Bound Search helps

hi,
i have two search helps and 2.search help is not enabled, because it will be enable when user choose a
value from the first search help. Normally they are bound together but in WDA i can't do it.
for example : 1.search help : A --> 2.search help : B,C,D can be eligible.
                           X --> 2.search help : Y,Z,T can be eligible.
How can i do it?
Thanks...

Hi Adil,
I think this will be posible through freely programmed value help.......
below is the link for creating freely programmed value help
link: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/47/9ef8cc9b5e3c5ce10000000a421937/frameset.htm
after reading that link you will see that we have to create an used component for this help...... now wht you can do is you can create a context attribute for an interface node and pass the value from search help from main component to used component.... now depending on the value passed from you can implement the logic for search help which will depend on the value of search help one......

  • Not able to get the data in custom search help.

    Hi ,
    sorry was not aware of how to post a new thread.
    I am working on web UI and i need help asap.
    I want f4 help whose value depends on the other fields drop down.somhow i managed to get the values in local table and passed it to static attribute of the z class ZL_CRM_UIU_ZZORDERADM_H0201_G.
    in this z class i have redefined a method IF_BSP_WD_CUSTOM_F4_CALLBACK~RETRIEVE_CUSTOM_VALUES.
    which returns a table CT_RESULTS_TAB of type as f4.i have taken key n values in this table too.but the below code should populate the value in the field.but m not getting the values.

  • One search help for multiple select-options in webdynpro abap

    Hi,
    I need a way to use one search help for multiple select-options fields. My scenario is :
    I have a table for keeping different organizational units' values of different systems. I have pasted some sample data from this table at the end of this mail. On the screen I want to have 1 select-options filed for werks, and 1 select-options filed for vkorg. (In fact I will have more org. unit fields...) In the beginning of my application the user will select sid.
    If the user selects ADS as SID, when he opens search-help for the first org. unit (werks), he will see the records with SID: ADS, VARBL = $WERKS, LANGU = SY-LANGU.
    If the user selects AGT as SID, when he opens search-help for the second org. unit (vkorg), he will see the records with SID: AGT, VARBL = $VKORG, LANGU = SY-LANGU.
    I have created a search-help taking SIDD, VARBL and LANGU as import parameters; used field mapping and bound this search help to my table. I have created 2 context nodes : org1 and org2 having attributes SID, VARBL, VALUE, LANGU .
    I have assigned related SID, VARBL and Langu values to these attributes at runtime as I needed. That way, if I use input field and reference to the related context attributes org1-value and org2-value2 accordingly, search help works well as I want.
    However, when I use select-options field , I can not bind the field to the context data. I can give reference only to ddic structure. Is there any way to reference to a context attribute? I searched for this in SDN, but could find nothing.
    I think I won't be able to use this way. What do you say?
    As I read from forums maybe using OVS help will be suitable for me. But I have to use one search-help for all select-options fields. Do you know how I can determine the active select-options field and pass its name (for instance "werks" ) as parameter to this OVS search help. (Also I'll pass SID and LANGU.)
    MY TABLE (ZBYYT080) CONTENTS:
    SID     VARBL     VALUE     LANGU     VTEXT
    ADS     $WERKS     1     T     Werk 0001
    ADS     $WERKS     11     T     OZYAS  GIDA URETIM YERI
    ADS     $WERKS     5501     T     BOYA GEBZE FABRİKASI
    ADS     $WERKS     5502     T     BOYA CIGLI FABRİKASI
    AGT     $WERKS     2301     T     KAMLI DAMIZLIK
    AGT     $WERKS     9601     T     PANAR DENIZ URETIM YERI
    ADS     $VKORG     22     T     AA KİMYASALLAR
    ADS     $VKORG     8001     T     İINSAAT BOYALARI
    AGT     $VKORG     6500     T     DAMk St.Org
    AGT     $VKORG     5400     T     PANAR St.Org.
    I wish I'm clear enough..
    I will be gald if someone answers me as soon as possible...
    Thanks İn advance..

    Hi,
    Your ques is how to refer to a DDIC search help to refer to selection screen parameter ?
    Am I right ?
    If Yes, then in the interface IF_WD_SELECT_OPTIONS
    method ADD_SELECTION_FIELD, ADD_PARAMETER_FIELD etc
    have importing param like I_VALUE_HELP_TYPE and  I_VALUE_HELP_ID, I_VALUE_HELP_MODE, I_VALUE_HELP_STRUCTURE
    etc which may help you to link your create DDIC Search help to selection screen params.
    this is just a clue from my side. I haven't tried it myself.
    You can go to the where used list of this method and find some sample implementations which use these params.
    Hope this helps.

