Calling out via Skype Handset - connection problem...
All help gratefully received! I have Skype on iPad and on a desktop PC which both work just fine with my Skype number, loads of credit on the account, good internet connection here in Turkey. I also have Skype handsets (GE 31591 twinset) in the house and for some reason these will receive incoming calls but will not connect my outgoing calls.
I have tried a complete power down and reset but not fixed the issue.
Any ideas?

It looks to me logical that this possibility would be incorporated in the SPA 3102, looking to all the other user options. Are there other (Linksys) devices that can provide this service in combination with the PSTN and SIP-line?
What would you suggest as “solution” or what does other user do to avoid this problem? It’s rather unprofessional when a client is calling that you can’t answer, because you’re on the line even you’re in the office and you can’t mention it to your client. Is there a possibility to forward manually the client on the PSTN to a mailbox or to a busy tone record? I can always put a mailbox after a few rings, so the client can’t wait too long. Is there a possibility to take the second line and leave the first on hold (asterix codes?).
For the second issue I will check it with the local regulator BIPT. Witch fields are important to adapt to local settings.
Indeed it’s an analog phone with a card reader. It’s not clear to me whether the phone is dialing a telephone number to load the card. If you put in the card, the phone ask you to put in the pin (you don’t need to call a number – but this can be done automatically). Patched on my PSTN line it worked properly. Thanks!

As I wrote earlier, WS_TEST is my user into which I load JAX-RPC client. Note that, if you load JAX-RPC client into user another than SYS, you have NOT to use -s -grant public option (wassam wrote about this too). Another thing is that I (finally) didn't load OC4J. To consume WebService I use utl_dbws.invoke(call_Handle CALL, request SYS.XMLTYPE) function.

Skype number connection problems
I have recently purchased a Skype number, but calls to this number are not connecting with my MacBook Pro. Instead callers are being asked to leave a voice message. My Skype number is registered in Australia but I am currently in The Netherlands and have a strong WIFI connection. Someone has told me I need a mobile phone connection as well in order for my Skype number to work, but I don't understand why this is necessary. One of the reasons I purchased a Skype number was to avoid the necessity for having to have a mobile phone connection as well. I would appreciate any help or suggestions available.

As long as you are signed on to Skype, it does not matter whether you are signed on using a data plan or WiFi. Please review this FAQ article to ensure that settings are correct as often a simple settings change does the trick:

If you are still not receiving calls to your Skype Number, then the next step is to please contact Skype Customer Service to request the number be tested.

Can´t make calls out of Skype desktop
I have just topped up my acct and when I try to make any calls, from either my contact list or either by typing in a new number the little green phone button at the bottom doesn´t light up...it just stays gray and it won´t let me dial out. I also cannot send SMS messages either. I have a susbscription to unlimited calls to the US as well as a $10 credit to unlimited calls to anywhere. All of factors are accounted for in the trouble shooting guide so I dn´t know what is going on. Also I just followed all the instructions correctly as to uninstalling and reinstalling SKYPE and it did not work. All the files and inforamation are still present in my account even though I did not save any files. PLEASE HELP!

Call phone and xfinity wifi connection problems
My galaxy tablet works fine on Home Xfinity WiFi, but both Galaxy S5 and S6 cell phones get " Authenticatin error" with the very same correct password. We reset the modem a few time, reset phones many times - Still won't work. 3 trips to T-Mobile - phones will work with secured wifi at t-Mobile, but not xfinity! HELP?!!!

reset my network settings and reset phone a billion times already, same issue still occur. sometimes the phone will wake up with wifi and sometimes it will go to 3g, one time it went to GPRS, its just really bizarre. If i open safari it will ask if i want to join the network that i originally set up, but when i select the network it just says "unable to connect". If i just leave the phone be for a couple hours and wake it up again, it will rejoin the wifi network.
I use remote to control my music library, but if my phone goes to sleep, it won't reconnect again so it's basically useless.

