Call of Duty 2 no longer works

Have been playing this for some time now. Suddenly, anytime I try to start the game I get the 'Call of Duty 2 has unexpectedly quit' message.
What's weird is multiplayer seems to start up fine.
I've repaired permissions, booted into single user mode and run file system check - neither of which found any problems - to no effect.
Then I trashed it and reinstalled. Same result.
Anybody have any suggestions? Please help. I'm on 10.5.2 and have 4 gigs of RAM.

Just a quick question... is it possible that invoking a method in a JNI-compliant DLL from Java 6 will fail if the DLL's source was compiled against the JNI header files from Java 4 or 5 ? I have a DLL with methods that used to be called successfully (and now fail outright and don't even seem to be getting inside the native method), but it seems that the only thing that could have changed in the environment is the installed JRE. Even stranger, I don't get the hs_err* files anymore to indicate that the JVM crashed. Does anyone know why this might happen ? Thanks !

You could of course be doing something in the JNI code in terms of working with Java which no longer works. Just as it is at least possible that java code from one version might not work with another.
Correct error checking in the JNI code would at least correctly identify this problem however.

You seem unsure whether the JNI is being called at all, so verifying that first would be a good idea.

I've updated to iOS7 and now don't receive most calls AND my alarm no longer works.

I use my phone for work and so my family can reach me when I'm at work so this obviously is not good. I missed over a dozen calls and another 7 or 8 text messages today. Sometimes a call or text will come through like they used to with iOS6 but most of the time they will not. This does not change whether I have my Bluetooth earpiece in or not.
And advice will be appreciated otherwise I'll be forced to purchase another type of phone.

Caller Id with Landline No Longer Working - Called Verizon 4 times without success

I have a Verizon landline account (no Fios) and the caller id has stopped working. I first tried using their help desk and went through the automated process of resetting it but that did not work. Then I've tried 3 other times while speaking to a technician at Verizon and each time they say the service is activated and then close the trouble ticket without verifying that it actually works. It's been going on for two weeks now with no decent help from Verizon. Does anybody know how to fix it?

Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you.Please go to your profile page for the forum, and look in the middle, right at the top where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
Under “My Support Cases” you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe".
Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.

HELP! FF no longer works with Mixpod player

Something is broken in this last release of FF. I tried safe mode, no help. My website if http://richardratner.com . I use the mixpod player. It works fine in IE, but some called to say it no longer works in FF, and I tried it and it's true. I really don't want to go through the entire website to change players. Please help.

It works for me on my end (very pretty music, by the way). It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check, and you should leave Shockwave Flash enabled), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). Of course that will also disable Flash, so it's not good in your case. Please do it manually. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. Ok so I happened to figure it out while on the phone to apple support. Even though the guy was very nice, I think I knew more than him! He was explaining very basic resolution principles I played about. I had the second option in displays resolution. All I did was unplug the HDMI cable, click on 'best for display' then plugged the HDMI in and my resolution on the normal monitor changed to the normal blue, then went black momentarily and then changed to a strange resolution but another window appeared that said SONY BRAVIA HDMI at the top! Hey presto! Don't know why it didn't do it yesterday - I probably left the HDMI cable in or something! Oh well. Problem solved!

After up date my I phone 5 will no longer work when calling an automated phone . Press 1 for this or 2 for that. It tells me wrong selection.

Pretty much. Except that Apple will replace it for a fixed fee that is far less than the cost of a new phone. In the US the replacement cost for an iPhone 4 is $149. It is comparable in the UK. Unless you can prove that the fault was present at the time of purchase. A switch wearing out would probably be considered normal wear and tear, not a "fault".

Swipe to call no longer works

Ever since this last update, the function of swiping right on a name to call no longer works on my SG3. It still works to swipe left for messaging. was this a stupid part of the update or just another bug?

Bluetooth no longer works for incoming calls after recent update

When I updated my Bluetooth to iOS 6, the Bluetooth no longer works for incoming calls. I press button to answer call, it makes a small cracking noise, and then sends the call to my phone. I can use the Bluetooth for outgoing calls and it works just fine. I was hoping when I updated to iOS 6.0.1 that the problem would be fixed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Bluetooth but that has not helped either. I am frustrated. I have a LG HBM-905 Bluetooth that I loved prior to this problem.

Magically started working today after I synced.

Are you saying that you bought the game from the App store and made another copy onto a dvd so you can play it on another computer too? If so, you can not do that, you have to buy it again for the other computer.

Can't get PS3 controller to work on iMac with Lion with Call of Duty 4.

I was able to pair my PS3 controller with my iMac, running Lion, but it will not do anything. I am trying to use it with Call of Duty 4. My bluetooth says it is connected to the controller. I really don't have any other games to try it on to see if it is a game compatability issue. Is this a known problem? How do I make it work?

There's one more way that the previously-existing Oracle directories on the other machines might be tripping you up - with registry settings. In particular, the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\(some home)NLS_LANG registry key may be associated with the "invalid or unknown NLS parameter value specified" error you're getting.
Of course, the Instant Client isn't supposed to have to mess with the registry, so that makes me suspicious. And I got Instant Client SQL*PLUS on a clean XP machine to work without setting an ORACLE_HOME. All this makes me suspicious that some stuff from outside your Instant Client is being run. I know you said you cleaned your environment variables, but double-check that the other Oracle directories are out of your PATH.
If you have permission to, you might want to thoroughly scrub the old Oracles from the other machines (starting with running the Oracle Installer, then hand-cleaning the registry, the c:\Ora92 or whatever directory, and then c:\Program Files\Oracle). If you have MetaLink, Document 74790.1 is a dated but good guide to cleanly de-installing an old Oracle installation from Windows. It's much more difficult than it ought to be; sometimes it feels like an Oracle home is never truly gone. If you can't do that, perhaps save a copy of your registry and then temporarily rename HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE to ORACLE_HIDDEN, or something - something to keep any existing registry settings from distracting your Instant Client.

Call of duty 1.5 patch on intel working for anyone?

If anyone has seen my past posts you would know i have been having some problems with my 24" intel iMac and call f duty and call of duty United Offensive. Well to save you all the past posts..i have finally gotten the disks installed on my computer and running. the problem is if i try to install the 1.5 patch for COD. the installation doesn't happen. it stops installing at the start and looks like it will continue but never does. I called Aspyr and they said that the patch is not intel compatible and that it won't install. bummer. however they also told me that COD in general would not run on an intel or with my graphics card and it runs 100% better than COD 2 does....which runs like atari. has anyone installed the 1.5 patch successfully? if so how? thanks

ok guys...here is the NEW news. you may like this but lets not get our hopes up. don't bother trying to install the patch from your friends computer,i have talked to aspyr a few times over the phone about this the past couple of days and they said it can only be updated from the installer. no other way. I tried doing that too with no success. but i will now copy the email that i sent them and their responses. tell me how i did:)

You don’t install VS2010 on the client PC, then where did the Form Invoice not work? When you run it from another version of VS? Or when you run the application with application.exe?
Based on your description, one form works well, another form does not. I assume that two forms are in two different projects, then please check the .Net Framework used by the two projects. If they are different, you can use the
one used by the Form contact for Form Invoice.
Because this issue is a project issue, I recommend you to consult it on some application forum such as Windows Forms General forum for better support.

TS2799 call of duty world at war zombies does not work

I had purchased this game yesterday and it will not start

Note that the current version of Call of Duty World at War: Zombies does not work on the new iOS 4.2.1 - it crashes each time. This is due to the intro video. I have a support call logged with Activision on this but they don't seem to be to bothered hence why I will ask for a refund and not bother with their products going forward.
