Call HTTP web service action not allowing HTTPS in SharePoint Designer 2013.

HTTP works perfectly in browser and in workflow.
HTTPS works perfectly in browser and hangs in workflow.
Others having this issue have been advised to use OAuth2. OAuth2 is not an option without HTTPS, you're passing authorization tokens around in plaintext. This is not an acceptable solution.
Please advise.

It says HTTPS web services will have an Issue with the SharePoint Designer.
Thanks, Parth

    Flash player works on https web sites but not on http web sites ?
    I've tryed a lot of things to solve this problem but impossible to find the solution.
    - re-instal flash player
    - disable the firewall (windows)
    - disable the firewall and the antivirus (bitdefender)
    I test my computer on an other internet provider and everything works correctly
    I test an other computer on my internet connection and everything works correctly.
    The problem comes from my computer on my internet connection.
    I'll appreciate a solution.
    Thank you.

    This is what you should see under "plugins" in Opera:
    Make sure Flash Player is listed and enabled.
    It comes from the same place as the plug-in for Firefox, so one won't work if the other doesn't.
    If that doesn't work, try a clean install. http://forums.adobe.com/message/4041846

    However, I always get unauthorized error.

  • Web Service do not work after save in Designer ES2 SP1

    Dear all,
    I am trying to migrate 8.2.1 process to ES2.
    Although it have some bugs, but the process are working fine when using ES2 without any SP.
    One day we installed SP1 for ES2 and hopeing for some bugs we found fixed, but find none of them fixed... oh well, so we continue the migration.
    And the problem happen when we try to modify the form for some testing, we find that even we *did not* modify anything in the form, if we pressed the save button and deploy the form, all the web service related code in the form will stop working.
    Anyone have any idea about this?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Bill

    Hi Paul,
    Thanks for the suggestion.
    Already tried to update the dataconnection by right click at data view, and choice "Refresh Data View", but that doesn't help, would like to know are there any others way to do so?
    I already open a case with the support, but it seem that the engineer in APAC region have a very slow response time...
    Just wonder if I can send the case to others support center with better response time.
    I tried to compare the form before and after save and find that some information may missing in the post-SP1 form.
    In the pre-SP1 from, I can find a <dd:dataDescription> section for every web service used in the form, but in the post-SP1 form they are missing.
    I tried to add that section back and it will make the web service usable again, but the problem is I need to do that every times I modify anything, and I also need to create this section for a every new web service added to the form...

  • Call Exchange Web Services from SP2013 Workflow

    Okay... so I would love to be able to call exchange.asmx to issue an "ExpandDL" request to get the members of a particular distribution list, but I can't seem to find any documentation on how to actually make that happen or how to make any code
    examples I find fit into the "Call HTTP Web Service" action format inside SPD. Ideas?

    Hi ramz,
    Based on the following similar post and article, SharePoint Designer 2013 platform workflow activity "Call HTTP Web Service" can't use the SOAP web service provided by Exchange(e.g. exchnage.asmx), we could only use the RESTful web service.

  • Sharepoint Online Can not edit anything in Sharepoint designer as Site collection administrator

    Dear all,
    I am using sharepoint online and sharepoint designer 2013. Things were working fine but one day it suddenly stopped working. I have assigned site collection administrator to several accounts and I tried on different computers. I can not edit anything in
    sharepoint designer 2013. Can not edit workflows, can not edit lists. Everything seems to be bugging out. I have reinstalled sharepoint designer and tried on different computers, all of them behave the same. I checked on all accounts I assigned site collection
    admin to, they all have full control over everything. I can edit lists on the sharepoint site with no problem. Anyone knows what's going on?
    I also created another blank site, same thing happens.
    -Timothy

    Are you able to edit site in IE?
    Try below:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/namkh/archive/2013/04/18/quot-the-web-site-has-been-configured-to-disallow-editing-with-sharepoint-designer-quot.aspx
     One straight forward way of doing it is from the UI (Which did not work in my case though :(  )
      1.  Right-click the ONET.XML file ( at \Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\TEMPLATE\SiteTemplates\<var><Service></var>\xml) for the site definition and open it with Notepad
           If you see “DisableWebDesignFeatures=wdfopensite” section in the one.xml that means your site has been configured to disallow SharePoint designer.
          You can remove this section from the file and should be able to access the site in designer now
    2.   If you are unable to get rid of “DisableWebDesignFeatures=wdfopensite” or find the correct onet.xml corresponding to your site definition, here is a simple script I put together to see if Designer is disabled on the site using the property
    vti_disablewebdesignfeatures2 and update it as required.

