BPEL designer bug changing local scope variables

My appologies if this was already known.
I am using bpelz version 0.9.10 and encountered the following bug:
When I use the BPEL Inspector to change the XML variable name in a scope (the variable is defined locally in the scope), the name change occurs in other scopes (including leaf scopes not in the local scope chain).
Perhaps I am using to old a version and this has been fixed.
Cheers,
-Dustin

Thanks a lot Dustin. I will check it and communicate the same to dev team.

  • BPEL Designer Printing&changing Icons

    Hi,
The following questions are related to features in the PBEL designer:
    1) How can Printing be enabled in BPEL designer to be able to print the process flow?
    2) How to define new custom images to be used in building the flow instead of the default one. Let's say, I would like to define 3 new images that will behave exactly the same way as the default "Invoke" image, but the end user will use the first one to invoke Web Service-A and the second image to invoke Service-B and so on. Of course the user still need to do the configuration to attache the each image to required service.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
The following questions are related to features in
    the PBEL designer:
    1) How can Printing be enabled in BPEL designer to be
able to print the process flow?Printing is not directly supported yet - this is something that should get licked in the very near future. There are some screen or window grab utils I heard could do the job.
    2) How to define new custom images to be used in

Service-B and so on. Of course the user still need to
do the configuration to attache the each image to
required service.Right now there is no direct support for this, but this is something that we are working on - not only supporting icons but also managing sections of BPEL code as patterns or macros. That is currently in the kitchen and perhaps the next release of the designer will have some support fo r this.
    Thanks.

  • Is there any concept in LabVIEW that is similar to static local scope variables in C?

I'd like to retain the value between calls to a subVI, as can be done using a static function scoped variable in C. The textbook example of how this is used would be a variable in the function that is a state machine, and knows what state it was in last time it was executed. A simpler example would be just keeping count of how many times the function has been called.
I suppose I could use a global or I could pass values in and out of the subVI, but I'd like to keep the variable known only in the scope of the subVI if at all possible. For example, the outside world has no business knowing (or god forbid) changing what the state information of this function is.

There is no need to do something "conceptual" or spec
    ific to have this
static variable. You already have this in any control or indicator in
your sub-vi while it is in memory. Control/indicator value will remain
in sub-vi data space between calls. Don't forget about make your sub-vi
non-reentrant or keep track of sub-vi data space copies.
If you want to read/write this value from another vi, consider it global
or I'd prefer to suggest using functional global(uninitialized shift
register in 1 iteration while loop). Think of it as about 1 value data
    repository.
LabVIEW CIN reference manual is a good place to look at, as well as
LabVIEW course kits, describing LabVIEW memory issues in details.
To simplify: create empty sub-vi with control and indicator connected to
each other and call it wiring indicator in caller vi. Keep sub-vi front
panel open and change control in sub-vi manually. You see what happens.

  • "Problem building schema" exception in BPEL Designer

    Hi all,
I use BPEL Designer 10.1.2.0.2 and encounter the following problem:
I built a web service based on the Oracle Toplink How To demo. The web service has one published method that returns a custom 'Customer' object.
I deployed the web service on my localhost (AS 10.1.3)
In my BPEL process, I create a partnerlink based on the WSDL that was generated by JDeveloper and let BPEL Designer create a local copy.
Then I created an invoke and had the wizard create in- and output variables for the invoke.
When I select either the input- or output variable in the structure pane, I get an error message when I click on the 'parameters' entry. The message shown is 'Exception - problem building schema!'
When I check the 'show detailed node information' box no additional info is shown!
Any Idea what might go wrong?
    The WSDL looks as follows:

The problem is that I'm trying to transform this message in BPEL/ESB but the mapper does not understand the schema as described in the WSDL and will not let me do 'for-each' or 'if' actions on the collections of addresses for example.
I've tried injecting my own WSDL into the EJB3 web service through annotations, but it will not compile....
    Can anybody help????
    Thanks

  • Eclipse BPEl Designer -Changes to bpel.xml not saved

    Hi
Is it possible to save changes made to bpel.xml file while using Eclipse? I was trying to set up preference properties in that file.
    Any say?

According to our experience, JDEV BPEL Designer encoutered the same problem, you'd better modify the bpel.xml descriptor using external editor such as ultraedit, and save it.
Modification of bpel.xml works fine for the first time, but often rolled back to the former edition once I restart the JDEV designer. Guess it is a bug.

  • Unable to go to change mode of variable in BI query designer

    Hi Sebastian,
Just see whether you have included nay keyfigures in your column.
Because the suppress result option is grayed out if you donu2019t have any keyfigure in your queries.

