Calling BAPI using ECATT

Can some body please advice me on the method of how to call a BAPI/FM using ECATT?. I searched in SCN/SDN but to no avail.

Error while calling BAPI_PARTNEREMPLOYEE_CREATE BAPI using JCO

Hi All,
Our requirement is to create and update customer contact details from java application. For this purpose we are trying to call BAPI_PARTNEREMPLOYEE_CREATE BAPI for create contact and BAPI_PARTNEREMPLOYEE_EDIT for updating contact information. As these BAPIs are of online version, error is coming while calling these BAPIs.
So is there any way to call these BAPIs through JCO or are there any alternative BAPIs available for same purpose?

Hi,
All the bapi or function module available in SAP to create contact person will internally do a call transaction to VAP1 and VAP2 tcodes in order to create or change contact person respectively.
We had a similar problem when we were creating and updating customer contact person using inbound idoc. We then created a bdc recording for the same and then created two function module with name Z_CREATE_CONTACT and Z_CHANGE_CONTACT. In your case you can make this function modules as RFC enabled FM and call them using JCO I guess.

Call BAPI directly or use bus object types

Hi,
A quick question.
At a customer, I need to create a targetgroup in a CRM system from an ABAP program
I found that there exists the standard business object type BUS1185, what in fact has several methods which call BAPI functions ( for example BAPI_TARGETGROUP_CREATE )
My question is know what is the best way to create the targetgroup, call the BAPI directly or use the object type ( via include <CNTN01> and the macro's SWC...

the only reason for using the BO macro's in regular ABAP programming, is if you want to emulate workflow behaviour, or if extra logic of the business object is needed (for instance if you have to know the content of several (virtual) attributes)). In the last case you also have to instantiate the BO.
Other than that, just use the BAPI.

Using the container format to call BAPIs

I'm trying to call BAPIs with the SWO_CREATE and SWO_INVOKE RFC's, and having a difficult time getting the container marshalled correctly. Can anyone supply or point me to information about marshaling arguments in the container?

I have seen your question for the container format to call BAPI and could not find any replies or any kind of information regarding the container marshalling on the web. I am having a simillar problem when invoking the SWO_INVOKE, i am passing a container and it gives me a error saying "packed field with incorrect BCD format" and i am trying to find some kind of solution for this, if you had a some kind of solution or guidance that would be great.

How to perform auth check on Web Service calling BAPI in R/3 via XI?

Hi all,
We are running Net weaver PI 7.0 SPS11 and 4.6C R/3 and working on proof-of-concept project using BAPIs exposed on XI as Web Services and called from external SOAP client (MS SharePoint). We got it working fine with HTTPS and SOAP protocol as Sender and RFC Adapter as Receiver to R/3.
Now we want to add authentication and authorization to this scenario...authentication will probably be SSO and SSL/HTTPS, but we are wondering how to handle authorizations in R/3? RFC Adapter channel is configured with system user, so once BAPI is called this use runs transactions in R/3 and in R/3, where the authorization is checked, we have no visibility which user requested Web service
Is there any way we could extract user is from HTTP header and have it dynamically used in RFC Adapter channel config? Or maybe there is another way to handle this?
Any insights how to resolve this issue will be greatly appreciated.

We found solution, PP can be configured on XI to have user running transaction known on R/3 backend system, so authorizations can be invoked.

HTTP to RFC (Calling BAPI)

I am working on creating a Purchase Order in SAP system by calling BAPI's from XI using RFC adapter.
I defined the following in IR:
1. Created data types for mapping with BAPI request and response.
2. Created messsage types and assigned corresponding data types to the message types.
3. Created one Message Interface (Outbound/Synchronous), Output message - request message type, Input message - response message type.
4. Create request and response message mapping and one Inteface mapping (with request tab and response tab) properly assigned.
Defined the following in ID:
1. Created HTTP business system (no communication channel)
2. Created communication channel for receiving system (SAP).
3. Created receiving determination and interface determination, receiver agreement, no sender agreement.
I sent XML message (required data to create purchase order) from HTTP client but I am getting the response as <b>Unable to determine name of mapping program</b>, my Interface Determination has proper Inbound Interface (ZBAPI_PO_CREATE) and Mapping program (PO_I_MAP). But Why am I getting the reposnse as I said above in my HTTP client?

The error lies in Message Mapping .So please check it once again .You have mentioned your steps it seem there is problem in Message mapping..
Please look at the following Steps..
IR:
1.Import Corresponding RFC(BAPI). No need to create Interface Objects( Data type, Message type,Message Interface ) for SAP( RFC ) system..
2.Create Interface Objects For HTTP System.As you told it is synchronous.
3.Perform Two Message Mappings
(A).HTTP Request <--> RFC Req
(B).RFC Response<-->HTTP Res
4.Perform one Interface Mapping which includes Request and Response Mappings ..
5.Activate all objects..
ID : what you have done is ok..
URL: http://<hostname:port>/<path>?<query-string> Make sure your URL is correct or not for( sender HTTP )..

In the proxy before calling the BAPI, construct the table, fill it with the appropiate values by lopping over the proxy request object. Now use this table for calling BAPI

Call BAPI in Web Dynpro

I want to call a BAPI using web Dynpro.
In my case, the BAPI without input parameter, it only give out a out table after execute.
So that I include this Bapi in the model and directly call it in wdDoInit like this :
wdContext.nodeZbapi_Outvendor_Input().currentZbapi_Outvendor_InputElement().modelObject().execute();
wdContext.nodeZbapi_Outvendor_Input().invalidate();
However, no any result can see. Anybody could tell me what is the correct way to call BAPI in WD?

Hi,
Don't invalidate the zbapi node...
If your output can be recieved from the node say.., output from the bapi side and you mapped it to controller to node say OutVend...
Then use this code
wdContext.nodeOutVend().bind(wdContext.nodeZbapi_Outvendor_Input().currentZbapi_Outvendor_InputElement().modelObject().getOutput());
Any queries revert back.
If this is not working post your context structure in your reply and tell where you are expect the output

How to set the tables parameter to a BAPI using adaptive RFC model

I have a BAPI ZBAPI that has a tables parameter ZPernr of type ZTable with two elements pernr and name.
I used adaptive RFC model and created model classes for the BAPI.
My question how do i set list of pernr and name to the tables parameter in the webdynpro for java.
I have the following methods available
ZBAPI input = new ZBAPI();
1.ZTable table = new ZTable();
table.setPernr(pernr);
table.setname(name);
input.addZPernr(table);
how do i set the table parameter for multiple pernr and name
2.
add all the pernr and name to list and set that list to input in the following way
input.setZPernr(list) and list of typecom.sap.aii.proxy.framework.core. AbstractList
out of two methods mentioned which one is correct.
Please let me know the solution

pernrList should be declared as the type of class HROBJECT   ( The structure name in the model e.g. the node PERFWARN type is Zhrecmfm_002_Perfrat_Warning_Input )
Try this:
