Calling another view in same window
Hi Expertzz,
I am new in WebDynpro.I am developing an application in which i am facing an issue regarding Windows and Views.
I have a window and a main view. How can i call another views in the same window without disturbing my main view..

The methods in a view are only accessible inside same view. you cannot call it outside the view or
in any other view although its in same component.
If you want to have a method in both views, then create the method in component controller and
from there you can access the method any where in whole component. -

that doesnt limit you to a form submit
button. Remember that jsp is just a
way of getting a servlet to send dynamic
html back to a browser as a response.
So in that case, anything you include
on the .jsp page that's not surrounded by
the declaration, expression, directive or
scriplet tag will be will be included in the
response sent. This includes regular html
and also javascript. So why not use js!
The following code lets you open any type
of file (including .jsp) in any sort of window
that you want:
function newWindow (jspPage){
popup=window.open(jspPage,"","toolbar=yes,menubar=no,width=600,height=400,resizable=yes,scrollbars=yes")
Then on your page you put a link such as:
Click here for new window
This is set up to work with a link but you can also have

Place this code before the button element:

It is not required, nor good, to set the JavaScript: protocol, as this is implicitly done already in browser. Otherwise, perfect example! -
QT Playlist, or Run movies one afther another in same window maybe?
What am i missing here?
Is it possible that QT can't open and run more movies and play it one after another in the same window?
Let's say if i dont want to use VLC or any other player, or PlayList plug inn's etc... (they are ugly ) and want to go to my movies, select two new movie trailers, want to show it, par example, to friend, and clik "open" ,"open with QT" or cmnd+O, whatsoever...but what happens? I get 2 movie windows on desktop. But i want to watch one (or many as i want) trailers after another, and got less desktop space used... :S

You would need to give the movie container a name so that you can access it from JavaScript, and you have the added problem of needing to control the QuickTime object from JavaScript. Have a look at the QuickTime JavaScript API; it might be helpful:

In spite of the code on that gallery page I linked above, I really don't speak JavaScript, and I barely understand how my own code works. But I think JavaScript will allow you to do what you want to do, and you can probably even write a custom controller for the movie right into your web page.

Problem in calling standard view in nested view container

We have a standard SAP component in which there is view containing a TABStrip. In one of the tabs there is a View container. This view container calls another view containing a view container, which in turn calls another standard view of standard component SALV_WD_TABLE. The whole structure is as below:
MAIN(View)->VC_container1(view container)->View1(called view)->VC_Container2(View container in called view)->Table(standard view of SALV_WD_TABLE).
Now we are trying to add one more tab in the same tabstrip and trying to call the the same TABLE view of component SALV_WD_TABLE in the same manner described above. It is allowing us to add the view but when we are activating the enhancement the standard view TABLE of component SALV_WD_TABLE gets disappeared. Can anybody suggest what to do.

My Ques is that are your using the same component usage of salv_wd_table for the Second tab you have added.
Because you are using the component usage of salv_wd_table already in the first tab. So when you are goinig to use the same component usage for the second tab then this problem might will happn i.e. the table is disappeared in the second tab.

Opening a view from another view of the same window in diff Browser.

My requirement is to open a view (say view 2) from another view (say view 1) with click of a button in a different browser, both the views are embedded into the same window, and also i have to pass some data from view1 to view2, based no the input data, i am displaying some information. Also both views belog to the same component.

Call the GET_API to get a handle to window manager.
The new window can show V2.
The original Window with 2 views,
must fire plug to navigate v2 to empty view to hide it from Window1.
The to Views talk to one another via WDC Controller.
View 2 calls WDC controller methods. The WDC controller the fires Event.
View 1 can listen to this event with a method of type event handler.
View 1 can for example react to button on View 2 and close WINDOW 2.

I guess by launching you mean substituting one view by another. It can be achieved by declaring a navigational link in the runtime repository from one view to another. You have to create an event handler on the button and outbound plug in your view using the wizard. Then, on the event handler you call an outbound plug where you trigger a navigation using this navigational link and the view A will be replaced by view B.
A code which needs to be done in outbound plug:
me->view_manager->navigate(
source_rep_view = me->rep_view
outbound_plug = 'NAVLINKNAME'
data_collection = iv_data_collection ).

Then in PBO of the popup screen take a new GUI status and select DIALOG BOX as status type.

1) You can make the method EH_ONSELECT as public and static and call this method in viewGS_CM/ADDDOC using syntax
impl class name of view GS_CM/DOCTREE=>EH_ONSELECT "method name.
or
2)The view GS_CM/ADDDOC which contains EH_ONSELECT method has been already enhanced, so I can't execute such kind of operation one more time.
or
3)If both views or viewarea containing that view are under same window , then you can get the instance ofGS_CM/DOCTREE from view GS_CM/ADDDOC through the main window controller.
lr_window = me->view_manager->get_window_controller( ).
lv_viewname = 'GS_CM/DOCTREE '.
lr_viewctrl ?= lr_window ->get_subcontroller_by_viewname( lv_viewname ).
Now you can access the method of view GS_CM/DOCTREE .

Navigate from one iview to another and open in the same window
Hi,
I created two iviews with Visual Composer 7.0 SP8.
In the first iview I create a button with hyperlink action, that call the URL of the second iview. The two iviews are in separates pages.
The problem is that the second iview is open in a different window, and I want to open this iview in the same window. I changed the propertie start in new window with "show in the portal content", but It is still open in another window.
How can I open the second iview in the same window?

Now the problem is that I can not deploy the second iview in the portal.

I try to open up another webpage on the same window, by clicking on the + Tab Button next to the current webpage Im viewing. For some reason it will not do anything. It will not open up.
