Calling a web-service using JAX-WS client on the browser

Hi,
I created a basic web-service using netbeans/glassfish, which can be successfully called from a JavaFX application running stand-alone.
But when I try to run the same JavaFX application on a browser, the web-service call does not work, and it is hard to get any information on where it is failing.
I can see the error is a Throwable (not an Exception), but the message is null.
What are the restrictions on being able to call a webservice using the JAX-WS libraries? Are there security issues? I am not using the javafx HTTP libraries.
Also, if Java1.6u10 is available on the machine running the browser, do I still need to package all the JAX-WS libraries for the client?
Any help is appreciated, even if it is just about how to track down the problem.

Thank you very much for responding.
There was no error due to WebService. Actually, I was using xmlbeans and I did not put those xmlbeans jar files into appropriate place. That is what caused the problem. I have solved it now and it is working fine.
I put those xmlbeans jar files into my war file. It is working. Earlier, I had put them in tomcat 5.5's shared/lib directory. It was not working.
Thank you once again for replying.
Sasi.

  • Slow response when calling a web service from an ADF client in JDev 11g

    I have generated a web service (WS) for a stored procedure package with 3 functions. The WS has less than 1 second response times when I use the standard WS testing facility. I then created a data control for the WS selecting the default values in the JDev wizard. When I test the functions from a very basic ADF client the response times for the same functions are between 3-4 seconds i.e. very SLOW compared to the actual response time of WS. I need some advice on how to investigate this performance degredation as seen from the ADF client.
    Could the problem be that the data control was created from a web service in the same project? Maybe it is necessary to have them in separate projects or create a proxy?
    I created and tested the web service with the standard WS test tool and then simply went on to create a data control from this web service for use from a ADF client.
    Some background info:
    I saw the following warning in step 8 of the WS creation wizard:
    "The configured policy store location at "C:\Oracle\Middleware\jdeveloper\j2ee\home\gmds" is invalid. Application cannot read policies from this location. Check that the directory name is correct and the location exists."
    Also I can confirm that there is no j2ee directory in my environment.
    The application server logs the following for each call from the ADF client:

    Find solution. Check this thread:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/wdjava/faq%2b-%2bmodels%2b-%2badaptive%2bweb%2bservice
    The com.sap.tc.webdynpro.model.webservice.api.IWDWSInvocationModifier interface can be implemented by an application using the Adaptive Web Service model in order to modify the web service invocation object just before it's execution. Invocation modifiers need to be registered with the executable model class for which invocation is to be modified:
    Request_NumberToWords requestMO = new Request_NumberToWords(model);
    requestMO.wdSetInvocationModifier(
      new IWDWSInvocationModifier() {
        public void doModifyInvocation(Object port) {
          HTTPControlInterface httpItf = HTTPControlFactory.getInterface(port);
          //timeout for this WS invocation is 120 sec; don't use global config. setting of WS-Runtime
          httpItf.setSocketTimeout(120000);
        public void doModifyAfterInvocation() {}

  • How can I call a web service using JAVAscript in LCD

    hi guys,
         I know it can call a WSDL in LCD, but I have not any WSDL web service , and I have a REST web service ,how can I call this REST web service in LCD? I checked some documents and found nothing...if it's possible that it can call a REST web service using JAVAScript code, I mean I can program some code to call this web service ?
    thanks,
    Jesse

    Hi Jesse,
    You can do GET, PUT and POST using FormCalc, so you should be able to access a REST web service.
    There is a example of accessing a RSS feed in this thread, http://forums.adobe.com/message/5695433#5695433

  • Calling a web service using UTL_DBWS

    Hello,
    I am trying to call a web service froma PL/SQL procedure using UTL_DBWS. I've been able to use a different method to determine that the web service is working correctly, so I know my problem is somewhere within my UTL_DBWS call. It seems like my call to the web service is not authenticating correctly. What I would like to do is be able to take a look at the XML header that is created by UTL_DBWS based on the parameters I have supplied, in order to ensure that everything is correct. Does anyone know a way to do this?

  • Call MTOM web service using pl/sql (utl_http)

    Hi All,
    Is anyone able to call a MTOM web service using utl_http from pl/sql ?
    A typical request looks like this:
    --uuid:fd1fbed8-7042-4673-a304-becc1ffb037f+id=1
    Content-ID: <http://tempuri.org/0>
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit
    Content-Type: application/xop+xml;charset=utf-8;type="text/xml"
    <s:Envelope xmlns:s="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"><s:Body>......</s:Body></s:Envelope>
    uuid:fd1fbed8-7042-4673-a304-becc1ffb037f+id=1
    A microsoft C# tool is provided to generate some requests and using fiddler I can see the content type is in the header as well as in the request. In the requests it doesn't contain the UID. Connection is set to keep-alive, is that possible using pl/sql ?
    The part that builds the header looks like:
    l_http_request := UTL_HTTP.begin_request(url => 'http://' || l_host_name || ':' || l_port || '/CRUDService.svc', method => 'POST', http_version => 'HTTP/1.1');
    UTL_HTTP.set_header(l_http_request, 'Host', l_host_name || ':' || l_port);
    UTL_HTTP.set_header(l_http_request, 'SOAPAction', '"action"');
    UTL_HTTP.set_header(l_http_request, 'Content-Length', LENGTH(l_string_request));
    UTL_HTTP.set_header(l_http_request, 'Content-ID', '<http://tempuri.org/0>');
    UTL_HTTP.set_header(l_http_request, 'Content-Transfer-Encoding', '8bit');
    UTL_HTTP.set_header(l_http_request, 'Content-Type', 'multipart/related; type="application/xop+xml";start="<http://tempuri.org/0>";boundary="uuid:fd1fbed8-7042-4673-a304-becc1ffb037f+id=1";start-info="text/xml"');
    I've played with the request by adding or removing information, the http response is (400) "Bad Request - Invalid Header", so should be somewhere in the header? Anyone ideas?
    Kind regards,
    Michiel

    HI Michiel
    I am also trying to achieve something similar to that. I am trying to call a web service that sends an xml attachment over MTOM? Kindly, let me know if this was achievable from your end? I mean how did the issue got resolved.

