  • BPE_ADAPTER error on async BPM

I am trying to build the Collect Time-Dependent scenario in BPM and I'm getting a BPE_ADAPTER error.  This is our first attempt at using BPM.  The error says Unknown_Message, "No object type found for this message" and is part of category XI Adapter.  I am trying to receive an IDoc, map it to a file structure, and append the file structure to a list.  After a set time period has elapsed, I want to FTP the collected data file to the destination.  I deleted everything from the process except the receive and send steps and I still get the error.  It appears to be happening in the Call Adapter step in the XI pipeline.  Any idea what could be wrong?

    Hi Lisa,
There is one more SAP note which talks about this SWF_STRING stuff.....but i dont remember the OSS note number now. I will get it for you on monday.
    Try the following:
Select your integration process from SXI_CACHE and click on the "activate" button. You will be navigated to the next screen. In this second screen, there will be an option to "delete" this process. Delete it.
Then make a change to your integration process in repository say for e.g. add and remove description. And Save and activate it.
Now check the status of the Integration process in SXI_CACHE to see whether the return code is 0.
Let me know how it goes.

    JP,
Are u sure there is nothing wrong in your design part? Also Are u using Fork to receive 3 files parallely, If yes then all the 3 files has been checked for start process? Can u confirm this.
Also in the Inerface determinations did u gave abstract interfaces that BPM is recieving?
    Best regards,

one communication channel xi adapter for a proxy into sap.
then using BPM process as sender to the proxy reciever

i searched forums for this error solution . and i searched my configuration as per the suggestions. the SXI_CACHE return code is '0' only . i searched for syntax errors in integration process there it is fine . i tested my scenario in test configuration ,there also it is fine .
please help me in this issue.
    thanks

    Ramana,
Refresh the Cache. If it doesn't helps check whether the outbound interface and the BPM receive step interface must be same.
    Reply back ur findings!!

  • Error in Business process

    Hi,
I got a error while sending data from HTTP client to BPM.
    Message details
    Inbound channel  : Plain HTTP
    Outbound channel : PE
    error category   : BPE_ADAPTER
    Error Code       : UNKNOWN_MESSAGE
    plz. help me out..
    thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Pls check these things
    - in transaction SXI_CACHE, the BPM has a return code of 0(which means it is active)
    - in the http query string, you have all the required parameters, like sender service, interface name, namespace ...
    - the namespace in the actual payload and the definitions are the same...
    hope this helps...
    Thanks & Regards,

My input file is picked by sender communication channel, but have not reached on the receiver. In SXMB_MONI_BPE, I selected my service and tried to execute, the message is "No Work Items Exist".
    Any suggestions on this....

    Hi,
Go to SXI_CACHE and check the status of your BPM. The return status of your BPM should be 0 . If not, try to activate your BPM from there.
Also, do a semantics check on your BPM by pressing f7. It will display any semantics error if any.

  • UNKNOWN_MESSAGE - BPM

    Hi,
I have created a simple file to file scenario by using BPM.
After activating the changes, the file is picked up from the source  folder but it is not moved to the destination. In the adapter monitor, I am seeing this error message. "UNKNOWN_MESSAGE"
I have followed the steps prescribed in the following thread, but no use.
       [BPE_Adapter Error;
I have checked this scenario by using SXI_CACHE. The return code is 99 for this scenario. After reactivating it the return code become 2. I think it should be 0.
Please help me to fix this issue. Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Vivek LR

    Vivek,
Please check whether you have defined abstract interfaces for all the interfaces used in the BPM.
Use Function Key 'F7' to check if your BPM is syntactically correct before activating the same.
Yes, you are right in that the return code has to be 0 in SXI_CACHE...99 would indicate an error of some kind. But if the check with the F7 key returns no errors, then the SXI_CACHE status would be fine.
    Thanks,
    Anand

  • BPE doesn't activate XML Objects and Workflows

    Hi all.
I have created some BPE Processes. The all are active and with status 0 in transaction SXI_CACHE.
The odd thing is, when I trigger messenges the BPE_ADAPTER error 'No object type found for this message; check the activation of the corresponding process' pops up with a statement in the trace: 'could not create BPE proxy for message, no XML object definition found for message...'.
I have checked the objects, the Proxies are created, what is missing are the Workflows and the XML Objects.
When I access the the XML Object the message is a green 'Definition <XML Object Name> not available', it is created though.
I created a similar process a month ago. This is running perfectly. The system is a 640 on SP17. How can it be that the object generation at activation is incomplete?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Jens

    Jens,
I have experienced the same exception while using BPM. I tried to debug in all ways and could finally solve it.
In case of BPM, receiver determination to be configured to set receiver as BPM. If you do mistake while configuring inbound interface (it should be abstract interface) under interface determination then you get this type of exception.
I suggest you to to check the receiver determination and interface determination configuration again.
    Regards.

  • First Foray into BPM, please advise

    Hi,
I am trying to work through a basic BPM setup, because the process is going to get more complicated. So, I decided to take the basic process that does not require BPM and put it in a BPM. The reason is that I will be receiving syncronous PO confirmation in the future and will have to use BPM for this extension on the basic PO to vendor scenario. How does the steps below look. I am struggling with the ID setup more than the IR development.
    IR
    1) Created abstract MI's for the Orders IDOC and the outbound message format XCBL30
    2) Created an interface mapping between the two abstract interfaces(is this needed?)
    In BPM Design:
    1) Created two containers based on each abstract interface
    2) Created a recieve step and assigned the abstract interface associated with the outbound IDOC
    3) Created a transformation step, the source being the abstract IDOC interface and the target being the outbound XCBL abstract interface, choosing the IM created above.
    4) Created a reciever list container and step using the inbound abstract interface(IS THIS NEEDED??)
    5) Created a send step for the outbound XCBL abstract interface
    In ID
This is where I get confused, what steps are needed here?
    1) Assigned the process as a service for my party
    2) I tried to create a receiver determination this way:
      A) The sender interface is the IDOC TYPE ORDERS05, the
abstract interface is not allowed here.
      B) I choose the Integration Process as the receiver
      C) For the interface determination, the inbound
interface is the abstract interface for the IDOC.
NO MAPPING is chosen(Is this correct???)
      D) A receiver agreement is not allowed for the
integration process, so I created a receiver
agreement for the normal XCBL message, not the
         abstract one.
    Questions:
    1) How do the steps above look, any ideas?
    2) I tried to run it and got a BPE_ADAPTER Error
       "Unknown Message"
    Thanks,
    Chris

    Hey,
So this is my "new" plan of action for the directory steps
    1) One receiver determination where, the R/3 system and the IDOC are the sender service and interface. The business process is the reciever.
    2) One interface determination where the abstract interface  is the inbound interface for the above determination. No mapping is specified and no receiver agreement is required.
    3) One receiver determination where, the business process is the sender service and the outbound abstract interface is the sender interface.
    4) One interface determination where the inbound interface is the xCBL message, no mapping is specified.
    5) One reciever agreement, where the communication channel is specified for sending the message to the vendor.
I will let ya'll know how it goes! Any other feedback is appreciated! The SXI_CACHE is return code 0. So I think my problem is in the ID confige that I am about to change.
    Thanks Alot,
    Chris
