Calling Activex from Flex -- Downloading activex on client machine.

Hi,
I am buling a webapplication(RIA) in flex and hosting it in IIS. I need to call an activex from this web application. Also when I try to access the application from client machine , I should be able to download the activex on client through application.
Please provide any possible help.

Problem calling java from vb via activex bridge

I am trying to call java from vb via ActiveX Bridge and I am running into problems. I would appreciate any help.
I am using Visual Basic 2010 express, and Java JDK 1.6.0_16. I have used the http://download.oracle.com/javase/1.4.2/docs/guide/beans/axbridge/developerguide/index.html page as a guideline. To try to make it work I took the following steps:
1. Wrote a very simple java class (below):

2. After I compiled, and created the jar file. I built the dll using the following command:

3. I then registered using: regsvr32 axb.dll

For starters, when you create an ActiveX object from within VB, use:

The .dll file must be located in the JRE that is used at the time of calling. Meaning, the .dll file must be placed under <jre_home>\axbridge\bin and registered there.

ActiveX Bridge does not support passing literals or arrays. However, it does support passing java's primitive data types as Objects.

As a side note, the same idea applies when receiving data from Visual Basic.

I think this means that the source of the web service does
not have a crossdomain.xml file on it allowing access from your
site. Try adding one to the root of the server and see if that
fixes the problem.

Calling LabVIEW from C# Using ActiveX?

I try to call LabVIEW VI's from C# using ActiveX/COM, but I am not
successful. I was able to do this from C++ and there are nice articles on
the NI site dealing with the C++ integration.
I tried to follow the instructions of the C# help, using a wrapper for the
LabVIEW application call. I included the TypeLib that I created with the
tlbimp-tool in my project. Basically my code looks like this:

instead of 1 (the path).
What am I doing wrong? Does anybody have a working example on this?

After adding a reference to the LabVIEW type lib to the project (I just to o to Project >> Add Reference and I browse for the typelib myself), and including the labview namespace at the top,here is what I tried
using LabVIEW;

I am new to flex and started working on that.now i called one remote object from flex through blazeds.its working fine but when i call second time tomcat is shutdowing .again if i start tomcat it is working fine.

It's not quite what I was looking for, but it gave me some ideas.
The blog post describes how to create your own server to handle the file stream. With BlazeDS & Java EE app server there's no need to implement the low level stuff.
One option would be to read the data on Flex side in chunks and make a request to send each chunk at a time, but I don't know whether this helps at all. Might just slow down the network.
Another option is to write a custom adapter for BlazeDS endpoint, but I don't know enough details on this to say is it possible or not.
Third option is to use regular servlet code and Apache Commons FileUpload module.
Still interested hearing opinions from people working with BlazeDS.

Let's assume I have two mxml files.
The mxml file2 contains HTTPService which is called in a ViewStack from file1.
When ViewStack is set to file2 for the second time (to update datagride), createComplete in file2 is not being called. So, no HTTPService is called when ViewStack is set to file2 for the second time.

Calling Javascript from Flex through FAB

What's the standard way of calling JavaScript functions from
Flex through the FA Bridge?
i.e. is there a new way other than navigateToURL or
ExternalInterface.call()
Most of the examples I've seen are scripting Flex from
JavaScript, not the other way around.

Hello,
You need to register the JavaScript function as a callback to
a Flex action. You can do this from javascript in a function that
gets called when the flash movie has finished loading. Then, when
the Flex event is triggered it will execute the JavaScript
function.

How to call ejb from a Swing gui application client?

I am new to EJB and I have question for calling an ejb from a Swing GUI application client. Can anyone give me an example of how my Swing GUI can call an EJB from a SUN ONE Application Server. If anyone can give me some insight, I appreciate it.

I have looked up various sources and just can't get it to work. I know I have to use the lookup() method, but I have also seen lookups using IIOP://servename......

I would really appreciate if someone can give an example of a Swing GUI calling a ejb from an application server and how the code is actually doing the lookup in and what are each steps it goes through.

Stopping msql.exe from gettig downloaded to the client

Hi,
I do no want users to query the Oracle Lite Database using msql, so i need to block it on the client machines or in other words i want to stop it from getting downloaded to client. I tried removing msql.exe entry from wtg.inf file, but still the exe is getting downloaded to client.
I also want to hide DM in systray at the client end.
Please guide me on this!

Look at the win32.inf.
BTW, if they are savvy enough to use SQL, they might be savvy enough to use some other tools as well.
If you need security, just make sure your constraints are replicated to the client and your disabled DML is correct for the client tables.

Launching EAS from URL not working on client machine.

We are on version 11.1.1.4. When I use EAS URL on the server it is working fine. But when I use from a different machine other than the server it is not working, after selecting the "locale country" and clicking launch button it is giving the following error. i checked the java version also and client machine is on 1.6. I also tried on different IE versions. But from the same client machine I am able to connect through the installed version of EAS.
Is something I need to open ports or anything like that. Please let me know your suggestions or comments.

Shiva -- Java version on the server and the client machine is same which is 1.6.0_24.
That is good point about the network. Actually the client and the server are not in the same network but I opened ports on the network router as well as I disabled windows firewall on the server to make sure it is not creating the problem.

Not able to call Java from flex using RemoteObject

I am badly stuck in compiling my flex app to connect to Java code on the server side using LCDS remoteObject component.

actually , I have laready given print stataement for the data in the context property file that you can see in the output. Today I am also able to call the bpel process using the same java program from my DOS command promt(cmd). Don't understand why the problem is occuring in unix.

Call JSFL from Flex Air application

Hi,
I have a Flex Air application that converts old style flash
text var txt files into XML. As part of the process it creates a
jsfl file that when run will automate through older FLAs and
upgrade them with changes required.
My question is this. Using the command
fl.runScript(locationOfJSFLscript) in flash, it will automatically
call the script and execute it. How do I do the same in Flex? i.e.
I have a button in the application. I press it and it sends the
call to run the script.

On click download file to client machine via browser

I am J2EE beginner. I am trying to write a simple JSP application which allows users to download a file. I mean on the home page a file link should be visible to uses and when any one clicks on it, it prompt for downloading or just directly starts downloading on the users computer.
for this i have search through internet but could not get simple solution. Some people say that just put the file into anchors and u r done. But it is not working correctly.

Launching transactions from Flex

    I am working with flex builder3. I want to launch a transaction whenever i click on a button by passing some parameters.
     I tried creating a shortcut and launching it. It works fine but doesn't server the purpose.

from flex if you want to call a SAP transaction in, say system mysapsystem, then if you are ok with SAPGUI for HTML and your mysapsystem is on WAS6.40 , you can use integrated ITS. for example to call se38 from flex, all you have to do is call a url like below from flex.
http://<abaphostname>.<domain>.com:<port>/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui?~transaction=se38