  • Using Search Help with ALV and Dynamic context node

    The topic subject already describes my situation.
    I have to create, populate and remove context nodes at runtime, and bind them to an ALV, to let user display the data or modify the data. The nodes I create are always typed with a table name, but the table name is of course, dynamic.
    This is all working: what's not working is help for entries inside the ALV; since the table has foreign keys and domains with check tables or fixed values, I expected that search helps were detected and managed by the framework.
    Instead, no help search is displayed except the input help based on data-type of the one "Date" input fields.
    I think I have to work on the dynamic node creation, and not on the ALV itself, since the latter only takes the node/attributes information, but i could be wrong. I tried with both the two following codings:
      CALL METHOD lo_nd_info_root->add_new_child_node
        EXPORTING
          static_element_type          = vs_tabname
          name                         = 'SAMPLE_NODE_NAME'
    *    is_mandatory                 = abap_false
    *    is_mandatory_selection       = abap_false
         is_multiple                  = abap_true
         is_multiple_selection        = abap_false
    *    is_singleton                 = abap_false
          is_initialize_lead_selection = abap_false
          is_static                    = abap_false
        RECEIVING
          child_node_info              = lo_nd_info_data .
    cl_wd_dynamic_tool=>create_nodeinfo_from_struct(
          parent_info = lo_nd_info_root
          node_name = 'SAMPLE_NODE_NAME'
          structure_name = vs_tabname
          is_multiple = abap_true ).
    The result is the same...is there any way to let the ALV know what search helps it has to use, and doesn't force me to manually build a VALUE_SET to be bound on the single attributes? There are many tables, with many fields, and maintaining this solution would be very costly.

    I have checked with method GET_ATTRIBUTE_VALUEHELP_TYPE of interface IF_WD_CONTEXT_NODE_INFO, on an attribute which i know to have a search help (Foreign key of a check table).
    The method returns 'N', that is the constant IF_WD_VALUE_HELP_HANDLER~CO_VH_TYPE_NO_HELP. So, the framework was not able to find a suitable search help.
    Using method GET_ATTRIBUTE_VALUE_HELP of the same interface, on the same attribute, returns me '111', which is constant C_VALUE_HELP_MODE-AUTOMATIC.
    Therefore, the WD framework knows it has to automatically detect a value help, but fails to find one.
    Also, this means in my opinion that the ALV and the dynamic external mapping are not the culprits: since node creation, no help is detected for any attribute but the date. Honestly, I don't have a clue on what's happening.

  • Trigger Automatic Search Help in WebDynpro for ABAP

    I have a WDA application for creating a Purchase Order. The first screen has 2 options - one for creating a PO from scratch; and one for copying an original PO.
    The second view ('Copy PO') for copying a PO has a single field (PO document) with a Search Help attached (freely programmed). The Search Help works well.
    Now for the question:
    When firing the second screen ('Copy PO'), I would like to trigger the Search Help without actually entering the view. Is there some way of firing an event that triggers the Search Help without entering the 'Copy PO' view?
    Any help would be gratefully accepted.

    hi gareth.......
                a solution for you.....
                   instead of triggering  a search help....
                  in you wddoinit method... call a popup which ahs a table with all the required values...
                 so when the user selects one... it has to be bound to an attribute....
                 which is then passed to the po field.

  • Access Account assignment data inside custom search help

    Hi Experts,
    I have faced with a challenge and I am stuck. Need some expert advise.  I am developing a custom search help for GL account. Inside the search help exit I have to know what is the account assignment category of the accounting line i am currently accessing in WEB UI. for example i have one item in SC and there is a cost distribution between cost center and WBS element. Now i want to access GL account search help from second line in the account assignment ( ie from line having WBS as Acc Assignment).
    one approach that i can think of is Enhance Accounting WD component and capture the details in a static attribute of a custom class and access them inside the search help exit. I know this will work. But i am looking for more clean approach.
    I saw below code in WD comp method GET_BO_INFO of component controller.
    lo_task_container = /sapsrm/cl_ch_wd_taskcont_fact=>get_task_container_instance( ).
       CHECK lo_task_container IS BOUND.
    * Get the BO type
       ev_bo_type = lo_task_container->get_bo_type( ).
    * Get the BO mapper, BO GUID, and item GUID of the lead selection
       CASE ev_bo_type.
         WHEN /sapsrm/if_pdo_obj_types_c=>gc_pdo_shop.
           lo_bom_sc ?= lo_task_container->get_bom_sc( ).
           ev_hdr_guid = lo_bom_sc->/sapsrm/if_cll_bo_mapper~get_bo_guid( ).
           ev_item_guid = lo_bom_sc->/sapsrm/if_cll_bo_mapper~items_get_lead_selection( ).
    I am not sure if this works. But even if this works I can not get the exact accounting line that the user is currently processing. Any ideas????
    thanks

