    @Scott, first are you running update 3? If so, let’s clarify at the outside that, as that bug report (you point to) does indicate in the notes below it, there is a fix for a problem where this feature broke in that release.  And as it notes, you can email [email protected] to request the fix (referring to that bug), or you can wait for it to be released publicly as part of a larger set of fixes.
    If you are NOT on update 3, or you may apply the fix and find things still don’t work, I would wonder about a few things, from what you’ve described.
    First, you say that the CF service won’t start, and you offer some lines from the ColdFusion-error log. Just to be clear, those particular error messages are common and nothing to worry about. They definitely do NOT reflect any reason CF doesn’t start. But are you confirming that that time (in the log lines) is in fact the time that you had started CF, when it would not start? I’d suspect not.
    Look instead in the coldfusin-out.log. What does THAT log show at the time you try to start CF and it won’t start? You may find something else there. (And since you refer to editing the server.xml file, you may the log complains that because of an error in the XML it can’t “parse” the file. It’s worth checking.
    You say also that you have confirmed that “paths are correct in CF Admin to the cert file”. What path are you referring to? There’s no page in the CF admin that points to the CACERTS file in which the certs are stored. Do you perhaps mean on the “system info” or “settings summary” page? Even so there’s still no line in there which refers to the “cert file”.
    Instead—and this could be a part of your problem—the cert file is simply found WITHIN the directory where CF’s pointed to to find its JVM. Wherever THAT is, is where you need to put any certificates. So take a look at the CF Admin, either in the ”java and jvm” page (and the value of its “Java Virtual Machine Path”), or in the “settings summary” or “system information” pages and their value for “Java Home”. Is that something like \coldfusion11\jre? Or something like \Java\jdk1.7.0_71\jre? Whichever it is, THAT’s where you need to put the certs, within there (in its \lib\security folder).
    Finally, when you say that if you “comment out the SSL sections  it works fine”, do you mean that a) CF comes up and b) some example code calling your socket works, as long as you don’t use SSL?
    To be clear, no, you don’t need any other version of CF11 to get websockets to work. But if you are on update 3, that may be the simple problem. Let us know how it goes for you with this info.

  • Calling a library function node much faster than labview code?

    Hi,  I wrote a labview routine to perform a multiple tau autocorrelation on a large array of integers.  A multi tau autocorrelation is a way to reduce the computation time of the correlation but at the expense of resolution.  You can taylor the multitau correlation to give you good resolution where you need it.  For instance, I require good resolution near the middle (the peak) of the correlation, so I do a linear autocorrelation for the first 64 channels from the peak, then I skip every second channel for the next 32, then skip every 4th channel for 32 more, then skip every 8th for 32 channels... etc.
    Originally, I wrote my own multitau calculation, but it took several hours to perform for just 1024 channels of the correlation of around 2million points of data.  I need to actually do the the correlation on probably 2 billion or more points of data, which would take days.  So then I tried using labview's AutoCorrelation.vi which calls a library function.  It could do a linear autocorrelation with 4 million points in less than a minute.  I figured that writing my code in C and calling it using a call library function node would be faster, but that much faster?
    Finally, I wrote some code that extracts the correlation data points that I would've got from my multitau code from the linear correlation function that I get from the AutoCorrelation.vi.  Clearly this is not optimal, since I spend time calculating all those channels of the correlation function just to throw them away in the end, but I need to do this because the final step of my procedure is to fit the correlation function to a theoretical one.  With say 2million points, the fit would take too long.  The interesting thing here is that simply extracting the 1024 point from the linear autocorrelation function takes a significant amount of time.  Is labview really that slow?
    So, my questions are...  if I rewrite my multitau autocorrelation function in C and call it using a call library function node, will it run that much faster?  Can I achieve the same efficiency if I use a formula node structure?  Why does it take so long just to extract 1024 points from an array?
    I've tried hiding indicators and this speeds things up a little bit, but not very much.
    I'll attach my code if you're interested in taking a look.  There is a switch on the front panel called 'MultiTau'... if in the off position, the code performs the linear autocorrelation with the AutoCorrelation.vi, if in the on position, it performs a multitau autocorrelation using the code I wrote.  Thanks for any help.

    Hi,
    The C routine that AutoCorrelation.vi is using is probably a higly optimised routine. If you write a routine in LabVIEW, it should be less then 15% slower. But you'd have to know all ins and outs of LabVIEW. How data is handled, when memory is allocated, etc. Also note that the AutoCorrelation.vi has years of engineering behind it, and probably multiple programmers.
    It might even be possible that the c code uses an algorithmic improvement, like the Fast Fourier Transform improves speed on the Fourier Transform. I think the autocorrelation can be done using FFT, but that isn't my thing, so I'm not sure.
    For a fair comparation, posting the code in this forum was a good idea. I'm sure together we can get it to 115% or less of the C variant. (15/115 is just a guess, btw)
    I'm still using LV7.1 for client compatibility, so I'll look at the code later.

    Wiebe.

