Bug 6265809 included in a 1.5 release?

Bug 6265809 was originally reported in release 1.5.0_x, but it was only fixed in the mustang release according to the bug report.
http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6265809
I do not see this bug included in the 1.5 release notes. Does anyone know if this be fixed in a 1.5.0 release?

Is the API included in J2SE 1.5 Open Source and ifso
how can I find the code?It's not open source, you can find the code in your
src.zip file in the root of your SDK directory.
I am one of these people that needs to see the'nuts
and bolts' of anything before i can trulyunderstand
it. I would like to be able to see exactly how a
program works, all the code behind theclass/method
calls. For instance, somewhere, somehow the code:
JButton button1 = new JButton("Java");
must actually draw a rectangle, colour it grey,write
"Java" on it and position it etc.No, that's not the job of the button constructor .
Good Luck
LeeSo it would be, in theory, possible to write a fully functional Aplication without ever using the API. If of course one was barking mad and had all the time in the world one could, just by using the Keywords and Reserved words. As I see it, the world of software engineering is getting so complicated and convoluted that an apprentice to a language sinks before he can swim. In the basic most atomic level of Java, it is a simple easy to understand language: easy syntax and keyword/constructs. However, the novice, like me, is blinded by all these "technologies" and funny weird sounding names!!
Thanks anyhow

  • [Solved] Kernel BUG at include/linux/netdevice.h:501, and sky2?

    So, ever since a certain point in time between kernel 3.11.x and now (3.12.5-1), I have been getting this strangely inconsistent error on bootup. I would estimate that about 3 out of every 4 reboots leads to this error message, and the bootup process terminates in a black screen and what (appears) to be a system hang. However I CTL+ALT+F2, log in, and I output dmesg to a boot log, and everything my eyes have seen is now your visual property as well. The remaining 25% of my reboots patches through and boots directly to my window manager successfully. Now the output seems to be screaming to me "sky2 is the culprit", as EIP seems to be pointing in its general direction at the time of error.  However, I am more inclined to believe that my hardware's interaction with the driver is more likely to be responsible. If sky2 was actually a real problem, I doubt I would be the only one complaining about this. Nonetheless, I am quite vexed, and would greatly appreciate anbody's help here. Much appreciated, and perhaps I can provide you with some other (perhaps) useful information:

    UPDATE: So I ran some low level troubleshooting and decided to test out the linux-lts (3.10.24-1-lts) kernel. No problems at all. Everything works fine with my ethernet adapter and the sky2 module. It just appears that something occurred in the newer kernels to break the interface for at least one Marvell adapter. This solution works for now, but I suppose I should file a bug report eventually. In the meantime, any insight is welcome.

  • Kernel BUG at include/linux/netdevice.h:472!

    After updating to  Linux 3.10.5, i'm getting so much garbage at startup and at shutdown and most of the times system won't work at all.
    I'm posting some of the output from journalctl that might be of general interest:
    perf_event_intel: PEBS disabled due to CPU errata
    [Firmware Bug]: ACPI: BIOS _OSI(Linux) query ignored
    Cannot add dependency job for unit display-manager.service, ignoring: Unit display-manager.service

    pam_systemd(login:session): Failed to connect to system bus: Did not receive a reply.
    Problem persists in linux-3.10.5 [core] & linux-3.11 [testing]
    Now, For the time being i'm using linux-lts "which is working fine" but i want to know, if there is any fix for linux-3.10.5??
    If Not!! Then, if somebody knows how to make it work please!! tell me or are there any patches that can fix these kernel issues.

    You'd better post more of the dmesg, giving parts of it is not really useful.

  • 2.2.1 released, bug fixes - including lossless skipping?

    Downloading now...
    Scott

    This update didn't fix lossless skipping for me...I have a song with UTF-8 characters in the ALAC tag, and it works fine on my iPod 5G, but not on my iPhone which I just updated. It shows the album pic briefly and moves on to the next song
    Of course this isn't the skipping that you guys are talking about...this is skipping the song altogether ...

  • SJSAS EE 8.1_02 / Bug in jss4.jar breaks our new release

    +[Full environment description below]+
    Problem description: our application server contains several applications including one J2EE application made of several WARs and EJBs. One of these EJBs starts some internal services that use an open source library called jsch [1] to make SFTP transfers (we use jsch 0.1.31). This jsch library relies on javax.crypto and negotiates encryption with the remote SFTP server. Doing so, it selects a cryptographic cipher. This works well from our development and build environments but fails on our test server which uses Sun App Server 8.1_02. This server doesn't deploy a JavaCAPS application internally (we have a separate App. Server for it).
    For some reasons (that I do not yet completely understand), our test (and production) Sun AS contains in the classpath a library (jss4.jar) and this library contains a cipher that is used for the transfer. The library may be related to Sun Application Manager or for some security setup but I am not yet sure. It may be standard with Sun AS EE.
    As shown in the appendices below, this library seems to contain a bug causing the SFTP connection to fail. If the code is indeed the one that is used in jss4.jar, then the library is obviously broken. But the only Sun patch I've seen that upgrades the library was http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/document.do?assetkey=1-21-119211-14-1&searchclause=jss4.jar . Tt doesn't seem to address our problem (at least in the patch documentation).
    I think that we now need some help/feedback from Sun. We have to either
    * find out if we can remove this library from the classpath
    * find a way to bypass the use of the cryptographic component
    * or get a fix for the library itself.
    Is it possible for someone at Sun to help us fix this issue ? We've to release again the application with a fix ASAP.
    Cheers,
    Jerome

    Sign, I knew.
    Before writing my last message, I had found the following buggy code[1],
       public int engineUpdate(byte[] input, int inputOffset, int inputLen,
           byte[] output, int outputOffset) throws ShortBufferException
           byte[] bytes = engineUpdate(input, inputOffset, inputLen);

           System.arraycopy(bytes, 0, output, outputOffset, bytes.length);
           return bytes.length;
    and I had strongly believed that the problem had come from it,
    but it is contradict to your success with your own compiled jar.

    Sign, I knew.
    Before writing my last message, I had found the following buggy code[1],
       public int engineUpdate(byte[] input, int inputOffset, int inputLen,
           byte[] output, int outputOffset) throws ShortBufferException
           byte[] bytes = engineUpdate(input, inputOffset, inputLen);
           if( bytes.length < output.length-outputOffset ) {
               throw new ShortBufferException(bytes.length +  " needed, " +
                   (output.length-outputOffset) + " supplied");
           System.arraycopy(bytes, 0, output, outputOffset, bytes.length);
           return bytes.length;
    and I had strongly believed that the problem had come from it,
    but it is contradict to your success with your own compiled jar.

  • Photoshop Bug: Sliders getting stuck to mouse after release (Mac OS)

    When dragging various sliders in Photoshop CS5, very often these sliders get "stuck" and move with the mouse even though you have released the mouse. Say you are dragging a slider to set the brush opacity to 50%. When you have set it to 50%, you release the mouse and move it away from the slider, only to find that the opacity still increases or decreases as you move your mouse. You have to click again to fix this, but then of course you have to go back and do it again.
    Below is a small illustration (I can't take a screenshot of my mouse) of an example of when this happens:
    This happens to me around once every 5 times I use a slider, i.e. extremely often. As you can imagine, it's very annoying and frustrating.
    I use a Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet, and I never use Photoshop without it so I cannot confirm whether this bug happens with a mouse or just the tablet.
    It doesn't just happen like on the above illustration, but also with any slider such as those in Adjustment Layers and Filters.
    The bug does not happen when using tools on the canvas (thankfully). So the Brush tool, and every other tool, works fine and never gets "stuck".
    I have the latest version of Photoshop CS5.
    This is a bug that has always been in CS5 since the first version, and it has not been in previous versions of Photoshop.
    Does anyone else have this issue? Anyone else with a Tablet?
    I know there are large amounts of similar, extremely annoying bugs in CS5, but this one is just driving me crazy.
    Late 2008 15" MacBook Pro
    OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.7 (but the problem has existed way before 10.6.7)
    Photoshop CS5 version 12.0.2