  • Search help for Web Dynpro using the SAP-search help

    Hi,
    I’m trying to create a generic search help for Web Dynpro using the SAP-search help. It should working so, that I construct a Web Dynpro-component, that gets the data of the search help from the SAP-system, interpreted it and creates the ui-elements and the needed context generic.
    The mapping between the Input field of the customerview and the right search help is to be made with an xml-file, which contains the information: name of the view, the input field, the search-help-name and the name of the field that will be returned.
    The xml-file is reading from a helper-class. That helper-class contains any information, witch need the search help-component as well as the customer-component.
    The initialization takes place in the method wdDoModify of the customer. The call of the search help from the customer should be implement with an Action, witch is bound to a Button(create dynamic in the helper-class behind the input field).
    In a second foot should be create a plugin for eclipse, witch insert the used files (search help component, helper class, …) in the project. In addition it should create the call in the customer generic.
    It would be great if someone can give me a feedback!

    Hi Mike,
    The BlanketAgreement.exe is a reference to the executable that will be created when you compile the solution you created in Part II - Part III. I think there is a mistake in the tutorial because it asks you to name the project 'Blanket' which means that by default the executable will be called Blanket.exe and not BlanketAgreement.exe. The tutorial also misses the step asking you to compile the Blanket project before you go on to create an installer. You should compile your Blanket project in Release mode before creating an installer. By compiling the project you'll get a Blanket.exe file in the bin folder of your Blanket project which you then need to add to the installer per the instructions.
    SAP do offer development courses in some areas and there is training material here on the SDN and on the SAP partner portal (and maybe the customer portal as well). Try searching this forum for 'training' or 'tutorial' and you should get a few links. There's also a development certification.
    Personally I'd recommend you give yourself a little project to work on and just get stuck in
    Kind Regards,
    Owen

  • Problem with Dictionary Search Help

    very good morning!!
    we have a z-search help called 'ZIH_TIPOIDENTIFICACION', and we want to select a line from the help search, and put the values  in two fields. This is easy if the two fields are in the same context, but the fields are in different contexts. Field 1 is in the context BTADMINH and field 2 is in the context BTACTIVITYH and is a field of type 'attribute value'. Only works Field 1 .  I do not fill the Field 2,  the value for 'field-context_attr ls_field ='
    our code is:
      data ls_field   type if_bsp_wd_valuehelp_f4descr=>gtype_param_mapping.
      data: lt_input  type if_bsp_wd_valuehelp_f4descr=>gtype_param_mapping_tab,
            lt_output type if_bsp_wd_valuehelp_f4descr=>gtype_param_mapping_tab.
      ls_field-context_attr = 'EXT.ZZAFLD00003H'.
      ls_field-f4_attr      = 'ZTAXTYPE'.
      append ls_field to lt_output.
      ls_field-context_attr = 'BTACTIVITYH/Z_TIPO_IDENT_TEXT'.
      ls_field-f4_attr      = 'TEXT'.
      append ls_field to lt_output.
      create object rv_valuehelp_descriptor type cl_bsp_wd_valuehelp_f4descr
        exporting
          iv_help_id        = 'ZIH_TIPOIDENTIFICACION'
          iv_help_id_kind   = if_bsp_wd_valuehelp_f4descr=>help_id_kind_name
          iv_input_mapping  = lt_input
          iv_output_mapping = lt_output.
    Any ideas?
    many thanks

    Hi Victor,
    You can access the BTACTIVITYH field from the BT ADMINH context node using the relationships.
          entity ?= current.
    *     Method 1
          current = entity->get_related_entity(
                   iv_relation_name = 'BTHeaderActivityExt' ).      "#EC NOTEXT
          IF current IS NOT BOUND.
            RETURN.
          ENDIF.
    Here the Current referne will have your new attribute to display in system. Use the same relation code in both set and get methods.
    So that both attributes will be part of BTAdminH context node then your above code will work correctly.
    Best Regards,

