Building hierarchy from several diffrent infoObjects

Hello,
I have a cube with several infoObjects all of them are reference of 0customer. The first infoObject is country manager, the second is area managers and the third is agents. I need to build a hierarchy from these infoObjects (country manager>area managers>agents) The infoSource is designed to bring each one of them in a different cell of the extract structure (each one of them is a different infoObject). I have the complete hierarchy (with all the "managers") in 0customer.
How can I build a hierarchy from them? I dont want to use the "display as hierarchy" functionality.

just solved it
I put the 0customer as external Chars. in hierarchies of itself.
If i want to show the hierarchy: country manager>area managers>agents i should put the agent in the rows/columns and use the workers hierarchy which contains the country manager and area manager which are above the agent.

    I think I addressed all your questions in my original post, but since it ran a bit long, I'll recap....
1. I'll attach screenshots of my report options tab for the first report. The second is the same, with the only change being that it's configured for xml reports.
   The temp files were deleted correctly prior to configuring for multiple reports.
2. If the first report is xml and the second is html, both are readable. If the second is xml, the xml report is not readable by a browser, whether the first is html or xml. If the first is also xml, it is apparently over-written by the second xml, which is bad.
3. I'm using a modified version of the instructions from this link to
generate multiple reports.

I modified the instructions to work with TestStand 4.1.1. I also
modified it so I would not be changing the default sequence model. I'll attach the modified sequence model.

How to load hierarchy from file into InfoObject with compounding Attr & LN

Hi,
I have created an InfoObject called YCOSTC0 which has a compounding attribute 0CO_AREA. and Text is Lanugage dependent, hence the key is YCOSTC0, 0CO_AREA and LANGUAGE, now when i load hierarchy from flat file as mentioned below, it creates duplicate blank rows in master data table, becuase the flat file contains only the YCOSTC0 Info Object and this data gets loaded into 0CO_AREA column in master data table which is the first column. how can i load hierarchies from flat file into an InfoObject that has a compounding attribute and Language dependent. please provide me a sample file structure with data.

Build an R/3 Hierarchy from a Table

Hi all,
Any one has an idea of how I can build an R/3 Hierarchy from an exisiting Table ?
The table gives the relationship between two diffferent objects A & B. For each value for A there are a number of values for B, as defined & maintained in the table. How can I get this into an R/3 hierarchy - to enable me move it into SAP BW ?

As you would for any other infoobject
Activate the business content hierarchy datasources on R3 for cost centre and profit centre
Go into BW - replicate the metadata
Then just connect via transformations or transfer rules the datasources to yoru infosources or master data objects
Create an infopackage per hierarchy!!!!! - press the button available hirachies from OLTP - click the one you want on the left - fire it off
Then repeat new infopackages for all hierachies

Issue in uploading Hierarchy from BW to SEM BCS

Hi All,
We are getting the following error while trying to upload the hierarchy from BW to SEM BCS.FYI , Hierarchy is loaded into BW but it still throws an error.
Error is : No hierarchies for InfoObject 0PROFIT_CTR available in BW.
Can somebody help me out ...

I am loading from BW (0PROFIT_CTR) hierarchy to SEM BCS.
I am loading thru "Load from data stream".
Following are the steps :
1.Selected data type "Consolidation unit"
2.Selected characteristic "Profit Center"
3.In the settings tab,
a) I also maintained "source data basis" with the Infoobject cataloag & I used the same.
b) selected "0profit_ctr" infoobject.
c)also selected the check boxes "load master data" & "load hierarchy".
4)In the mapping tab, selected all the necessary fields and mapped correctly.
5)In the selection tab,maintained controlling area = 1000 .
6)after the steps 1to 5, executed the method.
It gives an error "No hierarchy exists in BW for profit center ".
Can you tell me, do we need to do any other steps before executing the method.

How to Create Hierarchy From Flat file Structure

Hi Gurus,
There is a scenario for me regarding the Hierarchy.
Required Hierarchy structure - Region>Director>Manager-->Sales id
I have flat file which gives the info like user id , sales id , manager id, director id.
But the transaction data Flat file has structure with sales id, region id, sales amt, sales qty.
Note : Region id is another Master Data.
How i can create hierarchy from the first flat file which doesnot have region info in that but it is available in the transaction data Flat file.
Is there anyway we can create hierarchy based on the first Flat file structure which contains more that 1,00,000 records.
Try to Suggest me in this regard .

                Defining the source system from which to load data
Choose the source system tree File ® Create.
       2.      Defining the InfoSource for which you want to load data
Optional: choose InfoSource Tree ® Root (InfoSources) ® Create Application Components.
Choose InfoSource Tree ® Your Application Component ® Other Functions ® Create InfoSource 3.x ® Direct Update.
Choose an InfoObject from the proposal list, and specify a name and a description.
       3.      Assigning the source system to the InfoSource
Choose InfoSource Tree ® Your Application Component ® Your InfoSource ® Assign Source System. The transfer structure maintenance screen appears.
The system automatically generates DataSources for the three different data types to which you can load data.
○       Attributes
○       Texts
○       Hierarchies (if the InfoObject has access to hierarchies)
The system automatically generates the transfer structure, the transfer rules, and the communication structure (for attributes and texts).
       4.      Maintaining the transfer structure / transfer rules
Select the DataSource for uploading hierarchies.
IDoc transfer method: The system automatically generates a proposal for the DataSource and the transfer structure. This consists of an entry for the InfoObject for which hierarchies are loaded. With this transfer method, the structure is converted to the structure of the PSA during loading, which affects performance.
PSA transfer method: The transfer methods and the communication structure are also generated here.
       5.      Maintaining the hierarchy
Choose Hierarchy Maintenance, and specify a technical name and a description of the hierarchy

BPC 7.5 NW: Import master data and Hierarchy from BI

There is a HTG about Import master data and Hierarchy from SAP NT BW, the BPC cost center master data's property have corresponding attribute InfoObject 0COSTCENTER of BW.
what about for those properties which do not have corresponding attribute in BW? I would asume that START_ROUTINE and END_ROUTINE will do this in BPC side, can we also do this on BW side instead of BPC side?