A person called me via Skype who said he was from New Zealand. I noticed that his area code reported on my phone was upper New York State or Toronto, Canada. Is it possible that Skype uses a Canada phone number for people calling from thousands of miles away? Is Skype headquartered in Canada?

Troubleshoot WRT54GS - WRT54GL connection problem.
Here's the setup I had until recently: DSL -> (via wire) -> WRT54GS -> (via wire) -> WRT54GL -> (via wireless) -> computer. Basically the GL was an access point. Unfortunately yesterday this stopped working for some reason, so I did a hard reset on the router (30 seconds holding down the reset button), and I haven't been able to restore it. I've tried to do so via the following steps:
1) Make sure only my laptop and power are plugged into the GL via a LAN port (and the power port).
2) Uncheck all the boxes in the firewall section.
3) Disable the built in firewall.
4) *Apply Settings*
5) Under setup, click on "advanced routing" and change it to "router" mode.
6) *Apply Settings*
7) Under basic setup, disable DHCP.
8) Assign the router an IP address that's not in the GS's DHCP range (192.168.0.2).
9) Adjust the time settings on the GL.
10) Unplug my laptop from the GL.
11) Plug the GS cable into the GL via a LAN port, not the WAN port.
12) Plug my laptop into the GL to test it via a LAN port.
Here's what I do to test it (with laptop (wire) -> gl (wire) -> gs (wire) -> dsl):
1) See if I can get a DHCP assignment from the GS on the laptop. So far I've been unable to do this. However, the GS's DHCP table (Status -> Local Network -> DHCP Clients Table) says it can not only see the laptop but it has assigned it a DHCP entry.
2) See if I can ping the GS, GL or another computer on the network from the laptop via a wired connection. So far I've been unable to do this.
3) See if I can ping the GL or the laptop from a desktop connected wirelessly to the GS. So far I've been unable to do this.
4) When this fails, swear (it's cathatric at least), do a "hard reset" on the router by holding the rest button down for 30 seconds, and start over at the top.
(Please note: at this point the only active wireless is the GS. The wireless on the GL is disabled.)
I've tried the above steps three times and it hasn't worked. The only other thing I can think of is configure the GL to work in place of the GS and see if I can get a wired connection from my dsl. DSL -> (wire) GL-> (wire) Laptop.
I don't know what else to try...does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Go to Solution.Thank you for your suggestion, Carrot, but that didn't help. I reset the GL, power cycled it, and set it with the following settings:
1) All firewall options disabled, firewall disabled.
2) Wireless disabled, ssid disabled. I'm just trying to get this thing to work as a switch for now, after all.
3) Router changed to "router" mode instead of "gateway" mode.
4) IP address set to 192.168.0.2, which is out of the GS's dhcp pool (192.168.0.100 - 149).
5) DHCP disabled on the GL.
6) Timezone set accordingly.
I was unable, again, to get a DHCP assignment on the laptop when plugged in by cable to the GL, which is plugged into the GS. (laptop (via wire) -> gl (via wire) -> gs) I was also unable to ping anything, including the GL, even when plugged directly into it.
Here's what makes me say "what the heck is going on:" If I try to ping the GL, at 192.168.0.2, from a desktop connected wirelessly to the GS (so...desktop (wireless) -> gs (wire) -> gl), Windows spits a "request timed out" back at me. If I try to ping 192.168.1.1, something replies with a 60ms response time.
Out of curiosity, I ran a tracert from that same desktop to the GS, and it came back in 1 hop. I also ran a tracert from this same computer to another computer, and it came back in 1 hop. I finally ran a tracert from the desktop to this "192.168.1.1" and it went out via my internet connection (it listed two ISP related hops) and found...something. So what the heck does that mean?
All I can think of at this point is set up the GL to take over for the GS and swap routers and see what happens.
Here's a thought: Is it possible I just need to power cycle the GS?

