Both my ipad 3 and my iphone 5 does not want to up grade applications

I am getting notifications that some applications need up grades. Both my ipad 3 and iphone 5 tries to do the up grade but eventually time out is displayed? What else can I do? My iOS is up to date on both devices

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.
Log out and log back in with your AppleID (Settings App > iTunes&App Stores)
Reset your wireless router.

If you're running Windows, try closing iTunes, then right-click on the iTunes icon and choose Run as Administrator. Then try synching again.

Since my last software update the auto rotation on both my ipad air and my iphone 5c won't work. I have tried everything, including; checking the auto-lock - it isn't on lock. I've checked the settings in the Control Centre and they're as they should be.

The fact that gs.apple.com was in your host file to begin with is an indicator that your computer was used to jailbreak or hack an iOS device at some point in the past. You can not get help here for a hacked or jailbroken device. If your phone was hacked or jailbroken, Apple won't touch it.

Google "iPhone DFU mode".
Try restoring in DFU mode. If that doesn't fix it, make an appointment at the genius bar and see what Apple has to say about it.

Your first statement explains the second statement. To use the German iTunes Store, you need to prove that you're a resident of Germany (that is required by the content owners who will not allow cross-border sales) and the only way Apple can provide such a verification is by requiring that you enter in either a German credit card or a German-purchased iTunes prepaid card. Since I presume the former is not a possibility, you'll need to do the latter if you wish to purchase content from the iTunes Store. Again, this is not Apple's choice but is forced on them by the content owners as a requirement for Apple being allowed to sell the content. The EU is working on regulations that would force the content owners to allow access pan-EU, but that's still in the works.
You do not need an iTunes Store account to activate and run your iPad, though; at least, I didn't need one for either of my two iPads. If you only want to set up an account so you can get free iPad apps, take a look here:

Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is apparently critical. This seems to come and go, or only apply to App Stores in specific countries, so you may not see the option for "None" when asked for a payment type.

New OS6 update killed my wifi Help! What can I Do..

Settings
Click on your wifi network (on the arrow to the right of your network name)
there is a button that says auto join turn it on (the button will be blue)
Then it will connect.
Evidently the update turned off auto join or something like that.....This worked for us.

You say you installed the Apple Mobile Device Service, is it running though? The Apple article will help you check.

Hi Robert, I have been trying but it keeps on getting stuck on start up on the apple icon. Tried connecting to itunes on my computer and is not recognising my device. Connected via usb cable, did not recognise - tried then by holding home and power button but it comes it to apple icon only and still not recognised by itunes either. I had not troubles before and only deleted facebook cause i had some problems with it. Thought I should do a shut down and then this happened..