    Chris—I'm sincerely sorry that you were called at home on a holiday weekend about my post.  Sincerely.  I'm sorry.  That shouldn't have happened, and I apologize for that.
    I do ask that you also understand that I spent my entire weekend trouble-shooting this issue—which is now several months old—while waiting for an answer or at least a respectful and helpful response of some sort.  Here we are with another week down the tubes and still have yet to receive some sort of expression of an Adobe employee taking my case seriously.  I don't know if you—or anyone else—is investigating this.  As best I can tell, you are not—and I base that on the series of confusing (and in some cases, patently false) assertions that you made regarding the facts of this matter—including confidently promoting the notion that this is not a problem with Photoshop CS5 (which it clearly is), and the notion that I hadn't done anything to narrow down the list of possible causes—which I clearly have.  If you disagree, as you claim to, with either of those statements—then the very least you (or someone at Adobe) can do is to take ten minutes out of your schedule to draft a proper, logical and honest assesment of why you have come to those conclusions.  I don't think that's asking too much at all.  In fact, it's very disappointing that I've had to expend as much effort as I have to deal with this issue—and I still don't have an official, "right on, we're working on it," from you guys.
    If you want to make a case that it was abusive of me to telling you that Layer Styles was likely the cause of this issue—go right ahead.  I admit that my entire statement was a bit "hot," but you have yet to even acknowledge the validity of my concern—much less the tremendous effort I've undertaken at my own personal expense (and at your/Adobe's benefit) to contribute to the resolution of this problem... or the real-world dollars and opportunity cost to my creative reputation.  Do you have many other users who go to these lengths when identifying bugs?  I doubt it.  As I've told you in another thread—if you've heard from me, it's only after I've already expended significant effort trying to solve the problem on my own.  I don't whine about stuff and ask other people to fix it, if I can fix it myself.  But I can't.  I'm not a programmer, and I don't know how to run any diagnostics on my own—although trust me—I've tried.  I've tried Xcode, and learning Applescript to see if I could craft my own workaround or identify the issue with even greater clarity.  But I don't know either of those technologies, and it's not work that I should be doing anyway.  There is a reason that a CS5 Design Master license costs upwards of $2,500, right?  I've gotten much more attentive and respectful response from free apps than I've gotten from Adobe over this issue.  What is that license for, if not for respectful customer service?
    I have never received a paycheck from Adobe, Chris.  I receive (small) paychecks when I get my work done—which I have not been able to do for over a week now... and this is not the first time that has happened as a result of this bug.  And the week before this reappeared, I spent a significant amount of time testing out CS6 and taking notes to share with you and your development team—for no other reason that that I know this program inside and out (or at least large portions of it), and want to contribute to it in any way I can.  So yeah... I was angry.  Truthfully—I still am.  My paycheck isn't even the reason I do what I do.  I do what I do because it fulfills me on an emotional and spiritual level—which I stated in my very first post back in April.  Suffice to say—I feel spiritually and emotionally drained right now.  I'm just so incredibly exhausted, having spent the last couple hours nearly driven to tears by the combination of a fulll week of never-ending frustration, the loss of an important client and my favorite project, and what seems to be a total disregard for my case by you and whomever else from Adobe has read these posts without taking action to begin bringing about resolution.
    Again—if you have a case to make, then make it.  Thus far, you've said a few things which made it seem like either a) you haven't even read the top-line details of my detailed reports, or b) that you are determined to squash me—not the bug.  I've explained why I've come to those conclusions very clearly.  Your assertion that I hadn't narrowed anything down is so demonstrably false that I consider that to be an abusive statement.  Your mention of Wacom drivers and third-party-related possibilities right after I'd spent about an hour composing a post (following up on a couple of days worth of volunteer trouble-shooting) detailing to the nth degree why it absolutely could not be either one of those things is totally perplexing, to the point where it make so little sense that someone of your presumed intelligence (i.e. a big-shot developer for one of the worlds most well-known applications) could actually respond that way after reading any part of what I'd just wrote.  It makes no sense.  Either you didn't read it, or you did read it, and you had a reason for making a statement that you knew wasn't in line with the facts of the matter.  I don't know which one it is, but it's one of those things, unless I'm totally missing something.
    You have offered a few terse responses to my very detailed reports—and in the few short sentences that you've wrote, you've made many statements that have no effect on pushing the issue forward or getting it closer to resolution.  I don't want it to be a personal issue—but I don't feel like I made it personal until you did.  Yes, my statments were direct and pointed—but at least they've been transparent, articulate and well-explained.  You continue to speak about things like my continued accusations, your weekend, the TOS of the forum, and all sort of things that only exacerbate an already-painful, already-costly issue.  I've told you that I am determined to get resolution on this issue—and I am serious.  I will not accept blanket dismissals, and I will not be intimidated into backing down from my demand for a resolution.  I have helped you get as far as I can get on my own, and I am willing to continue to help in any way I can.
    I quit a very high-paying job 4 years ago to pursue a career as a designer.  I make next to nothing now, but I feel fullfilled because of the creative process.  This bug has prevented me from all fulfillment.  It has strained my personal and professional relationships, and has taken a heavy emotional toll on me.  Please step up and make an effort to get it resolved—or at least assign someone else to solve it.  I can provide whatever you need from my end—and again, I'm sorry for your phone call this weekend.