    Thanks.

    I just ran into this issue, same exact problem.
    The quick and dirty workaround I did, after trying out several other things to make sure I didn't do anything wrong to cause this problem, was to just catch the nullpointer, and then go along my merry way.
    try{
         query.execute();
    catch(NullPointerException e){
         //we get a worthless error here from Webdynpro, so we just ignore it. Not pretty. But unavoidable
    If someone else has any other solution, I would love to hear them.

  • Calling soap web service using stub

    I have created a stub class from an existing BPEL process and want to write a small java client (ultimately to be used in a JSP).
    The problem is that the generated stub creates the calling method with an Element parameter instead of a string that the web service needs. I have been playing around with the org.w3c.dom.Element and oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLDocument classes to try to create an instance of Element to pass into the method but I'm having no success.
    Has anyone had the same problem? What's the best way to go about this?
    I'm using JDeveloper 10.1.2 and the BPEL is hosted on Apps Server 10.1.2.0.2

    Hi Sebastien,
    The wsclient sample loads only a minimal set of SOAP and related jar files to the database required to get the sample working. The SSL related classes may not get resolved correctly, but as the sample does not use these,
    you should still be able to proceed with the setup.
    Can you continue with the configuration steps and let me know if you still face any problems in bringing up the application ?

  • Calling a web service using a wsdl

    I am trying to access a web service from a button in Lifecycle Designer.  I have successfully done the following:
    1.  added a Data Connection that connects to the web service via a wsdl file
    2. dragged the request, response, and button items onto the form.  The button correctly reflects the web service location.
    When I enter data into the request boxes (which works from another place calling the web service) and click the button, I expect the call to the web service to return the response into the response text box, but nothing happens.  No error is reported.
    I have confirmed that the web service is “Document/Literal”.
    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Hi Amit
    We also have this issue with weblogic webservices. Did you get any resolution for this issue.
    When the service is executed for lesser number of hits, all the responses are processed properly. But as load (Number of hits for the same service) increases, few responses are failed to be parsed in the web service client. We could confirm that the producer responds with proper content type (text/xml)
    Any help or pointers will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    4. Created a program to access the consumer proxy by passing the input(same input as per XML). I am not getting the output in the proxy output structure ( but I can see the RFC is successfully executed and having the right values in the debugging mode).
    Is this the issue is due to the date fields (XML cannot consider a blank date )?
    Please note: the partner output table parameter in the bapi (output I am looking for ) is not having any date fields.
    Please help me to sort out this issue.
    Thanks,
    Gopi

    Hi Gopi,
    From your description, I assume you used the SE37 transaction's menu option Utilities -> More Utilities -> Create Web Service -> From the Function Module, to expose the BAPI concerned as a Web Service.
    If this is the case, then it is possible that you are falling foul of your SAP User ID not having the necessary Remote Function Call authorization to execute the BAPI.
    A prerequisite for successfully calling an RFC-enabled Function Module (which is what a BAPI is) is that the User ID used to call the function module must have the required RFC authorization (Authorization Object S_RFC).  For example, when calling function module BAPI_CUSTOMER_GET_ROOT, if the User ID lacks the requisite authorization in the target system, the following error message will be received by the Consuming application:
        User <User ID> has no RFC authorization for function group V02HBAPI.
    Notice, as you can see from the above message, RFC execution authorization is implemented at the Function Group level, not at the Function Module level.  In othere words, granting a user the authorization to a function group (authorization object S_RFC) enables the user to execute all RFC-enabled function modules contained within that function group.
    I am guessing the BAPI works for you in debug mode because you are not calling the BAPI remotely.
    Let me know if this helps.
    Best Regards,
    Andy.

  • Info path 2010 web service(getuserprofilebyname) not able connect in the browser mode

    Hi all,
    I have published the info path which will reterieve the current user using the getuserprofilebyname service. The service gets the current user when the form is opened in the info path filler after publishing. It shows the below error when I try to open the
    form in browser mode(I have changed the settings in the form -> AdvancedSettigns -> Open in browser). My form is browser enabled form.
    There has been an error while processing the form.
    Click OK to resume filling out the form. You may want to check your form data for errors.

    Weird thing is that I did not get this error on day1. On day 1 it was working fine. I am able to connect to the web service and get data. On day 2 when i tried open the form I got this error.
    We have 4 WFE , So I hope it is not due to loopbackcheck security feature.
    I checked in the central admin whether it is claim based web app or not. Its is not claim based web app.
    So any one guide me to get ride of this error.
    Thanks,
    Vaishali.

    Hi Vaishali,
    Please ensure the user encountered this issue has enough permission to access (or update) the data source you added to the InfoPath form.
    If you suspect the issue is caused by loopbackcheck security feature, then you could try to disable the
    DisableLoopbackCheck follow this KB on all SharePoint servers. And check if problem persists after reboot servers:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896861 .
    In addition, is there load balancer deployed in your environment which might bring double-hop authentication? This might cause the issue happens intermittently. If so, you could manually add entries in host files. For your reference:
