BRM message "Role Description cannot be updated" after generate

Hi SAP experts,
So I’m trying to configure BRM and everything looks good except for when trying to generate the role (single role) I’m getting the error “Role Description cannot be updated”. After doing some research I saw that note 1735705 should address the issue but after
trying to implement the note trough tcode “SNOTE” it comes grey out (message ”Cannot be implemented”) so I'm guessing is not relevant to our system.  I can't really find anything else related to a similar issue in the community so I'm wondering what could be the issue here?  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Andrzej,
Thanks for the advice; I was so focus thinking that the issue was related to language (Master role data vs Log) or access on my ID that I forgot about tracing the RFC user.  The issue was due to missing authorization to manage roles from RFC user.  Issue is now fix.

    Hello there dilip77707,
It sounds like you are getting this error message that your iPod cannot be read from or written to when you are trying to update your iPod Nano. I recommend the troubleshooting from the following article to help you get that resolved. Its pretty straight forward, just start at the top and work your way down as needed:
'Disk cannot be read from or written to' when syncing iPod or 'Firmware update failure' error when updating or restoring iPod

  • ERROR MESSAGE: The IPOD cannot be updated.

Please help!! Have tried everything can think of including, resetting, retrying, restarting, reinstalling and restoring. ITunes automatically starts downloading when you connect but then only transfers the first 50 or so songs in the library, and then says update complete. When you ask it to then update the IPOD through file menu an error message comes up saying 'The IPOD cannot be updated, the disk could not be read from or written to.' There is no problem with the IPOD, because I have been able to update it via another PC, it just won't update via the laptop even though the ITunes has been set up on the laptop as the ITunes I want to use.

  • Cannot install updates after updating to leopard

I apologise for me ignorance in advance, I am having a few problems after installing leopard on my macbook which was previously running tiger.
I am unable to install any or updates.
When I am asked for the admin user name and password they are not accepted anymore. It has only happened lately I have been using leopard for about 4 months now.
I have read the other discussions and have been unable to sort the problem. My level of knowledge is pretty basic and could not follow some of the solutions I have found for similar problems.
Can anybody help, and please make it as basic as possible..
    thanks

I also cannot install or update software. I have enabled the root user account to work around this problem. I have copied TEL*'s post where he explains how to enable the root account.
    Hope this helps you.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1383576&tstart=0
"Are you familiar with the "root" user on Unix? It's the traditional administrator account. Apple tries to have you get along without it, so it's not activated by default. But if you do enable the root account, then you can use it to authenticate. When I'm presented with the username/password prompt, I replace my username with "root" and then type root's password. That always works.
To enable root, you would normally use the Directory Utility, which you can find in the Utilities folder. But it will require you to authenticate before it will let you unlock it, which you would need to do before being allowed to use Edit -> Enable Root User. Since you can't authenticate, we're going to have to try a little harder.
Dig out your Leopard installation DVD. Run the installer, and let it restart the system. Move just far enough into the installation process so that you get a menu bar across the top of the screen. Don't start the installation itself! In one of the menus you will find a selection that will let you enable the root user and give it a password. Afterwards, quit the installation and reboot on your normal disk. You should now be able to use that account to authenticate when prompted.
I would strongly advise that you don't use the root user for anything else if you are not familiar with what it's all about. I particularly advise you not to log in as that user. I've been using Unix since about 1990, and I can tell you that standard practice is never to log in as root unless you have something special you need to do. Staying logged in as a normal, unprivileged user is much safer. It's too easy to delete or corrupt really important files if you spend much time as root. This is the rationale behind suggestions you'll see from people to do most of your work on a Mac using an account that is not authorized to be an administrator. I haven't followed that advice, and haven't run into trouble. But Apple has tried to make it not as dangerous as being root, which never needs to authenticate to do anything."

The ipod actually does update adding recently added songs but the album artwork for some of them is wrong, even though it is correct in itunes. After itunes says ipod update complete the "ipod cannot be updated. The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable" message appears. Did you ever fix this problem, if so how?

