Which by the way is a valid suggestion. This is a Java forum, not a crystal report forum. Google is your friend. Do some research on your own, and come back here if you have a specific, java-related question.
By the way unlike most people I actually tried to help you out by posting a link to something (that I found in five seconds by doing a Google search) that looked useful. Did you look at it? The title of the article is "Interface to control Crystal Reports", and it explains how to do so using Java.

Can anybody tell me how to call a crystal report, designed using Crystal Report 9, in form 6i? I tried one solution by using the host command but it was not working properly. The code I was tried is like:

Hi
First see the built in run_product function.
You can create a parameter list, add the
"MAXIMIZE" paramter in it and then call your
report with run_product passing your parameter list in it.
hence the called report will be maximized.

I have used crystal reports from oracle forms in one of my project. Send a mail to this address, i ll reply you back with the source code. My email address is [email protected] .
But if you just want to know the steps here it is :
STEPS TO display the Crystal Report in Oracle Forms :
1. Create a new form.
2. Create a control block, name it 'CONTROL'.
3. Create a CONTENT canvas, name it 'REPCAN'.
4. Create an ActiveX control on the canvas, name it 'CrystalReport1'.
5. Create a Image item , name it 'REP'. Make sure that image item overlaps the ActiveX control completely, this image item is used to get the item handle. Enlarge this object such a way that it will fit the window, the report gets displayed in this item so the item size should be adeqately large.
6. Right click on the ActiveX control item, select Insert Object from the menu.
7. From the list select Crystal Reprot Control.
8. Select the Progrm=> Import OLE Library Interface Menu in the form.
9. Select Crystal.CrystalReport from the List, this will list two methods and one Event . The two methods are CrystalCtrl and IRowCursor, the event is CrystalReprotEvent.
10. Select all the three and click on the OK button to accept. This will create the program units.
11. In the When-New-Form-Instance trigger of the form write the following code.

One thing to mark here is the, change the report name and path according to your required file name and path in
Crystal_CrystalCtrl.ReportFileName (:Item('Control.CrystalReport1').interface,'C:\Sample_Rep.Rpt');
12. If you want to run multiple reports then create a parameter and pass the file name to the form through the parameter. In the above line of code, you can replace the file name with parameter, so each time the form is called with different parameter with the file name , it displays different reports.
13 Run the Form.

Bapi Function call from Crystal reports 2008. import parameters syntax.

I have an issue with calling a function directly from Crystal reports (2008) in the R3 system.
(if this belongs in another thread , please add the link if moved !)
I try to get data through function "BAPI_CLASS_GET_CLASSIFICATIONS".
Till now all possible input parameters have no data-result.
I already read other threads stating that 'for example' the Language key needs to be provided in a single character. 'E' in stead of 'EN'.
I also already created a Z-wrap-function that fills out all input parameters 'hardcoded'. This works.
clearly there are som syntax changes in passing the values to R3 when called from Crystal Reports.
Can someone state which syntax has to be followed for numeric fields, for datefields etc. (so when i make these dynamical, I know which syntax should be the outcome of the formula)
in my function that doesn't work I use these selections:
(this function is called in a standard report only calling this function)

I just debugged my Z-function, after adding all input parameters as in the standard BAPI function.
All parameters seems to be passed correctly except from the table parameters from
CLASS_OBJECTS
So all I_parameters are passed :
{ZBAPI_CLASS_GET_CLASSIFICATION.I_LANGU_INT} = "EN" and
{ZBAPI_CLASS_GET_CLASSIFICATION.I_LANGU_ISO} = "EN" and
{ZBAPI_CLASS_GET_CLASSIFICATION.I_KEY_DATE} = Date (2011, 08, 05) and
{ZBAPI_CLASS_GET_CLASSIFICATION.I_CLASSNUM} = "DSWTEST" and
{ZBAPI_CLASS_GET_CLASSIFICATION.I_CLASSTYPE} = "001" and
{ZBAPI_CLASS_GET_CLASSIFICATION.I_CHARACTS_OF_CLASS_ONLY.BAPIFLAG} = ""
but the table parameters aren't coming through:
{ZBAPI_CLASS_GET_CLASSIFICATION.T_CLASS_OBJECTS.OBJECT_TYPE} = "MARA" and
{ZBAPI_CLASS_GET_CLASSIFICATION.T_CLASS_OBJECTS.OBJECT_KEY} = "000000000000000085" and

also after the function is executed and all data is retrieved, when passing the data back to Crystal reports, once again, the table result isn't passed to Crystal Reports.

Calling a ALV Report program via a Remote Function module.

