  • What is similar to BPM 10g PAPI Caching in BPM 11g?

    Hi,
    Earlier we were using BPM 10g where for BPM workspace/Custom Worklist, PAPI caching was used. Now we are looking for using BPM 11g where HWF (Human Workflow) APIs are present instead of PAPI. Can anybody tell me that is it possible to use caching in HWF APIs and how it is done?
    Thanks

    One of teh difference which I noticed is that BPM Workspace had the left pane where the integrated ADF Applications were visible whereas Worklist didnot have that option.

  • Get Message Notification in BPM 10G from External JMS Provider

    Hello,
    Can anyone provide me the steps how to get a message from the queue (external JMS provider) in BPM 10G.
    I have been looking into this for couple of days now and I'm not able to figure it out. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    NC

    Hi,
    Please find the steps below and change the necessary parameter according to your requirement.
    JMS Configuration and read the message from queue a
    1) Configure a J2EE Configuration in External Resources with the following details.
    Where
    Name: J2EEConfiguration
    Initial Context Factory: weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory
    URL: t3://localhost:7001
    Principal: weblogic
    Credentials: weblogic
    2) Configure a JMS Configuration in External Resources with the following details
    Where
    Name: JMSConfiguration
    J2EE: J2EEConfiguration
    Destination Type: Queue
    Lookup Name: com.bibhu.queue – Refer to JMS configuration in Weblogic Server
    Connection Factory Lookup Name: com.bibhu.cf – Refer to JMS configuration
    3) Configure a Java Configuration in External Resources with the following details
    Add weblogic.jar, wsclient.jar, and jms.jar files
    4) Create a process and add a Global automatic Activity with the following configuration
    5) Add the following code for different purpose
    // The below code is meant for reading a message/messages from Queue
    logMessage("JMS message retrieved from queue: \n" + message.textValue);
    // The below code is meant for sending message to the Queue Where,
    // JMSConfiguration: is the External Resource Configuration for JMS
    // Bibhu: is the message body
    String externalResourceId = "JMSConfiguration";
    String msgBody = "Bibhu";
    JmsMessage jmsMsg = JmsMessage(type : JmsMessageType.TEXT);
    jmsMsg.textValue = msgBody;
    jmsMsg.expiration = 'now' + '5m'; // expires in 5 minutes
    sendMessage(DynamicJMS, configuration : externalResourceId, message : jmsMsg);
    hope the above will help you.

  • Usage of SQL and SQLQuery Component Oracle BPM 10g

    Hey Friends,
    I have created SQl and SQL query catalog compoenents in Oracle BPM 10g, but unable to figure about how to use them in the BPM process. Do i need to create an automatic activity and make implemenatation as method and write java/pbl code there. Please suggest some solution with code snippet.
    Thanks!!

    Having them cataloged constitutes most of the work you'll need to do. As you mention, the rest of the work is figuring out how you want to use them in a process.
    As an example, if you wanted to have method that would return a list of customer ids you could create a method in a BPM Object:
    listOfIds as String[]
    for each element in
      SELECT customerId
        FROM customer
      do
        listOfIds[] = String(element.customerid)
    end
    // return the array with the valid values
    return listOfIdsAfter adding this, you'll notice that there is an error flagged for your logic. Look at the Properties tab and change the "Server Side Method" property to "Yes".
    Now that you have the method that returns an array, you could use it to automatically populate a dropdown field for an attribute in the BPM Object. You'd do this by opening the properties of the attribute and changing the "Valid Values" property to "Dynamic Method" and select the method you just added.
    There's more to it than this, but hope this is enough to get you going,
    Dan

  • Coldfusion Java API Call

    Hi,
    I use ColdFusion 7 which provides a nice interface to the java API classes. My knowledge of java is very limitted but I would like to know whether I can do the following:
    1)- from a webpage submit a file to be uploaded to the server;
    2)- on the server side (coldfusiuon) create a java function call which will determine the type of file the form is trying to uload onto the server and based on this restrict/allow th upload.
    That' s it.
    Ok, I can very easily do this with coldfusion alone but cold fusion cannot differentiate between an executable .EXE file and an encrypted .PGP file.
    It sees both as OCTET-STREAM data. Can java tell me which is what?
    If the answer is yes, could you point me to a good example/resource?
    Thank you.
    Adrian

    HTTP automatically sends the content-type and content-encoding information of the file to the server.
    You should be able to pick out that info from the server by asking for the headers or field data such as "content-type: text/plain" and "content-encoding: utf-8"
    Java's input stream reader will make a guess as to what the stream is if it isn't declared - but can be wrong.

