Calls between iphones

Someone told me that i could make calls between my iphone and another iphone without using minutes on my plan regardless of the other person's plan  Is this true?

Not true, unless specifically set up with your cellular provider. They may have been referring to iMessage as a method to send text messages to other iDevice users.

    First, check
    1. Settings > General > Restrictions: should be OFF > FaceTime: ON?
    2. Settings > FaceTime > FaceTime: ON?
ou can be reached by FaceTime at: your phone number?
If all the above are correct, see below:
FaceTime is available with iPhone 4 or latter, except those iPhones that were sold in the Middle East.
Can you tell us which iPhone model that has no FaceTime?

  • Are calls between iphone to iphone free?

I was wondering on how to use my iphone without adding to the expense

Calls between cellular devices use carrier minutes. Many offer free mobile to mobile, however that is up to the carrier. One advantage to using the iPhone is the ability to make Facetime calls if you are connected to wifi. Many carriers now are offering Facetime over cellular network if you are using iOS6. Using this however, uses your data. There are also apps like Skype that you can use over wifi as well, but to truly answer your question, calls between iPhones are not free.

Voice calling rates are set by carrier. My carrier gives free calling to other people on the same carrier. Check with yours to find out what your rates are.

  • Static during call between iPhones

    Hi all,
My GF and I both have iPhones and love them. Only problem we have is that my GF's phone has a lot of static when talking to me on my iPhone. She doesn't have static with anyone else, and we have tested this tons. I have also tested my phone for out going calls to make sure its not mine causing the problem. Nothing wrong with my phone when I call other cells or landlines. My GF has also replaced her phone and sim card.
Anyone else have problems iPhone to iPhone or have any recommendations?
    Thanks!

incompatibility with my provider (o2 Germany)
Maybe that. There's also the probability of bad network towers. In some areas you only get E and others you get 3G. The towers may have degraded over time and need maintenance. You can contact o2 Germany and report outages in your area, "unable to make calls", etc.

Generally not. Some service providers do offer that service though where you can setup X number of contacts and the calls between those numbers do not count as air time as long as they are local.

    Huh?
There is NO DIFFERENCE between calling another iphone and any other phone in the world.  Just dial the phone number as you would with any other phone.
Why do you think you would do something different?

  • Free calls between iPad users

What's the best App or software to make calls between ipad users???
And I'll like to know what is MobileMe exactly? Does it work on ipad???

Mobile Me works great. In a nutshell it automatically syncs your most important data (emails, contacts, calendars etc) to the web site and all your devices. The link will explain further but I just wanted to say I am a long time, satisfied customer. Many other companies have popped up in the past few years which syncing data of various kinds, mostly documents. Google also is great for syncing but I've never found a solution as simple and painless as MobileMe. Some people would rather manage it all themselves than pay $99 a year. I'm willing to pay it for the peace of mind. I get my money's worth. I'm on the move a LOT, use an iphone, laptop, iMac, iPad and sometimes friends computers. MobileMe has never let me down, never caused a headache, automatically replaced my data when my hard drive was wiped out. The service works great but it's a matter of whether or not it's worth it to you. Good luck.

  • Facetime between iphone and another smartphone.

are facetime over the cellular can be used between iPhone 4s with iOS6 and another smartphone with front camera?

The iPhone does support other video calling applications such as Skype and Tango which are cross platform. The integration isn't quite as nice but they work to call non-iOS users.
    Best of luck.

  • Call using iPhone failed

    Hey folks,
updated my iphone 5 and iPad 3 to iOS 8, when I try to call from the iPad using the iPhone, I get "call using iPhone failed"
oon the phine under FaceTime, I have the options enabled.
    any idea So?

I had this problem between my Mac and iPhone 5s. What is weirder is that I could place a call with the Mac, just not accept one. Reading through some of the docs, I noticed that it said "… same Wi-Fi network."
Now, when my Mac is on my desk, it is using a network cable connected to the same Airport base station as the Wi-Fi my iPhone uses. On a hunch I unplugged the network cable, using only the Wi-Fi on my Mac and it worked immediately.
So, make sure you are on the exact same Wi-Fi network (Not just that they are on the same base station — I have two setup on my Airport Extreme, one 2.4Ghz  and one 5Ghz to keep older and newer devices separate [yes, it makes a huge speed difference]), ANDmake sure your Mac (if you are using one) is not using a wired connection.

  • The Difference between iphone Unlock T-Mobile and iphone Unlock Free-Sim

As mentiond in the title my questions are:-
    - What is the Difference between iphone Unlock T-Mobile and iphone Unlock Free-Sim?!
    - Did they both work Internationally?!
    - For the Unlock T-Mobile should i use their sim or i can use any sim directly?!
    Thanks

Unlocked means unlocked and you can use any sim card and keep changing them and the phone will never lock if it is unlocked.
Sim free, means that the phone is sold at full price without a sim card, but the phone will lock to the first sim card that you put in it.  A sim free phone will work internationally, but you will have to use a roaming plan with your phone company because the phone will be locked, so you CANNOT change it to a local sim card.
If you have an unlocked phone, you can use it internationally by inserting a local sim card and the phone should then work and you won't have to pay increased roaming charges as you would with a locked phone.
If you buy a T-Mobile phone that is unlocked, DO NOT activate it with their sim card or the phone will lock to T-Mobile and you will have to approach them to get it unlocked.  Use it with another sim card straight away and it will remain unlocked.

  • How do I block a phone number calling my iPhone?

How do I block a phone number calling my iPhone, so it only hears a busy tone?

You cannot do this on the iPhone - this is a feature/service that must be provided by the carrier. Contact your carrier and ask if they can do this. In the US, for example, AT&T offers as part of the SmartLimits package.