The thing which I am looking out for is ,to know a technique to acheive this,
To start with,
For the transaction MB51-(Material Document List),which is a Report Program "RM07DOCS",I also observed that this uses a ALV to display the output.
Now what I actually require is another extra field (from MARA table ) along with the standard output that is displayed from this report.
Also this needs to be passed to a different UI system(build using VC ).
So I have a RFC eg DisplayList(),where in I need to exeucte this report program ,get the output what it gives ,add my additional information what I want to and pass it as a export parameter,
So this is the structure which I can visualise,
FUNCTION ZFUN_MB51TXN.
I would get all the import parameters here ,from who ever is calling my fun module,
*Call the report program,pass the input parameters required
*get the output from this report program
*send the output to the caller through export parameters
ENDFUNCTION.
So Here I need to know ,Can this be achieved something using Submit report or anything,Any guidelines to move further would be really of great help!

Variant calling in the report program.

Hi,
I got a report program to be called using the submit statement mentioned below.
SUBMIT... [USING SELECTION-SET <var>].
The Variant is saved in the Tcode. How can i get the Variant programatically rather than harcoding the variant name?.i mean any table it will be stored or any Function module available?.
The variants are stored in the TVARV table, but still i need to pass the variant name to get the entries from the table.Any other alternative.

That depends are you running Forms via the WEB or client/server. I will assume you are running client/server since you are running crystal reports. The answer is yes. All you will have to do is use the HOST command or the win_api_shell to run the report. Look in the Forms manual for information on the commands and what else you may need.

Calling a Crystal Report using the ReportViewerBean

Hello...I am writing a java application to display a Seagate Crystal report using the ReportViewerBean.
The problem I am having is trying to display the report within the viewer.
The following is a sample from my code where I create an instance of the viewer bean.

I am getting the same 'No Response from Server' Message.

Error while calling FM from report program

i am calling a FM using the follwoing program
REPORT ZTEST3.
DATA : EMPNO TYPE zempdata-EMPLOYEE_NUMBER,
      EMPNAME TYPE zempdata-EMPLOYEE_NAME,
      EMPSAL TYPE zempdata-EMPLOYEE_SALARY.
call function 'ZEMPMASTER'
    EXPORTING
      EMPNO        = '22609'.
      EMPNAME      = 'vishal'.
      EMPSAL      = 200.
but when i execute this program i am getting the following error
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_DYN_CALL_PARAM_MISSING', was
not caught and
therefore caused a runtime error.
The reason for the exception is:
When calling the function module "ZEMPMASTER", one of the parameters
needed according to the interface description was not specified.
This parameter was "EMPNAME".
i don't know why i am geteing this error where as in my FM ZEMPMASTER i have given only three input parameters
EMPNO, EMPNAME AND EMPSAL.
my FM code is like as follows

EMPSAL = 200.<-----------*retain this period*
We must never change the format in which a FM is displayed once we call the pattern.
The period will be automatically be available at the end of the FM.need not keep it at end of every line.

Calling CATT through report program

hai folks!
well i am facing some problem while working with CATT. i am making use of the transaction VT02N.
my problem is i am passing some records to CATT by using
excel sheet.here some records are processed succesfully
and some are not.now how to handle these error records,so that we can know what all the records are not processed succesfully.
NOTE: without looking into the error log. i want to handle it programatically.
Can we call CATT with in a loop.If so please suggest me.

this is code for open the crystal report press the button.
First import the crystal report using Report and layout manager
goto administration->setup->general--->Report and layout manager
create one button in add-on form.when we press the button the following event triggered.
get the docnumber for that particular form and pass it.

   there are 23 jar files that u need to import into ur package. but remember that ReportViewerBean should be the first jar file in the list & it should be followed by jrcerom.jar
specify the key in the CRConfig.xml file (which also has to be imported in the package)
u can find these jar files in the common objects folder in your program files.

Getting Error:Failed to open the connection while calling crystal report

I am getting the below error while calling the crystal report from dot net app. I am using OLEDB to connect to database. It is working perfectly in our DEV environment but as soon as I move it to production information after changing the logon information in the report it start giving the below error.

Are you able to connect to the database from the production machine using a UDL file?
If you haven't tried this, here's how to do it. Take these steps on the machine that is hosting the application. Create a new text file on the desktop. Change the file extension to ".udl" (without the quotes). Double-click on this to bring up the OLEDB connection test: start on the Provider tab and select the appropriate provider. Click "Next" and on the following tab enter your connection information. Click the "Test Connection" button to test the connection. Does it connect to the database successfully?
If you click on "OK" to close the dialog and then open the UDL file with Notepad, you should see an OLEDB connection string. In this string should be the same property values for server, database, user id and password which you are providing through your application. If they are not the same, modify your application to use these values.
If testing your connection information with the UDL file works but your application is still failing when using the same credentials, try profiling or tracing the database. Do you see connection attempts from the application? Are there any errors?
If you're impersonating, have you set up windows authentication correctly for both the application and the database?