  • Connect Java PAPI client to 5.7 Studio embedded engine?

    I am coding and unit testing some integration of java PAPI client code against a process inALBPM 5.7. But, it is very cumbersome to have to do a fully deploy to a bpm server to do this unit testing.
    Is it possible to configure the properties used to create the ProcessService object to connect to the engine that is launched from within the Studio so that I can test locally on my PC? What would the directory.properties have to look like to do so?

    Could you please explain more about this?
    I want to use PAPI against my local BPM studio. I have the project at "C:\OracleBPMWorkspace\TestProcess". I tried to point the directory to the project, as you suggested. Am i doing it correctly? I get the below exception. Could somebody help me?

  • Oracle Spatial 10g R2 Java API

    Hi All,
    I have a JAVA tool said to be written for Oracle Spatial 10g R2 Java API which uses for example the class oracle.spatial.georaster.JGeoRaster. I have to port it to 11g R2. The tool is definitely written for an earlier version, because compilation fails on for example JGeoRaster.getProperties() method which is not present in the new API. For this new API I have a fine Javadoc documentation here:
    http://download-llnw.oracle.com/docs/html/E11829_01/
    I have searched for a similar one for 10g R2 but found only like
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/appdev.102/b14373/toc.htm
    which misses the oracle.spatial.georaster package. Is there such a package and if so, where can I find docs for it?
    thank you in advance, best regards: Balázs Bámer

    Hi Balázs,
    the GeoRaster Java API was first released with 11gR2. Your first link points to that, or this link:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/appdev.112/e11829/toc.htm
    your second link points to 10g Oracle Spatial Java API, which doesn't include any GeoRaster related API. your tool might have been developed based on the old INTERNAL georaster jar file, which is not supposed to be used by your java program. But if you do want the api doc, you can run javadoc or jdeveloper to find out the api from the old sdogr.jar file.

    Java function call from Trigger in Oracle
    @ user 861498,
    For the future, if a forum discussion is more than (let's say) a month old, NEVER resurrect it to append your new issue. Always start a new thread. Feel free to include a link to that old discussion if you think it might be relevant.
    Also, ALWAYS use code tags as is described in the forum FAQ that is linked at the upper corner of e\very page. Your formulae will be so very much more readable.
    {end of edit, what follows is their posting}
    I am attempting to do a similar function, however everything is loaded, written, compiled and resolved correct, however, nothing is happening. No errors or anything. Would I have a permission issue or something?
    My code is the following, (the last four lines of java code is meant to do activate a particular badge which will later be dynamic)
    Trigger:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE java_contact_t4 (member_id_in NUMBER)
    IS LANGUAGE JAVA
    NAME 'ThrowAnError.contactTrigger(java.lang.Integer)';
    Java:
    CREATE OR REPLACE AND COMPILE JAVA SOURCE NAMED "ThrowAnError" AS
    // Required class libraries.
    import java.sql.*;
    import oracle.jdbc.driver.*;
    import com.ekahau.common.sdk.*;
    import com.ekahau.engine.sdk.*;
    // Define class.
    public class ThrowAnError {
    // Connect and verify new insert would be a duplicate.
    public static void contactTrigger(Integer memberID) throws Exception {
    String badgeId;
    // Create a Java 5 and Oracle 11g connection.
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:default:connection:");
    // Create a prepared statement that accepts binding a number.
    PreparedStatement ps = conn.prepareStatement("SELECT \"Note\" " +
    "FROM Users " +
    "WHERE \"User\" = ? ");
    // Bind the local variable to the statement placeholder.
    ps.setInt(1, memberID);
    // Execute query and check if there is a second value.
    ResultSet rs = ps.executeQuery();
    while (rs.next()) {
    badgeId = rs.getString("Note");
    // Clean up resources.
    rs.close();
    ps.close();
    conn.close();
    // davids badge is 105463705637
    EConnection mEngineConnection = new econnection("10.25.10.5",8550);
    mEngineConnection.setUserCredentials("choff", "badge00");

