C++ Source Code to Java

Does any1 know of any software or anything of the sort to convert
exsisting C++ source code to java source code??
Ur help will be appreciated .
Thanks..

While their may be such software as YAT suggests, remember that this may not result in good code. For example, a struct could be converted into a class with all its members public.
You might want to do this by hand if want "good" code.

  • Need to find the source code for java.util.LinkedList

    Hello all,
    I'm new to the forums and I actually need the LinkedList source file as well as all the source files for all Java packages and libraries. Please post a link here if you can, or email me at [email protected]
    Thanks again!

    But those must be platform dependant, not really that
    interesting to look at. I have never felt any need to
    look at those at least.Wake up and smell the coffee, abbie! I read the source code all the time and constantly tell my students to do that, too.
    1. Java source code is not platform dependent. The original poster wanted to look at linked list code, how could that be platform dependent?
    2. It is the implementation of the SDK APIs, so by definition it is implementation dependent code, liable to change in a later version. So don't assume anything beyond what is claimed in the API documentation. However, sometimes the documentation is incomplete or ambiguous to you, and reading the source can provide some insight, however implementation dependent. (Light a candle or curse the darkness.)
    3. Why read source code? It's a good way to learn how to program. You see something in the API and ask: how'd they do that? Or you realize you want to do something broadly similar, but you can't reuse the source code.
    For example, Images are not Serializable, but suppose you want a small image that is part of an object to be serialized with the rest of the object without too much fuss (ie, without using javax.imageio). You notice ImageIcon is serializable, so you use it. (An ImageIcon has-an Image.) Then you wonder: how'd they do that? You read the source and then you know.

  • Dynamic-side Box? Can't read source code with java

    Hi all,
    I am trying to read a source code of a web page with a java program. I can connect to the page and read a part of the source code without any problems however after a while when it comes to a part where mozilla and opera identifies as "dynamic-side box" my java program fails to read the source code and stops reading the rest of the page.
    Here is the part of the output I get from mozilla:
    <body id="city">
              <script type="text/javascript" src="/js/wz_tooltip.js"></script>
              <div id="container">

         <div id="information" class="dynamic">
              <h3 class="header">Info</h3>
              <div class="content">And here is the corresponding part in java console output:
    <div id="breadcrumbs">
        <h3>Bulundu&#287;un nokta:</h3>
         <span class="textLabel">Hata!</span>

            <div class="footer"></div>
        </div><!-- end #contentbox -->
    </div><!-- end #mainview -->Is there a way to skip this dynamic-side boxes in java. Because I need to read an information that is located at the near end of the source code however since it stops when it hits to a dynamic-side box I can't.
    Thanks in advance, regards...

    Hi,
    That is what I was trying in deed! I was trying with a Scanner but I also tried with the link you have given. That also failed. Somehow java stops reading the source when it hits "dynamic-side box". However there has to be a way to skip this. If mozilla can do that, I know that java also can. I wonder how....
    Cheers...

    It went from 40 MB to 240.
    Whats with the strange install process too?

  • Help me in finding the entry points in the source code of java.....

    hi...
    I want to design a compilation server and apply some of the optimization technique's like inlining, SSA and others.
    So i require to find the entry points in source code from where i can include my code and check the performance of the program at level it is performing .
    Please help in this problem....
    and i also like to know what are hot methods in java context?

    BigDaddyLoveHandles wrote:
    Do you even know Java? Why not just let the HotSpot optimization do its thing?Good point, I would try either of two things.
    If you have a good understanding of Java internals and are confident you could optimise code better, I suggest you contribute to the OpenJDK and we can all benefit.
    Otherwise I suggest you try using the optimisation built into the compiler and the JVM.
    Note: the JVM optimises the code dramatically in ways most normal people won't have thought possible.
    The compiler doesn't optimise the code so much as it leaves this job to the JVM.
    Two examples;
    - say you call a small method often. The JVM can inline this method for you. (the same way a compiler would) However say this method can be over-ridden and later your program calls a different implementation, it can inline both methods even if the new method in a new class didn't exist when the first method was inlined.
    - In a 32-bit JVM, 32-bit registers and references are used. In a 64-bit JVM 64-bit registers and references are used without needing to recompile the code. However there is a third option of using 32-bit references in a 64-bit JVM. In this case, it assumes the bottom 3 bits are always 000 so it shifts the reference down 3 bits allowing you to access 32 GB using 32-bit references. Again, you can use this with libraries which were compiled before 64-bit JVMs were available.

