Business Catalyst content overrides footer content

I added a Business Catalyst photo gallery to my site by making a page template. I set the HTML box in muse to the bottom of page, but when i publish the site instead of pushing down the footer it goes above it. See the link photo-gallery.
I cant figure out what is the problem causing it, can anyone help?

No, i actually didnt fix this issue. for now i just made the page longer, but once ill add more images it will keep on overlapping the footer.
Please help me with this.

Business Catalyst templates not containing content in Muse built site

I am currently upgrading a clients website and have recently got into designing using Muse and thought I would try out the BUsiness Catalyst system to host it all etc. I wanted to use muse for the more static opages and the the blog for case studies and the ecommerce section for the product catalogue (even though we will not be selling online).
All was going swimmingly until I found the pages I had created for the main template pages {tag_pagecontent} or any other module on that note. The site search results was doing it too if the results can over a certain length. Its seemed that the page would be stuck at a standard height. I have dragged the content box down to meet the footer guide so in theory it expands the page when it has to but for some reason this isnt working for me. I am not sure if it is how I have sut up the footer or the page or the way I have the master pages working or something. I have tried various options but am about to give up. I either have to bin business catalyst or just use muse to create the whole catalogue but with over 200 products this could take some time.
I woudld appreciated some help from some more experienced users or techincal heads. I hope it is an easy fix or there is some way around it.

Also the sticky footer on these template pages and pages with module content (i.e the search results page) isnt sticking to the bottom as you can scroll past it. Which leads me to believe its something to do with the footer I have set up.

I did try unpinning but that didnt work for me either.
It took too long to get an answer so I am now using another system that doesnt have this problem. Hopefully when I use Muse again I wont have this problem. Sorry.

Can business catalyst be used on external content

We use Business Catalyst for a few sites, and really find the metrics and site information useful. We have some content that we would like to keep on our own local servers, and we were wondering if there is a way we can set up business catalyst to be able to give us the same information on the content we host locally, or if it can only work for hosted content.

Create pages with only contain the information you want to see on your internal site (sort of like a widget), you wont need a header and footer, just the one thing you want. Pull that content from your internal site using AJAX. The only issue is that if you use multiple of these elements your stats will be times that many. For example if you create 10 pages with the elements you need each AJAX page request (on your local server) will pull 10 page requests. So if you know how many you have you'll have to divide your stats by that. If you don't care so much for the stats then no problems.

How do I merge the content of one website into another with Business Catalyst?

I have two websites, each of them are Business Catalyst websites.
I would like to merge website 1 with website 2, so they are on the same domain.
Each website will effectively be put into it's own directory on the same domain, with the homepage allowing a visitor to decide which website they would like to see.
Is there an easy way to do this? I have a feeling it's a matter of copying all the content across, modifying the templates and doing everything manually page by page - which wouldn't be fun.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Error message "SiteFile.getCRC called with no text or binary content" when trying to publish site to Business Catalyst

I'm trying to publish my site to business catalyst, but keep getting a pop-up message and muse shuts down. The error message says "SiteFile.getCRC called with no text or binary content".
No issues before, but I made a few font changes and now I won't upload. I've updated Air and uninstalled/reinstalled Muse. Not sure what the issue or where to start.

Is there a way I can have Business Catalyst automatically import product content from Amazon? (e.g. a Web App I could build, perhaps?)

I'm currently building a site using Drupal that is basically a huge book database and book review site. In order to acquire basic information about certain books I'm using an Amazon module that automatically pulls information into my Drupal database (such as author name, page count, publication date, etc.) based on any ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number) I enter. It's a pretty nice arrangement. Also, people can click on a link that leads them to the item on Amazon so that they can purchase it and I can collect a puny affiliate commission. Yay Internet!
But I'd like to use Muse and Business Catalyst instead. I was able to create a Web App version of my database but I can't figure out how to 1) automatically import based on ASIN and 2) automatically link each book record in the database to its page on Amazon. Honestly, if I could just get the info into the database alone I'd be happy.
I'm afraid that Adobe would have to create some sort of connection on their end that interfaces with the Amazon API - and therefore there is no way to create such a website now using Muse. But, of course, I don't know everything so I ask you all: is there a way this can happen now?

To do stuff like that will always need custom coding and things like API work. You will never be able to use Muse for that, its a basic site design tool that can hook up to BC modules. You will need to use coding software and have custom API work done for things like this.

Tooltip widget bug? Shows up correctly in Muse preview, distorted content on business catalyst.

This is a cross question from Adobe Muse Bugs, as it also affects business catalyst.
I have 3 panels on my tooltip.
3 different descriptions for each one.
Preview mode shows up accurately on what I have designed, but when uploaded to business catalyst, only the distorted description from the first tooltip panel shows up.
The descriptions are really just rasterised text, with a translucent rectangle behind it.
This issue is not observed when viewing exported html file. Browser used to test is Google Chrome
What is the problem here? The widget? Muse? Business Catalyst? Chrome? And how do I fix it?

Ok, I've checked the site linked here with Safari.
It works normally, so I'm thinking it's a Chrome problem.

To save others hours looking for this, if you want to know how to set the Expiry Date from a custom HTML Web App Item submission form, you can do something like this:
input type="radio" style="display: none;" checked="true" value="2" id="daysRB"
input type="text" value="60" maxlength="2" style="display: inline; width: 25px;" id="Days" name="Days"
You can't set the date directly, but you can tell it how many days from today you want it to expire...

Moving Business Model Contents

Hi.
I need to move a business model content into another one without affecting presentation catalog.
I moved the fact table, the dimension tables, and the dimensions (except one that is already present in the destination busienss model).
I've got an error ...
Which is the best way to do it ?