  • JSP demo PTS included with Oracle 9i Developer Release for Mac not working

    Hello all, please pardon my ignorance, but I am an Oracle DBA not a JSP programmer.
    I have installed Oracle 9i developer release for Mac OSX and it included a demo application in JSP called pts.
    I followed all the instruction and it still doesn't seem to work.
    When I try to login to the application I get the following exception:
    exception
    org.apache.jasper.JasperException: Unable to compile class for JSP
    An error occurred at line: 3 in the jsp file: /oradev/pts/solmktinit.inc
    Generated servlet error:
    [javac] Since fork is true, ignoring compiler setting.
    [javac] Compiling 1 source file
    [javac] Since fork is true, ignoring compiler setting.
    [javac] /usr/local/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/work/Standalone/localhost/_/oradev/pts/login_jsp.java:7: cannot resolve symbol
    [javac] symbol : class DBAccess
    [javac] location: package pts
    [javac] import oradev.pts.DBAccess;
    I'm not sure what this means or how to fix it. I'm sure it's something simple like modifying my classpath or something, but, as I said, I don't know where to begin.
    Any assistance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Can't you just use the 10g client ?
    I have not tested the 9i dev. with oci calls but I would not be surprised if you try this on tiger. That won't work AFAIK.
    regards,
    Ronald.

  • Are the ODT tools really included in ODAC 11.2 Release 3 (11.2.0.2.1)

    I have installed ODAC 11.2 Release 3 and Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio (11.2.0.2.1) using the download at http://download.oracle.com/auth/otn/other/ole-oo4o/ODTwithODAC112021.zip onto a PC running VS2010 running Windows XP Professional SP3.
    This has successfully installed the Oracle data providers and "ODAC Documentation for Visual Studio 2010" (which I can access and use successfully from within VS2010) but there is no sign of any of the ODT tools !
    I have tried digging into the install files and can find no evidence of the ODT install.
    Can anyone confirm (or not) that ODT is part of this install please ?

    Thanks for the updates - yes, I forgot to say that I am running VS2010 Premium, sorry.
    I don't get ODP.NET in Server Explorer, I only get the standard Microsoft providers (including Microsoft's Oracle provider).

    Should I see ODT in there as a part of the inventory ?
    Could anyone point me at something in the VS configuration files that should reference ODT so that I can definitively say whether the tools have been installed and properly integrated.
    Thanks again.

  • Bug in include-xsql

    If I use include-xsql to include an xml-fragment stored in a clob from the db and in the included xsql I use a stylesheet with disable-output-escaping so that I can treat the clob contents as real xml when included and the clob inlcudes non-8859 characters (in this specific case UTF8 chinese characters) the characters are all turned into "?".
    If you view the included xsql directly then there is no problem and the characters are correctly displayed.
    I think the problem occurs in the stylesheet processing.
    Basically take Steve's "DOCUMENT" example and input chinese characters into the clob and it will show the same problem.
    Anyone else seen the problem, have a work around or know when it will be fixed.

  • Publicly accessable list of bugs/known issue for the 2.1 release?

    Does one exist? If so, where can I find it?

