Calculations not working

Hi All,
getting frustrated. I've done forms with calculations (invoice sheets etc.) and they worked well in the past. I can't seem to get the calculations to function in my latest form when they're used by the end used in Reader (8 or 9). Works well in Acrobat though. Is there something I can do to fix this? I've tried replacing the form boxes in question and redoing the sum and or product formulas. Always tests well and does nothing in Reader. Help appreciated.
Thanks,
Elliott

Still need help... Here's what George tried Part 1:
Elliot,
Thanks for the file, it looks great. When I changed the field names of
some of your fields (see attached file), the calculations started
working. I thought to change the field names because of the "$" that
was in the field names and thought that might be causing the trouble.
I would have to investigate this is bit more to understand the exact
nature of the problem, but for now, it might be best to limit your
field name character to letters, numbers, decimal point, and
underscore. I'll let you know if I find anything more about this.
If this works for you, you might want to update your forum posting if
you think this could help someone else.
Good luck,
George

  • Share  calculation  Not working in the report

    Iam surprised not to ge the simple share calculation not working at my report.
    I have a dimension and corresponding values ( measures) .I made a Total at the end of the report. and I want to calcualte share of Total to each corresponding value.
    how to do this, any thougts,...
    I have used calculated memebers for this, But I wan to make the percentage of the total ( which is calculated inside Tool itself)
    Please help....

    Prassad,
    Not totally sure what you are trying to achieve but there a couple of possible solutions:
    1) Total = total of all dimension members. Assuming you only have three dimension members then you should have a fourth member called ALL_DIMS or something similar. In the Share calculation template you need to specify the Total level as the basis for your share calc. This will generate the following result:
                             Revenue  % Share
    - All Members     600         100%
         A                  100           17%
         B                  200           33%
         C                  300           50%2) The total you are referring to is in fact a sub total and is the result of adding together only the results for A + B + C, i.e. you have hundreds of dimension members but you specifically want to see a total for just these three members. To do this create a new custom aggregate call "My Total" and add together the dimension members A + B + C - Custom Aggs are a new feature to Discoverer OLAP (Checkout Mark Rittman's excellent blog article for more information on this feature: http://www.rittmanmead.com/2006/11/13/checking-out-the-new-discoverer-101220-features/)
    Then in the Share calculation wizard set the basis for your index using the last option in the list "Specific Dimension Member" and select your new custom aggregate member.
    Hope this helps

  • Calculations not working in Reader Enabled PDF Form

    I created a basic Excel spreadsheet and imported it into Acrobat 11 to make a fillable form. Acrobat inserted most of the fields but I had to add some to complete the form. I went into the properties of the fields and set up the calculations using the standard Acrobat calculations. I want the product of field1, field2. When I preview the form, the calculations work. I then close the form for editing and save as reader extended PDF with more tools. When I open the pdf in reader the calculations do not work. I then researched many possibilities on the forums and even called adobe twice with no resolution. I was able to import a blank excel spreadsheet, then created three new fields with calculations and they worked in reader when I saved the form as a reader extended pdf with more tools. So my question is where does my problem originate? Is the problem with the excel spreadsheet or excel formatting ( Excel 2013)? Is the problem with Acrobat 11? When I asked the support tech at Adobe he said that he hasn't heard of this problem before. I have spent hours and hours on this, I have created new forms from scratch and even on different versions of word and acrobat. I figured these calculations should work, am I wrong? ( I have also tried using every calculation option including JavaScript). Thanks in advance for any help.

    It's hard to say without seeing a sample. If you can post one somewhere, I'd be happy to test it out. If you can't post somewhere, you can email me at: acroscript at gmail dot com

  • Calculations not working in browser window.

    I have a .PDF form with several points of of user data input, with other fields in the form doing the math for the user. My issue is that when the user downloads the form, it usually automatically downloads in a browser window and while they can view it and tab through it, none of the calculations are performed.   The only way I can have users use it the way intended is to ask them to open it Reader...or use Acrobat.   Is there a setting or something that would help it perform correctly in the browser window?  Thanks very muchad Here's the copy http://www.villageweaver.com/warp_calc_worksheet.pdf

    It works in a browser for me. Do the users who this is not working for have Reader or Acrobat instead of Preview? If they have Reader or Acrobat do they have javascript enabled within Reader/Acrobat?

  • Week number calculations not working ...