Accidently drove over Iphone 5. Screen is completely gone but phone works to call out via SIRI. Of course I cannot download to itunes as I have a passcode lock. Would like to save my information, contacts and photos. Any help or ideas would help!!!

No matter who calls me on Skype the caller ID show...
When someone calls my phone using Skype, the caller ID pops up as one person (my ex gf). However it always appears as this number no matter who calls me via Skype. The only commonality I can find is the people calling me are doing so from an International #. Obviously this is disconcerting to me. Why is this happening and how can I fix?
I am getting calls that the ID says are from my name and number, but no msg is ever left and it is not possible for me to call myself like that. I posted a few days ago about this but never got a reply.

I am new to Mac...How do I get connected to a server on my network via a hyper link IP address path? When I try to open in a URL and login as a registered user with proper login it errors out saying there was a problem with connecting to the server?
Some of the following is going to use some technical terms — this area is inherently somewhat technical.
If you don't understand some part of the following reply, please ask.
Is this your own OS X Server system on your own network, or is this some other server within some larger organization?
You're posting this in the OS X Server forum, which is a software package that allows OS X systems to provide web-based and many other services; to become servers.
If it's your OS X Server on your network, then the network and DNS configurations are suspect, or the server is somehow malfunctioning or misconfigured. This is unfortunately fairly common, as some folks do try to avoid setting up DNS services.
If it's a larger organization and somebody else is managing the server and the network, then you'll probably need to contact the IT folks for assistance; to learn the network setup and DNS requirements, and if there's a problem with the server itself.
The basic web URL "hyper link IP address path" — without using DNS — usually looks something the following, where you'll need to replace 10.20.30.40 with the IP address of your server:

UptimeJeff has posted a URL that specifies the AFP file system; an OS X file share. That's used if you're connecting to an Apple storage service somewhere on your network. You might alternatively need to specify smb://10.20.30.40 or such, if it's a Windows file server. (There can be additional requirements for connecting to Windows Server systems, too.)
If there's local IT staff available here, please contact them for assistance. If these are your own local systems and your own local OS X Server system, then some information on the server will be needed. (If you're on a NAT'd network, you'll also need to get DNS services configured and working on your local OS X Server system and your network — you'll not be able to skip this step and reference ISP DNS servers here — or things can and usually will get weird.) -
OSB call to remote Web Service via https proxy and https CONNECT problem

I have a service that calls a web service on another server as a web service. This call is via https and the certificate validation raises no errors.
I now want this call to go via a squid httpd proxy on port 3128 on some machine. So I would like to use HTTP CONNECT (RFC 2817) proxying,. But when I set up this as a proxy, I am getting "Certificate chain" error messages. The certifcate chains is no different now from when I called without the http proxy, so what am I doing wrong? Does OSB support HTTP CONNECT?

This is of course not relevant if the callout were using CONNECT. In the CONNECT scenario, OSB would not care about XXX's certificate. -
Using Microphone & Earphones on G5 to connect via Skype?
Appreciate assistance on how to connect my Headphone/microphone such that I can speak with friends via Skype Software. I am able to do this without the using of the headset ( using built in system ) but when I plug it into the G5 I am not heard nor can I hear my friends. I attempted to sort this out via the Sy Pref.>Sound>switching from Internal Mic to Line In but that results in a 'dead' connection. My friend indicate I can be heard using the built in system of the G5 but with an echo. The Skype Software Web site suggest a headset and perhaps the problem of the echo has more to do with my friends Windows System. Regardless how does one set up the G5 to use this alternate route of communication?

I've the same problem. When I connect a microphone through the line-in I don't get any sounds recorded. Trying to set the correct device under system preferences doesn't change anything. The internal microphone does it's job like expected you see the volume in the system preferences when you speak but the line-in doesn't work. I've tested two microphones which where before tested on another PC, so it's not a defect microphone or something similar.
Did you solve the problem in the mean time?
