Calling ejb through tomcat.

how to call ejb2.0 weblogic with tomcat.or JBoss
plz tell me how i use initial context object to call remote interface.
i m using
Properties p=new Properties();
p.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,"org.jnp.interfaces.NamingContextFactory");
p.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL,"localhost:1099");
Context ctx=new InitialContext(p);
it will throw exception i.e
RequestTimeOut

you just change like this and try it
Properties p=new Properties();
p.put("java.naming.factory.initial","org.jnp.interfaces.NamingContextFactory");
p.put("java.naming.provider.url","jnp://localhost:1099");
Context ctx=new InitialContext(p);

  • Web Sphere let me call EJB through the firewall.

    Finally I found some light on my problem related to the firewall.
    Seems like the web Sphere gives you the option to specify the port for the application server to communicate with the client. Can I do similar stuff with Sun Application server? Or I ask our customer to use web logic instead?
    http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wasinfo/v4r0/topic/com.ibm.support.was.doc/html/EJB_Container/1008407.html
    Let me know if this can be easily done with the application server configuration.

    Configuring the IIOP listener from the administration interface is possible in Sun application serverThis let you configure the initial port when ejb client connects to the application server but not the port the as talks back to the client.

  • Call ejb from browsers

    Hello Developers!
    I deployed my ejb to OAS4081. I call that
    from JDeveloper so it good. But when I try
    to call from applet in IExpl5 I can't
    instantiate the ORB. I've got a com.ms.security.SecurityException : oracle.oas.orb.CORBA.ORB.init
    I coded the CLASSPATH(oasoorb(yoj),client,
    ejbapi...) perfectly, I think.
    If anybody could help, please...
    Thanx!

    Hi there,
              I saw someone on this group had a problem to locate proper classpath
              to call EJB from JSP. I thought if you call EJB from classpath, you are
              calling the bean. But you loss all the EJB functions. To be able to utilize
              EJB features like object pooling. You need to call it from Weblogic server
              using url/jndi, not from the jar directly.
              Any comment? Am I right?
              BTW, my question about calling EJB from JSP means calling through URL,
              not a local path.
              Thank you

    You might want to look at using a Java Bean wrapper, this can be done automically using WebSphere. It creates what is called an access bean which the JSP imports.

    Hi guys!
    I was able to reach JNDI-Namespace and EJBs in WebSphere with a TestProgramm. It was a simple class, that tries to access it.
    WebSphere ships some batch-files to start Clients, that want access WebSphere-JNDI. These batches call a com.ibm...WSLauncher class, that calls the "own class" (my TestProgramm) by invokation.
    I tried the same with Tomcat and edited the batches accordingly. I found out, that WSLauncher uses his own Classloader. AND TomCat uses his ownt too. Furthermore TomCat ignores some system-properties (like classpath, if set).
    The occurring problem is, that the com.ibm....InitialFactory cant be instanciated (cause TomCat Classloader tries to, but only WS-Classloader is able to). (By the way - imho its imossible to reach WS-JNDI via another CtxFactory than the one from WS itself)
    Just for people who are interressted :-)
    Anyway - each suggestion would be welcome ^^

  • Referencing an EJB through ASP Pages

    How can I call an EJB through ASP.
    I think Weblogic supports this by wrapping the Java Class into a COM Object,
    but I am not certain.
    I also know that Sun has the Java CAS COM Bridge, but someone mentioned that
    it doesnt work in WL.

    Hi Daniel,
    The Oracle9iAS Migration Kit for ASP will allow you to deploy your existing ASP application to Oracle9iAS.
    Once deployed to Oracle9iAS the migrated application is a Java servlet application. Therefore you could deploy that to your Portal like any other J2EE application.
    The Oracle9iAS Migration Kit for ASP is free and officially supported by Oracle Support.
    You can download the product and find out more information here: http://otn.oracle.com/tech/migration/asp/content.html