    Why doesn the week number calculation (ISO 8601) using datepart ('ww',#date#,crMonday,crFirstFourDays) not work?
    As an example do the following formula:
    DatePart('ww',CDate(2005,1,1),crMonday,crFirstFourDays)
    The result is 9363, quite an impressive week number
    This is an issue in versions 2008, XI R2, XI, 10 and possibly previous versions too

    Hi Raghavendra
    No I want to be able to calculate week number according to the week numbering definition from ISO 8601 - have a look at [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_week_date|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_week_date]
    If you want to use datepart ('ww, ... to solve this,
    you have to specify crMonday as third argument and crFirstFourDays as argument number 4 to tell datepart that weeks starts on mondays and week #1 is the one with the first 4 days of the year.
    Doing this makes my example date  used with datepart returns the week number 9363!!
    The DatePart('ww',CDate(2005,1,1),crMonday,crFirstFourDays) is supposed to return 53!!
    Weeknumbers are supposed to be between 1 and 52 or 53 depending of the year.
    Be aware weeks number 1, 52 and 53 very often contains days from 2 consequtive years, when defined according to ISO 8691.
    Your suggestion does not take into account the fact Weeks start on mondays and january 1st is not always the first day of week 1.
    It returns week number 1
    In fact it seems every day in the start of a year with weeknumber starting in the previous year gets the weeknumber calculated wrong.
    Regards,
    Poul
    Do you want to calculate the weeknumber of a particular date? If so please try datepart('ww',CDate(2005,1,1)).
    If not could you please explain me what you are trying to calculate and what output you are expecting?

    Please can you check the characteristic value using C00020 (C0 then 2 zeros before 20. Total 3 zeros before 20) instead of C0020 and check if this is working.

  • Keyfigure Calculation not working in Portal

    Hi Gurus,
         I have created a query in BEx query designer in BI 7.0 which has restricted key figures and calculated key figures. Restricted key figures are restricted based on Calweek customer exit variable, for calculating current week, previous year current week etc. When I ran the query in RSRT the customer exit code working properly and data is displaying correct. But when I ran same query in portal (EP) calculation for current week is fine but for previous year week we have problem. The data is not displaying for previous year week in portal.
    Would anyone please explain me why data is displaying fine in RSRT but there is no data for column previous year week in portal. Is there anyway I can debug in portal to check where the issue is like in RSRT. If yes please explain me in detail how to do that? IF anyone has faced this kind of problem please help me out I will appreciate your answer and time with points.
    Regards
    Baba.

    Hi All,
        The Customer exit varibles are working fine when I execute in RSRT or ABAP web in RSRT but when I ran on Java web its not working. When I click Java web in rsrt after entering query the values for that varibale is not displaying. I heard that there in one SAP note on this, would anyone please send me that note or explain me how to resolve this issue, thanks in adavnce.

  • Updated Acrobat and now Javascript calculations not working in new forms.

    I had created forms for my work that allowed me to calculate back dates from a given date to instruct the form users when components of a project were due. Below is the script I used- I am NOT a programmer and this was taken from another forum. It has worked successfully for 2 years in both Acrobat 9 & 10 and in various forms I have made.
    var strStart = this.getField("0VendorArtApproved-2wk").value;
    if(strStart.length)
      var dateStart = util.scand("mmm d, yyyy",strStart);
      var oneDay = 24 * 60 * 60 * 1000;
      var dueMillis = dateStart.getTime() - 21 * oneDay;
      var dueDate = new Date(dueMillis);
      event.value = util.printd("mmm d, yyyy",dueDate);
    else
      event.value = "NA";
    "0VendorArtApproved-2wk" is the field the previous date was taken from- this and the amount of days "- 21" changes from field to field. This form has 3 levels that it calulates dates from- which starts with a single initial date entered into a text box by the user. This allowed the user to see when different elements of a project were due. Sorry if this seems basic to all the Javascript masters but I am really very clueless on prgramming speak and only know what I have read from forums.
    The last version of the form that worked successfully was in Oct 13', I went to create a new form and copied these formula boxes to a new form and now half of them do no work.
    I have rechecked my formulas and formatting and cannot find and issue. They are exactly the same. One works and one does not. The only thing I can see different from the 2 forms is that I am certain there were 1 or 2 updates to the Acrobat software itself that could possibly have caused an issue.
    So I have 2 documents- 1 created in October 13' that works and one created today Jan 14' that does not work. They have the same formulas.
    Anyone aware of changes to Acrobat or errors in my formula that could have caused this? I am in version 10.1.9

    Applied this fix. There was an error in the NEW document. I redid the formulas in the NEW document and that did not work. Still had the same problem.
    SO I went back and redid the formulas in the fields in the OLD document to the revision I needed and that worked. All I was trying to do was tweak the number of days between one element and the next in this area and there were a bunch of other revisions to the form so I figured it was easier to start fresh.  I will just make all the revisions to the OLD document- which will be a lot of work, but at least my formulas are working. Not an ideal fix but something must have been glitchy in the new document and I now have a workable form.
    I believe some kind of odd interaction happened when I copy and pasted the fields from document to another.
    Thank you so much for your help! I am days away from maternity leave so I had to get this figured out fast!

