Build / deploy process without jDeveloper

I want to be able to build my process jar in a computer which does not have jDeveloper installed.
Can I do this using the build.xml in my process folder? Attempting gives:
D:\projects\foo\svn\bpel\FooProcess>ant build
Buildfile: build.xml
BUILD FAILED
D:\projects\foo\svn\bpel\FooProcess\build.xml:27: Cannot find ${oracle.home}/integration/bpel/utilities/ant-orabpel.xml imported from D:\projects\foo\svn\bpel\FooProcess\build.xml
Total time: 0 seconds
I am going to attempt setting oracle.home env value, but does anyone have knowledge that this can be made to work?

Basically my problem still exists since in order to be able to do the ant build, I need to use a machine which has jdeveloper installed (since the ant scripts use taskdefinitions etc. from the jdeveloper installation).
My process calls other processes using http://localhost:8888/orabpel/default/FooProcess/FooProcess?wsdl -type of urls (since all the processes recide on the same SOA Suite).
Now these processes should be deployed on servers test, qa, production.
When I do the build using jdeveloper, or using the ant script, bpelc validates the services from http://localhost:8888/orabpel/default/FooProcess/FooProcess?wsdl
I can
1. Do the deployment from some desktop computer - but then I would need to have SOA Suite and the processes installed on that same computer in order for the validation to pass - this is not acceptable. Or, can I tell jdeveloper or build.xml to "skip validating wsdls when compiling bpel_XyzProcess10.jar"?
2. Do the deployment from test, qa, production. I would need to install jdeveloper on each of this machines - not acceptable.
3. Make it so that when doing build for qa, wsdl for qa would be http://qa-server:8888/... and when doing build for production, wsdl would be http://production:888/... This I'm not sure how I could achieve. Maybe somehow using build.properties?

    I always have to do the same actions in the same order:
    build ejb project(s), build ear, deploy ear
    Is there any way to make one action of it. A batch file, or an Ant build or something like that.
    All examples are welcome!

  • Cannot deploy BPEL Process from Jdeveloper

    Hello,
    I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3.2 on my laptop.
    I have Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3 deployed and running on my laptop as well (port 8888) (running MS Vista).
    Some background:
    I can access my app server at http://127.0.0.1:8888, http://localhost:8888, http://toral-pc:8888 using browser with no problems at all.
    However, when I try to deploy a business process (using ant on build.xml) from JDeveloper I get the following error:
    BUILD FAILED
    C:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\j2ee\home\SalesforceIntegration\LoginToSalesforce\build.xml:79: A problem occurred while establishing a connection to the BPEL Server.
    Please make sure the server is running on host "127.0.0.1", port "8888".
    I have turned off any firewalls and also my hosts file includes a line for 127.0.0.1 localhost.
    I am at a loss as to why JDeveloper thinks the BPEL server is not running on 127.0.0.1:8888 when I know it is and I can using the BPEL Server GUI to deploy the Business Process jar just fine.
    Please Help.
    Thank you Much !

    It says you're missing the oracle.lite.poljdbc.POLJDBCDriver class which belongs to the Oracle Lite database.
    For some reason it is configured in your data-sources.xml, either in config/data-sources.xml or in applications/<your_app_name>/META-INF/data-sources.xml or in your JDev Connections.
    Find this configuration and determine whether you need it. If not, remove it.

  • Deploy package with Java Stored Procedure without JDeveloper

    I have a set of Java Stored Procedures deployed as a package on a Oracle 8i server. Everything works fine in my development environment, and now I would like to deploy the same package in the customers runtime environment. Both environments are running Oracle 8i rel 2 on NT.
    Is there a simple way to use the JDeveloper .prf deployment profile without installing JDeveloper in the customers environment?
    If not, can I the get the .jar files and .sql scripts from JDeveloper to create the call specs and package bodys?
    I guess JDeveloper must have this information, and my idea was then to write a script using loadjava and SQL*Plus.
    Regards,
    Tom Bjerre

    you would not be able to take just the deployment profile and run it outside JDeveloper.
    You would be able to create archive of all java classes in the package using Deployment Wizard in JDeveloper.
    Then you can load the jar file using the utilities in 8i.
    JDeveloper does generate the SQL for CALL specs etc ., at the deployment time and it is printed in MEssage Viewer along with other information.
    Hope that info is useful for you

  • Can deploy process but not workflow (10.1.3.10 beta)

