BT Cloud won't upload all files. Always stops at s...

BT Cloud uploaded about 19GB of files for me, but now always stops making progress at "Transferring 1 of 52 files". This is despite leaving the computer switched on for days. If I add more files to upload it does so but always stops again when 52 left. Is it possible to determine which files it is trying to upload. There are too many to easily see which are not yet showing on BT cloud.

Hi Hatchett,
Did you manage to get this sorted? If you are still having problems I can look into this for you. Please could you send me in your details using the "Contact Us" link found in my profile.
Thanks

  • Whenever I try to upload a file, firefox stops responding as soon as I try to select the location of the file.

Every time I try to upload a file, firefox stops responding when I try to select the location of the file. It happens in Internet Explorer as well. Any suggestions?

It happens on all sites, this one included. The "file upload" window opens for me to select a file but before a list generates, firefox stops responding. It must be my computer, since it happens with internet explorer as well, but I don't know how to fix it.

If you use the web interface you can drag-drop up to 200 files at a time.
If you use the code installed on a PC/Mac, you can add a folder using 'add to backup', and all files and subfolders will get automatically uploaded (and thed folder structure will stay intact).  To install, log in to MyBT, choose the My BT Could button, and the next page will have a download button.
Any future changes to files in that folder and subfolder will also get backed up: insertions, changes and deletions.  It isn't a real backup: beware with the automatic client version that when you delete files from the folder, they will be deleted from the Cloud backup.

If you are mainly using it for photos, you may find the not very advertised free Flickr Pro account you can get by signing up with your BT email is more suitable.  Though I still haven't found a really convenient mass upload mechanism for Flickr either.

  • IWeb's built in ftp client won't upload new files

iWeb's built in ftp client is mad at me, refusing to upload new files. No doubt because last Sunday I asked GoDaddy to change my domain name (same site, name changed). They did. Immediately nothing would upload. GoDaddy said "Well some FTPs are picky." Problems continued so I said OK, please change the domain name back to its previous name, and all would be put right again. I thought.
No so. iWeb's ftp client seems still offended for having been disturbed. I make a change. Save. Click Publish Site Changes. Get the window saying Content Rights. Click Continue. The blue line scrolls nicely, "Publishing will continue in the background" shows, then **"Your site has been published"**...
...but no changes or files have been uploaded. The old page is the same.
Looks like I permanently po'd iWeb’s ftp. Should I give up and rebuild my site in a new folder? Try Fetch?
I shouldn't have done that stupid thing last Sunday. Live and learn.
    Help?

The root folder on the server is the top level one that you upload your files to.
You publish your website files to a local folder on your Mac. This produces an index.html file and a folder with the same name as your site in iWeb.
An FTP application transfers the files on your Mac to the root folder on the server using File Transfer Protocol.
Unlike Cyberduck, most shareware FTP applications will show both the files on your Mac and those on the server in the same window so its just a question of browsing to the folder containing your website files on your Mac and dragging them across to the icon of the root folder on your server. The application will take care of the rest.
The process really is just about as simple as dragging files from one folder on your Mac to another as long as you have the FTP application set up correctly.

  • Can I set Finder to open all folders so I can see all files always

Is there a way to set Finder to open all files when I click on say "Documents" or "Music" or whichever? As it is set I have to click on every plus sign within a folder or folders themselves to see what is inside, and, for example, in Music, it means hundreds of folders where the individual songs reside.
    Thank you.
    Roxy

Actually, there is a way to do this on a folder by folder basis: for instance, if you have your home folder open and in list view, if you hold down the option key and click on the arrow in front of the Documents folder, it will open, and every single sub-folder and sub-sub-folder will also open. This produces a pretty unwieldy window, and I can never remember the key combo to get them to all close up again (I'm sure there is one.....), but it does work.
    Francine
PS--It seems simply clicking the arrow to close the Docs folder does sort it out so a normal click produces a non-opened state of the sub-folders.

  • Imac won't recognize all files on external.....

Hi guys, fairly new to apple here so this is prolly an easy fix. I have a late 06 early 07 17 in imac running 10.4.11 Problem is, i recently purchased a seagate 1TB external hard drive. Well, Mac reads all of my pictures, folder with audio books..... it reads music and movie folders, but reads music and movies as empty with no contents. I can plug the same hard drive back into my pc laptop and it works perfectly all files are present...... please help, any ideas or fixes will be greatly appreciated.....

A drive purchased new will likely be formatted NTFS. Tiger can read NTFS but can't write to it. I'm guessing this may present problems when trying to create a Mac directory of the files actually present on that drive.
    Various options.
Format drive (backup files first!!) to FAT32. Downside is FAT32 has file size limit of 4GB so no good if used for huge files (many small still OK). Also FAT32 can't be repaired by Mac disc repair tools.
Format drive to Mac Extended. Downside is PC can't read drive unless you get special software for PC.
Uh, I think there's a third options which is software to enable Mac to work with NTFS but I don't recall it being an ideal solution.

  • Muse upload all files to BC

    Muse upload
I have problems with the muse, as follows:
every time I change something in the muse  and I'm going to publish my site, muse upload all the pages that I have
Does someone already has such or similar problem?
    p.s.
    upload = only modified files

    Hi Andrew
Did you manage to find a solution to the problem of republishing the whole site even when the "publish only changed pages" box is ticked?
I've been working on my site for about 18 months, uploaded it many dozens of times during that time, and it seems to republish the whole thing (currently 168 pages) almost every time. Yesterday I literally moved one html Google ad about 15 pixels to the right, and tried to republish, and it went through the whole thing again, taking a couple of hours.
The site is still not live, just on Business Catalyst, so this hasn't really been a big problem — I normally just leave it to update overnight. But when it goes live, hopefully within a coupe of months, it would of course be very useful to be able to update it much more quickly.
Any thoughts would be welcome please. The address at the moment is http://imotorcycle.businesscatalyst.com (the site is currently whirring away in the background as it republishes again...)
By the way I noticed that most of the images are showing as not properly linked, although I've never moved them from the folder system they are in, and were in when loaded into Muse. There are many hundreds of pics so it would be a pain to have to link them all manually, and I don't understand how they've become unlinked. Is there some way round this. I've very reluctant just to chuck them all in one huge folder, as one forum poster recommended, as this would make it very difficult to locate any that I wanted to use again, and just doesn't seem sensible. I take it this couldn't have anything to do with the whole site needing to republish each time?

  • Itunes library too large and won't recognize all files, just new ones but

still shows the old ones and their location in the library. I was keeping the library on the 2TB external drive. It got too large. Now I want to put the music on one of the 1TB drives and just the videos on the 2TB drive. From my PC, I can watch everything.
I cannot download to an iPod or iTouch anything from the 2TB drive. When I hit max capacity, I temporarily started saving on one of my internal 2TB drives (space wh*re, I know)before I hit on what my solution would be, and now I can only download from that location. Why?
What can I do? I even tried switching the library location back, and it won't recognize anything. I'm screwed, and I have all this material... YEARS of collecting...
    Someone please help me...

To clarify, currently on the 2TB external drive are music and videos. I want to split them up and hopefully save some space - and maybe foresee problems in the future when I hit max capacity on the 1TB external, and think about a 4GB (not the best option I see at this time) or another 2 2TB drives.
Doesn't the Library file just save locations when iTunes closes down so everything should be OK? I mean, the prog can recognize everything, it just won't download to anything, even if I move from the external drive an older movie to the new drive, it refuses to "see" the movie so I can download it.

  • LR4 Import won't import all files from a folder

Have just installed Windows LR4 trial, told it to Import files from my photo collection in a folder + subfolders on a network attached storage (NAS) unit. Windows Explorer tells me that there are 10,308 files in 408 folders in the main folder, totalling 38.8gb but on scanning the folder prior to import LR4 tells me that there are only 9,612 photos.
My photo collection folder contains only photos and no other file types.
Why is there this discrepancy ? I've searched around to see whether there is some hidden filter that is excluding certain photo files but cannot find anything of that nature.