You can write click your business model , and choose to duplicate , with or without corresponding Pres. Catalogue.
Otherwise you should be able to shift select, right click copy and paste. You may want to do this in smaller groups, ie fact tables, then logical dims, then hierarchies.
I've also see some joins not get copied before, and importantly, the content levels on LTS's and measures - I've seen those not get copied also.

Usage of Business Objects content in VC

Is it possible to embed Business Objects content (web-Intelligence, Crystal Reports) into VC based composite applications?
I know that Xcelsius can be embedded, but what about the rest (Including Pioneer).

Hi Thomas,
it depends on what do you expect by embedding these applications.
You can easily embed them via URL or iView, but then you only display them, but I assume that you need any data communication between VC and the Business Objects applications, which is not possible as far as I know.

Remove "My Adobe Partner and Business Catalyst" from Campaign email footer

My campaign emails all go out with "My Adobe Partner and Business Catalyst" at the bottom of each email.
I don't want this. Can you tell me how to remove it please.

Are you a BC partner and have a partner portal? Go to your settings and you set your own info or place blank characters to have it blank. Otherwise you cant.

Dreamweaver error when using Business Catalyst module tags in template

Hi all,
this is a recent and very distruptive error I have come accross in Dreamweaver CC.
When editing a document attached to a Business Catalyst template in Dreamweaver,
I was getting an error message (attached) saying:
"You have made changes to the code that is not marked as editable. If you retain those changes, they will be lost the next time you apply a template update to this file. Do you want to retain the changes until then?"
This happened every time I added a new html tag to the page, p div etc... which made DW unusable for editing files.
Having not got any useful help from BC support, they told me to contact Dreamweaver support!
In the end, I found through troubleshooting that it was the content holder module tags from Business Catalyst that were causing the problem,
I had recently converted my Header, Footer, Scripts etc to Content Holders in the site admin,
and when I removed these tags from my template and replaced them with the original html the problem disappeared.
The problem was happening on both my macs so the problem looked real to me,
but from searching online I couldn’t find people with similar issues, which made me think I must be doing something wrong.
As an aside,
I find the workflow between Dreamweaver CC and Business Catalyst, particularly in relation to DW templates very confusing.
I couldn’t find any up-to-date best practice guides for using DW in the Business Catalyst workflow that discusses the real issues I get every day:
- Best practice DW template editable region for {tag_pagecontent}
- BC pages updated from DW lose their page titles {tag_pagetitle} in BC admin (always causes problems for me)
If anyone is having these issues and found a way to get around them I’d be very interested,
I hope that this post will help some people who run into the same problem.

I found what may be at least a temporary solution to this problem. The error seems to something to do with the template file not having been updated, so whenever DW reads the file it looks like the template code has been changed (which of course it hasn't). It may be to do with the way BC treats the template code on the server side, as it seemed to start happening after I had downloaded some files from the server.
I opened the affected page and clicked Modify->Templates->Update Current Page and so far no error messages. Just one gotcha though. If you have any BC tags or Liquid code in your templates, DW converts it all to some kind of gobbledegook, so before you update the Template, copy all of your editable code and then paste it back in once the update has been done.

Using a Muse template in Business Catalyst

How can I use a template I created in Muse for my blog that is hosted on Adobe Business Catalyst? Creating web content in Muse is a lot easier and faster. I'm pretty familiar with Muse and BC, but I can't figure out how to do.
Currently I created a simple header and footer in BC and inserted {tag_pagecontent}. However, I'm much better at manuevering in Muse. I would also be able to be more creative in Muse.

I tried creating a page and inserting the {tag_pagecontent} in the Object>Insert HTML section. However, when that tag was on the page, the server kept throwing an error; it couldn't find the page. When I took the {tag_pagecontent} off of the page, it found the page.

Business Catalyst and Facebook problem

I have seen threads on this subject as well as the articles, but I am not certain the problem was answered. I have added a Facebook "like" button to my Large Product Display (and the button works). The large product display has several upsell/cross-sell items on it.
When I am testing it, I go to my FB page and look to see that it has indeed been posted. However, 2 problems show up.
1. The photo shown is not the main item, but one of the upsell/cross-sell items.
2. The descriptive text is using my footer text as the description.
Where did I go wrong?
I want to use the main photo and the product description (both of which are in the product's information). Is there a modifcation I can make to the module? Is something else needed?

For this you would use the Open Graph Tags, in this case the < og:image > and < og:description >. These are going to be Meta tags you will place in your Large Product Layout, using the image and description tags as the Meta content. Then when the page is loaded BC will place these into the head tag of the website.
Something like this:
<meta property="og:image" content="http://yoursitehere.com/{tag_imagepath}"/> //relative path might work, i tested a absolute path
<meta property="og:description" content="{tag_description}"/>
Another option is to use custom fields to populate these values.

How do I link my Creative Cloud account with Business Catalyst Web Hosting service?

I'm having difficulty understanding how to access the Business Catalyst service. I have attempted to log in directly to businesscatalyst.com/admin but continue to receive an error login message stating that my username and password are not recognized. I was not able to create a new business catalyst website via Dreamweaver either, despite having successfully logged into my Adobe Cloud account.
The only way I was able to set-up a website for use with Business Catalyst was by logging in via http://www.adobe.com/products/business-catalyst.html, and pressing the "try now" button, which allowed me to create a demo site. This also allowed me to log into BC, but when I attempted to upgrade the site from a trial to the webbasic service, I am asked for a payment method.
I understand that the creative cloud service includes basic web hosting for up to 5 sites and should work seamlessly with DW or Muse, or using the InContext editing options provided via browser, but I am unable to truly access any of this content. Am I doing something wrong here?