    Regards,
    Salma

    hi,
    About your requirement, i don't know why you need to code in "Phase 3" of OVS.
    "Phase 3" is used for transporting your selected value to Your ALV.
    I think, the reason why you loose the result table including your customized column title, is that you loose the "Phase 2".
    Generally, in the past i used OVS as the following code simply.Just one example:
    * declare data structures for the fields to be displayed and
    * for the table columns of the selection list, if necessary
      types:
        begin of lty_stru_input,
    *   add fields for the display of your search input here
          carrid type string,
          connid type string,
        end of lty_stru_input.
      types:
        begin of lty_stru_list,
    *   add fields for the selection list here
          carrid type string,
          connid type string,
          text   type string,
        end of lty_stru_list.
      data: ls_search_input  type lty_stru_input,
            lt_select_list   type standard table of lty_stru_list,
            ls_text          type wdr_name_value,
            lt_label_texts   type wdr_name_value_list,
            lt_column_texts  type wdr_name_value_list,
      case ovs_callback_object->phase_indicator.
        when if_wd_ovs=>co_phase_0.  "configuration phase, may be omitted
    *   in this phase you have the possibility to define the texts,
    *   if you do not want to use the defaults (DDIC-texts)
          ls_text-name = 'CARRID'.  "must match a field name of search
          ls_text-value = 'Search Field-Carrid'.
          insert ls_text into table lt_label_texts.
          ls_text-name = 'CONNID'.  "must match a field name of search
          ls_text-value = 'Search Field-Connid'.
          insert ls_text into table lt_label_texts.
          ls_text-name = 'CARRID'.  "must match a field in list structure
          ls_text-value = 'Result-Carrid'.
          insert ls_text into table lt_column_texts.
          ls_text-name = 'CONNID'.  "must match a field in list structure
          ls_text-value = 'Result-Connid'.
          insert ls_text into table lt_column_texts.
          ls_text-name = 'TEXT'.  "must match a field in list structure
          ls_text-value = 'Result-Text'.
          insert ls_text into table lt_column_texts.
          lv_group_header = 'Group Header'.
          lv_window_title = 'Window Title'.
          lv_table_header = 'Table Header'.
          ovs_callback_object->set_configuration(
                    label_texts  = lt_label_texts
                    column_texts = lt_column_texts
                    group_header = lv_group_header
                    window_title = lv_window_title
                    table_header = lv_table_header
                    col_count    = 3
                    row_count    = 8 ).
    when if_wd_ovs=>co_phase_2.
    *   If phase 1 is implemented, use the field input for the
    *   selection of the table.
    *   If phase 1 is omitted, use values from your own context.
          if ovs_callback_object->query_parameters is not bound.
    ******** TODO exception handling
          endif.
          assign ovs_callback_object->query_parameters->*
                                  to <ls_query_params>.
    SELECT * INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE lt_select_list FROM ZTABLE_FLIGHT
                           WHERE CARRID LIKE lw_carrid
                                 AND CONNID LIKE lw_connid
    *ovs_callback_object->set_output_table( output = lt_select_list ).*
    Hope it can help.
    Best wishes.

  • CL_BSP_WD_REFERENCE_TOOL Custom Search Help

    Hi,
    I tried to implement custom search help exactly as the guide "How-To Guide: Implement Value Helps in GenIL Components" instructed but I am facing a problem.
    I am using CL_BSP_WD_REFERENCE_TOOL to store a reference of the context node class to be used in the search help class to get filter data, but it is not working, in method IF_BSP_WD_CUSTOM_F4_CALLBACK~RETRIEVE_CUSTOM_VALUES that I implemented the IR_CUSTOM_REF is initial.
    I debbugged standard class CL_THTMLB_F4HELP method GET_HELP_VALUES and noticed that when it is calling the same class to get the reference the table inside the class that should have the reference is empty:
    STANDARD CODE
    * Retrieve the reference to use if any.
          READ TABLE gt_sel_options WITH KEY shlpfield = if_bsp_wd_custom_f4_callback=>gc_key_ref INTO ls_option.
          IF ls_option IS NOT INITIAL.
    *  the value in "low" might have been cut off, so get the safe one
            lr_ref = cl_bsp_wd_reference_tool=>get_reference( iv_controller_key = lv_key_str ).
          ENDIF.
    I am wondering how that could be possible that a static class has different information when called inside the context node class and when called in CL_THTMLB_F4HELP, the only explanation I have is that the BSP application that is responsible to display the F4 view is statelless.
    Does anyone was able to pass a reference to method IF_BSP_WD_CUSTOM_F4_CALLBACK~RETRIEVE_CUSTOM_VALUES?
    The code that I implemented:
    Inside the V Getter method I set the reference, so class CL_BSP_WD_REFERENCE_TOOL insert into its internal table that is a static attribute my reference:
    lo_iterator = me->collection_wrapper->get_iterator( ).
      IF lo_iterator IS BOUND.
        lo_entity ?= lo_iterator->get_by_index( iv_index ).
      ENDIF.
      IF lo_entity IS BOUND.