  • Simple calculations not working in acrobat 9

    I have text form fields made in Acrobat 9 from a previously made pdf, where I need a simple calculation, but I cannot get it to work.
    The form is not for submission, only for personal tracking, so I don't even need validation.
    FieldA (a number they enter) x a number I have entered in the calculation = FieldB
    FieldB x FieldC (a number they enter) = FieldD In FieldB I have a simple javascript Calculation in the form field: FieldA * .115, which should automatically calculate answer into FieldB, when tabbed.
    In FieldD I have a Calculation in the form field: FieldB * FieldC, which should automatically calculate answer into FieldD. All fields are set as numbers.
    I have left the Trigger Action as Mouse Up.
    I don't need to validate, as this is personal use, and is not being submitted.
    I have all fields in the correct tab order.
    I have reader enabled the form. When I open the form in Reader, I can enter the numbers, but no calculations are being performed. It reads 0 in FieldB and FieldD. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Everyone,
    I use the following VBS code, but to tell the truth, I don't know if it works or not. The main idea was to enable commenting from Adobe Reader. But after execution code, saving document and reopening it in Reader, commenting is still 'Not Allowed'. Is showAnnotToolsWhenNoCollab really capable to allow this and there is only error in my code? Or is the functionality different and this way can never be used for what I want?
    There is another issue that application is not closed on Exit, but is still shown.
    scriptPath = "C:\Acrobat\"
    Set gApp = CreateObject("AcroExch.App")
    Set pdDoc = CreateObject("AcroExch.PDDoc")
    sampleFilePath = scriptPath & "AR_test_orig.pdf"
    pdDoc.Open sampleFilePath
    pdDoc.OpenAVDoc "myFile"
    gApp.Show
    Set formApp = CreateObject("AFormAut.App")
    'formApp.Fields.ExecuteThisJavascript "app.alert(""hello"");"
    formApp.Fields.ExecuteThisJavascript "Collab.showAnnotToolsWhenNoCollab = true;"
    Set formApp = Nothing
    pdDoc.Save 1, scriptPath & "AR_test.pdf"
    'pdDoc.Close
    gApp.CloseAllDocs
    gApp.Exit
    Set pdDoc = Nothing
    Set gApp = Nothing
    Thanks for any ideas.

  • Calculations not working after closing form editing

    Hi!
    I created a form with very basic calculations.  It all worked ok in the preview, but now that I have closed the form editing and saved, the calculations are no longer taking place, and just a zero is present.
    Can anyone tell me what I have done wrong?
    Also, is there any way to edit a form, or do I need to start over?
    Thanks!
    [edit]  I am using Adobe XI Pro

    Apologies for using the wrong forum.  I am a little slow.  Is there any way I can move the post?
    It works in the Form Preview in Acrobat.
    When I try to go to Tools - Forms - Edit I get the following message:
    This document restricts some Acrobat features to allow for extended features in Adobe Reader.  To create a copy of the document that is not restricted... ...click Save a Copy.
    Saving a copy makes no difference unfortunatley
    Thank you.

  • Help: Kensington KeyPad calculator NOT working! :-(

    I just purchased a Kensington KeyPad Calculator (model 33059) which is EXPRESSLY compatible with Mac and I cannot get it to work!! This is after I purchased and returned a Targus brand KeyPad that the manufacturer says was NOT compatible with Mac.
    The first time I plugged the kensington device in, the Keyboard Setup Assistant popped up which (1) I did not know what options to choose (the question prompted was to press the key immediately to the RIGHT of the LEFT-SIDE shift key on the new USB keypad and I DO NOT HAVE THAT...it's just a simple 19-key calculator pad!!) and (2) after not recognizing the keypad, the Setup Assistant gave me the option of choosing a 100+-key ANSI US default (again, NOT what the Kensington is--a simple calculator pad!!).
    The Kensington has two modes of imput...keypad and calculator. I tried to use the calculator function on the Kensington while Apple's calculator was launched and, ODDLY, the input single seems to be the number followed by CLEAR!! (i.e., press '8' and you can see a flutter on the Apple calculator corresponding to '8' and 'C' for CLEAR resulting in NO input!).
    If I open up a text document, I can navigate with the Kensington KeyPad and insert numbers into the document. This function, however, is not only MORE TEDIOUS than the regular keyboard but also NOT why I purchased the device! My GOAL is to use the KeyPad with Apple's CALCULATOR so that I can input numbers and functions using the familiarly-arranged calculator keypad instead of the straight, left-to-right, 1-thru-0 numbers on my Powerbook.
    Does anyone know how to set up or use this purported compatiable Kensington 33059 Keypad and its calculator function for use with Apple's calculator??
    Thanks so much!!