  • Itunes 7.0 says that my ipod cannot be updated

after installing itunes 7.0, whenever i try to sync my ipod with itunes, i get this message: the ipod cannot be updated, the required file cannot be found.
i was synchronizing and updating just fine with my 6.0. i have no idea as to why i am now all the sudden missing required files. any idea and suggestion lead to my ipod being able to sync and update sucessfully will be greatly appreciated.

I have a similar problem - only mine says unknown error -48. I can not find anything on this site that lists error codes.
Original problem was that version 6 just stopped working - just would not load. So, I went to to website, and found that there was a newer version, so I downloaded and installed that. It takes over 24 hours to import a CD to itunes now (as opposed to 10 minutes), and I can not connect to my ipod (see above). I tried to go back to the 6 version, but it said I could not as files had been changed.
So now I am stick with this new version, which I reinstalled, and I can't do a thing.

  • IPOD CANNOT BE UPDATED ON PC --- HELP!!!

I've got a problem when I try to transfer new songs from itunes onto my ipod shuffle on my pc. The whole thing seems to be working ok, until I get a message saying "Ipod cannot be updated--an unknown error occurred (-36)". What should I do? I've downloaded ipod update, but that hasn't helped. Please get back to me in this forum or email me on [email protected]
    Thanks
    Russell

    hi Russell!
"Ipod cannot be updated--an unknown error occurred (-36)".
are you using an itunes version 4.9 or earlier? with versions 5.0.0.35 or greater, that error code usually shows up as a "disk cannot be read from or written to" error.
the same treatments for the "disk cannot be read from or written to" apply to the -36:
"Disk cannot be read from or written to" when syncing iPod or "Firmware update failure" error when updating or restoring iPod
(indeed, this article used to be called "-36 error when syncing ipod ...")

Whenever I try to sync my iPod Nano (2nd Gen) I get the error message "the iPod cannot be updated. The required folder cannot be found". Have had this problem since I bought it!
Am running latest s/w versions (reloaded iTunes v. 7.1.1.5 twice, and iPod is running s/w v. 1.1.2).

  • My iPod cannot be updated! Plz help!

I'm using a 30-GB iPod with Video, bought May 06 in Japan. It can't be updated for 1 month so far. I still can update songs into my iTunes properly, while songs in iTunes can't get into my iPod. I've tried to reset iTunes and iPods in my PCs for several times, but the problem can't be solved. Error message is "The iPod cannot be updated. The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable". Can anyone show me how to settle the problem? Thank you guys. Van Anh

Oh, I don't think my iPod's being not updatable due to iTunes 7.0 on Windows XP. The error message "Your iPod cannot be updated. The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable" also appears with my at-home PC which runs original iTunes 6.1 (the Apple running disk went with my iPod). I've come to realize that Folder "Photos" in the iPod may be the reason? I deleted pictures in it once, and since then, I can't add new photos, together with new songs from my iTunes library into iPod. When I double-click the Photos folder, the message "The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable" also appears. How can I fix it? I've reset my iPod but failed to fix the problem. Don't anyone of you meet the same matter? Plz help! Thank you guys.

  • "The iPod cannot be updated. An unkown error occured. (-36)"

Hi, can someone help me with this? I've been browsing troubleshooter and topics for days and yet I can't figure out how to fix this one. This occured when I've got my computer reformatted and installed a new iTunes. I can't put anything on my iPod shuffle. The message "The iPod cannot be updated. An unkown error occured. (-36)" keeps on showing everytime I try to put songs on my iPod. I don't know what triggered this. Hope someone could shed some light. Thanks in advance!!

It is actually more simple than iTunes lets u believe.
If you just download an older version of iTunes, most likly the one u had before u updated ur computer, that should fix it and then you can update ur ipod and then get the newer version of iTunes.
Thats what i had to do when i got that exact same error just a few months ago.
If that dont work let me know.