  • Calling Web Service from EJB using HTTP Client

    Hi,
    Scenario:
    I need to Call a Web Service from an EJB Application.I used HttpClient for calling the Web Service in the EJB Application. When i call the execute method of the HttpCLient it throws an exception
    The element type "META" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "</META>"
    The input XML does not have a node called META.
    When i call the Web Service using Http Client form an Java Application it is working fine.
    Kindly Suggest me the changes/steps that needs to be done
    Regards,
    S.V.Satish Kumar

    Hi Manish,
    SOAP adapter does pass the message to XI (this message contains SOAP envelope although XI expects to get message without it), and during the mapping step i get "Runtime Exception in Message-Mapping transformatio~".
    I suppose it's because i created proxy manually. I did so because when i imported WSDL, and tried to generate proxy in CRM, i got an error message that said that proxy couldn't be generated because external definitions are only allowed in XI 3. But my XI version is 3.0! And when I generate the same proxy in my R/3 system that is installed on WAS 640, it works.
    What can I do?
    Cheers,
    Anya.

  • Calling (HTTPS web service) in sharepoint 2013 workflow (SPD)

    I am using SharePoint 2013. I have created a list workflow in SharePoint Designer. I know there is an action "Call HTTP Web Service". Is it possible to access some webservice with authentication (username and password)?

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/dn567558%28v=office.15%29.aspx
    the OData formats support communication with anonymous web services as well as with those protected by various types of authentication. In short, you have full control over the request and response for each service call. This allows you to use a series of
    activities within a workflow to first authenticate using one service and obtain an OAuth token, and then include that token in future requests to services secured using the
    OAuth 2.0 protocol.

    Hmm, based on error it looks like service provider expecting some security headers. Are you able to test from other utility soapUI or browser?

  • New to Web Services - need to call a HTTPS web service from PL/SQL

    I am new to Web Services and need to call HTTPS web service from PL/SQL program. I am using 10g Database.
    I have been reading there are 2 options -
    1. UTL_HTTP - with this package its possible to call HTTPS web services
    2. UTL_DBWS
    Questions -
    1. Is it possible to call a HTTPS web service using UTL_DBWS ? I have not been able to find any information on it.
    2. Can someone point me to UTL_HTTP and UTL_DBWS examples calling a HTTPS web service ?
    3. The HTTPS web service that I need to call needs username/password to connect - how will I incorporate this in the pl/sql code ?
    Appreciate the help.
    Cheers,

    Hi,
    1. UTL_DBWS not work for https from what I understand
    2. Here is a sample example:
    [http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/9i/ConsumingWebServices9i.php#]
    Be careful, you must change http/1.0 IN 1.1 inside package SOAP_API.
    Here is an example for a prime number where the SOAP message is already construct:
    CREATE OR REPLACE procedure test_ws_2
    IS
    http_req utl_http.req;
    http_resp utl_http.resp;
    request_env varchar2(32767);
    response_env varchar2(32767);
    begin
    -- Set proxy details if no direct net connection.
    UTL_HTTP.set_proxy('http://<USER>:<PASS>@10.0.2.21:8070', NULL);
    UTL_HTTP.set_persistent_conn_support(TRUE);
    request_env:='<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/1999/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/1999/XMLSchema">'||
    '<SOAP-ENV:Body><GetPrimeNumbers xmlns="http://microsoft.com/webservices/" SOAP-ENV:encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/">'||
    '<max xsi:type="xsd:int">10</max>'||
    '</GetPrimeNumbers></SOAP-ENV:Body></SOAP-ENV:Envelope>';
    dbms_output.put_line('Length of Request:' || length(request_env));
    dbms_output.put_line ('Request: ' || request_env);
    http_req := utl_http.begin_request('http://www50.brinkster.com/vbfacileinpt/np.asmx','POST', utl_http.HTTP_VERSION_1_1);
    utl_http.set_header(http_req, 'Content-Type', 'text/xml; charset=utf-8');
    utl_http.set_header(http_req, 'Content-Length', length(request_env));
    utl_http.set_header(http_req, 'SOAPAction', '"http://microsoft.com/webservices/GetPrimeNumbers"');
    utl_http.write_text(http_req, request_env);
    dbms_output.put_line('');
    http_resp := utl_http.get_response(http_req);
    dbms_output.put_line('Response Received');
    dbms_output.put_line('--------------------------');
    dbms_output.put_line ( 'Status code: ' || http_resp.status_code );
    dbms_output.put_line ( 'Reason phrase: ' || http_resp.reason_phrase );
    utl_http.read_text(http_resp, response_env);
    dbms_output.put_line('Response: ');
    dbms_output.put_line(response_env);
    utl_http.end_response(http_resp);
    end test_ws_2;
    Otherwice for testing url, i recommand you to use that function: Re: Error using UTL_HTTP over HTTPS
    it's a verry helpful function when you have an error.
    wrote:
    When testing using UTL_HTTP, you MUST ensure that you open a new session after importing the SSL certificates into your Wallet,
    as I've learned (the hard way) that existing sessions point to the wallet contents that were present when the session was opened.
    If you don't realise/know this, it can cause a lot of additional frustration during testing, when you keep getting the ORA-29024 exception AFTER
    you've imported the SSL certificates................. ;) 3. i think you can use that after the begin_request but not sure :
    UTL_HTTP.set_authentication(r => http_req,
    username => ,
    password => ,
    scheme => ,
    for_proxy => );