    To followup on the posting:
    Okay, being a oracle noob, I didn't know I needed to tell anything to get the java error messages out to the console
    Having figured that out on my own, I minified my code to just run the one line of code:
    // Required class libraries.
      import java.sql.*;
      import oracle.jdbc.driver.*;
      import com.ekahau.common.sdk.*;
      import com.ekahau.engine.sdk.*;
      // Define class.
      public class ThrowAnError {
         public static void testEkahau(Integer memberID) throws Exception {
         try {
              EConnection mEngineConnection = new EConnection("10.25.10.5",8550);
         } catch (Throwable e) {
              System.out.println("got an error");
              e.printStackTrace();
    }So, after the following:
    SQL> {as sysdba on another command prompt} exec dbms_java.grant_permission('AXIUM',"SYS:java.util.PropertyPermission','javax.security.auth.usersubjectCredsOnly','write');
    and the following as the user
    SQL> set serveroutput on
    SQL> exec dbms_java.set_output(10000);
    I run the procedure and receive the following message.
    SQL> call java_contact_t4(801);
    got an error
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
         at ThrowAnError.testEkahau(ThrowAnError:13)
    Call completed.
    NoClassDefFoundError tells me that it can't find the jar file to run my call to EConnection.
    Now, I've notice when I loaded the sdk jar file, it skipped some classes it contained:

    The browser shows a message from status bar "The applet not initial" ???? why ???
    Can anyone help ?!

    On first look:
    I am not sure about the Object Tag, but the Applet Tag requires the MAYSCRIPT attribute before Java can call Javascript.

    Yes, the network connection could not be established. Like the error said.
    What you're asking about is the exact reason, but that could be any number of things and not at all related to code. You could have the wrong host, the wrong port. A firewall could be blocking the outgoing connection, a firewall could be blocking the incoming connection. Etc. etc.

  • Using java to call a text file

    I am new to java and was wondering if there is a way of using java to call a text file on my server and use it to create a webpage using a template. Namely to click a link to a poem, and have the java automatically create a page from a text file of the poetry. I need to know if this is even possible, what I would need to look into, (IE: which software or applet to look for), and if there are any sites that anyone knows about that I could learn how to do this. currently I am having to create a page for every poem posted on my site, which takes a great deal of time, and I would like to speed the process up a bit if it is possible. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Why a text file? I don't think it is a best practice of doing that. Just use a database, keep your poem collections there, and set up a jsp page that seek the database, and then display it on another jsp page. I guess you can find similar application in the sample projects provided by JSC.

    Does anybody have an idea why I get the error.
    When I check my config everything looks the same.
    Looks like we never send the first sync call to the proxy when I check in SXMB_MONI and the BPM gets terminated.
    We have just migrated the solution from XI 3.0 to PI 7.11.

    Hi.
    How will that help if we do not send the message.
    When I check the graphics in SXMB_MONI the error occours befor we send the first message with proxy.
    Also extend ASYNC timeout?
    We are using sync communication.

  • Workflow step (Approve Action) calling custom Java Service and "passing params"

    Good Afternoon, Fellow Coders!
    Normally I research and do proof of concepts until I find a solution but given super tight deadlines, I just don't have time - so I need your help.
    I am trying to have an Workflow Approve Action (Workflow Exit Event idocScript call) call a Custom Component (Java Service) AND "pass" some kind of parameters (bare minimum dDocName)
    In a perfect world it would be as simple as:    processContentInfo(String dDocName, String xMyCode1, String xMyCode2);
    But since I am calling the Java Service from idocScript (via executeService) I cannot directly pass params via the API.
    Is there a simple way to do this??
    It seems like if you can't directly pass params you could at least set them in the managed container (m_binder) and just know to pick them up on the Java side via some DataBinder like m_binder.getLocal(
    Am I missing a simple idocScript function that will let you do this?
    Note: I am NOT executing the Service from a URL so the normal ?param1&param2 -> m_binder.getLocal  solution is no good.
    Also, Bex's book warns about Service Classes "not easily being able to call other UCM Services"....  My Custom Service needs to do exactly that (as well as JDBC and other stuff). Is this really an issue??
    Seems like as long as I have dDocName I could use RIDC to hit whatever I want as long as I know how to use a binder, etc - is there some mystic nuance that prevents this?  Or was he just saying it's hard UNLESS you know RIDC well??
    Any and all quality advice is appreciated!  And please, try to give me a detailed answer as opposed to something vague like "try a Service Handler", I need something I can quickly digest.
    Thanks in advance!

    You can set parameters for the service call by setting Idoc Script variables before you call executeService.
    <$dDocName="TEST12345"$>
    <$param1="09876"$>
    <$param2="ABCDEFG"$>
    These variables are then available via the service DataBinder.
    Here is information about how to execute a service from a custom component. There should not be any issues doing this.
