BUG: Unable to add tag library to component palette on linux (Ubuntu)

As already discussed in the thread problem with adding Sun JSF RI v1.2 as a new library in JDeveloper 10.1.3.1 i have problems adding the Apache Trinidad (faces) tag library to the component palette. Actually the adding is not the problem and initially after adding it, it works. But when closing JDeveloper and restarting the components have disappeared while they are still selected in the Edit Tag Libraries menu. This problem only occurs on Linux and not under windows.
Kind Regards,
Andre Jochems

Thanks for reporting this issue

    1. Tools->Manage Libraries->JSP Tag Libraries->New

    3. Select these Jars
    4. Tools->Conmfigure Palette->New
    5. Entered page name
    6.! But in Page type field i see only these items:
    - css
    - java
    - odx_usc

  • Add custom JPanel to component palette

    Hi all,
    i created a new JPanel,that extends JPanel class, called MyPanel. Is there a way for me to add this to the component palette?
    I tried adding it to code snippets but that didn't work for me.
    Christoph

    Christoph,
    1. right mouse click onto the component panel
    2. Choose "Palette Properties"
    3. Click "Add" to create a new page
    4. Give it a name of your choice e.g. "My ToolBox"
    5. Type should be Java
    6. Click add on the Components area for "My ToolBox" to search for the component to display

    Do not put the Assembly in the %\Pipeline Components folder.  Pipeline Component Assemblies should be in the GAC only.

  • Tag Library for Declarative Component

    Hi
    Using JDev 11gR1. I'm new to tag libraries and have the following question...
    How do I deploy a JAR file with a declaritive component as a JSP tag Library? I have created a new project, created a new tag library in the project (.tld file) and created a reusable toolbar in the project. How do I include the tags and attributes of the declarative component in the .tld file? Do I just edit the file or have I missed some steps which would have done this.
    When creating the new declarative component I did us the "Add Tag Library..." button to specify the tag library in the project.
    All declaritive component examples / tutorials / blogs / ADF dev guide, I find just tell you to deploy the jar file as a tag library and include it in the project to use it, but I can't find anything telling you how to deploy it as a tag library. Any help or references to examples will be great.
    Thanks
    Mario

    Shay, thanks for the reply.
    I started off following Grant's article which you referred me to, but ran into the problem I'm having now. Just tried it again and still no luck.
    I created a declarative component in a new project, setup the deployment profile to deploy to an ADF Library JAR and deployed it. Then I add the directory for the JAR to my Resource palette and add the JAR to the project which will be using it.
    But that's as far as I get, still nothing shows in my Component Palette.
    That's when I started on the wild goose chase of the TLD file. I looked at Andrejus' blog posting, [http://andrejusb.blogspot.com/2009/10/custom-declarative-components-in-adf.html| [http://andrejusb.blogspot.com/2009/10/custom-declarative-components-in-adf.html|http://andrejusb.blogspot.com/2009/10/custom-declarative-components-in-adf.html]] and the source and realised he has a tld file inside his generated JAR. Which lead to my question as to when this get's generated / defined?
    Any ideas what I could try to get my Components to display in the Component Palette?
    Thanks,
    Mario

  • HT1349 Unable to drop ringtone into library. Also unable to add ringtone folder.

    Ringtone was downloaded from phone. itunes displays, I dropped onto desktop, unable to add to library. Ringtones folder not in library or in preferences.

    I don't know if this helps but my iTunes was crashing everytime I tried to add a file located in the "My videos" folder. I moved the files to "My Music" Folder and had no problems. Seems like a simple/stupid solution but it worked for me. I still don't know why it wasn't allowing me to do it in the first place.

  • Bug: OEPE 12c Apache Trinidad Component Palette

    The OEPE 12c Apache Trinidad component palette does not list all the components.
    1. Create a Dynamic Web Project.
    2. Add the Trinidad 1.2 Project Facet.
    3. Add the taglib declaration for trinidad to index.jsp.
    <%@ taglib uri="http://myfaces.apache.org/trinidad" prefix="tr"%>
    4. Within the f:view tag select the component palette for http://myfaces.apache.org/trinidad.
    5. Only the "table" and "column" components get listed.

    Hi,
    I just test it and I get all the components listed. If you go Help -> About -> Click on the OEPE Icon can you tell me the full version that appears on Oracle Web Tier Tools?

    So please anybody help me......

    Thanks for the response but one more thing right now I can't add message tag for each component so that I can add message from the baking bean as per ur solution I tried like this
    FacesMessage msg = new FacesMessage("Testing is going");
    msg.setSeverity(FacesMessage.SEVERITY_ERROR);
    FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addMessage(tf_ADD1.getId(), msg);
    it is working but it is showing on the top of the for even no problem but I need to change the component color based on the message but I am not able to achieve that so how can I do that from backing bean now I can't add tags for each component.