  • Error 1097 after calling dll function which allocates memory inside

    Hello!
    When a call one my functions in my dll from LabView, i get an error 1097. My function takes a few arguments and then allocates some memory for measurement.
    It's not returning any pointers to that memory area, it is just allocates that memory for itself. I don't know what could be the problem, probably i am missing something.
    Could you help please?
    Best regards,
    Tamas
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Are you sure that the allocate function is the problem?
    Error 1097 simply means something inside the external code wrote into memory locations that it was not meant to write. That is usually because of output buffer parameters that are not allocated (large enough) in LabVIEW when passed to the external code fucntion, so the function assuming it received a buffer of a certain size happily writes into that buffer but overwriting other information it should not have.
    But that is by far not the only possibility to cause this error. A simple bug in the external code can cause the same problem when a pointer goes astray or such. The fact that you used that library elsewhere already without seeing any problem is unfortunately no guarantee that the function is not buggy. The LabVIEW exeception handling around the Call Library Node has gotten rather picky and can detect violations that do not have to cause visible problems at all. But the violations it detects are real violations so just silencing them is not a good idea, as they could cause all kinds of problems including overwriting vital data structures in your program that either cause a crash later on or simply wrong results in other parts of your program. Especially the last one is a total bummer to debug.
    Without seeing much more of your code it is basically impossible to point out where the problem could lie. The particular Allocate function doesn't look like there is much that could be done wrong, but I would assume that you call several other functions too somewhere, which could cause the problem. If you can absolutely positively say that you never ever call any library function with a to short (or unallocated) buffer parameter, then you will have to take it up with the manufacturer of your lib, as it would seem very likely that there is some problem in there.
    Also you pass a handle to the library function but your Allocate function does not have this as a parameter! Where does this handle come from? Are you sure you have allocated and prepared it properly before calling this function? A handle is quite often a pointer, although usually a so called opaque pointer meaning the user of the library does not and should not know anything about the structure this pointer points to. It is only known internal to the library.

  • Programatically create objects in library which can be imported to stage

    I need to create an object in code which can then be imported to the stage.
    Specifically it's a circle with an ellipse cut out of it.  The size and position of the ellipse masked out need to be parameterized by sliders, and the size of the circle as a whole is also a parameter which might be dragged out on the stage.
    Does anyone have an example of how to programatically create an object in action script which can be imported to the library which can take parameters (or rather expose some methods) which can be wired to other things in the project like a knob or slider?
    Thanks in advance!
    Michael Grant

    you can use the function below.  call it passing parameters for the circle's absolute x, y, radius and color and passing the ellipses (relative to the circle) x,y,radius x, radius y.  a sprite is returned with the graphics, i think, you want:
    ////////////  sample function call: ///////////////////////////////////////////////
    var c:Sprite = circleMinusEllipse(100,200,50,0xaa0000,-40,-20,40,20);
    addChild(c);
    //////////// nothing below needs to be changed ////////////////////////
    function circleMinusEllipse(cX:Number,cY:Number,r:Number,col:Number,eX:Number,eY:Number,rX:Number, rY:Number):Sprite{
        var c:Sprite = new Sprite();
        c.x = cX;
        c.y = cY;
        with(c.graphics){
            beginFill(col);
            drawCircle(0,0,r);
            drawEllipse(eX,eY,2*rX,2*rY);
            endFill();

  • How to call jsf page which is in a seperate project

    hi,
    I am using JDEV 11.1.2.2.0 verrsion.
    how can i call jsf page which is inside the seperate project.

    Hi,
    How is the jsf page deployed? As a separate application or as part of the same application? If it is separate app, you can use the goLink method suggested by Suresh. If it is in the same app, you can create a taskflow and drop the page as view activity. Then, create an ADF Library out of the project and use it in your project where you want to call it.

  • Trouble when Labview call CVI DLL in after compiled to EXE

    Hi,
    I m developing a program by LabVIEW, and have to call a DLL, which developed by using CVI.
    The UI of the DLL consist of a table and a listbox.
    The DLL run smoothly but when I compiled the project to EXE, when the program call the DLL, the DLL won't show properly.
    The DLL UI only show the table, and the listbox has "disappeared".
    Any common known-problem caused it ? Please advise. Thanks a lot.

    Hi Engwei,
    I'm not familiar with any such issue. Would it be possible for you to post the corresponding CVI and LabVIEW codes and the built DLL and executable? I would like to investigate this issue further. Also, what version of CVI and LabVIEW are you using?

  • C-style variable arg list handling in Call To Library VI?

    I have Labview 6.0 on a Windows 2000 PC and I have a DLL with routine that I am trying to call in a VI. I am using the Call Library Function VI to call this routine. My problem is this. The routine uses a C-style variable argument list (like the printf function). In other words, the routine can accept any number of arguments and will decide how many of those arguments to process and what those arguments mean based on the values of the arguments.
    Is there a way to handle such variable argument lists in Labview, or do I have to create a different VI for each possible argument list length?

