.  Just because they have an LMS, doesn't mean they want to sell it, maintain it, and deal with all of the customer support a regular LMS needs to.
    Nick
    Nick,
    You may be right that I missed the mark on answer the question asked... guess I read a bit of what I thought the question should be, not what it was. Thanks for calling my attention to that.
    Can Connect be used as your LMS? Yes. There is the learning module which allows for delivery of on-demand training (Concurrent Learner licenses) and live training and tracking (Named Virtual Classroom Manager licenses). While Connect is more of a light weight LMS, it does fit most organiztions needs for user training delivery and tracking.
    For on-demand content there is no need to start the Connect interface (a meeting room is what I assume you are referring to), as the training Course (single object) or Curriculum (collection of learning objects) will have a single URL for access. If using a Virtual Classroom then the ondemand courses can be launched in the synchronus session and all attendees interactions will be tracked.
    If it helps, we have a description of the licensing for Adobe Connect here, Setting the Record Straight on Adobe Connect Licensing Again | RealEyes Media, in an attempt to help clarify what Connect can do. Let me know if I can answer any other questions.

  • Final Cut Studio 2....Is there a book for dummies?

    OK, I have the Final Cut Studio 2. I watched the DVD and i'm still a little duh on it haha. I checked out books online for dummies like me and can't find one specifically for Final Cut Studio 2. Is there a book out there somewhere? Or will one of the other books help me. I need to know everything I guess. Thanks sooooo much!

  • Linking Characteristics with table VBAP

    I have created a set of characteristics which I assign to each service line item in the sales order.
    How do I link these characteristics to table VBAP?

    David,
    This is the scenario:
    Example 1
    Material Code = 123
    Title = Training 1
    Delivery Type = Classroom Learning
    Language = English
    Currency = USD
    Example 2
    Material Code = 123
    Title = Training 2
    Delivery Type = On Demand
    Language = French
    Currency = EUR
    I used variant configuration:
    I did the following:
    1. Created a configurable material 123 with material type KMAT
    2. Created a class1 with variant class 300
    3. Created characteristics title, delivery type, language
    4. Assigned values to each characteristic like titleu2026training 1 & 2, delivery typeu2026Classroom & on-demand and languageu2026.. English & French
    5. No Pricing attached to table SDCOM, Field Name VKOND
    I have to assign each combination of the above variant to a wbs element :
    e.g:
    Line item 1 in sales orderu2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026..Training 1 u2013 Classroom training u2013 Englishu2026u2026u2026u20262 LU X $1000 = $2000u2026u2026assigned to WBS element

  • Oracle training on demand - slow connection

    Hi,
    anybody else experiencing extremely sluggish streaming of the 'training on demand' -content?
    Incredibly annoying... My employer paid lots of money for this course, and it seems the bandwidth just isn't there.
    I have a very good connection, and can stream just about anything else without any issues at all.
    Thanks!
    Arild

    Yes, Training On Demand is valid to fulfill the training requirement for certification as long as the course is listed on the page that Rene provided.

  • Literally the worst customer support experience I've ever had to deal with -- Why don't they let their customers speak to supervisors on demand?