  • Form calculations not working?

    I created a form in Adobe Acrobat 9 with some simple sum and product calculations.  The fields calculate and populate correctly in Adobe Reader on my computer, but the calculations don't work at all on my iPad 1, Adobe Reader for iOS.
    Has anyone else had this issue, and is there a fix?

    "However, this is a feature we're considering for a future release." - This is so lame.
    We have been waited and waited for Adobe Reader to be on Ipad and finally it is there, we have to again wait for JS and calculations on Acroforms feature to be in. Adobe is too slow on this. Many of us "the developers" out there would appreciate if Adobe can have the Reader for iOS and Android to support more features. I have move my Clients from dynamic LC forms to Acroform (and trying on whatever works) and now my Clients are beginning to doubt if Adobe is a serious player. Please buck up.

  • Widgets (aside from Calculator) not working after 10.4.7 update

    Since updating my MacMini (Intel) OSX to 10.4.7 from 10.4.6, when I open up the widget pane, all are dead in the water other than the calculator. For example, the clocks show as clock faces but without any arms showing the time or words stating the geographic location for the clock. The dictionary widget shows but without the dictionary label and it doesn't respond to the curser. The weather box shows with just dashes and no information.
    What can I do to breath some life into my widgets?

    to uninstall the client:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=108021
    you can create a client installer with the admin
    under File, Create Client Installer...
    Thanks for this. I will look into it further. The document you refer to states that 10.4 Clients should only be stopped rather than uninstalled, this concerns me a little. As I have tried simply stopping the service I will escalate to uninstalling the client and then see if reinstalling resolves the issue. Many thanks for your response.

  • Key Figure calculation in Abap is not working correctly - Overlooping

    Hi,
    I wrote a logic to calculate the ratio of key figure but it is not working correctly
    For example I have a requirement to split 1 Product into Several new Products and also the Net Amount will be splitted to these several new products as well. The total Amount of the new product will be equivalent to the Net Amount.
    So far my Logic is splitting the product to several new products but the amount is incorrect as the calculation is over looping.
    Sample
    A PRODUCT has Net Amount 1000. And this product needs to be splitted into 3 new products. Each of this new product is assigned a ratio of 0.3, 0.2 and 0.7 respectively. total sum of the ratio is 1.
    PRODUCT1 0.3 = 1000 * 0.3 = 300
    PRODUCT2 0.2 = 1000 * 0.2 = 200
    PRODUCT3 0.7 = 1000 * 0.7 = 700
    The total amount of this new products is 1000.
    Now my logic is working this way.
    PRODUCT1 0.3 = 1000 * 0.3 = 300
    PRODUCT2 0.2 = 1000 * 0.2 * 0.3 = 60
    PRODUCT3 0.7 = 1000 * 0.2 * 0.3 * 0.7 = 42
    Only the PRODUCT1 is working correctly and there is overlooping for the remaining products

    Hi,
    I am not really good at debugging Abap code since I am a newbie. however  I have tried to add CLEAR T_DATA before the first loop.
    REFRESH T_DATA.
    LOOP AT DATA_PACKAGE.
    ZIDX = SY-TABIX.
    MOVE-CORRESPONDING DATA_PACKAGE TO T_DATA.
    and before the second loop and select statement and at the end of the loop.
    REFRESH T_NEWDSO.
    SELECT * FROM NEWDSO INTO table T_NEWDSO WHERE PROD =
    DATA_PACKAGE-PROD.
    SORT T_NEWDSO BY PROD.
    READ TABLE T_NEWDSO WITH KEY PROD = T_DATA-PROD.
    IF sy-subrc EQ 0.
    LOOP AT T_NEWDSO.
    but then not all data are being fetched.
    thanks
