BPEL Process Manager says that My Simple Web Service returns null !

Hi every body,
I am deploying a process which invokes a simple web service (TheaterWS) running on Tomcat. This service simply accepts a string input and returns it concatenated with other string . I tested it with a client that I made with JDeveloper, every thing is O.K, But after deploying the process to a BPEL server, I got the following Assign Activity error on BPEL Console:

  • JDeveloper 11g with BPEL process Manager 10.1.3.1.0

    Hi,
    Here is my requirement.
To develop a simple web application which talks to a Business work flow developed using BPEL.
The Setup I wanted to work on
    JDeveloper 11g.
    BPEL process Manager 10.1.3.1.0.
Now the problems seems to be is that JDeveloper 11g doesnt seem to be having BPEL Designer ,is there is plugin for me to get BPEL Designer in my JDeveloper 11g.
Could some body tell me if i can use JDeveloper 10.1.3.1.0 with BPEL process Manager 10.1.3.1.0 if yes then
how do we configure the JDeveloper 10.1.3.1.0 to point to BPEL process Manager 10.1.3.1.0.
    Regards
    Harish

Huh? In the subject you're talking about BPEL 10.1.3.x and now you're asking for 10.1.2?
Anyway, you need the corresponding JDeveloper version to develop the BPEL workflow, ie JDev 10.1.3.4 for BPEL 10.1.3.4 or JDev 10.1.2. for BPEL 10.1.2.
You can install as much as possible JDeveloper versions on your machine. As long as they are installed in a different home. I usually have three to six installations.
Develop your workflow in the JDev matching the BPEL version and develop your UI in JDev 11g calling the BPEL as a WebService.

  • BPEL Process Manager Generated WSDL

We are working on an ant build framework for a Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3.3.0 project, consisting of a main BPEL process that is synchronously calling another BPEL process via an ESB. This second process uses the same ESB to call back the original process.
This of course leads to a circular deployment dependency, where the ESB requires both BPEL WSDLs before it can be deployed, and each BPEL process needs a WSDL for the ESB endpoint to be deployed.
We are attempting to short circuit this dependency by deploying a web application registry for the WSDLs in question, but this presents us with a further problem. The WSDLs used to communicate with the BPEL processes and ESB are not the project WSDLs, but appear to actually be describing web service wrappers generated on the application server side. In order to use the proposed web registry, we would need to be able to predictably generate these WSDLs (or at least representative versions).
In our example it looks like a case of generating binding and service elements and merging them with the BPEL project WSDL , but we do not feel that it is safe to assume anything about this behaviour and would prefer some kind of documentation to inform our decision.
    So, a couple of questions:
    1) Can anyone provide documentation and/or description of how the required web service endpoints are generated by the application server/BPEL process manager?
    2) Alternatively, is there a better way of avoiding or dealing with the aforementioned circular dependency?
    Thankyou

I was wondering too what would be a could solution for the "circular dependency" situation.
In my current project we will build some mockup-bpels(just for the interface) for the time being.

  • Problem to start BPEL Console of Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.3.1.0

    Hi everyone!
I'm writing to yours because I installed Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.3.1.0 but I can't start BPEL Console. I tried to start it by the option menu of Windows XP and by Developer Prompt, but I get a HTTP 404 Not Found page. When I was installing the universall installer told me that it wasn't possible to set ORACLE_HOME variable because it had a value older than 1023 characteres. So, I continue the installation but I can't start the BPEL Console. The Dos Console teld me sometimes when I put http://localhost:9700/BPELConsole..timed out. So, tell me how to resolve that problem.
    I'll be waiting your responses.

    Thanks for your responses.
    Greetings.

    Hi,
    you said:
it wasn't possible to set ORACLE_HOME variable because it had a value older than 1023 characteres
What do you mean with older than 1023 chars?
I think the easiest way is to uninstall the BPEL Console and run the installer again with correcting the ORACLE_HOME problem...

  • Problem installing BPEL Process Manager 10.1.3.1.0

    Hi,
I'm new to BPEL. I downloaded BPEL Process Manager 10.1.3.1.0 for OC4J for Windows. After the download while doing the Oracle Universal Installer I selected "BPEL Process Manager for OracleAS Middle Tier"
    I get the following error:

This location does not contain this instance. Please refer to the Installation Guide for supported versions. Please select a new Oracle Home that contains a supported instance.
Can anyone please let me know what could be the issue.

