Call secured BAM WebService

Hi,
I want to use BAM adapter in my app.
I created in JDeveloper JCA and wsdl files, and generated business service from them.
When I launch test console to test my business service, I get authentication error:
The invocation resulted in an error: Invoke JCA outbound service failed with application error, exception: com.bea.wli.sb.transports.jca.JCATransportException: oracle.tip.adapter.sa.api.JCABindingException: oracle.tip.adapter.sa.impl.fw.ext.org.collaxa.thirdparty.apache.wsif.WSIFException: servicebus:/WSDL/Test%20OSB%20Project/JCA/BamAdapter_1 [ writetoBAM_ptt::writetoBAM(_ItemSalesCollection) ] - WSIF JCA Execute of operation 'writetoBAM' failed due to: javax.security.auth.login.LoginException: [Security:090304]Authentication Failed: User javax.security.auth.login.LoginException: [Security:090301]Password Not Supplied; nested exception is:

at com.bea.wli.sb.transports.jca.binding.JCATransportOutboundOperationBindingServiceImpl.invokeOneWay(JCATransportOutboundOperationBindingServiceImpl.java:114)
How can I call the BAM service behind authentication? I didn't find any way to provide credentials to business service.
Thanks.
upd. I tried adding parameters to connection pools and configuring trusted domains. It didn't work

Hi
You need to setup the BAM adapter in the WLS console under Deployments --> BAM Adapter.
Please refer to BPEL-BAM tutorial on the BAM OTN page under BAM 11g Samples and tutorials.

• Call secure RestFul WebService with basic authorization via https

Hi,
is there a way to call a secure RestFul WebService with basic authorization via https from APEX?
Database: Oracle 11g XE
APEX: 4.2.1
I have a solution by calling the WebService from Java which was called from the database via scheduled job (execute).
As my hosting partner does not support Java I am looking for another option.
Regards
Markus

Hi,
I think its not possible, in this link you can find in more detail why.
Its related with the use of wallets to acess https requests.
http://www.apexninjas.com/blog/2011/06/https-access-with-utl_http-on-oracle-xe-has-anyone-managed-to-do-this/
Edit: Because you are using Oracle XE

• Firewall Setting NoRouteToHostException while calling secured webservice

Hi All,
I tried calling a secured webservice from oracle database. While calling the webservice i am getting the NoRouteToHostException exception. The possible cause for this exception is
"Signals that an error occurred while attempting to connect a socket to a remote address and port. Typically, the remote host cannot be reached because of an intervening firewall, or if an intermediate router is down. "
I found the ipaddress is correct.
I would like to know the cause "intervening firewall". Will any port has to be enable in oracle database to call secured webservice from the Database or where to check in the database for firewall setting
Thanks,

HTTPS protocol in other words?
While calling the webservice i am getting the NoRouteToHostException exception. The possible cause for this exception is "Signals that an error occurred while attempting to connect a socket to a remote address and port. Typically, the remote host cannot be reached because of an intervening firewall, or if an intermediate router is down. "Not an Oracle issue and not really relevant to this forum (or any other forum on OTN I think). This is a straightforward network issue dealing with routing tables it seems to me.
The error simply means that the application (PL/SQL in Oracle server when using UTL_HTTP) references an IP address that does not exist locally (different subnet/netmask) and that the IP packets need to be routed (via an "+intermediary+") in order to reach that IP address.
I would like to know the cause "intervening firewall". Will any port has to be enable in oracle database to call secured webservice from the Database or where to check in the database for firewall settingYou should look at the local routing table on the server. For example, your server is IP address +196.1.83.100+ and you need to reach IP address +165.147.45.30+.
The server's IP stack needs to know where to send traffic for +165.147.45.30+ to? Which interface on the server to use (there can be multiple)? What is the address of the router that will route the traffic to this IP?
Let's say we use the primary (first) interface and that the routing is done by +196.43.4.1+. The server's routing table on the should then look something as follows:
oracle@myserver ~> route -n
Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface
165.147.45.30   196.43.4.1      255.255.255.255 UGH   0      0        0 eth0
.. remaining entries..The "+route add+" command is used to add such a route to the routing table.
I suggest however that you discuss this first with the o/s or network administrator to ensure that the routing table is not only correctly updated, but that the server is configured to create this route automatically at boot time.

