  • How to deploy OHW onto Oralce Application Server?

    I down load the demo-bundle.
    It is set in c:\ohw\. I startup the OC4J from c:\ohw\bin. And the help system can be launched from URL http://localhost:8888/.
    Also I modify the Oracle Application (in Jdeveloper 10g1.3.2.0) to make it work with the helpset in demo-bundle.
    I follow the instructions in "Deploying OHW Using the Unconfigured Bundle" to create a ear file which contrains a WAR file (it has helpsets directory, (and files), ohwconfig.xml file, the cabo directory, and the WEB-INF directory.
    Then I caret a zip file which has application.xml file and META-INF file and the WAR file. Then rename it a ear file.
    After all, I intend to deploy the ear file to Oracle Application Server.
    It fails with message:
    Failed in uploading archive. Invalid archive file: Unsupported archive type. unknown
    1. Where is the right location in Oralce Application Server for servlet container ?
    2. What is the right way to deploy a helpset onto Oralce Application Server?
    Thanks

    Same as you would deploy any .NET application. There are two ways to do this:
    1 - Simple copy files to win2003 server and create virtual directory (if you copy to default location just create IIS application using inetmgr)
    2 - create deployment project that will generate setup for you. execute setup on win2003 server and follow the steps.

  • Configuring library path in 10g application server control

    Hello everyone,
    I am using :
    1. HP UX B.11.23 64 bit OS
    2. Application server 10.1.3.1
    3. 64-bit JVM (JRE 1.5.0_03)
    I am facing a problem with the connection pools in 10g EM Application Server Control. Initially the connection pool used JDBC thin client. I was asked to implement OCI client instead(Performance enhancement). So, in the existing connection pool only i changed the URL to jdbc.oracle.oci@FCC where FCC is the SID. After this when i went to test connection it says '$ORACLE_HOME/lib/libocijdbc10.so' is not a valid module. Bad magic number.
    After some searching n analysis i found out that instead of picking up from $ORACLE_HOME/lib it should pick from $ORACLE_HOME/lib32 as the ORACLE version is 32-BIT. But i dont know how to configure the same using ASC. I had set LD_LIBRARY_PATH and SHLIB_PATH in HP-UX box as well but it didnt help.
    Please suggest or let me know if you need any other information.

    Hi,
    Where did you set the parameters LD_LIBRARY_PATH and SHLIB_PATH?

  • Open a pdf file located on Application Server from forms 10g

    Dear all,
    I want to open a pdf file which is stored in a folder on Application Server.
    I have the following codes but could not be able to open the file.
    1. host('rundll32 url.dll,FileProtocolHandler C:\REP012.pdf');
    in this code I mentioned the path on local machine which is okey.
    but the question is that how to open the file which is located in a folder on application server?
    the following code don't show and file or error:
    host('rundll32 url.dll,FileProtocolHandler /EMS/MANUALS/ACC001.PDF');
    This is the file on Application Server not on local machine.
    2. web.show_document('//EMS/MANUALS/ACC001.PDF/','_blank');
    This give HTTP 404 NOT FOUND error
    I think the problem is in path, how to mention the path of my Application Server file?
    Regards:
    Muhammad Nadeem

    Hi,
    Did you find a solution to this?
    We are running into the same problem where we need to open a file present on the application server (path /opt/webapps/applications/ISL/)
    When we try this from the local machine it works (path D:/forms) however it does not work while trying to open it from the application server.

  • Problem with application server shutdown when connecting

    Hi Friends,
    I am new to J2EE applications.
    I developed a web application that uses jxl and mysql for reading excel sheets. The host I am working on is supposed to be the server. The application I am running is working absolutely fine, by creating a directory and saving the excel file in my webapps folder and inserting the data to the database. But the minute I send the file from client system, there is a sudden shutdown in my server.
    I am sending the jsp and java code related to this application and related log file..
    I guess the main problem is with sending the exact path from the remote client, rest all is fine including excel and database interactions.
    I commented the database interaction class just for now as I don't think there is a problem with it.
    I am using Tomcat 4.1, MySQL 3.23

    The VERY FIRST message in the server log gives you a hint as to what the problem might be. The server thinks you have spaces in your PATH to the application server. Therefore, the solution is to kill the server however you need to (task manager, whatever) and then reinstall it in a path that doesn't contain spaces. That's the low-hanging fruit here; if that doesn't work, well, then we will have to find some other solution.

  • Problem with Application server

    Hi All,
    I'm facing problem with Application Server. When I installed the appserver and started it.. It started with the message " server has been started and some services will run at back". But when I tried stopping it using the stop default server i got the message that there is no server running but when i saw in the task manager i cud see two process running 1) appserver.exe and 2) imqbroker(something).exe so eventually I had to kill it.
    Now when I'm trying to start the application server again its giving me this message "CLI156 Could not start the domain domain1" and below is the log file attached if its of any help

The PATH must be consistently formated (e.g. C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0\bin; ) or the Appserver may not be able to start and/or stop.  Mixed quoted spaces in your PATH can cause problems, so the launcher will remove all double quotes before invoking the process. The most reliable solution would be to remove all spaces from your path before starting the Appservers components.  |#]

    Thanks in advance
    Ajay

    The VERY FIRST message in the server log gives you a hint as to what the problem might be. The server thinks you have spaces in your PATH to the application server. Therefore, the solution is to kill the server however you need to (task manager, whatever) and then reinstall it in a path that doesn't contain spaces. That's the low-hanging fruit here; if that doesn't work, well, then we will have to find some other solution.