  • How to add packed library on palette set

    Hi,
    I am unable to add packed library to pallete set. Can someone provide information on how to do that?
    Thanks,
    Andrej
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Andrej,
    starting with LV 2010, you can use packed libraries to encapsulate functions and supply them on the palettes. The way to get there is somehow a little tricky, so here a short description on how to do that:
    1. Build your LV library (lvlib) as used, please remember to set prudent item settings (private vs. public). Public items will be "exported" in the packed library whereas private are not.
    2. Open the palette edit tool via Tools >> Advanced >> Edit Palette Set
    3. Go to the subpalette you want to include your custom palette (exported items) and right click on the parent palette. Select Insert >> Subpalette.
    4. In the dialog, select Create a new palette file (.mnu). Select a path contained in your lvlib.
    5. Customize your subpalette as desired. Please place only public items on the palette.
    6. Save the changes and add the new .mnu file to your lvlib.
    7. Build the packed library. Make sure, that the .mnu file is part of the lvlibp (by default it is already selected).
    8. Copy the lvlibp to the target system.
    9. Select Tools >> Advanced >> Edit Palette Set in the target. Browse to the palette you want to have as parent for your lvlibp.
    10. Right click and select Insert >> Subpalette. On the dialog, select Link to a palette file in a project library. Select your lvlibp file and acknowledge the following dialog.
    11. Save changes and use your lvlibp on the target.
    That should be a comprehensive step-by-step list for this request.
    Hope this helps,
    Norbert

  • No way to add code snippets to the palette in 11g

    Hello,
    According to the Help Center, I should be able to add "codes snippets" to my palette, like I used in 10g...
    Adding a Code Snippet to the Palette
    You can add pages to the Component Palette to group your snippets, or you can add snippets to the existing Code Snippets page. Once you add snippets to the Palette, you can insert this code into any file you have open in the source editor by selecting the snippet from the Palette
    within the Configure Component Palette dialog. In the Configure Component Palette dialog, for Page Type select snippet to view only those pages containing snippets.
    Well , in the Page Type drop list , I only see "java" and "use case" ?
    I am running J2EE Edition Version 11.1.1.0.1 Build JDEVADF_MAIN.BOXER_GENERIC_081203.1854.5188
    Any thoughts ?
    Cheers

    If all you want is code snippet why not use the code template feature?
    It is more dynamic and will allow you to use variables that you can switch - then you can just use the keyboard to get the value.

  • Component Palette

    Does JDeveloper 10g have the provision to register
    custom schemas for the Component Palette?
    For example,
    1. Create a Component Palette page of type XML with
    Tools>Configure Palette.
    2. Add Components to the Component Palette from a
    custom schema.

    Deepak,
    Are you hoping to add pages to the Component Palette to aid in the editing of a custom XML language using the JDeveloper XML Editor? If so, and you have an XML Schema, all you should have to do is register it with JDeveloper via Tools .. Preferences .. XML Schemas, using "xml" as the extension. Then when you open a document that uses your schema, you should automatically have a component palette, plus get code insight, support in the Property Inspector, insertion menus (right-click in the Structure Pane), etc.

  • Extension which will provide Custom Soa components from component palette.

    I was asked to created an extension which will aid in helping the development faster and enable following standards strictly.
    So I have to create an extension which will add the following functionality.
    I have to add custom components in component palette which can be dragged dropped in composite editor similar to that of JMS Adapter extra.
    So Can you please look into the requirement and give me some pointers.
    Update: I was able to add a custom component to the component palette with the help cppageprovider example. But the component does nothing.
    I want to know how the drag and dropping is done.
    How to extend BPEL designer to add my own activities palette icon/item? I am stuck at exactly the same point as his.
    I know it is difficult to get an answer during christmas! But I have deadline. :(

    Hi,
    while it is JDeveloper owning the extension framework, unfortunately we do not own the composite editor. I'll try and forward your question Oracle internally, but I have no direct access to the developer of the SOA editor extension. I deally you also continue posting to the SOA forum

  • Unable to add Custom JSP 1.2 Tag Library to Project

    I am trying to upgrade to a newer version of JDeveloper (10.1.3.0.4) but am having a problem with projects that use custom JSP tag libraries.
    After converting the project (.jpr) files to the new version, I double click and go to "JSP Tag Libraries." When I click on "Add" to add a new JSP Tag library, only JSP version 1.1 libraries are shown, I cannot choose any JSP 1.2 tag libraries.
    my TLD files are all JSP 1.2, so I am not quite sure why this isn't working in a newer JDeveloper after it has worked fine in the past. If I examine any JSP page that uses my taglibs, I see the following 2 kinds of error:
    the line:
    <%@ taglib uri="taglib.uri" prefix="mytag" %>
    is underlined in red and says "the tag library taglib.uri is referenced, but not installed"
    And for any lines that try to use the custom tag:
    <mytag:dosomething>
    there is a yellow/orange underline that says "no grammar available for namespace taglib.uri, contents of element dosomething cannot be validated"
    Note that I can add the taglib JAR file under Tools > Manage Libraries, but I cannot add the JSP tag library to my project. Is there some sort of compatibility issue when transferring project files from an old version of JDeveloper?
    Any help would be appreciated

    Yes any new project I create I can specify JSP 1.2 or 2.0 with the wizard and it works fine.
    But I don't want to re-create my entire project file again just to register my taglibs.
    Here's the JSP related section in web.xml:
    <!-- TagLibraries -->
    <taglib>
    <taglib-uri>taglib.uri</taglib-uri>
    <taglib-location>/WEB-INF/tlds/mytag.tld</taglib-location>
    </taglib>
    It's definately something in the project itself... but I am lost as to what it is.
    Edit: nvm I fixed it. It was the web.xml. I had to change the line:
    <!DOCTYPE web-app PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.2//EN" "http://java.sun.com/j2ee/dtds/web-app_2_2.dtd">
    into
    <!DOCTYPE web-app PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.3//EN" "http://java.sun.com/dtd/web-app_2_3.dtd">
    and it worked. Thanks.
