Call Javascript function with getURL

I can either open a new window using the
getURL(javascript:function()) or I can open a new page and pass a
variable using getURL("yourpage.aspx", "Get") but I really need to
open the pop up with the javascript:function AND bring the
information from the variable into an HTML form field within the
pop up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i have this in my flash file:
w = image[p];
getURL("javascript:show(" + w + ")");
(w ends up being /images/myimage01.jpg, and so on...)
the javascript function is this:
function show(url) {
var a = document.getElementById('dummyanchor');
a.setAttribute('href',url);
myLightbox.start(a);
im acutally getting an error saying invalid flag after
regular expression now.
any other thoughts?

The above code display the data in row format is working fine when I click the No It thow javascript error and its not redirecting to the other page.

Calling javascript function with StageWebView problems

I have a test html page I made to R&D some functionality, in my view I have a stageWebView and am calling a local html file from inside the app like this:
stageWebView.loadURL(new File(new File('app:/assets/html/reports.html?stuff=1234').nativePath).url);
I then try and call a javascript function called tester() from the html page like this: stageWebView.loadURL("javascript:tester()");
And the only thing I see in the debug console is:
ReferenceError: Can't find variable: tester
From what I have found online this is the way that this should be done. Does anyone have any ideas? I am not running this on a device yet, just in the FlashBuilder emulator.

Are you able to load the local html file? I have been trying to load a local file, test.html, using the web view have have not been able to get it to load at all. It always gives me a blank page using file: or app:

Calling javascript function with pressing button

Hello,
I would like to enable an item on my page wihic is disabled before.
I should use a javascript function.
I wrote in the page HTML Header:

enItem.enabled = true;

I would like to call this funtion when i press a button.
How can i do that? It is possible?

How to call javascript function in Flash

Please help...
I have a site that run multiple of domain for example
Domain (A): raymond.com
Domain (B): raymond.ca
The problem is this.. when (B) html page load the flash file
that locate at (A) it load but non of the buttons work which call
javascript function using getURL("javascript:showpopup()"); But it
work fine if all reside on the same domain,eg( (A) html page load
flash file form (A)). Anyone know how to solve this other than
create a set of flash files on (B).

Using Javascript Functions with Flash 8

I wanted to know how to integrate Javascript functions with
Flash 8 created swf files. I assume this would be done using
ActionScript, I know some ActionScript but am not as familiar with
it as to be able to integrate other programming languages with it.
I'd like to be able to call other programming language functions
with my swf files.
The particular case I'm working on now is to be able to open
Pop-Up windows for display of web items from within links written
in ActionScript in a swf file. In other words, have the user click
a link in a Flash movie and open a window using a Javascript
window.open function that would be called. I would like the window
to contain more flash movies that contained further links to
functions. If any one could offer up some advice or point me to a
few tutorials and how tos on how to get the Flash part of this done
I'd appreciate it.
In a broader scope, a seemless workflow linking Flash output
files to outside scripting and programming functions would be nice
to know if anyone has links or input on where I can read up on
this.

WAD: Add variable to a called javascript function on button group item

Hi All,
I need your expertise regarding the following problem:
To increase performance, I've decided to hide all analysis tables. To set these tables to visible, there is a button to switch the state for each table.
Because this function is needed for each table, the function has two parameters for the analysis item name and the new state.
Unfortunately, I get an useless error message after calling the function.
The function in script item looks like
function switchTable(itemName, newState)
The function is started by a button of a button group item as javascript and the following script function
switchTable('ANALYSIS_ITEM_1', 'VISIBLE')
If I enter a without parameters, that will call the function with these parameters, it works.
But if i try this directly from the script function in the button parameters, the function will be called correctly, but an error occurs and the analysis item wasn't displayed or the sendCommand wasn't processed completely.
I hope there is a way to call javascripts by a button with variables, otherwise I would have to create many functions with only an other item_ref.

One short note:
It's possible to trigger the same function by an html input form button with onlick switchTable('ANALYSIS_ITEM_1', 'VISIBLE')
and this works.
Has anyone an idea what's the problem with a normal button item of the button group item?
Another possibility is a menu item. The functions were called, but errors were shown.

You say that I must have an Item or region that contains my js with conditionnal display. With this method I can execute my js with specific request value.
My problem is that I tried to integrate the "save large value workaround" in my application with the APEX wysiwyg (fckeditor). To do that I have to call the javascript function clob_submit on the save button. This function save the value of my field but if I want to save other item value, how can I do that ?
If I use your method, I will submit the page, save the other field and after that, I will branch on the same page. At this moment, I will execute my javascript file.

IPad = webStageView = HTML = call javascript function thru Flash

Has anyone loaded a HTML file thru webStageView, and then been able to call javascript functions embeded in the HTML through flash.
I've seen references to using webStageViewBRIDGE but I think that has been depreciated.

Stagewebviewbridge is a 3rd party library (not an official Adobe product). It looks like it is still supported. The technique described should work even if the library isn't being actively developed.

Also, note that most techniques which use the HTMLLoader class will not work with the StageWebView class -- they are entirely different beasts. (Well, to be precise, on desktop computers, StageWebView uses the same Webkit code, but the interface to it is still very different.)

You need to use a left click to handle JavaScript links.

i am trying to call java script function in back bean but not done. Is there any code for call javascript function in bean file.

Java runs at server side.
JSF produces HTML output.
Server sends HTML output to client.
Java stops running.
HTML runs at client side.
JS starts to run in HTML.
Clear? Java is a server side language. JS is a client side language. To run JS using JSF, simply print it out to the HTML so that it get invoked when the HTML runs.