    Call 1: I spoke to them to see if I was eligible for an upgrade. It turned out they had accidentally counted a temporary phone switch to an old device as an upgrade. The representative was extremely slow minded and took over an hour to read through my notes and process what I was saying happened, consulting with his supervisor multiple times. He claimed to have noted everything and told me I had to go to a verizon store to verify in person that I was still using my original phone, and that then I would be able to get an upgrade immediately.
    Trip to the store: Drove an hour only to be told by the store rep that there were NO NOTES on my account about the issue and there was nothing he could do to help me and that I'd have to call customer support again. The store was closing in 20 mins and customer support seems to take 45 minutes minimum to resolve anything, so I left.
    Call 2: Asked a woman to speak to a supervisor about the guy who wasted 2+ hours of my life and gas money. She put me on hold for a long time, came back and said they were all busy right now, would I like to leave my complaint with her? I said no thank you, I will keep waiting. She said ok, and proceeded to hang up.
    Call 3: Asked a different woman to speak to a supervisor, she put me on hold for a long time and then told me that since I wasn't an authorized user I could not speak to one... lol ok. Had a family member call and authorize me.
    Call 4: Asked a guy to speak to a manager. He insisted on taking the complaint himself. Why would I trust someone to take a complaint about their colleague possibly sitting a few desks away when many of them have proven to be incredibly incompetent already? It sounded like we were making progress... then he hung up too.
    Call 5: Asked yet another woman to speak to the manager. She demanded a reason, I told her it was to make a complaint and she told me about a dozen times that the managers would just tell her to take the complaint. I insisted, she refused... finally I threatened to close all of our accounts unless she let me speak to a manager. She said they couldn't right now since the office was closing soon, but that one would call me within 24-48 hours. I'd bet my life savings that never happens. At that point I tried to talk to her about the original upgrade issue, and she said her system had suddenly crashed and that I'd have to call back the next day...  Seriously???
    Absolutely unreal how horrible their customer support is. Will be switching to T-Mobile immediately.

    Having worked in customer service, I have some experience with this kind of situation.  Reps are typically trained to make all attempts to handle complaints by themselves, because there are obviously many more reps than supervisors.  They're usually REQUIRED to fully authorize the account and to get the whole situation from the customer prior to referring you to a supervisor.  One of the biggest problems is that many customers think that demanding a supervisor is a way to guarantee you will get what you want.  If the reason for your request to escalate isn't a valid one, the supervisor won't give in to you either.
    There are plenty of times in my own experience, especially as a brand new rep out of training, that I took a long time to research and get an understanding of the issue.  Yes, I wasn't moving at light speed, but that doesn't make me an idiot.  It means I was trying to gather as much info s possible to try and deal with the issue. But I had plenty of customers tell me I was stupid and to transfer them to my supervisor, simply because I took longer than their patience could tolerate to get all the details I needed.
    I have never had a job that I executed flawlessly day in and day out.  Maybe you have and that's why you can't tolerate a person taking a little longer to wrap their head around the issue, but I'd rather doubt it.
    I also don't think you will find reps who work at light speed and utilize a magic wand to fix people's issues at T-Mobile, either, but I guess it never hurts to try.
    Just to clarify: I do not work for Verizon and never have.  I worked for a residential phone and internet company.

  • CONNECT TRAINING how many users in one license can enroll?

    Hi, I have a regular license of Adobe Connect Name Host 100 Participants, It's work excellent for meetings.
    I want to know if I buy one license of CONNECT TRAINING it's going to work in my current license of Adobe Connect , how many students can enroll my training content? need to buy more licenses? I want to use for on demand and live training.
    I not a big corporate company it's only myself, want to do something more professional with curriculum, enroll students.
    Another Question is about Adobe Presenter is this plug in for power point include in the Connect Training or have to buy apart?
    Another question how many disk space have in my meeting room, for recording and library?
    thanks for your help.

    Martin,
    Purchasing Concurrent Learner licenses will add the Training module to your account, unless you are on a monthly account through adobe.com, where the training module is not available.
    The licensing for the Training module is for concurrent access to training content. 1 license means that one person can access training at any given time. You can enroll 15,000 people (random number, pick whatever value you want) in your training, but those individuals have limited access to the training based on the concurrent user load. If you want a plain English description of the licensing for Connect, you can find it here: Setting the Record Straight on Adobe Connect Licensing | RealEyes Media
    Presenter is a separate license and is not included with the Training module.
    Connect doesn't limit disk space. If on a hosted account, I believe there is 5 GB to start but more is added as needed. If on a licensed deployment, you are only limited to the amount of disk space allocated to your Connect server.
