CALL_FUNCTION_OPEN_ERROR

Hi experts,
We are have an issue with the RFC connection. it gives a short dump with CALL_FUNCTION_OPEN_ERROR Error when opening an RFC connection when the number of users goes up. The RFC is link/gateway connection is not getting disconnected when the RFC is done with the execution. so the number of connections are going up and once the max is reached it starts dumping.
Is there a way to stop/kill the RFC connection once the execution of RFC is complete.
ST22 Error analysis
An error occurred when executing a Remote Function Call.
"CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPOCMINIT' : cmRc=17 thRc=249#Active connection table is full.
Please try again later "
Status of connection.... "CODE=CM_DEALLOCATED_ABEND -1 -1 SAPCODE=249 CONV="
Internal error code.... "RFC_IO5"
Is there a SM59 RFC connection setting which says disconnect once the RFC execution is done ?
Any inputs are welcome,
Regards
Diwakar

Hi,
Yes I was able to solve this,
Whenever I call a RFC the connection was not being closed when the execution of the RFC is complete . So I have to write the code to close that instance of RFC connection. I used the Function module 'RFC_CONNECTION_CLOSE' to close the connection whenever I call a RFC.
Thanks

  • CALL_FUNCTION_OPEN_ERROR in CRM while trying to connect to ECC system

    Hi All,
We are having issues while connecting to ECC system from CRM at specific point of time.
It occurred only once yesterday . Since it is a production system, we need to investigate the cause of the issue.
Upon checking the logs, I can see dumps in ST22 stating CALL_FUNCTION_OPEN_ERROR while trying to connect to ECC.
This issue has been faced by multiple users at the same time.
Both CRM and ECC are in the same server . There are no errors in ECC system ,
    The error description says
    Error opening RFC connection
Error text........... "Group USER not found"
    Description.......... "LgIGroupX"
The response time is fine for the system and during the time when the error occurred.
Both the systems are in kernel 720 patch level 416.
There are no errors in dev_rd and dev_ms as well.
The errors in trace file also give information that ECC system cannot be reached.
However our ECC system was available , up and running and there were no issues at that time with ECC.
I have attached the dump, kernel and patch level details , work process trace files and the response times.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks,
    Sowmya.

    Hi,
One reason could be there is no proper authorization to use the function module.
I suggest you better debug the program in production (if you have authorization) and analyze the error.

  • Dump in Production due to CALL_FUNCTION_OPEN_ERROR???

    Hi all,
I am getting lot of dumps in Production with following details
    What happened?
    Error in ABAP application program.
The current ABAP program "SAPLOLEA" had to be terminated because one of the
    statements could not be executed.
This is probably due to an error in the ABAP program.
    What can you do?
Print out the error message (using the "Print" function)
and make a note of the actions and input that caused the
    error.
To resolve the problem, contact your SAP system administrator.
You can use transaction ST22 (ABAP Dump Analysis) to view and administer
termination messages, especially those beyond their normal deletion
    date.

    Dear Vipin
That is a very complicated error, difficult to analyze.
First I would recommend an update of the SAP GUI onto the newest patch
level. Additionally please update the SAP kernel to the latest patchlevel and the RFC libraries!
If that all should not help, deeper analyses are to be made so in your system.
For that you should then create a support message.
    Best regards

    Hi,
It would make more sense to speak to a technical resource who is familiar with your system.  Based on the error, it looks like you have connection issues in your landscape - I'm assuming you have CRM & ERP systems communicating and it looks like there is a problem with their connectivity. Best get some basis resource to help you out.

  • XI: RFC -- JDBC communication deep structure

    Hello to all!
I've got a RFC <--> JDBC szenario. Insert an update statements work fine.
Now I want to implement a "SELECT"-statement. Therefore the XML-SQL-statements needs a <key>-tags such as:
    <key>
       <col1>value</col1>
       <col2>value</col2>
    </key>
    <key>
      <col2>value</col2>
    </key>
To represent the key structure in ABAP I did the following steps
    - I created a structure "keyvalue" with fields: column, value (for <col>value</col>),
    - a table type "andkey" with line type "keyvalue",
    -  another table type "orkey" with linetype "andkey"
I use the table type "orkey" as exporting parameter for the element "selectkey" in my rfc funtion module :
    CALL FUNCTION 'FUBA_JDBC' DESTINATION 'XI'
      EXPORTING
        selectkey         = it_key
      TABLES
        outtab            = it_outtab
      RESPONSE          =
My problem is now, that the rfc function module creates a shortdump: CALL_FUNCTION_OPEN_ERROR
Does anybody know a solution? Could I use the table type "orkey" in the rfc?
    Thanks for your suggestions,
    Christian

    Christian,
This should probably be posted in the abap forum, you can get some help there.

  • Material Group Replication from ECC

    Dear SRMers,
System Landscape : ECC 6.0 and SRM 5.0.
I am doing a material group replication from  ECC to SRM using the DNL_CUST_PROD1 customizing object. Before the replication ECC  was trying to confirm the target RFC destination(SRM) by prompting a logon. I logged in as myself and  the system gave a CALL_FUNCTION_OPEN_ERROR.
I defined the CRM Consumer as SRM in the CRM middleware parameters..
My question is do we need to define the User SRM in SU01 and when ECC tries to confirm the target RFC destination, do we need to login as the SRM User ?
Points will be rewarded for answers.
    Thanks in advance,
    Bob

    Hi,
The RFC user which you define in the SRM RFC detsination has to be obviously as SU01 user in SRM.Also the RFC user need to have SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW profile attached.See note 642202 for details.

  • Upgrade Dump analysis

    Hi Gurus
Here is a list of our system dumps in September and October. I would like if any of you would analyze these for any trends or differences.
The reason is that we upgraded from BW 3.1 to 3.5 by the end of September. We need to know if this has lead to a signifiacant change in the types of dumps we are receiving.

    Hi Jeevi,
You can check Dump using ST22 transaction. Dump analysis is nothing but the analysis as what was the cause of dump, what went on the worng in the program which resulted in dump and such questions and getting there answers.
    Reward points if useful.

  • Maximum Numebr Of Session reached error.

    Hello Friends,
When we are processing to post the inbound deliveries using the RBDAPP01, the deliveries are getting posted but we also get dumps in ST22 as a CALL_FUNCTION_OPEN_ERROR.
The numbre of dumps are also very high as the file has  also has around 3000 idocs to process.
When we run RBDAPP01 Program in foreground we get the pop up message as Maximun number of sessions are reached.
Not come across such kind of issue.
Any hint to tackle and avoid these dumps.
    Best Regards
    Prashant