  • How to read and then extract HTMl source code using java program?

    Hi,
    Could someone tell me how to read and then extract the content of certain tag from html source code. For example, given url http://.... , I would like to know what the <Title> content <Title> in that page is.
    Any help is greatly appreciate.

    Use a URLConnection to make the connection to the page at the needed URL. From the URLConnection, you can get an InputStream that is the stream of data from that page. Just search through the stream and find the <title> tags (don't forget to check for case sensitivity).

  • Where can I find the source code of java.*?

    Hey guy
    Is there any way I can get the code of the classes under java.*?
    Some of the javadocs online are not quite clear to me,
    so I hope I can check the code directly instead of looking at the javadocs
    Thanks!

    A word of warning: the java.* classes do NOT necessarily represent best/current software engineering practices in general. Some classes have been extensively optimized at the expense of readability/clarity of the code, while others represent specific/peculiar implementations of software patterns that are the result of historic baggage.
    In general, any time you use "but that's how it's done in this or that java.* class" as an argument in a discussion, you'll likely lose.
    (note that this does not mean the java.* classes are rubbish, just that they don't necessarily make a good example to learn from)

    If you have no tool, you can write your own tool:
    import java.util.zip.*;
    import java.io.*;
    public class ZipTest {
         public static void main(String[] args) {
              if(args.length != 2) {
                   System.err.println("using: java ZipTest [zip file] [target directory]");
                   System.exit(1);
              String sourceFilename  = args[0];
              String targetDirectory = args[1];
              new ZipTest().unzip(sourceFilename, targetDirectory);
         public void unzip(String sourceFilename, String targetDirectory) {
              String fileSeparator = System.getProperty("file.separator");
              if(! targetDirectory.endsWith(fileSeparator)) {
                   targetDirectory += fileSeparator;
              try {
                   ZipFile zipFile = new ZipFile(sourceFilename);
                   java.util.Enumeration entries = zipFile.entries();
                   while(entries.hasMoreElements()) {
                        ZipEntry entry = (ZipEntry)entries.nextElement();
                        if(entry.isDirectory()) {
                             continue;
                        String name = entry.getName();
                        name = targetDirectory + name;
                        System.out.println(name);
                        File file = new File(name);
                        File directory = file.getParentFile();
                        if(! directory.exists()) {
                             directory.mkdirs();
                        BufferedInputStream bis = new BufferedInputStream(
                             zipFile.getInputStream(entry));
                        BufferedOutputStream bos = new BufferedOutputStream(
                             new FileOutputStream(file));
                        byte[] b = new byte[1024];
                        int count = 0;
                        while((count = bis.read(b, 0, 1024)) != -1) {
                             bos.write(b, 0, count);

    You didn't notice there's a "Support" link on that page you referred to? Ask them for the source code. If they won't give it to you, then you are effectively asking us to give you a stolen copy of it. Don't ask for such things on this site.

  • Where can I find Java 1.5 swing (JTabbedPane class) source code

    I've installed Java 1.5 and 1.6 JDK's on my PC. I was told that after you do this there is a jar file that contains Sun's Java source code (the .java files) that gets installed along with the JDK. However, I have not been able to find this jar file. Does anyone know where I can find the Sun Java 1.5 Swing library source files? Specifically I am trying to edit/modify the JTabbedPane class.

    I find the src.zip on my work PC, where I installed the 1.5/1.6 JDK back in 2007. Looks like when I installed the JDK's on my home PC that I did not get the src.zip file??? Anyway thanks for your help.