  • Dataype of cfdocument scope variables

    Hello,
It seems that since I installed the 8.0.1 updater the
datatype of the cfdocument scope variables (eg totalpagecount and
currentpagenumber) has been changed. Before the update the datatype
was numeric, but now it seems unknown. This means I can't use
mathematical expressions to these variables. Is this a new bug in
    CF 8.0.1 or....??
    Frank

I have done some tests and it seems that the variables are
replaced by {currentpagenumber} and {totalpagecount} and I think
these variables are filled in by the pdf reader. I think we need
some pdf programming guide to find out how to manipulate these
    variables.
I have no clue why Adobe decided to change this behaviour in
    CF 8.0.1.

  • JDev 11g 111 with BPEL designer - cant connect to BPA Server

I have just installed the latest 11g JDeveloper and added the BPEL designer.

Am I missing some setup configuration or perhaps additional updates ?
Has anyone resolved this issue ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
The problem still seems to persist, despite the version change. I have tried with JDev ver 11g and Oracle BPA 11gR1. I test the connection. Result Test Succeeded. But when I click on the OK button, it does not close the dialogue box and allow me to proceed. I need to cancel and hence unable to establish connection .

  • Referencing LOCAL SCOPE varible of outter class

From inner class, I can reference the outter's class variable by OutterClassName.this.variableName. However, the variableName has LOCAL SCOPE, how do I access it?
    Code sample:
    for(int i=0; i<m_keyButton.length; i++)
    m_keyButton.addMouseListener(new MouseAdapter() {
    public void mouseEntered(MouseEvent e) {
    if(m_keyButton[1].isEnabled())
    m_feedbackScroll.setViewportView(m_mouseOverKeyImagePanel[i]);
Referencing i in m_mouseOverKeyImagePanel[i] causes an compile error:
"Acuity.java": local variable i is accessed from within inner class; needs to be declared final at line ...
Any quick solution? thanks a bunch.

The reason it has to be final is b'cos anonymous class
needs to know exactly what the value of i is at
compile-time. Unlike normal and inner classes, which
you could pass in the value via the constructor or
setter method at runtime, the only time for anonymous
classes could know the value is at compile-time.It's not really compile time. Adding the mouse listeners happens on the main thread. The code inside the listener runs on the event thread. The compiler just wants to make sure the variable isn't going to be changed by one thread or the other.
BTW: if(m_keyButton[j].isEnabled()) is kind of redundant. If the button isn't enabled, you won't get mouse events.

  • BPEL Designer doesn't delete the Partner Link wsdl properly

    Hi,
In a development scenario; when a partnerlink is created and then deleted, the wsdl file is not deleted. Hence unable to create a new partnerlink with the same service name. Everytime I endup creating a new service name for the partnerlink pointing to the same DB procedure. This will also lead to the change in the other dependent activities like invoke, Assign etc. as the variable names would have changed. These things will make the developement lag behind the time.
Why BPEL Designer doesn't do a clean delete of the all the entries in the xml files and the wsdl file?
    Thanks,
    Senthil L.

    Hi Senthil,
When you delete the Partner Link it will pop a Dialog box asking if you want to delete the WSDL file associated with the Partner link and If you Click Yes then the associated WSDL with this Partner Link is Deleted.
Only the XSD File generated with this partner link are not getting deleted which is being Fixed in the coming Release.
    Thanks,
    Sunil Gopal

  • Method Scope variables controls Multi-Threading !

    Hye there Experts !
First, let me thank you all for such a brain-stuff sharing around; feel nice to be a part here.
While browsing through the below article, found something confusing...kindly clarify.
    http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-07-2004/jw-0712-threadsafe.html?page=1
Extract from the above discussion I understand :
when a variable is moved to method scope instead of instance scope, synchronization is achieved.
How is this true for servlets ???
Method scope variables are available only during method call I think...here, since this is a servlet, there will be only one instance and if many (lets say 10) requests hits this servlet object, all these threads will read same counter as all of them enter into this only one method of this object,
so...this should be still not thread safe I guess.
I didn't want to execute and see results of this code, but I am trying to understand the key at first.
Please guide me before brain blows... :-)
Would also appreciate any references that really says true things about
'synchronization for enterprize (handle huge requests) web apps - technques for servlets and any other stuff'
Thanks again guys, have a wonderful time.

feel nice to be a part here.Welcome to the mad-house ;-)
Method scope variables are available only during method callWARNING: I'm no guru, so this may be misleading or just plain wrong.. but as I understand it:
Yep a "local" variable exists only the context of the execution of it's containing method... so a local variable is implicitly bound to the thread that created it (by invoking the method in which the local is declared)... a local variable can't be accessed directly by another thread simply because the other thread has no access-path to the variable (you can't expose a local through getters & setters)... hence locals are thread safe.
The important bit is that it's the thread which "owns" the local variable... not the declaring method... if the method is executed concurrently by two threads, each thread will have its own private copy of all the local variables.
One other question though: are locals in static methods still thread safe? I'm not sure.

  • URL Not Changing Session State Variables Specified

I am trying to change a variable on a target page with a URL, however, the variable never changes. The variable is set to 8. I send the following URL which should change it to 0 but it does not change.