Master Data modeling with data from several source clients

Hi people,
We have a modeling issue at hand..
From several R/3 sources, separated as Clients (eg. client 100, 101, 102 etc.) we will load data (transactional and Master Data) to one BW system.
Now, I am wondering what is the best way to avoid Master Data issues here, when data can be different for the same objects in the various source systems (clients)
Example:
In source client 100, 0MATERIAL 1000 = PLASTIC
In source client 101, 0MATERIAL 1000 = WOOD
I have tried to understand how compounding with 0SOURCESYSTEM works, but I can't see how that will work for us, since we may have several clients on the same sourcesystem (e.g. client 100 and 101 can be on the same system). This would not help me separate the masterdata.
- Does anyone have experience with this they could share?
- Is it a possibility to add 0LOGSYS or something to our InfoObjects that we will load?
- Do we then add the InfoObject to the cube in the end?
Any inputs that can clarify this is appreciated. Points awarded ofcourse!

Hi,
Donot go with one server to define it as a source system .I mean ,Even though you have only one R/3 server . you have 3 clients in it. So go with Clients to define the source systems.
So in BIW You must have 3 different source systems in Source system tree. Am I irght?
So all of them has different logical system names.
So use 0LOGSYS as compounding characterstic.

Product Hierarchy from R/3 to BW

I have a problem with product hierarchy in BW. First, i extract master data for material (0Material, infoobject), but attribute 0PROD_HIER was not update, all records has this value in blank. After that, i extracted hierarchy from R/3, with datasource 0MATERIAL_LPRH_HIER, and hierarchy was activated in BW without problems. Now my problem is how to insert the material en hiearchy, as i have it in R/3, i think that it should be when i extract the hierarchy, but it not happened. So how can i insert the whole material in their node as they are in R/3??

Syntax error while loading hierarchy from an external file

Dear Expert:
I am new to BW and I met a problem today while loading hierarchy from an external file. Actually I am following below article to load the hierarchy:

When I schedule the infopackage, the error message says: "Syntax error in template RSTMPL9C, ROW 76". Actually there is only around 20 lines of records.
Since I am not familiar with hierarchy load, so:
1. while loading from external file, do I need to create one hierarchy in advance through "Maintain Hierarchies" in the infoobject? My understanding is since I can load that hierarchy from file, so I do not need to create one in advance, once the load completed, the hierarchy should automatically generated there. Is my understanding correct?
2. Before loading the hierarchy, do I need to load the master data of external characteristics in the hierarchy first? Here in my example, the sales hierarchy has 2 external characteritics (Country and region) in the hierarchy. Do I need to load some data first?
3. My 'Preview' function in the infopackage is gray so that I can not test the data loading. Why is it gray?
Information like file name, file dir, file type(csv), seperator should be correct there.
Can anybody help me take a look into that? Many thanks for your time in advance!

There are some other SAP Notes that can help you solve the problem. Depending on your Support Package level check which of them is applicable.

I have a problem, I want to make one purchase contract from several purchase requisitions. Here, some of PR's are of same material and some PR belong to different material. What we want that same Material should be clubbed together in one line and diffrenent material code should come in diffrent line.

if you are creating the contract manually and still want to see the PRs used.
then i suggest you to maintain the detauils in the texts which are not used for printing and could be used for information purpose.
one thing that this is manualy created so PR in system will not show the assigned and will remain open.

Hi Madhu,
By default, you cant use a transformation to load data into the Hierarchy Master data.
I havent tried it myself, but for you to explore, I'll suggest the below idea.
Write an ABAP program to download the hierarchy table data from 0material into a flat file.
Create flat file datasource to upload hierarchy to the other infoobject.
Put both of them in a process chain and execute one after another.

Measurement hierarchy from Essbase to BIEE physical layer

According to official documents, the measurement hierarchy from Essbase should be imported as one flat level on Physical layer in OBIEE Administration. However, after importing, I can't see those measurements shown ! What I can see is the "Measure" dimension which has 5 gen of hierarchy~
What I want is to put the measurements (e.g. unit sold / unit sold (east region) / unit sold (west region) / unit count / sales per week .... ) to presentation layer for users. How can I handle this? Is there anything I miss while building the cube in essbase?
Since my essbase has just been upgraded from v.6 to v.11.
Does anyone can help? THANKS A LOT !

Welcome to the wonderful world of OBIEE/Essbase integration!
Your "Measure" dimension basically should be your Account dimension of Type "Accounts". When a dimension has that type, it will automatically become the "fact" in the flattened out representation in the physcial layer.
Funny that you mention this since I anyways wanted to blog a bt more on this since I got quite some questions recently (for all who were there: result of that nice discussion in Brighton), since you may have multiple measure hierarchies and then there's a bit more config to do ;-)
Update:
I just saw your other post and I'm a bit confused now. You state you have the "Measure" table which I assume means you have it in the BMM layer already. As of 10.1.3.3.2. if you import Essbase metadata, you can just drag and drop it from physical to BMM to presentation layer and the models and presentation tables are created automatically. Not much manual intervention needed (initially, but you'll do a lot of modification afterwards).
