Brconnect Error ORA-12637: Packet receive failed
Hello,
We have a problem with Brconnect (42).
When I start the brconnect program in DB13 transaction I get a following error message.
The error come when I start the brconnect program under user sapservice(SID).
When I start the brconnect program under (SID)ADM user the brconnect start error free.
After server restart the brconnect program run good approximetly 1 hours under sapservice(SID) user too.
We have used SAP ECC 6.0 with Oracle 10g with Windows 2003 x64 R2 SP2 environment.
BR0301E SQL error -12637 at location BrInitOraCreate-2, SQL statement:
'CONNECT system/************* AT PROF_CONN IN SYSOPER MODE'
ORA-12637: Packet receive failed
BR0303E Determination of Oracle version failed
Have you get any idea what was the problem ?
Thank you a lot.
Imre BolykiHi,
To execute the BRTools you need to have enough permissions and the environment variables set for that particular user. by default the SAPINST sets those variables and grants the required permission to the <SID>ADM user for executing the BRTools. Other users may not have enough permission to execute this and in turn these users will not have enough access to work on the database.

ORA-20000 error when executing background jobs in BI System
Hello Experts,
We newly installed NW2004s System. Few BI related background jobs are showing Error no: 4 or Error no: 3 in SM50. Also few BI related background jobs are giving error "ORA-20000 occurred when executing SQL statement (parse error offset=0)". Please let me know what does Error 4 or 3 mean in SM50 and how to resolve Ora-20000 error?
ThanksThis may be to do with insufficient authorization for the user (for creating statistics for example). Check OSS note 963760.

ORA-20000 Error When Attempting to Create a Tree
Hi,
I'm trying to create a tree region as follows.
1) in SQL*Plus as APP: grant select on APP.MY_TABLE to APX
2) in APEX against APX workspace with APX parsing schema: create a new Tree region
3) when I get to the "Table/View Owner" step I select APP from the "Table / View Owner" list
4) hitting Next produces this error
ORA-20000: User APX has no privileges on the APP schema.
I checked the documentation but found no prerequisites listed in the "Creating Trees" section. What privileges does APX need to create a tree against an APP table? I expect SELECT privileges would be sufficient but that doesn't appear to be the case.

SQL Error: ORA-12801: error signaled in parallel query server P007
Hi all
I am getting the following error when doing aggregation for a cube
<b>SQL Error: ORA-12801: error signaled in parallel query server P007.</b>Job is showing as finished but no aggregation is hapenning.
regards
KKfor ORA- 20000
check the note below it shows you have insufficient authorizations.
<b>Reason and Prerequisites</b>
You are using BW 7.00 with Support Package 07 or higher.
The BW module for the update statistics has been adjusted to SAPDBA or BRConnect (with regard to the heuristic, which is when, how and which statistics are created). To ensure that all table changes are taken into account, the relevant information must be flushed from the Oracle memory before the update statistics is carried out. For this purpose, the SAPCONN role (higher than ORA 10.2) or SAP SAP<sid> oder SAPR3 (ORA 10.1) requires additional authorizations that were not assigned up to now.
<b> Note 963760 - 'ORA-20000: Insufficient privileges' for creating statistics</b>
For Error -for SQL Error: ORA-01418: specified index does not exist
check note below-
<b>Note 337830 - BW: ORA-1418 in system log</b>
It seems that Index no longer exist which you are trying to delete. The 900 index, which exists on the F table only if the E table is partitioned, is deleted twice and on the second attempt it no longer exists.
<b>
Note 1003360 - BW fact tables: Deleting index from process chain terminates</b>
If it relates your error it requires corrections for SP-12.
Hope it Helps

Call to WPG_SESSION API Failed. Error-Code:20000
Hi,
to be short:
Oracle: 8.1.7.0.0
When trying to login to the portal application I got this error [bottom of message]
I downloaded the diag tool and run it against my configuration, everything was reported OK.
I've also searched all through this forum and have read similar problem, but nobody had error code 20000.
Would you please guide me?
Call to WPG_SESSION API Failed.
Error-Code:20000
Error TimeStamp:Thu, 29 Mar 2001 16:41:15 GMT
Database Log In Failed
TNS is unable to connect to destination. Invalid TNS address supplied or destination is not listening. This error can also occur because of underlying network transport problems.
nullReza,
Is this a new install?
If so, on a new install, you often need to create an entry in the tnsnames.ora file within the Oracle9iAS $ORACLE_HOME. You can do this simply by copying the information from your tnsnames.ora in your Oracle 8.1.7 $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin.
A lot of times, it could also be a difference of Portal trying to connect to the database with:
ORA817.company.com
instead of
ORA817
or vice versa.
Check http://myhost.mydomain.com/pls/admin_/gateway.htm
In each DAD, it will specify the connect string that Portal is trying to use to connect with. Make sure your tnsnames.ora is using the same.
If this is not a new install, you may have just had a problem with the database. If this is not production, rather than debugging the problem connecting to the database. I have found that restarting the database and webserver usually works, that will at least get you back up and running. Then you can check the alert.log in the database for any problems or issues such as too many sessions, etc.
Thanks,
Sue -

i need yor help.Regards...Hi Bruce,
After you've upgraded the database, there are additional steps that need to be done to upgrade spatial. Here is information from Appendix A3 in the oracle spatial users guide:
A.3 Upgrading from Spatial Release 8.1.5, 8.1.6, or 8.1.7
If you are upgrading from Spatial release 8.1.5, 8.1.6, or 8.1.7 to Spatial 9i release 2 (9.2.0), and if you have not chosen the automatic upgrade option, perform the following steps to upgrade to Spatial release 9.2.0.
Note:
The following steps are not necessary if you chose the Oracle Installer option for an automatic upgrade.
If you have linear referencing system (LRS) data, you must perform the steps in Section A.5 regardless of whether or not you chose an automatic upgrade.
1. Make sure that the Oracle RDBMS is upgraded to release 9.2.0.
2. Connect to the database instance specifying AS SYSDBA.
3. Grant the required privileges to the MDSYS user by running the following procedure:
SQL> @$ORACLE_HOME/md/admin/mdprivs.sql
4. Connect as MDSYS.
5. Perform the migration by running the following procedure:
SQL> @$ORACLE_HOME/md/admin/c81Xu9X.sql
Hope this helps. -

BR0804I BRCONNECT terminated with errorsHi,
It solved after change permission of directory that sapdba_role.sql kept to oradev:dba after that it can write sapdba_role.log.
Thank you for your guideline.
Now, I can ran 'Check database' via DB13 without that error.
Best regards,

COMMENT:I noticed here that eventhough I specifically used (tabname=>'country') it still used "ECI"."COUNTRY"(ALL CAPS) in executing my statement
I also tested on other procedure.

I don't understand why this error happens because
a) the schema and table exist (I double checked)
b) the error only happens on a single schema for only the old tables, when I create new tables I could "ANALYZE" it. I also can "ANALYZE" the indexes.
c)I have used both the sys and system user logging in as SYSDBA
In the ff exercise, I noticed that "ECI"."productrange" will work but "ECI"."PRODUCTRANGE" won't:
SQL>select count(*) from "ECI"."productrange";
COUNT(*)
8
SQL>select count(*) from "ECI"."PRODUCTRANGE";
select count(*) from "ECI"."PRODUCTRANGE"

ora-00942: TABLE OR VIEW DOES NOT EXIST
Can anyone kindly help me?You should not be creating tables in Oracle with names enclosed in double quotes. In that case Oracle preserves the case, making it difficult for others to identify the table.
Create the table without using double quotes (may be CTAS) and everything should work fine.