Why is this not working. It still works on pages I designed prior to the upgrade, but I can't get it to work since the upgrade.

  • Suggestion: JavaScript scope variables and event listeners

Invoking Java from JavaScript in ADF Mobile is surprisingly efficient although it is still relatively expensive compared to plain HTML5/JavaScript/CSS stuff in the native UIWebView. But whenever you want to do something "dynamic" you have to revert to invoking Java, even for simple use cases. As far as I can see it as soon as you use listeners on components, managed beans or data controls you're in the Java world.
Why not add similar concepts that are pure JavaScript implementations for performance. As an example I want to have a SelectOneButton component and depending on its state I want to enable/disable an InputText component. As far as I can see it I would need Java to make this happen. First, I would need a Java managed bean to keep the enabled/disabled state. Then I would set the value property of the SelectOneButton with an EL expression to this managed bean property, or for other scenarios use a Java based ActionListener to change the state. Then the InputText component could use an EL expression in its Disabled property.
For this simple use case this would still perform fast, but real applications grow more complex.
Why not have the option of creating JavaScript based managed "beans"? The could live on javaScriptPageFlowScope or javaScriptViewScope. Then the AMX components could reference this from EL and it would be even better if we can create pure javascript ActionListeners (or other listeners). This would make it similar to the choice with ADF Faces application between doing a server roundtrip with partial-page-rendering and using pure clientListeners and clientAttributes for optimal performance.
For situations where we do need to power of Java, it would be great if we can access these javascript scope variables from Java.

This is a good suggestion, Wilfred. We haven't gotten to this level of optimization in the framework yet. At some point it's likely we'll have an option for the developer to specify the layer to handle the method.
    Thanks

  • BPEL Designer 10.1.2.0.2 Database Connection Error

    Hi,
I'm trying to create a database connection in JDeveloper 10.1.2.1.0 Build 1915 (BPEL Designer version) but I get ORA-12505, TNS:listener does not currently know of SID ... error for a particular database. I can connect to the same database using JDeveloper 10.1.3 with no errors, also in SQL Plus, and I can connect to another database on the same server with no problem. I need to create a BPEL 10.1.2 process that connects to this database and so far I'm unable to do so.
Here's the full error details and the tnsnames.ora entry for this database.
Listener refused the connection with the following error:
ORA-12505, TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor
The Connection descriptor used by the client was:
    xxxx:1521:oms.x1
    Here's the tnsnames.ora entry:
    oms.x1 =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = xxxx)(PORT = 1521)))
    (CONNECT_DATA =(SERVICE_NAME = oms.x1))
Here's the tnsnames.ora entry for the other database on the same server, that I can create a database connection to. The only difference as far as I can tell is with the service names, the unsuccessful connection has a "." in the service name, the successful connection does not.
    XOAS2 =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = xxxx)(PORT = 1521)))
    (CONNECT_DATA =(SERVICE_NAME = XOAS2))
When I try to create a connection to the same database referencing a second tnsnames entry with .world extension, this also fails with the same error. Here's the tnsnames.ora entry and error message from JDeveloper for that connection.
    XOAS2.WORLD =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = xxxx)(PORT = 1521)))
    (CONNECT_DATA =(SERVICE_NAME = XOAS2.world))
Listener refused the connection with the following error:
ORA-12505, TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor
The Connection descriptor used by the client was:
    xxxx:1521:XOAS2.world
Any help you can provide in resolving this will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Candace

    Steve,
I tried the custom JDBC connection and still get the same error. I have been able to successfully connect to this database using a jdbc-odbc bridge connection after creating a local ODBC datasource, just to see if I can connect at all, but I don't want to have to use this connection method.
I have also tried adding a tnsnames entry with omsx1, and I get the same error for creating a jdbc connection. However, this tnsnames entry is the one I had to use for the ODBC connection in order to successfully create the jdbc-odbc bridge connection.
As far as both databases listening on the same port, this doesn't seem to be an issue when I configure this connection in JDeveloper 10.1.3. This issue seems to be related to using JDeveloper 10.1.2, which I need to use in order to create 10.1.2 BPEL projects.
I was wondering whether it's possible to use the jdbc driver that JDeveloper 10.1.3 uses in JDeveloper 10.1.2? I can post this to the JDeveloper forum if that's more appropriate.
    Thanks for the pointers
    Candace

  • Oracle BPEL Designer with JDev

Can I suggest that the JDev BPEL designer checks for process name validity BEFORE all other error checking?
Otherwise, a poor developer might find that their entire project is unusable because they've introduced a period in the project name...
Still, it's not like I'm not used to restarting projects over and over again because one little change breaks the entire project...
    bah.
    Ahem. Thanks.

    dansp,
thank you for the feedback, and yes we have changed this for 10.1.3.1 (being beta soon)
