BPC 7 SP3 and Import Excel package

Hi,
I use VPC 7 SP3 (with SQL Server 2005) and I have some problems with the standard package named "Import Excel". The following error is returned:

Hi,
here is more information. The Excel file I try to load has different columns from the standard ones (I have an HYP dimension and no INTCO dimension). I have specified the list of columns in the package parameters interface. It seems that these values are not used by the package. I think that the package waits for a file with the standard columns, no less, no more. It works fine with BPC 4.2 (I use the standard Import Excel package and the file is well loaded).

OWB 9.0.3.37 and imported plsql packages

I have some problems in owb version 9.0.3.37 with imported packages.
I can't delete a procedure/function in the imported package,in the package body I can do this .
The only way do delete procedure/function is do delete the package and re-import it from the db into OWB.
Problem then is that when I valid a mapping I must reconcile inbound the transformation (link broken).
Is there not another way to do delete function/procedure from a imported package.
Is the import of packages in the new version 9.2 still possible?

There is an internal reason (validation) why we cannot allow you to delete functions from a package that you imported. That model is still the same in the latest production release.

Export mailbox from 2010 (sp3) and import into 2007 Sp3 rollup 10

I have no issue exporting the mailbox from 2010.
The issue is importing into 2007. I have a 2003 32 bit server with outlook 2003 sp2 running etc. Every time I try to import I get the below error. Is this even supported?
I've scoured the web, tried fixmapi, added permissions, different switches, etc. The pst attaches fine to the mailbox without issues.

Steve I see that Belinda suggests that this may be a bug and that you are on SP3, however it may be that you need to update your systems completely to see if the issue is resolved. To be able to find the actual patch level you are on you would need
to follow the steps below. Once you know your actual patch level you can either just update to the latest and greatest and try again OR read through the various fixes for each patch newer then what you have applied

How to create form or tabbed template and import excel data

Hi there
I am wanting to know how I can create a rather comprehensive template that will be copied a number of times on the same page but each time will include different data from an excel spreadsheet.
The template will need to include quite a bit of layout and placement of text and images. The fields range from data type including names, phone number, email, prices, description and address. See attached image below of what I am wanting to acheive.
I'm just not quite sure how to set this up as a form/template in indesign and what the best and fastest way would be.
There will be about 6-8 blocks to a page.
Any ideas would greatly be appreciated.

BPC SP3 - Missing Example Data Package

I am looking for the purge audit data package. The help file lists it as an example package, but I can not seem to find it anywhere. Is there a place where I can download it?

Hi Nick,
to purge the audit data you don't need a package because it is already a function into admin module for this.
Under the Set Log Limits section, do one of the following:
If you want to keep all audit data for the selected category in the database, leave the default selected, Never purge audit data.
If you want to purge audit records for the selected category after a specified number of days, select Set purge frequence, and enter the number of days for which to keep audit records in the database.

Joost is right, the original Metadata issue you were having with the Example Import Excel package is due to a mapping error within the package. The package is built assuming the following columns (ie: Dimensions and Column names) for the input spreadsheet:
Category
Time
Datasrc
Intco
Account
Entity
Rptcurrency
Amount
It also has a flat file with the same fields that it maps the excel columns to then just does a standard flat file import.
If your input excel spreadsheet has different columns names (Cat instead of Category) or different columns (missing or additional dimensions), then the internal mappings will be wrong. And all the package needs you to do is to give it the new mappings.
Open it in VisualStudio, go to the Excel file connection and connect it to a valid version of your input spreadsheet with the correct columns. Next you'll have to add/delete/modify the columns for the TextFile connection to match. After fixing the connection you'll have to open the EXCELTOTEXT data flow task, in there, double click on the ExcelFile task to force it to reconstruct the metadata for the new Excel file connection, correct any errors (ie: Remove fields that are not longer valid). You need to do the same to the TextFile task and add the correct mappings between the Excel columns and the Text fields.
Last, save it back to your webfolders either as the same package name or a new name, I'd suggest a new name in My Folders keeping the original Example in tack, and then go to BPC Organize Packages to add it in.
I haven't actually done this to this specific package, but I've had issues with metadata changing in an external source being retrieved into custom packages I wrote. So let me know if this worked.
The other problem with the standard flat file import is curious to me, you see a package status of success but the detail shows a failed step.

import classes from the default package and you shouldn't want to do
that. Put all of your classes in the appropriate packages and import
those packages (or single classes from those packages).
If you insist of having a class in the default package, make it the single
class with the 'main' method' that starts up the entire thing.