    I tried to deploy several of the demo BPEL processes, but each time the process is deployed successfully, but the workflow is not. Fro example OrderApproval.
    I tried setting properties in the build.properties file, but apparently to no avail. Also changing them via the project ant properties did not help.
    It looks like the payload JSP did not get deployed -- most of the process works, including the workflow bit, as long as one does not try to look into the worklist entry contents (which gives the 404 Not Found error, same as in the 10.1.2 version when the JSP page is not in the proper directory of hw/worklistexpress).
    I noticed some strange behavior in the build properties as stored in the project file (OrderApproval.jpr). There are a lot of equivalent ("fromjdev") entries in the oracle.jdeveloper.ant.AntRunConfiguration hash table. Also, each time after I run a deploy, the value for oc4jinstancename is removed and a corresponding <null/> entry shows up in the file. I tried cleaning up redundant fromjdev entries, but it did not help.
    Also hard coding the oc4jinstancename attribute to soademo did not help.
    Any suggestions on how to fix the build? See below for a log; I added printing of the deploy attributes to the build.xml file.

    When I change the rmi ports to 23793 via the project properties and save, they get updated correctly in the .jpr file. However, the deploy still fails, because somehow JDeveloper resets the values back to 23791 (just as it routinely wipes out the oc4jinstancename) and writes them to the .jpr file.
    How can I make the new value 'stick'?
    I tried changing the port of the LocalBPELApplicationServer from 23791 to 23793 but got:
    Error while getting remote MBeanServer for url: ormi://localhost:23793/default:
    Error reading application-client descriptor: Error communicating with server: Connection refused: connect; nested exception is:
         javax.naming.CommunicationException: Connection refused: connect [Root exception is java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect]
    When I click on the [+] next to the connection I get this:
    oracle.oc4j.admin.jmx.shared.exceptions.JMXRuntimeException: Error while getting remote MBeanServer for url: ormi://localhost:23793/default
         at oracle.oc4j.admin.jmx.client.CoreRemoteMBeanServer.fetchMBeanServerEjbRemote(CoreRemoteMBeanServer.java:499)

    <snip>
    And even then, the deploy process still forces the port to 23791.
    I restarted the server and JDeveloper, but the problem persists.

  • Automate the EAR creation and deployment process

    Hi,
    I am trying to automate the EAR creation and deployment process. I am following this approach - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/articles/adf/part4-098813.html
    In this approach we use pure ANT without OJDeploy. I am able to Create the EAR file but while deploying to weblogic server manually I get the attached error.
    Error is - java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: javax.faces.webapp.FacesServlet
    I would like to know, Is this the best practise to automate the EAR Creation and Deployment Process? If not, Please provide me some other best approach.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards
    Balaji S

    Balaji,
    I am the author of that article.
    At the time I wrote the article, ojdeploy was not working properly - however, the bugs that I noted at the time have been fixed. If I were writing the article today, my strong recommendation would be to use ojdeploy.
    If you insist to use the pure ANT (no ojdeploy) approach, I'd debug your issue this way:
    1). Generate the EAR file using the deploy option from the application navigator in JDeveloper. Deploy that EAR file to your WLS server and test to ensure it works. A note that if you are creating an ADF app, you must deploy the JRF to WLS first.
    2). Once the EAR from JDev is working, use a tool such as WinZip to expand the JDeveloper-generated EAR file and your ANT-generated EAR file. Compare the two. If you find differences, fix the ANT scripts so that they are the same.

  • Cannot open files from Application Navigator without JDeveloper freezing

    Completely bewildered by this... please help.
    Been using JDeveloper 11.1.1.0.1 Build JDEVADF_MAIN.BOXER_GENERIC_081203.1854.5188 (pointing to Java 1.6.0.16) for a few months now. Every week or so I take a copy of my project (just take the whole project directory out of the JDeveloper/mywork directory) on my workstation and place on another identically configured workstation. This week, when I tried to do that and open JDeveloper on that 2nd workstation, JDeveloper froze. After reboots and retries, as far as I can get is to be able to open JDeveloper, single click on files in the Application Navigator (their properties show up in the Structure window), but if I try to open any of the source files (either by double clicking on them or right click -> open), JDeveloper freezes.
    What's weird is that I tried uninstalling Java and Jdeveloper on that 2nd workstation and reinstalling a fresh Java and Jdeveloper instance - with none of my code or projects -- just a clean off the oracle.com version of JDeveloper -- and I still had the same problem. I created a brand new application, project, and new class and I still cant click on the Class1.java to edit or view it without JDeveloper freezing.