• Calling secured Web Service

Hi,
I am new in calling web service from PL/SQL block.
From the code I'm successfully able to call non-secured webservice like this "http://www.ignyte.com/webservices/ignyte.whatsshowing.webservice/moviefunctions.asmx?wsdl"
And also by setting the wallet I'm also able to call secured web service like this "https://www.docusign.net/api/3.0/Credential.asmx?WSDL" (ping method).
For calling this secured service I stored certs with chain into the wallet and that works.
But my problem is a different web service where that web service is authenticating me with my certificate. I have VeriSign certificate with private key and that web service has my public key. Whenever I will send SOAP request I need to send my certificate with the request. And communication will be over SSL.
I have created a wallet with complete chain from the PFX file I received from VeriSign and Wallet is in Ready state, also I have included web service's certificate also.
Whenever I am trying to make SOAP call I'm getting
ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [kgazmo_1], [], [], [], [], [], [], []
Please let me know where is the problem. May be I'm not able to send my certificate for authentication or may be I'm not able to establish SSL for communication from PL/SQL.
I'm using 10.1.2 as database. I also have 10g AS installed, if that can help in achieving this.
Code is as follows:
FUNCTION CallWS
RETURN xmltype
AS
l_request soap_api.t_request;
l_response soap_api.t_response;
l_url VARCHAR2(32767);
l_namespace VARCHAR2(32767);
l_method VARCHAR2(32767);
l_soap_action VARCHAR2(32767);
l_doc xmltype;
BEGIN
l_url := 'https://secured.webservice.com/WS/WebService.asmx';
l_namespace := 'xmlns="https://secured.webservice.com/WS"';
l_method := 'GetMe';
l_soap_action := 'https://secured.webservice.com/WS/GetMe';
utl_http.set_wallet('file:c:/wallets','pass123');
l_request := soap_api.new_request(p_method => l_method,
p_namespace => l_namespace);
soap_api.add_parameter(p_request => l_request,
p_name => 'param1',
p_type => 'xsd:string',
p_value => 'val1');
soap_api.add_parameter(p_request => l_request,
p_name => 'param2',
p_type => 'xsd:string',
p_value => 'val2');
l_response := soap_api.invoke(p_request => l_request,
p_url => l_url,
p_action => l_soap_action );
l_doc := l_response.doc;
RETURN l_doc;
END CallWS;
You can find SOAP_API package here [SOAP_API|http://www.oracle-base.com/dba/miscellaneous/soap_api.sql] .
Thanks in advance.

Thanks again Billy,
I have configured a wallet with all the necessary certificates. Actually I have purchased a VeriSign trusted certificate and convert that into Oracle Wallet (p12) using openssl with appropriate password. And I'm calling UTL_HTTP.set_wallet('<path_to_wallet>','<pass_to_open_it>');
I have send my public key to them (web service company) and they need me to send my certificate with every request so that they can authenticate.
You are saying we don't have to write any code for TLS/SSL UTL_HTTP will take care of that, thats really good.
One more thing I want to mention here...
In Internet Explorer - When I am importing my certificate without my private key and trying to access web service I'm getting 404 page not found error.
But when I'm importing my certificate with the private key, I can see WSDL and all other methods offered by that web service.
I'm guessing Oracle Wallet that I'm creating with my certificate will store private key also. B'coz it is showing me User Certificate in Ready state.
ORA-00600 is not giving me proper location where I can find any error in my code.
Thanks

• How to call an encrypted webservice in BPEL process?

If i need to call a J2EE webservice which need to authenticate,like need to provide the username and password,or need to provide the signature,how can i discribe it in a BPEL process? Is there any article addressing this problem?
Thank you!

OWSM can mange both ways. You have the option of using the gateway or using the OWSM gateway. The gateway is easier to configure but data is decrypted between the gateway and the SOA Suite / BPEL so depending on your use case and security you may need to use agents.
cheers

• How can I call a stateful webservice from a user-defined XPath function?