  • How to call a web service from BPEL that requires HTTP basic authentication

    Hi All,
    I need to calling some Web Services from BPEL (SOA 10.1.3.1 production running on XP machine). The services require HTTP basic authentication.
    I have tried adding httpUsername and httpPassword properties to the ParnterLink, and I see in BPEL Console that they are deployed by checking the descriptor page. But I still get a SOAP fault, HTTP 401: Unathenticated.
    I have also tried using basicHeaders (from memory) = credentials, httpBasicUsername, and httpBasicPassword. Same result.
    I have done a packet trace using Ethereal, and the headers do not seem to contain the userid and password at all.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks,
    Mark Nelson

    Thanks Bas,
    I have resolved the issue. The provider of the Web Service had not configured if for Basic Authentication. For some reason it worked when they tested, or maybe the did not test. The only thing I had to change was to use:
    <property name="basicHeaders">credentials</property>
    <property name="basicUsername">WMDATA</property>
    <property name="basicPassword">WMDATA</property>
    Instead of:
    <property name="httpUsername">WMDATA</property>
    <property name="httpPassword">WMDATA</property>
    I don’t know why this is, maybe because it is an Axis Web Service.
    Sorry for wasting your time.
    Regards Pete

  • How to call "https" web service from Oracle without certification.

    The reuirement is to call a secured web service (*https web service*) from Oracle9i without involving any additional cost.
    Initialy I tried with UTL_HTTP package but in vain as it is needed some certification. As per the requirement no additional cost should be involved with the implementation.
    So is there any way to achieve the above mentioned problem?
    Please let me know the responses with the sample code/steps.

    Please try not to double post. You have the ability to edit your original thread.
    Oh, BTW, try searching the forum. A quick search turned up this: HTTPS request signed by client certificate from PL/SQL procedure
    Check that out and maybe that will solve your problems.
    Thanks!

  • HTTPS Web Service datastore : does not work in case of proxy

    Data Services 12.2 on Windows XP SP2
    I've set up a datastore, type "web service", url is https://.... (an external web service, outside of our company)
    I'm able to import the functions of this web service into the datastore.
    In a DF, in a query transform, I call one these functions.
    The job fails with this error message :
    There is no response for the web service <searchCertificate>. Ensure that the network, web server, and service are running properly. Also ensure that the service client call time out is set properly.
    I'm sure the web service is active. I have to pass a proxy.
    When I do not have to pass a proxy (when I execute this job on my laptop not connected to the office network) the job runs fine !
    How can you configure the axis2.xml so that https can run with a proxy ? (no problem to do this for http web services, but I do not see a solution for https web services !)
    Thanks !!

    Hi Sukarna,
    the connection is not the problem.
    Actually I've tested the scenario of abap proxy --> PI -->abap proxy for the same interface, it works fine. Only when I try ws instead of proxy, I got this error. Since proxy scenario works fine, the connection should not be issue.
    any more clues?
    Thanks