  • Calling EJB from applet

    Hi friends,
    I have a problem of caling EJB from applet.that too from browser.
    Through dos prompt,I am able to set the classpath and then open the applet and then call the EJB.but thru browser i am encontering two problems,
    First,The codebase of applet is not being set and i am unable to view the applet.
    Second,my Initial Context Factory is not being found it is giving error as
    Cannot instantiate class: com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory.I am using oracle app server Oc4j2.
    can any one help me out.
    i am able to get output thru dos prompt where i can set classpath

    kyren,
    he has used something called HTML ConvertersDepends on the version of the plug-in you are using.
    (I'm sorry, but I couldn't find that detail in any of your posts!)
    You have to use the (HTML) converter with java version 1.3 (for example), but you don't have to with java version 1.4.
    thru my jbuilder version i am able to solve my
    problem.
    but thru browser,i am first of all not able to
    display applet.That's because "JBuilder" uses the appletviewer to display the applet (and not a browser).
    I Think for normal displaying applet we don't need of
    signed or unsigned applet.when calling ejb we may
    require.As Anupama has stated, the "codebase" attribute of the applet tag must be relative to the directory where the HTML file (containing the "applet" tag) is located. Where I work, we also use the "archive" attribute that tells the applet where to download the JAR files from. In order to lookup your ejb from your applet, you need (at least) the "oc4jclient.jar" file.
    By the way, if you want your name to appear next to your posts (instead of your ID number), you need to update your profile. Click on the "Forum Settings" link at the top of the (Web) page.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • How can I fix my phone's ringer? The call comes through but it won't ring.

    I've had my iPhone for over 6 months now with no issues. I have not had it reserviced, its not refurbished, and I bought it new from an AT&T store.
    This week my phone stopped ringing. The incoming call comes through on the screen, but it doesn't ring out loud so I know I'm getting a call and I can't sit and stare at my iPhone's screen all day long to see if I'm getting an incoming call. It vibrates when a call comes in maybe 20% of the time.
    Today I went into settings and reset my settings but it still didn't bring my ringer back. It plays the ringers when you are looking through the list of ringers, it plays it when you alter the volume setting, but when a call is actually coming in or when I'm receiving a text message or something, no sound.
    What can I do to get my ringer back?

    Check the mute switch on the side above the volume rocker. If the red dot shows, the phone is muted. You'll still be able to play the ringtones to select one.
    I find that the switch can be thrown to "mute" by accident when I put my iPhone in my belt holster.

  • WDP calling EJB and passing objects of classes from Java project

    Hi.
    We have <b>Java</b> project which contains some classes common for all projects (like xxx.Version).
    We have <b>EJB</b> project which defines EJB interface using these common classes (like getVersion(String,int): xxx.Version and getCurrency(String,xxx.Version,int):xxx.Currency ).
    We have <b>Web Dynpro</b> project which calls EJB:
    1. Lookup is successful
    2. call to getVersion is successful
    3. call to getCurrency fails with <b>NoSuchMethodException</b>:
    xxx.XXXObjectImpl0.getCurrency(java.lang.String, xxx.Version, int)
         at java.lang.Class.getMethod(Class.java:986)

    How can I set dependencies to get this running?
    Thanks to all
           Volker

    Hi,
    Is it available in the interface you are using..
    If the answer is yes.. you might have probably forgotten to deploy the EJBs ear file after making the changes..
    Rebuild it.. and deploy the EJB s ear file again..
    It will solve the problem.. If that also does not work,it might be a problem with the cache.. restart the server..
    It should work now !

  • Call Transaction Through RFC

    Hi ,
    I am trying to do a call transaction through RFC call from a Middleware which is a CPIC user (only communication Non dialog User ) .
    Call  transaction does gets executed without any error but it does not update any data.But when I run it through my user id it works absolutely fine .
    I am not sure what is causing the issue
    Security authorization?
    RFC through Non Dialog user ?
    Paramters missing in RFC  ?
    Paramatertes missing in call transaction option?
    If anyone of you has faced a similiar issue then please let me know the path forward.
    Thanks
    Vikas

    Hi Vikas,
        The problem is in Authorization? And check the mode of Process Synchoronus or asynchoronous? Both the RFC and CALL transaction should be Same /
    Thanks