    Arun,
    Thank you for the response.
    Many apologies - please ignore the exception I posted. The C:\Program Files\JDeveloper\modules was missing because on the last time I re-installed JDeveloper I forgot to copy that directory.
    Nonetheless, I reinstalled JDeveloper (again - this time correctly!) and I am still having the same symptoms (but no exception). I run jdev.exe from the command prompt, JDeveloper opens, I can create a new application, project, and class/.java file, but I cannot double click on the .java file to view or edit it. JDeveloper freezes and there is no exception in the command window.
    I tried running Process Monitor when I double click on the .java file to see if there are any obvious errors. (See the log below.) However, I'm not sure if these are "normal"/expected errors or not.
    I don't know what else to do at this point. Any other suggestions you can give are welcome.
    Thanks.
    (PS - I tried Puthanampatti's suggestion of modifying the ide.conf and jdev.conf, but received an error, "Unable to create an instance of the Java Virtual Machine. Located at path: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_16\jre\bin\client\jvm.dll", so I just restored the original ide.conf and jdev.confs to get rid of that error.)

  • Unable to deploy BPEL from JDeveloper 10g in Vista

    Dear Experts,
    When deploying bpel process from JDeveloper I am getting the following errors.
    Note: I am using Vista. Both Application server & JDeveloper versions are
    synchronized . My versions are Oracle Application Server SOA suite 10.1.3.1 &
    JDeveloper 10.1.3.1. Both are deployed in Vista. Is there any special configuration
    set up is neccessary with vista. Please suggest me.
    Note: Also from my jdeveloper I can able to establish connection for both integration server & application server
    successfully. But unable to deploy.
    BUILD FAILED
    A problem occurred while establishing a connection to the BPEL Server.
    Please make sure the server is running on host "eway-pc", port "8888".
    Thanks,
    Rajesh

    Can you post the full error statck, this error is very generic and can be misleading.
    Are you able to deploy other processes.
    There are some know issue with Vista, have a look at this metalink note. 444112.1

  • Invoking existing instance from a process without correlation

    Hi,
    I want to find out if I can do this.
    Suppose that instance A was created by others. Instance B of different process wants to invoke instance A. But they do not have a correlation.
    This is a part of problem that we want to solve to fix issues in deployed process. Instance A is waiting for user response and we have been invoking this instance A from Java code.
    But we want to have a intermediate bpel process B to call instance A. Java code is going to call process B. Because process A is deployed without correlation and active in production, we cannot use correlation to find instance.
    I may be able to use programmatic approach using InstanceHandle. But I want to find a way to invoke this in bpel.
    Can you give me some hint?
    Thanks,
    Imju

    If my method is now defined as so;
    public <T extends GenericDaoImpl> T getDao( Class<T> daoClazz )
    return daoClazz.newInstance();
    The IDE flags up an error "This method must return a result of type T"
    So I think I'm missing something. I have defined an abstract generic DAO helper class to be extended by child DAOs;
    public abstract class GenericDaoImpl<T, PK extends Serializable>
    CRUD methods
    findBy(...) methods
    where T is the class type & PK the primary key.
    So presumably my getDao(...) method should be defined as;
    public <T extends GenericDaoImpl<T, PK>> T getDao( Class<T> daoClazz )
    return daoClazz.newInstance();
    But it then cannot resolve PK to a type. I think I'm either trying to impose a type on the signature when
    it should (obviously?) be generic, or presuming that it will evaluate my generic type which I have somehow
    not exposed to the method / signature.
    Am I missing something subtle or just being stupid.

    I think all processes starts OK, I get one for .kas and one for kas, one for .kxs and one for kxs and finally one for .kjs and one for kjs.
    Is someone familiar with this/these problem(s)?

    It seems you are deploying a very big application. Try to deploy this application with following command
    j2eeappreg <filename>
    It should work fine. It was a bug with iasdeploy command in iAS SP3 which had been fixed in iAS SP4.

  • Need to start process without SAP_BPM_SuperAdmin

    We would like to give a class of users the ability to launch BPM processes without giving them SAP_BPM_SuperAdmin.
    The problem with doing that, is that they could access NWA and change the process repository, if they found there way there.
    Is there a way to just assign the role temporarily to the application?
    Any thoughts?

    Hi Jim,
    Try this:
    Create a wsdl in your bpm dc and assign it as an interface to the 'Start' of your bpm process. Build and depoy the bpm dc. Now create a small webdynpro dc with a button say Start Process and call the web-service which you have assigned to the Start of the process. Assign this wd dc to a page/role and assign it to the reqd users.
    Hope it helps.
    Regards

  • How to run a BPEL process in jdeveloper tool instead of BPEL process manage

    is there a way to run the bPEL process in jdeveloper itself ?

    Not really, Oracle introduced test seuite in 10.1.3.3 which allows you to test without calling the endpoints. Probably not really what you are after but may be helpful down the track.