    Hi,

while doing the Oracle Universal Installer I selected
"BPEL Process Manager for OracleAS Middle Tier" You would select the above installation option only if you already have an OracleAS Middle Tier - and it would then install BPEL PM into the same ORACLE_HOME.
The below error message is telling you the same. You have one of two options:
    1. install Oracle AS midtier first and then redo the above install of the BPEL PM
    2. select the standalone option (not the midtier option)

  • How to install Oracle BPEL Process Manager for OracleAS Middle Tier

    hi,
i need to install BPEL process manager, so i download the following file from otn
    1.soa_windows_x86_101310_disk1
    2.soa_windows_x86_bpel_101310
here i read the document named b28980.pdf from bpel\doc\pc.1012 to install BPEL PM
so i start to complete the pre-installation task
    1.installed Oracle database 10g
2.Run the Integration Repository Creation Assistant on the Database
3.Install Oracle Application Server 10g Release3 (10.1.3.1.0) and select either the J2EE Server installation type or the J2EE and Web Server installation type. selected J2EE and Web Server installation type
and installed according to the Oracle application server installation guide.
installed OracleAS in the path : D:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1
4.Install the current release of Oracle BPEL Process Manager for OracleAS Middle Tier
here they mention to select the J2EE and Web Server installation type because that type is selected in Oracle AS installed in Oracle Application Server
so i start to install the BPEL PM by selecting the setup.exe-->and shows the location source and destination
default destination is : D:\product\10.1.3.1\OraBPEL_1 selected next on the screen
the next screen is select installation type here there are two types named
1.BPEL process Manager for Developer (371MB)
2.BPEL process manager for Oracle AS Middle tier (107MB)
i selected 2.BPEL process manager for Oracle AS Middle tier (107MB) and click next
pop up window opens with title dependencies
    error:
BPEL Process manager for oracle AS Middle tier will run on top of a supported Oracle Application Server 10.1.3.1.0 J2EE server and Web Server Or J2EE server instance. this location does not contain this instance. Please select new Oracle home that contains a supported instance.
so i changed the destination path to : D:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\BIN then also i got the same error.
please any one mention the path for J2EE and Web Server instance for installing the BPEL PM for Oracle AS Middle Tier.
    Thanks in Advance
    Aswath Thaniga

If you choose the developer version you will be fine.
If you have installed J2EE and Web Server installation into D:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1 then this is the location you install your BPEL PM into, not D:\product\10.1.3.1\OraBPEL_1 or D:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\BIN.
D:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1 is what we call the ORACLE_HOME, generally we create a new home for each install, but in this case there is a dependency on 10.1.3.1 OC4J container. So it needs to be installed into 10.1.3.1 oracle home.
The bin directory is just the executables for that home, its not the actual. home.
    cheers
    James

  • BPEL Process Manager caches requests

    Hi,
i recently downloaded Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.2 bundled with JDeveloper.
I created a BPEL process which invokes an external web service. The result of the web service invocation is transformed with an stylesheet using the transform activity and resend to another web service. After i deployed the process, everything works fine.
But now i face a cache problem: everytime i change the stylesheet in the transform activity and redeploy the whole bpel process to the running BPEL PM Server, the change in the stylesheet is not reflected in the 2nd version of the BPEL process. The requests send after the transform activity are the same as in the 1st deployment of the process. Restarting the BPEL PM Server helps recognizing the change in the stylesheet and a appropriate request is send now.
I can see the new stylesheet after redeployment in the .jar file located in the deploy folder. I also see it in the temp directory of my domain.
It seems that the BPEL PM Server is caching somehow the stylesheet used in the 1st deployment and does not recognize changes in the stylesheet afterwards. Can i disable this caching? Or do i have to restart the server each time i change the stylesheet for the transform activity?
    Thanks in advance
    Pete

Maybe there is some caching property which can be disabled?
I didn´t find any hints on the forum and currently i always create a new stylesheet (with a new name), copy the whole content from the old stylesheet and assign the new stylesheet to the transform activity before redeployment, which is a very poor solution but still faster than relaunching the server...

  • Error installing: BPEL Process Manager 10.0.3.1.0  (Windows XP)

    Guys,
I am in the process of trying out the Oracle's BPEL workflow solution. Please pardon me if I am asking obvious questions.
I am trying to install the BPEL Process Manager 10.0.3.1.0 from the following link: http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/bpel/index.html.
    1) Created the Oracle DB for the purpose.
    2) I installed the Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.3.1.0 for OC4J. The documentation I am following says the following:
You need to download the SOA Suite patchset 10.1.3.3 from MetaLink and then apply
the patchset on BPELPM Standalone 10.1.3.1.
As I donnot have access to the MetaLink, I was not able to apply the above patch. Is there a workaround it? Or I am doing something wrong here? Please suggest.
    3) Created the BPEL schema in Oracle DB.
    4) Downloaded the Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.3.3 for BEA WebLogic. Ran the set.bat script that created the BPELDomain, Admin Server and BPEL Server.
I am able to start the Admin Sever (logged in) , but when I try to start the Managed BPELServer, its throwing an error saying boot, ini is not initialized properly. I corrected the username password in boot, ini file, restarted the domain, but no good.
Does not applying the patch hosing me? or is there some step that I am missing or I am missing something on the weblogic side (9.2 MP2).
    Please let me know. Thanks.

