Booking students in the background
sorry if this is a duplicate...it didn't seem to work the first time.
We
have a new program that we need to run in the background that will book
students into courses. For all of our booking activity we use the SAP
function module HRIQ_STUDENT_BOOKING. This works great for dialog
processing but it seems that when it runs in the background it is booking the
students even when there were errors returned from the call-up points. Am
I calling the RFC incorrectly? The table RETURN is coming back with the correct
error messages, but it is still booking the student. Here are the
parameters I am using:
CALL FUNCTION 'HRIQ_STUDENT_BOOKING'
EXPORTING
iv_vtask = 'D'
iv_plvar = '01'
iv_otype = 'ST'
iv_objid = objid
is_mrcontext = context
iv_mode = 'V'
iv_dialog = 'B'
IMPORTING
return_code = lv_subrc
TABLES
it_moduletab = p_itab
it_cptab = p_cptab
et_return = return.
Mike,
Seems like it is override issue. User has override that's the reason system is allowing it. You can ask developer to look into conversion program that will guide developer how to use this FM except don't disable the call-up points.

I have worked out a simple way to put a single picture in the background on a two-page spread!
Please remember, if you have been working on your book, click on Create Saved Book to save your book BEFORE you do this. You can lose all your work up until the point where you create a saved book. After that, it appears on the left menu bar under Collections with whatever name you saved it under. Your book will most likely not appear when you click back on the Book module after leaving it. Don't panic - it hasn't disappeared. If you clicked Create Saved Book to begin with - it's there under Collections.
So here's the exciting bit (well the solution anyway):
Click on the picture you want to use as your two-page spread
STEP 1 - In the Library module
select your image (e.g. X.jpg) and right click on "Export..."
send a copy of this picture to "Same folder as original photo" (DON'T overwrite! remember to use a unique name, such as X_1.jpg)
then repeat to create another copy (use another unique name, such as X_2.jpg)
STEP 2 - In the Develop module, take X_1 and:
click on Crop Overlay (the dotted rectangle at the top of the right menu, just below the histogram)
select a region that is 50% of the width of your original image (easiest is to click on Custom and enter original height plus half original width)
click on the middle of crop region (hand grab icon) and drag the image all the way to the RIGHT
click again on the dotted rectangle
X_1 will now be an image that is just the LEFT half of your original image.
STEP 3 - In the Develop module, then take X_2 and:
click on Crop Overlay
select the same region that you used for step 2
click on the middle of crop region (hand grab icon) and drag the image all the way to the LEFT
click again on the dotted rectangle
X_2 will now be an image that is just the RIGHT half of your original image.
STEP 4 - In the Library module
select the folder your original photo was in
find your two new copies of that photo
drag them to your book situated in the Collections folder on the left menu bar
STEP 5 - Look under Collections and click on your book and then in the Book module
in the Background section (right side menu), UNcheck "Apply Background Globally"
to the right of the small rectangle below that, click on the tiny arrowhead and make sure "Photos" is selected
select the left page of your spread and drag X_1 (the left half) onto the rectangle
select the right page of your spread and drag X_1 (the right half) onto the rectangle
DONE!
Of course, you can now select any of the existing templates for your left and right pages. Remember, if you don't fill a particular template frame with a photo, it remains blank in the finished product (you can always check the preview in the top left corner in Spread View mode). For example you could pick a 4 x 4 template and only use the top three outer frames on the outer edge of both pages.
Have fun! I was so excited when I finally worked out this work-aroundI have an even simpler method. I use MyPublisher to print my books. I select their page layout for a two-page spread, drag and drop the image. DONE! I understand that most people have their favorite places to have work done. I have been extremely pleased with MyPublisher.com, so I haven't even tried the book module in Lightroom.

I am trying to connect my mac book pro to the tv via a mini displayport to a hdmi cable, the only picture on the tv screen is the background picture of my mbp, does anyone know what I need to connect to my samsung tv ?
Hi there. I also bought an iWires mini Display port to HDMI cable and have an LG LED/LCD TV. I plugged it in to my MB Pro and followed the very small writing that came in the package and got both audio and video going. You need to change the audio settings from within System Preferences on your Mac to select your TV as the audio output.
My concern is the data latency - do you experience a delay between moving your mouse on the MBPro and the TV displaying the movement? It is only a fraction of a second, but certainly enough to be annoying, especially in a cable as expensive as the iWire. -
When I try to print from "File", then "Print" only the background "stuff" prints, not the article I am trying to print from Popular Mechanics in Google books. Sometime in the past I had a program (I think it was Mozilla Firefox) which allowed me to take a "screen shot" of the entire screen, edit out the unwanted graphics, zoom in or out and then print only the edited version on a full page format. I've changed computers, and am still setting the new one up to my preferences. Can you help me print articles from Popular Mechanics on Google books?

