Browser URL and current page

I dunno if it's a bug or something in my j2ee configuration, but the URL that i see in my browser is always of the page i last visited, not the current one. I see that in srdemo too so it couldn't be my fault. This is an issue,for example, when i use a specific css for a page and to see this working i have to change the page and then go back. Thanks in advance for help

Hi,
the reason for this is that the default navigation behavior in JSF uses postback, which performs page navigation on the server side. You can changes this behavior by setting the navigation case to perform a page redirect instead (declarative option on the navigation case)

I don't know about that video tutorial but a sitewide persistent menu indicator ('you are here' highlighting) is very simple to do with CSS classes.

Spry Menu Bars, Templates and Current Page Indicators

If you have a spry menu bar in your design, then create a template, how do you then go about making the menu bar have a current page indicator on each page created from the template?

First we write a function to initialse the page

The function compares the URL of the page with the link in the menubar and if they are both the same, it will add an 'activeMenuItem, class to the menuitem.
Next we nee a trigger to activate the function. This is done with a load listener as per
Spry.Utils.addLoadListener(InitPage);
Now we need to ensure that our active menuitem looks different, by assigning a couple of style rules as in the following. The !important needs to be there to override the JS.

And lastly we need to add SpryDOMUtils.js as the JS script that we based our JS scripts on

Pagination Displaying Count of Total Records available and Current Page

Hi,
I need to implement paging in one of our pages.
The problem is we need to display the count of total number of records the search has resulted and the search results that fall into the current page.
For e.g. If the search resulted in 100 records total and we are in page 5 (with 10 records per page), I need to display the count 100 on the top and records 51-50 in the page.
How to get the count of fetched results without running a second SELECT COUNT(1) FROM ... clause.
Is there a way to do this in a optimized way?

URGENT: Need help reading URL of current page

Hello kind people!
I need help, and its very simple:
How do i read the URL of a web page?
For example, the URL of this page is:

So how can i be able to read in this URL in my java program?

Going by what I understand here is a simple version of how you can read data from over HTTP.
This expects the "page" to be text (hence an InputStreamReader instead of an InputStream.)

Question about "Get Web Drawing URL and Page Name From" for Visio Web Access

I am trying to get both the web drawing URL and the page name from a list through Share Point Designer 2013, but it doesn´t work.
It looks fine when a do the web part connection wizard. I select from which columns to get the URL and the page name. But on the final web part page nothing happens. It just shows the URL that is selected in the Visio Web Access Web part. I had hoped that
that value should be overrided by the SPD-settings.

I have now saved the Visio-file in .vdw-format, but it says Visio 2010 Web Drawing (*.vdw). Is there a .vdw-format for 2013? Isn´t that the .vsdx-format?
Still doesn´t work with the .vdw-format, but maybe I am doing something wrong.
Any ideas?

WebDav Server Access: Workgroup vs. Browse URL

I am trying to set up WebDav access for a distributed authoring group. Reading the user guide, it appears that the "Browse URL" approach is the newer and preferred access method. The Workgroup functionality is older.
When I attempt to use "Browse URL" and I enter in the URL of my WebDav server, it immediately says, "Cannot find the URL path..." Using the Workgroup approach with the exact same URL works great with no problems. I've tried other WebDav servers and in each case I get exactly the same result--Workgroup works fine and Browse URL says it cannot find the URL path. I would prefer to use the Browse URL approach because it seems more streamlined, but there appears to be some kind of issue.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Hi Adam,
Browse URL approach is the newer and the more preferred method to access WebDAV enabled CMS's starting from FrameMaker 9. The Browse URL functionality should work fine for IIS, Tomcat, Alfesco CMS and Documentum WebDAV configurations.
- What WebDAV server configuration are you trying to access?
- Please check whether you are able to browse the same WebDAV URLs in a browser as well.
However unrelated it may seem, as you have been successful in connecting through the Workgroup route, you might try to map the WebDAV directory to a network drive. I am aware of a Microsoft update for Windows Vista (I notice that the applicable OS include WinXP as well) which enables access to mapped Web folders. Might be helpful.

When i try and open a tab that is the same as the page im currently on i closes it self. not when i type the full address, but when i use the arrow keys to select the url and press enter

Update a browser URL without reloading the page

Is there any way to update the browser url from flash without
reloading the page?
My main interest is in being able to use flash to change the
url variables to reflect what is currently being displayed in the
swf.
ie.
http://www.blah.com?frame=0 might be set to
http://www.blah.com?frame=10 when the swf reaches frame 10,
allowing the user to go directly to frame 10 if they return to the
page later.

You can try a technique that is used by web designers to
prevent back button actions. Through JavaScript you can write
strings after hash "#" - like bookmarking (anchors) and then read
this variables. The advantage is that page doesn't reload and
bookmarks are saved in the browser history (back button issues).

Open URL in current browser window

I'm developing an application that works side-by-side with the user's default web browser. The browser communicates with the app through a proxy, and that works great. The issue I'm having is going the other way. So far, I've only been successful opening a new browser window each time. However, it would be much better to be able to open a page in the current window/tab. I mainly want this to work with Firefox (or anything other than IE). Has anyone ever done this, and is this even possible with Java?

Desktop.getDesktop().browse() is what I'm using currently. I don't think you understood my problem. Currently it is opening in a new browser window. In Firefox, it's opening in a new tab, since I have it set to open in a new tab instead of new window. But, what I want it to do is open in the CURRENT tab. In other words, navigate from the current page to a new page, just as if the user had typed in an address into the address bar and pressed enter, or just as if he had clicked a standard link on the webpage.

I'm not 100% clear on what the requirement is from the description, however it does sound like you are making things unnecessarily complicated.
If you want permanent/ID-independent links then use application and page aliases.

Collecting the URL for the current page..

I'd like to collect the complete URL that created the current page. I'd like to pas this information to a succeding dynamic page, so that I can return to the current page.
I have tries using the OWA_UTIL.get_cgi... routines but they seem to be lacking the parameter list to make them complete. The path and page, but no parameters.
Is there an API routine or a technique to accomplish this in PL/SQL?

You can try a direct connection and select No Proxy in the connection settings.
You can find the connection settings in "Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection"
Also do a malware check with a few malware scan programs.<br />
You need to use all programs because each detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.