    Guys,
I was able to install the patch. Thanks Chintan.
But, seems like I am back to square one. Still having the following error, when I try to start the managed BPELServer from the AdminServer under the new BPELDomain created using weblogic scripts. Changing the username/password in boot.properties(to weblogic/weblogic, same as domain) didn't seem to help.
    Error:

  • How to enable https in Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.2

    Hi,
I have a few security related questions surrounding BPEL process manager.
    1. Does the BPEL engine have the capability to invoke a web service using https (HTTP over SSL)? Does it automatically do that if partner link URI starts with https:// ?
    2. If not, what needs to be done to enable accessing a https based web service?
    Thanks,
    Vidya

    Eric,
I had applied the steps specified in the URL and modified the files default-web-site.xml, secure-web-site.xml and server.xml in directory Ora_Home\j2ee\home\config. Able to invoke the application deployed in Ora_Home\j2ee\home\applications successfully using https.
For securing BPEL process I had followed the same steps by modifying files default-web-site.xml, secure-web-site.xml and server.xml in directory Ora_Home\j2ee\OC4J_BPEL\config. While invoking the BPEL Processes using https protocol I am facing error “HTTP 500 - Internal server error”, after the security alert popup.
Do I need to do any other configurations for securing BPEL processes deployed in Ora_Home\integration\orabpel\domains\default\deploy directory?
    Please assist me on this.

  • Problem with Oracle Lite 4.0.3.0.0 (BPEL Process Manager)

during the installation of Oracle BPEL Process Manager, Oracle Lite (4.0.3.0.0) is installed by default, so i've decided to go with it.
however when i tried to create a database connection thru the wizard it says:
    unable to find driver: oracle.lite.poljdbc.POLJDBCDriver
i need to be able to do this because i want to use the database adapter as a partner-link.
how do i fix this? what do i have to do so that it can locate this driver
there's no problem using the command-line 'msql'
    please help!
    cheers,

  • Installation of "Oracle BPEL Process Manager" (newbie)

    Hello,
I need to evaluate the "Oracle BPEL Process Manager" for a seminar at my university.
I am completely new to the BPEL topic and I need some help installing the "BPEL Process Manage".
    1) I downloaded the file "Oracle BPEL Process Manager (10.1.3.1.0)" for x86 Windows. 340 MB ; filename: "soa_windows_x86_bpel_101310.zip"
    2) In the Install Guide of that package it says there are two installation scenarios:
    ■ Scenario 1: Oracle BPEL Process Manager with Oracle SOA Suite
    ■ Scenario 2: Oracle BPEL Process Manager for OracleAS Middle Tier
I think the best and easiest (and smallest?) for me is the first one "with Oracle SOA Suite". But the Guide I have is only for the second Scenario.
It says the first one would be explained in the guide "Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.1.0) Installation Guide", but there's nothing said about BPEL ! ??
Do I have to download the complete "Oracle SOA Suite 10g (10.1.3.x)" ?!
Or can I just try to execute the setup of my "Oracle BPEL Process Manager (10.1.3.1.0)" without a guide?
I'm really confused here and help would be much appreciated.
    regards

This is the simplest for you for small demos/testcases : http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/win.1013/install/basic_install.htm#BABCHEJI
that segment will lead for installatoin of the SOA with the datbase Lite. Can Lite database work for the tutorals or cause problems for the SOA 10.1.3.4 upgrade etc?? I guess there may be scripts built not for the lite db in the examples and the upgrade.Question, what would be the Lite database name? I have loaded SOA 10.1.3.1 with Olite. Now try to upgrade it to SOA 10.1.3.4.
the part of the upgrade is to run the upgrade scritps. Since the db is lite, we have to use msql via jdbc connection. But I have no idea what's the db name created under 10.1.3.1. Checked ORACLE_HOME/install/readme, there seem no such info. it could be the instance name in the readme. But had it tried, no work.

  • BPEL Process manager connection in Jdev

    Hi All,
We are using SOA suite 10.1.3.4 advanced instalaltion and Jdev 10.1.3.4.
When i try creating a Integration server connection in the Jdev, the BPEL Process manager server conenction fails.
I checked the details the BPEL Identity Service says
    java.io.FileNotFoundException:http://10.209.125.23:80/integration/services/testconnection/BPELConnection
Others i.e BPEL Domain says Not Run.
In the EM console under oc4j_soa instance all the services except ascontrol and javasso are running.
    Please help.
    Regards
    Ashwini

Don't think so, I'm not sure what causes it, just know how to fix it. I have seen it crop up when deploying, and starting and stopping SOA Suite.
For some reason when it occurs bouncing the whole SOA Suite doen't work you need to just bounce that service.
    cheers

  • Oracle BPEL Process Manager Full Cycle

    Hi there -
I am using the SOA suite v 10.1.3.3.1 and deployed my process using jDeveloper BPEL designer. I created a test process for a simple manager approval, deployed it, and approved/denied it in the worklist. It worked fine. I created a new process (a human task for a manager to approve a request), deployed it, went to the worklist and received the above error. The error began when I went to approve/deny. It stated that "An error occured while processing your request". When I dug a little deeper, this was the entire error message below. Any ideas? How do I troubleshoot this more?
Thank you for your help and suggestions.