BPC10 - Data manager package for dimension data export and import

Dear BPC Expers,
Need your help.
I am trying to set up a data manager package for first time to export dimension - master data from one application and import in another application ( both have same properties) .
I created a test data manager package from Organize > add package > with process chain /CPMB/EXPORT_MD_TO_FILE and Add
In the advance tab of each task there are some script logic already populated. please find attached the details of the script logic written under each of the tasks like MD_Source, concvert and target .
I have not done any chnages in the script inside the task .
But when i run the package , I have selected a dimension 'Entity' but in second prompt ,it ask for a transformation file , and syatem autometically add the file ... \ROOT\WEBFOLDERS\COLPAL\FINANCE\DATAMANAGER\TRANSFORMATIONFILES\Import.xls
I have not changed anything there
in the next prmpt , it ask for a output file ..and it won't allow me enter the file name .....i
Not sure how to proceed further.
I shall be greatfull if someone guide me from your experiance how to set up a simple the data manager package for master data export from dimension . Should I update the transformation file in the script for import file and output file in the advance tab. how and what transformation file to be created and link to the data manager package for export / import .
What are the steps to be executed to run the package for exporting master data from dimension and import it another application .

1. Perhaps you want to consider a system copy to a "virtual system" for UAT?
2. Changes in QAS (as with PROD as well) will give you the delta. They should ideally be clean... You need to check the source system.
Another option is to generate the profiles in the target system. But for that your config has to be sqeaky clean and in sync, including very well maintained and sync'ed Su24 data.

BO XI 3.1 SP3 and Excel 2010

My BO is BO XI 3.1 SP3, and excel is 2010, my webi report has over 65523 rows, but I found in the excel, it will split into two tabs, it does not use excel 2010 feature
does any one know the reason?

Excel 2010 is not suportive by BO XI 3.. It is possible in BO XI 4.0. You can try What Gowtam Allu said, but I am not sure if it works.

How to create package and import from jar file?

Hi all,
I am writing a software and I am not sure how to create a package for the classes.
Say I have two classes in the same directory as follows:
testA.java

both file compile without the package heading;
both file compile using: javac -classpath .\ *.java
Question 1:
I cannot run testA by: java -classpath .\ testA
I think it is a syntax error. What is the correct one?
If I run testA by: java testA
The only output I get is: A test
But I am expecting: B constructor /n A test
What went wrong?
Question 2:
I need to use APIs of another software. I have downloaded a .jar file (xxx.jar) with all the classes in it. And I have put "import xxx.*;" in my source file. But the compiler complains about the importing. What is the right way to copmile it?
I have read a couple of tutorials but they don't answer my question.
(I am using windows2000 and don't have the classpath variable.)

Try moving testA out of the package and importing 'AB.*;'
If you have:

- Add a Userform
- Place 2 text boxes and 1 command button on that form
- Paste all code below into the code module of the form

SAP BPC 7.5 SP3 and Citrix Entering Data through BPC Client and Citrix

Hello BPC experts,
my client is using SAP BPC 7.5 SP3 in combination with Citrix. We are having problems now, while entering data through the BPC Client (installed on BPC Server) and the BPC Client (running on Citrix).
When we enter data through the BPC Client (Server) and expand the sheet, we can only see the data that we entered through the BPC client (Server). When entering data through the BPC Client (Citrix), we can see only the data we enter through the BPC Client (Citrix).
The database, however, saves both entries correctly. For test purposes we created a test report which shows both entries correctly in the BPC Client on the server and on Citrix.
Does anyone have an idea what can be wrong with our system? We tried to create an EvDRE log File for this BPC version as well, but failed. Maybe one of you already did that and can help me with this.

My laptop running XP sp3 and FireFox 3.6 died. I salvaged the HD and put it in a drive enclosure. I bought a new Win7 machine and wish to import my old favorites (I don't have a backup, but the Favorites folder on the old HD is intact).

I have not been able to determine how to import these favorites from the old HD to the new machine. I haven't found any FAQ that addresses this since I can't really start Firefox on the old HD in order to make a HTML backup. Any ideas? edit

Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel assembly provides class to read excel file data, in your web part solution, reference the assembly, and following blog contains samples about how to read the excel file data,
and import it to SQL database.
1.Create a Visual Web Part Project:Create