I'm calling a stateful webservice from a BPEL process using a PartnerLink which implements Custom Header Handler classes to handle the session state, storing the cookie as a property of the PartnerLink.
I'd also like to call this same stateful webservice, in the same session, from a user-defined XPath function enabling me to call this from an XSL Transformation.
Is this in any way possible? Can I access the cookie and attach it to the webservice call made by the user-defined XPath function?

Actually, as long as the servlet returns valid javascript, you can indeed "call it" from the client. It will initiate a request and return the result to the browser.
This example uses Perl, but it could be easily modified to go to a servlet instead.
Note that it is only supported in DOM browsers (IE6+/NN6+/etc)

• Was told by Michael store manager at West Hollywood verizon store to get out or he will call security to boot me and my two kids out.

I ordered a new iphone 6+ to be delivered to my house. It was shipped on 12/30 and was to arrive on 12/31. At 6pm I did not receive phone and tracked the package with fedex. Fedex site stated that phone was delivered and signed by some last name that I did not recognize. Called verizon cs, they told me that they are not fedex and only see that it was delivered. I called fedex and they said it was signed by the reception desk, to which I stated that I live in a 15 unit building that has a security code to get in and no receptionist desk, they tracked further and told me that it was delivered to a different address than what was on shipping label but do not know why. Called back verizon and after 45 minutes got a supervisor on the phone who actually wanted to help. He called my local fedex office that delivers to my zipcode and after another 20 minutes came back on the line and told me that for some unknown reason fedex brought package to verizon corporate store in west hollywood by error. He apologized and said it may have been because of the holidays and will try his best to find a solution. He said that if it is ok with me he will call the store when he gets to work in the morning on the 1st and find out if they have my package, to which I was ok with even though it is very inconvenient. He actually called back about 11am on the 1st and told me he spoke to verizon on 7100 santa monica blvd and the manager at the store did in fact have my package. He confirmed that the label on the package was with my name and my home address and not with his stores name or address. This supervisor said that he apologizes for the inconvenience but that I can go ahead and drive there to pick up my package. I had my husband dress the kids and drive down to the store. My husband came to the store and asked them for the package that was delivered to them by error, a sales person brought out my box and started asking my husband for the phone number of the phone so she could access our account and activate it. My husband told her that he just needs the package and doesnt need any activation at the store as we need to call 611 and have the phone activated to a different line. This is when the bad went to really bad. The lady told him she needs the account to verify something, he complied and even gave her the password that is on our account. She asked for his id and than told him that since package has your wifes name she cannot give it to him. He had my id with him and gave her my id. At this point the store manager Michael comes from the back and has this to say "sir let me tell you how we run things here, you could have gotten this id anywhere and I am not giving you your package". My husband was taken back by this as he verified the account password have my id and has his credit card with his name on it which was used to pay for this phone. Now mind you that he explains to this MANAGER that the item in the box legally belongs to him as he has already been charged for it and the shipping label is not labeled in his stores name and address. Michael continues to be rude to which my husband replied that he can call the police and have the package be claimed a theft since he has already paid for it and it is legally his. Michael says get out of the store or I will call security to boot you out. This is all with out 7 and 5 year olds standing next to my husband. So a customer of 10 years with 4 family lines come in to retrieve a box labeled with the customers name and home address which has been paid for and a manager tells him to get out or he will call security. Words cannot describe this situation but it doesnt ends there. My husband having a cool head calls 611 to get the supervisor who asked him to pick up the phone at the store on the line. He is put on hold for a total of 90 minutes. Over an hour and a half later they inform him that they cannot locate the supervisor as he is calling a different call center and they are unable and unwilling to help. Wanting to not escalate the situation my husband left the store and tried to resolve problem with 611. He called a total of 12 times and each time was routed to different departments and had the call dropped numerous times. How is that for a New Year present for my husband buying a new phone from Verizon.

Your story is all well and good, but your husband FIRST threatened to call the police and report a theft the store was perpetrating, which they were not. Yes, the package was addressed to the customer, but that customer was YOU and YOU were not there.
YOU should simply go down to the store, retrieve YOUR package and thank the store for helping to prevent identity theft.
The store said YOU could come down and pick up the package. Did they tell you SOMEONE ELSE could do so???
It seems the easiest way to have resolved the issue would have been for YOU to go pick up YOUR package.

• How can we call a external webservice from sandboxed webpart?

Hi,
I need to call an external webservice from sandboxed visual webpart in 2013. And that webpart would be used in office-365 site. Please let me whether it is possible or not.
Thanks,
Arindam

Sandboxed solution server code can't call an external web service. There are ways to write a sandboxed solution that calls a web service using client side code. Here's a sample of a silverlight application deployed via the sandbox that can call
an external web service.

• Deserialization Failed error when calling a SAP Webservice

Hello,
I'm trying to call an SAP Webservice from a .NET Mobile application, this particular BAPI expects an array of objects and when I make the call I get a deserialization problems. I have tried make the array size to 0 but no luck, I have couple of other function modules which are working fine but have a problem with this BAPI BAPI_ALM_ORDEROPER_GET_LIST.
any help is greatly appriciated.
Thanks
Vinay

Dear Vinay,
Does your other FM are also using arrays.?
Deserialization problem comes when xml parser is not able to convert XML schema or values to language specific elements.
And this problem normally comes if you are using complex data types.
Can you check once again and reply.
Regards,
Piyush

Hi Timo,
In Soap ui we are not getting any error. We are generating a webserviceproxy out of the wsdl. After creating proxy we right click the wsdl and do a test webservice.
Then we are getting the below error.
"invalid namespace for prefix ns1. The operation cannot proceed"
Just wanted to check with you can webserviceproxy be created of the wsdl which contain multiple schemas?
Thanks Timo.
Best Regards,
Rahul

• Bam Webservice Testing in SoapUI

Hi,
i tried to do the batch, insert operation by using bam webservice Wsdl in soapUI but it is giving BAM-06147: invalid XML payload for DataObjectOperations Web service
Wsdl I am Using Is: http://localhost:9001/OracleBAMWS/WebServices/DataObjectOperationsByID
request payload in SoapUi
<soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:bam="http://xmlns.oracle.com/bam">
<soapenv:Header/>
<soapenv:Body>
<bam:Insert>
<!--Optional:-->
<bam:dataObject>/Samples/Employees</bam:dataObject>
<!--Optional:-->
<bam:xmlPayload><_Employees>
<_Salesperson>Time Bray</_Salesperson>
<_Sales_Area>EMEA</_Sales_Area>
<_Sales_Number>12345</_Sales_Number>
</_Employees>
</bam:xmlPayload>
</bam:Insert>
</soapenv:Body>
</soapenv:Envelope>
can any one help me on solve this issue....
thanks in advance..

Hi,
It's tricky because bam:xmlPayload is actually xsd:string typed and not xsd:any, so you need to use CDATA
<bam:xmlPayload>
<![CDATA[
<_Employees>
<_Salesperson>Time Bray</_Salesperson>
<_Sales_Area>EMEA</_Sales_Area>
<_Sales_Number>12345</_Sales_Number>
</_Employees>
</bam:xmlPayload>
Cheers,
Vlad

• I have an add-in called "Security Protection 1.0.0" that i don't recall adding and i can't find any information on it. i have disabled it for now. what is it?

the add-on is called "Security Protection 1.0.0 by lightning"
i have included the image that is shown on the addins page corresponding to this addin.
the tag lists the image source as src="chrome://shortcutff/skin/icon.png" if that is helpful.
i have noticed that the chrome browser also has the same looking addin except that it is version "1.2.4"
thank you

You can check the extensions.ini file in the Firefox profile folder to see if this extension is installed globally in case there is not Remove button in about:addons but only a Disable buuton.

• Call more external webservice from apex

How can call more external webservice from apex - consecutively one after another - one execute, than next used as a parameter of the previous webservice results

Sandboxed solution server code can't call an external web service. There are ways to write a sandboxed solution that calls a web service using client side code. Here's a sample of a silverlight application deployed via the sandbox that can call
an external web service.