    If you have an Oracle Support contract you are able to review any bug that has been published. We publish bugs that customer request be published. We are not trying to hide bugs from the user base, it is in your interest that every bug is not published, as this would then include trivial bugs you are not interested in. For example, we log bugs for typos, each new icon raised and updated, and for requested updates to menu titles, for the order of the tabs in the display editors and so on. If you have a bug you're interested in, you can contact Support, request the bug be published, if it's not already published and then keep track of its progress.
    There have been requests that we publish bugs mentioned on the forum, and we do this where we can. Bugs are by default not published. If the product is in a beta cycle for example, then the bug is logged for that beta cycle and is not publishable. We can publish bugs that are logged against production software. This forum is not an alternative to Support or Metalink. Customers pay for the support they get through Oracle Support and the service that is available there.
    Customers with Oracle Database Support contracts have support for SQL Developer.

  • OC4J 2.0.0 is included in the JDev 9i Release Candidate (Available Now)

    http://www.oracle.com/start/jdevelopereap/intro.html?
    src=855007&Act=4
    I pretty sure it's 2.0.0 as it says so in the JDev 9i read me
    and JAZN (Oracle's JAAS implementation) is in there and it's
    supposed to be in 2.0.0. Plus the j2EE_home directory structure
    is different from 1.0.2.2.
    Can't find the updated documentation though, damn.

    Updates don't necessarily improve things and the point updates often create as many problems as they solve. The combination of 10.4.2 and QT 7.0 has been rock solid and problem free for me.
    I only update under controlled circumstances because I value system stability very highly. I have worked with and supported thousands of systems over the years and I can guarantee that the wanton application of updates is the #1 cause of problems.
    The software crash I mentioned happened while iDVD5 was reconnecting media in a project that had been moved to a different hard drive. It corrupted something in QuickTime as well as the disk catalog on one of my backup drives. I don't believe it's a repairable problem and decided to reinstall the system. For me, that opened the question of whether or not to reinstall my existing disk image or build a new one from scratch.
    OSX 10.4.9 has created major headaches for users of Final Cut Express and the QuickTime forum is full of problems associated with 7.1.5 & 7.1.6.
    I am looking for recommendations on specific releases of QT (in this forum) and OSX that users have found to be especially solid.

  • Free Pre-Order Singles not included on the Album once released

    Hi there,
    I've had the following issue on a few albums I've purchased after already having the single. Most recently is P!nk's new album 'The Truth About Love' offered a free single of 'Blow Me (Once Last Kiss)' if you pre-ordered it. When the full album was released it skips giving the single and show's it like it's not even part of the album. This is easily fixable in iTunes however I use Match and the Cloud for my music on my devices and it still shows like it's only a single and not part of the album essencially discluding it from a continuous playback of the album the way the artist intended. I believe this is in the system as a way not to aquire duplicates but I would prefer it the other way round since having a duplicate is better than having an 'incomplete' album according to my phone and other devices even though I have the song in it's single format.
    Apple please fix. In the mean time is there a way to fix this in the Cloud/Match? Thank you.
    Justin

    Hi, andersonl40.
    I had the exact same issue this week for a Pre-order album as well.  I would recommend canceling the Pre-order and download it again as you mentioned it has not been charged.  This article will walk you though the process.

  • Why are previous patches not included in major releases ?

    I will be attempting to raise a TAR for this but I think it is sufficiently serious to also raise in public.
    In forms 10.1.0.2 I am encountering a serious intermittent problem which EXACTLY matches the symptoms of Bug 3018714.
    Alledgedly it is fixed by 6i patchset 17
    ... and by 9.0.2.3 patch 3882050
    ... and by 9.0.4 patchset 1
    And now the bug has reappeared in the next major release.
    Why keep producing major releases which bring back previous bugs ?
    Doing it once is bad enough, but how can 3 times be acceptable ?
    Also the bug has not been revised for nearly a year and there is no mention of the latest release.
    Would be nice to hear from Grant on this one.

    Are you saying the Sun JRE and Jinit are now the same ? Or are you saying we should no longer use Jinitiator. Do sun have a JRE which is preferable to the jinit which comes with 10gr2 ?
    kndwds
    We started web deployment on 6i then went to 10g then 10gR2 and saw the problem in each of those versions.
    As for progress on the TAR. Guess what. They want a test case based on the scott/tiger schema. What a surprise ! Not very helpful for a problem which appears seemingly at random and cannot be reproduced at will. Don't they realise that real applications are far more complicated than anything mr Scott ever dreamed of.
