You cannot create a function with a locally defined return type. As soon as this script is executed, Oracle no longer knows what the TOKEN_TYPE type is any more, so the function will be invalid.
You need to use a collection type defined at the database level or defined in a package - somewhere where it will persist.

Xdk: calling java function with a CharSequence parameter

When using xdk version 10.1.0.2.0_production, you can not call a javamethod with a CharSequence parameter.

This prevents us from calling a method like
java.util.regex.Pattern.matches(String, CharSequence)
Converting the parameter to a normal string would solve the problem.
Example to illustrate the issue:

Calling c function that return a string

I found an example for calling void c function(http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/1513). I could adapt the example and make the function return an integer. the code of the adapted function would look like this:

But I have problems when I want to return a string. Does someone knows how I should do. I tried:

but won't compile.

yes the question was more a c question then a labview question. I found the solution anyway, the correct code in order to get string is:

I have a requirement to {color:#0000ff}create a java object in JavaFX script code{color}. Then call a java function using the created java object. The java function returns hashtable. Then traverse through each element of hashtable. Finally I need to create a similar structure in JavaFX.

If you need to use a Java class that uses generics you need to take special steps. Since JavaFX does not support generics you need to create a java wrapper to hide the calls that use generics and call the wrapper class from FX.

I was able to connect using JAVA Connector which was provided by SAP For communicating with JAVA Apps. The approach for connecting the JAVA to SAP is working fine. But I have browsed through various website but failed to find any information.Now i am looking forward to help from you friends to solve my problems .

Function with return type boolean

I have created a function with return type boolean as:

What is the parameter signature for DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line() ?
Is is string - as detailed in Oracle® Database PL/SQL Packages and Types Reference guide.
So how can you pass a boolean data type as parameter value, when the parameter's data type is string?
PL/SQL supports implicit data conversion. So you can for example pass a number or date value to DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line() - and the PL/SQL engine automatically (and implicitly) converts that (using the TO_CHAR() functions) to a string.
However, the TO_CHAR() parameter signature supports number and date - not boolean. It cannot convert a boolean value into a string.
So passing a boolean value means the implicit conversion fails - and results in the above error.
To make it work, you need to perform an explicit conversion. As as a data type conversion function from boolean to string is not available, you need to write a user defined function. E.g.

1)Which copy of your class is loaded in the DB ( it seems that you have two different classes JShell and TestJShell ).
2)Do you have permisions for file manipulation ?
3)Do you get any errors ?

you might need some more privileges to interact with the system from inside oracle.
I don't know what those are but I had to give privs to a user to open a socket from java.
exec dbms_java.grant_permission( 'MIS_ADMIN', 'SYS:java.net.SocketPermission', 'localhost', 'resolve' ) ;
This allowed the jsp to use localhost. You might need to find a similar permission to grant.

Call Java functions in a C DLL

I am develop a dynamic link library in C on AIX that will internally call java functions using JNI. This libaray will be finally used by other C Executable.
There is only one function in C code i.e. Connect. This function internally use JNI and call java functions. Now while compiling I am facing problems. I think that there is some problem with my makefile.

In PL/SQL function can be used just about anywhere where an expression (with the same data type that the function returns). Arpit gave a very common example.
Here's another example, where all the functions take a single NUMBER argument and return a NUMBER, so they can all be used in places where NUMBERs are used:
IF fun_a (fun_b (0)) < fun_c (1)

    UPDATE table_x
    SET     column_y = fun_d (2)
    WHERE   column_z = fun_e (ROUND ((fun_f (3), fun_g (4)));You call a function simply by using its name, followed by its argument list, if any.
If the function is in a package, you must call it with the package name, like "pk_foo.bar (1, 2, 3)", unless the call comes from within the same package.
If the function is owned by someone else, you must give the owner name, like "scott.bar (SYSDATE)" or "scott.pk_foo.bar (1, 2, 3)". You can create synonyms to avoid having to name the owner.