    Thanks. So, just to double check, the only way to work with a DLL routine that can have arbitrary numbers of arguments is to guess ahead of time how many arguments there will be and create the appropriate number of terminals? I have a related question which you might be able to answer. I've noticed that some VIs offer a "add terminal" contextual menu option. If wanted to create a wrapper VI for a Call to Library Function VI that calls on a variable argument function and handles some intermediate processing, could I give such a VI a "add terminal" option? If so, how do I manage added terminals within the wrapper VI?
    Thanks,
    Neal

  • ITunes 7 calls my library invalid

    after upgradeing to itunes 7 i got this message
    the file "iTunes Library" does not appear to be a valid iTunes library file. iTunes has attempted to recover your iTunes library and renamed this file to "iTunes library (damaged)"
    this deleated over 1000 of my songs... which i backed up so it's not really alost... but whats wrong with my old library and will it happen again
    also now when playing songs on iTunes i hear a clicking sound from my speakers. its not the speakers cause it only happens when i'm playing iTunes

    ok i just discovered somthing rather interesting
    all this time after iTunes said my library was damaged i was trying to re upload all my songs from out side sources (DVDs External HD etc) and eventually i was being informd that i was running out of space on my HD.
    in my KAT>MUSIC>iTUNES>iTUNES MUSIC folder...all my songs are there... undamaged and i was able to simply copy them back to iTunes from there.... file folder by file folder.... brought back almost 8000 songs so my total in iTunes library was up too about 10,000.
    then as i was re nameing some of the files in itunes (deleteing some copies etc) iTunes shut down. when i restarted it, it said once again... "your iTunes Library is invalid.... we are retriveing your library and calling the old library iTunes Library (Damaged) 1" when i opened iTunes i was back down to 2000 songs
    so now in my KAT>MUSIC>iTUNES folder there is...
    iTunes Library 4MB
    iTunes Library (damaged) 13MB
    iTunes Library (damaged)1 15MB
    and in my KAT>MUSIC>iTUNES>iTUNESMUSIC folder there are all my songs
    why does it keep calling my library invalid and should i even bother re-copying the songs to iTunes. should i delete the (damaged) libraries that are takeing up so much space in the HD

  • Function not found in library when I compile .so file in linux

    I am trying to get a driver for a california instruments power supply
    working under Linux. The drivers called DLLs compiled under windows I
    think. When I use those, the DLL could not be opened, so I compiled the
    DLL source under Linux. When I use the nm -g on the .so file, I get a
    list of all of the external functions including the ones I am trying to
    call from Labview, but when I try to run I get "function not found in
    library when I compile .so file in linux" even though I can see the
    function using nm. Is there something special I need to do to this .so
    file so Labview can read it?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Steve,
    I'm not sure if simply recompiling the source code of the dll will be enough to create a Linux driver. I'm assuming the DLL makes some windows specific calls that are not supported in linux. How were you able to compile it in linux BTW? Did you have to change the code around to make it work?
    Your best bet would be to probably try to find a linux version of the driver from the manufactrurer itself.

  • Calling a VI which uses "system exec.vi" with LabVIEW run-time engine as adapter

    Hi,
    My TestStand sequence calls a VI which includes a call to "system exec.vi". When I try to load it in TestStand and if LabVIEW adapter is set to run-time engine, I get an error message "Unable to load Vi...". If I switch the adapter to "Development system", then it works fine.
    Is there any way to use "system exec.vi" in a VI which is called in TestStand with LabVIEW run-time ?
    Thanks,
    Alex

    Hi Alex,
    In you case, you are getting a -18002 error.
    The reason is explained in the following link:

    Please have a look at the 2nd reason. This is your case.
    Hope it helps,

  • Session method and call transaction methos which one is the sap recomonded

    hi
    PLease give me the answer to these questions.
    session method and call transaction methos which one is the sap recomonded why .
    2) if we want to maintain BDC program in all the systems.wt to d0

    Hi Revethi,
    Here is the difference between the Session and Call Transaction method.
         Session
    Session method supports both small amount of data aswell as large amount of data
    2) data processing is asynchronus and data updation is synchronus.
    3) it process multiple apllication while perfomaning validations.
    4) in session method data will be updated in data base only after processing session only.
    5) system provide by default logfile for handling error records.
    6) it supports both foreground aswell as background process
    in bdc we use FM ... bdc_open_group " for creating Session
    bdc_insert " adding transaction and bdcdata table for updating database
    bdc_close_group " for closing Session
          Call Transaction
    Call transaction exclusively for small amout of data
    2) it supports only one apllication while perfoming validations
    3) there is no default logfile, We can explicitly provide logic for creating logfile for handling error records.
    we can create logfile by using structure....BDCMSGCOLL
    4) it doesn't support background processing.
    5) data processing is synchronous and Data updation is Synchronous( default), in
    this method also supports daya updation in asynchronus process also.
    Syntax:
    Call transaction <transaction-name> using BDCDATA
    mode <A/N/E> update <L/A/S>
    messages into BDCMSGCOLL.