Chances are you have one of two problems; either a non-standard "Media Type" is selected or your page margins are messed up. If the Media Type is correct, try doing the '''reset''' mentioned on that support page. -
Can you Change the Background Color of the Book from White.
When I read in the dark my computer screen is so bright it hurts my eyes. Is there a way to go to white letters on black or change the background to grey or another color when reading an epub book in ADE. Some of the reader software I use has a night time option which has the black background and white letters and it is much better. Thanks for your reply (either yes or no way!)
Very interesting. I didn't know that even existed I haven't tried with a book yet but at least it is a good workaround. As my eyesight fails it will help also! Thanks - Keith ( I agree that it is lame that they don't have that feature in ADE!)

I have prepared a photo book, made a pdf and when I press "buy thhe book" it tells me that the book is missing photos on one ore more pages. The book does not miss any photos or text, all layouts are ok, the background color is ok. Can anybody help me?
You are missing one or more photos - youprobably have a page background that requires a photo which is behind a page with photos on it - all pages must either have a photo or be a color - if you have a gray background it requires a photo - look through the book carefully and be sure to look at the background on any full page photos - you will find one or more missing photos

I think that your Mac detects your hard disk, but the problem is that your new hard disk doesn't contain any operating system, so your Mac doesn't find any bootable partition and you see a question mark.
If your Mac came with DVDs, insert the Mac OS X Install DVD and hold the C key while your Mac is starting. Then, just install Mac OS X. If the hard disk isn't prepared to install Mac OS X, you will have to erase it using "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)". See > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU1.html -
Hi,
when I drag a pdf file (when working in Preview) into iBooks Author, the background colour in the pdf file changes into the background colour of the book.
This happens not consistently, sometimes the background of the pdf file does not change (and stays white), sometimes it's like the text in the pdf file is 'lifted' of the file, and put on the page in iBooks Author (with a brown/beige background).
All the pdf files are scanned pdf's, nothing comes out of Pages, Word, Excel,...
Anybody?
Thanks a lot!
WouterI have the same question (posted here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/25644741#25644741).
I believe this is because the PDFs have transparent backgrounds. As far as I can tell, the only way to fix it is to export the PDF as another file, such as an image file. Or perhaps convert it to Word and import it that way. -
Aperture 3: After sending my book for printing to Apple the Apple Store told me that my text and the background have the same color and they couldn't print the book. But I couldn't find any problem in the preview. How could I find the pages where the problems are? Or otherwise, why doesn't print Apple the book how it is. Idon't need the text which couldn'be seen.
The forum is for Logic Pro users.. I will ask the moderators to move it to a more appropriate forum for your question/subject

When adding a textbox to a page in a photo book, is there a way to make the background of the textbox a solid background (rather than right on the photo), so that it is easier to read the text?
I don't believe there is a way to change the background of a specific text box, but with some themes you can change the background of the page to a different color. Or are you wanting to put the text box on top of an image?
And I believe you can change the color of the font by highlighting the text, right or control-clicking, and choosing show fonts. -
Just bought the Mac Book Pro for my photography - set up and running last night, but the user screens ie Hot Mail, safari etc.. are only half size sat on the background - I have exhausted the help and calibration log...surel this must be simple to fix...any help out there..thanks..Paul.
Have you just moved over from WIndows?
This is standard on Macs. The ability to see more than one window at a time. Some apps - like iPhoto, Aperture etc - have a Full Screen mode. Check out the View menu.
Drag the lower right hand corner to resize the window.

Are ther any way to change the background of a book that you purchased?
I always found reading over a bright white background on books very tiring for my eyes.
Instead of flooding them with eye drops, can we can change the background of the books or PDF to a softer background?When you open your book - tap on the AA icon in the upper right and select - Themes from the resulting window. You can select Sepia or Night from the themes.
Sepia is a softer background and Night is white on black. Maybe one of those will be easier on your eyes. -
Making the Background black in a Classic book
Last year I made a book on iPhoto 6 and I made the background of some pages black and others white.
I'm finishing a new book now and can't figure out how to change the background.
I'm sure it's quite simple, but I can't find the answer in the help menu.
The book type "theme" I'm using is "Picture Book". It's what I used last time and was able to make the background black (and the text automatically turned white)
In addition, I was able to place small pictures on the inside flap of the book cover, but I can't seem to do that anymore either. How do I do that?
Thanks in advance for your guidance.
dHi winks1123,
Im pretty new to the iPhoto thing but I use iPhoto 08 and for hardcover books the inside flap I am able to change the layout and choose different settings. There is one which allows you to put an image and some text.
I think that is what you mean.