Thanks again for this lead. After initially getting nowhere with it it, and after investing a lot of time, it turned out that I was getting nowhere because Windows Explorer wasn't revealing all the files in the Photo folder of my network drive (despite my going through all the settings to Reveal Hidden Files, etc). When, in the search for the "missing" 600+ files that LR didn't find, I trawled the Photo folder with WinDirStat instead of Windows Explorer it revealed 167 files with the suffix .xmp and 369 files with the suffix.db (plus a smaller number of .bmp .jpeg, .pia, etc.). I don't know what the .db files are (possibly debris from previous photo indexing software) but presume that LR doesn't need them.. The .xmp files, I see, are an Adobe format and I don't know (yet; I'm reading the manual) whether LR uses them.
    Again, thanks for your help.

  • LR5 won't import all files in a folder

I'm trying to import files into a new LR5 catalog but it will only import some of them. The files are all jpg format. I've tried copying the files to another volume with the same result. About 70 of 79 or 150 of 219 files will be cataloged. The library matrix will have placeholders for all the files but only some will be previewed and only those previewed will be imaged.
Am I missing a preference setting?
Using MacOS 10.9 (Mavericks) on a MacBook Pro, 2.6 GHz Core i7 with 16 GB of RAM memory.

  • Lightroom 4 RC2 won't upload raw files direct from Canon 5d mkiii camera

I can upload to DPP and then transfer the files into Lightroom but when I try and upload directly Lightroom just says, "Files not Uploaded not recognised" and I get an option to save or cancel. Why?, with LR3 raw files from my old camera uploaded just fine, whats going on.

You have a new camera, it is not yet supported in ACR or Lightroom. Most likely it will be supported in the LR4.1 proper, but not yet.
I assume your old camera is a 5DII, that is supported as its an older model.
If you want to use LR4.1RCx and your Canon 5DIII, you will need to convert from CR2 to DNG with the Adobe DNG Converter
    link to the download
http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/extend.displayTab2.html and scroll down a screen or so to find the links for MAC or PC depending on your software.
This will work til Lightroom natively imports Canon 5DIII RAW images

  • Flash Player won't run all files in FireFox

A service related web site I visit recently posted a photo
gallery I sent them. I have been unable to view it using Flash
Player 9 in Mozilla FireFox. I am able to view all the pre-existing
photo galleries. When I right click on the window, I get the
message "movie not loaded". I am able to view the files in IE. This
is really puzzling. The administrator of the web site has tried
reloading my files, but that has had no effect. HELP please.

I am facing a similar problem. Almost all of the flash movies
are not being played by the flashplugin on firefox. A right-click
pops a drop-menu with "Movie not loaded..." and "About Adobe Flash
Player 9" entries. Please do reply if you find a solution to this.
    Thanks.

  • InDesign won't print all files in "Book" to PDF

I have 69 .indd files created in CS5 (ver7) that are part of a "book". I have been trying to "print" this book to PDF so I can submit a single PDF to the commercial printer. I do this all the time and have never had problems like this, but this is a new publication.
Here is what happens: I select all the files defined in the book, then click on the "Print the book" icon. After InDesign gathers all the document information, I select my Print Preset, with "Adobe PDF" as the printer, then print. After processing a few moments, I save the file, and InDesign/Acrobat starts processing the PDF. The complete book is 542 pages, but the PDF file pops up as completed with only about 38 pages processed; in the meantime, InDesign/Acrobat is still processing the files, but results in no new PDF file created.
I have rebooted and the problem has persisted.
In addition to this, another problem has cropped up and I wonder if it is somehow related. Parts of a master page (page heading) mysteriously appear on a page defined by another master page. There is no way to delete this unwanted heading, even if I "Override All Master Page Items".
    Any help is appreciated.

I would recommend exporting the book to PDF rather than printing to PDF....
Master objects from a different master might be appearing if they are on the other half of a master spread that is applied to the other half of the document spread and they touch that side of the master as well as being on the half not in use. Check the master in questina and be sure that the objec is not crossing the gutter.

  • SL won't copy all files

When trying to copy files from one NAS drive to a second for back up I received an error message that "the operation can't be completed because the item already exists" while in fact the folder has been copied with one or two of the items but not all. The only work around has been to copy each folder individually. Nested folders do not copy either. Makes back up impossible.

The operation can’t be completed because an item with the name “20100401 Images” already exists.
I get this also, just started when I try and copy from a jump drive to an external USB drive.