    But in vain because in the standard code of class CL_THTMLB_F4HELP when its call static method CL_BSP_WD_REFERENCE_TOOL=>get_reference  the static table attribute that should have the references is empty.
    Does anyone have an explanation how a static class can have different data during the execution of the same program, same user session?
    Thanks,

    Any Ideas?

  • GL Account Search Help Issue

    We want to change the standard search help of GL Account in the Shopping Cart line item.
    Currently it fetches the value from ECC backend but we need to utilise a custom search help from SRM system.
    Pease let me know how do we do this.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
      You can do this with WD dynamic programming.
      You can do with domodifyview badi for accounting component /SAPSRM/WDC_UI_DO_ACC.
      You need to handle both views 'V_DO_ACCOUNTING' and  'V_DO_ACCOUNT_DETAIL' in the domodifyview badi implementation.
    I am sending the sample  code. How to attach the custom search help dynamically.

  • Search help does not work when view context is mapped to comp context

    Hello,
    I am trying to display search help for an input field of a view. The context to which the input field is bound is a node with an attribute. I have specified Dictionary Search help for the attribute. Now when I execute the application, I am able to get the search help in the screen.
    But, I  need to map this  view context node to its comp controller context. When I do the mapping, the search help does not appear when executed.
    It would be a great help if someone can point out an answer to this.
    Thanks,
    Maya

    Hi Maya
    Follow these steps:
    1.Delete the context node/attribute which is bound to search help from the View.
    2.Now Save metadata.
    3.Perform Context mapping again .In the Edit Context Mapping window drag the node/attribute FROM RIGHT PANE TO LEFT PANE and select the entry.
    4.Delete the Input Field from the view.
    5.Save again
    6.Close NWDS and reopen it.
    7.Create input field again and bind it to the context element.
    Hope this solves the problem.

    Ananda

  • Search Help With Input Parameter in WebDynpro ABAP

    Hello all,
    I have been facing a problem regarding a search help I wanted to attach to an input field on my UI. The search help expects an import parameter and offers four output parameters. What I did was to create a context node based on a ddic structure. The structure has one attribute for each of the five parameters. I defined the search help for all context attributes except the importing one where I deactivated the search help. The search help is available on one of the input fields on the view and bound to one of the attributes in the context. The other context attributes are not bound to anything. The names as well as the data types are the same in the search help as well as in the ddic structure, bound to the context node.
    During WDDOINIT, I am setting the "import" context attribute. The problem is that the table with the search help parameters is empty when the search help exit is entered. Do you have any idea what I have to do in order to provide the import value to the search help?
    Thanks in advance and best regards
    Simeon

    Hi,
    By context node, do u mean that u made a drop down with values in ddic structure ,
    rather than that u can use FM 'VRM_SET_VALUES' this would be simpler if that makes sense for ur requirement.
    pls revert if any comments on it.
    regards,
    Dinesh.

  • Search help in BSP? E.g. employee number etc.

    Hello everyone,
    Before i begin to develop that much, it is worth a question, cos not being able to find something in the docs.
    For things like htmlb:inputField, is it possible to get a standard search help when it is bound to data "types" like PERNR?
    The help says that it only knows basic data type like INTEGER, STRING etc. and that the searchHelp attribute currently only(?) supports a calendar for type DATE (which i successfully implemented months ago).
    I wonder if BSP is leaking such great features that even DynPro (at least those w/o the "Web" prefix, i don not kno) have :-).
    Thank you,
    Timo

    Hallo Timo,
    The only thing leaking at the moment is the NA2 in Hamburg port But you are right, BSP lacks such a F4-help feature. It is something that was always on the plan, but never made it to the door.
    Unfortunately, in this case you will have to roll your own, which means as much as saying "lots of development work". (I see here a small business idea:).
    It is true that CRM did implement such a feature, but it was done specifically for CRM and in their context. Maybe they have a few ideas for you.
    regards, brian