  • Attach document from application server using BAPI

    Hi,
    I am trying to attach files to Document Info Record using BAPI
    BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHECKIN_REPLACE2. When i execute the z program that calls this BAPI on
    presentation server in foreground by giving path of documents which are locating on local pc it works
    fine and check in the file in document infor record
    But when i run program in background and file path is of application server.It gives error that
    Program no longer started via RFC. No return possible.
    I want to know the cause of this error.
    Please help.

    i think u need to pass Storage category  = FILESYSTEM.
    check the documentation of data element -
    DE CV_STORAGE_CAT
    but i'm not 100% sure abt it.
    regards
    Prabhu

    You need to create a logical file name using FILE transaction. Then create a logical path and assign the physical path (actual path on app. server) to the logical path. While defining the physical filne name you have the option of selecting from the list of 'reserved word' available. For e.g. <DATE>, <TIME> etc.
    Steps are:
    1) Execute transaction 'FILE'.
    2) Create a logical file path.
    3) Assign Syntax Grp (Operating Systems) to above logical file path. You need to create the syntax group to identify the physical path in the application server. This step actually assigns the physical path to the logical path.
    4) Create a logical file.
    5) Assign the physical file name to the logical file. You have lots of system reserved word to choose from to suffix your file name with date and time etc.
    The physical file name is used by the function module FILE_GET_NAME at runtime to compose a complete platform-specific file name.
    For more information, see [renaming a file on the application server;.
    Regards.

    Hi,
    Try to use below function module where you need not to do anything new, just give path of the directory where you want to store on your workstation in the parameter  I_FILE_FRONT_END  and give path of your application server from where you want to pick file which is in .XLS format in the FM parameter I_FILE_APPL  .
    It will simply copy the file from Apllication server to your workstation in the same format and with the same characters.
    CALL FUNCTION 'C13Z_FILE_DOWNLOAD_BINARY'
      EXPORTING
        I_FILE_FRONT_END          = pr_down
        I_FILE_APPL               = l_w_file
        I_FILE_OVERWRITE          = 'X'
    * IMPORTING
    *   E_FLG_OPEN_ERROR          =
    *   E_OS_MESSAGE              =
    EXCEPTIONS
       FE_FILE_OPEN_ERROR        = 1
       FE_FILE_EXISTS            = 2
       FE_FILE_WRITE_ERROR       = 3
       AP_NO_AUTHORITY           = 4
       AP_FILE_OPEN_ERROR        = 5
       AP_FILE_EMPTY             = 6
       OTHERS                    = 7
    IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
    * MESSAGE ID SY-MSGID TYPE SY-MSGTY NUMBER SY-MSGNO
    *         WITH SY-MSGV1 SY-MSGV2 SY-MSGV3 SY-MSGV4.
    ENDIF.
    Hope it will solve your query.

    hi jijeesh,
       Welcome to SDN.
    u can use to download file from application server to presentation server using the t/c CG3Y. in that it will ask the source file path and the target file path.
    if u want to find the source file path in the application server, u can use the transaction AL11 to find that one.

    Hello,
    Any sample code on the above Mentioned topic or any help plz....
    Thanks in Advance

    Dear Raja,
    first get your data in one internal table. Also you need to have path to your application server. then use below code to download same.
    *p_file - File name with path to application server.
    *itab - internal table with your data.
    OPEN DATASET: P_FILE FOR OUTPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT .
      LOOP AT ITAB.
        TRANSFER ITAB TO P_FILE.
      ENDLOOP.
      CLOSE DATASET: P_FILE.
    If any more clarification needed do mail me.

    how can i use the tomcat server in NB IDEYou can use either the bundled tomcat server or the bundled Sun Java System Application server for a given application. (In fact, you can also register any other 'supported server' with the ide and work with that server. Go to the 'Runtime' tab in the explorer window. Right-click an add-server menuitem; you will be taken to a dialog box where you will be presented with a list of supported servers; if you have any of those installed on your machine, you can register them with the ide).
    To run a project on tomcat, open the project properties window (from the right-click menu of the project in the project window) , select 'Run' category and select the required server from the 'Server' dropdown list.
    will it also crash?If the problem is with the application, then it is very likely that it will crash on tomcat too. On the other hand, if the problem is with the server settings, then it is possible that the app may run in one server but not on another...
    if used another program as JBUILDER will it needs also the SJSYes; you will need a webserver or an application server to deploy your web applications. NetBeans IDE provides a robust environment that helps develop and debug web apps but the apps themselves are deployed on an appserver.
    what do u mean by the server stack traceOn the runtime tab, right-click on SJSA and select 'view server log' to view the server log. (For a running tomcat, you can right-click and select 'view server output'...)
    i am using SJS 8.2 on NB IDE 4.1You may want to use later versions of NB (5.0 or 5.5 beta2; http://www.netbeans.org/downloads/index.html).
    Have u tried the samples and tutorials at:
