Can a plot line width be larger than level 5

When I programming in Labview 6.1, in the property of plot, I found the line width only have 5 level. In my case, I need a much thicker plot line than level 5. Is there anyway to realize increasing the line width beyond the 5 options provided in Labview?
Really thank you if you can help me.

You can programmatically thicken lines by creating a duplicate data plot that is offset from the original.  Then use the Plot.FillTo property node and fill between the original and the duplicate.
I back saved the example from LV7 to 6.1, but I have no way to test it on 6.1

  • Scatter plot line width

First off, I'm using the trial version of iWork '09. So I want to eventually put a chart into keynote to present to my colleagues, however, putting the chart up on a projector requires me to have a thicker plot line. So if I use a scatter plot, my axis' turn out great, but I cannot adjust the line's width. I don't want symbols, I just want a line connecting the points. If I use the line chart instead of the scatter, the x-axis displays "Untitled 1, Untitled 2" as the labels. I can't change them to the corresponding numbers which is annoying. I can change everything else fine: axis line width, font size, etc. Its just eh connecting line I'm having trouble with

Actually, found a roundabout way to do this. Have to use line chart and in the x-axis label, you have to insert your formula for what cells you want such as Table 1 :: B212:B912 and just set the category counter to only include one label every so many counts. Kind of a pain, but works. However, can't have only the few tickmarks (should be 5 labels and corresponding 5 tickmarks in my case, but I have 5 labels and 700 tickmarks), all are shown instead. It tacks all of the labels individually, but you can choose which ones are shown, but cannot remove tickmarks... Any ideas?

  • Changing line width for more than 5 chart series - Interactive Mode

    Hi,
Re: BI Publisher 11.1.1.6.0, Interactive Reports
I have a number of charts with a dynamic number of series based on the number of devices, cpus, network interfaces etc. on a particular system. Is it possible to change the line width for all series? I can change it for the first 5 series as per "Chart Plot Area" properties "Series[1-5] Line Width", however any subsequent series retain the default width.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jean

    Hello,
Which version of APEX are you using?
Go to your Flash Chart attributes - get into your series (click the icon) in the section of Series Query you'll find the maximum rows.

  • How can I set Line Width

    Hello,
When I print a PDF document with a 3D annot in "Illustration" Mode, I've got a bad printing. All lines are too thin and sometime hidden.
Is it possible to set the line width? where? in U3D doc or directly in pdf3d engine ?
I apologize for my bad english.
    Thank you for answers

I do not think it is possible in U3D - there seems to be no field setting line width in the U3D spec.
As to the "pdf3d engine" - likely no. I was complaining on this forum about similar problem with point size
(it can not be controlled and was changed from 1 pixel to 3x3 pixel in a new version of Reader)
and got the following reply from a man of Adobe (http://forums.adobe.com/message/1922684#1922684):
We try to adhere as closely as we can to published formats,
so as point size is not supported in U3D it is not displayed in Acrobat.
We have much greater influence over the content of PRC, so we can more quickly make improvements to that format.
The size of the points displayed by U3D was changed
    - but as U3D does not support point sizes, it is not part of the U3D supported elements.
It seems lines and points parts of U3D spec are less important to Adobe than meshes,
so many features are not supported (some limitations are documented, some not).

  • How can I increase line width on polar plot?

The lines plotted on a LabVIEW 6 polar plot (picture control) are very thin and do not show up well when printed. I would like to increase the line thickness (as can be done easily on the graph controls), but looking through the polar plot VIs, I cannot find any obvious way of doing this.

The polar plots basically use the picture control to draw the lines on a plot. To increase the thickness of the lines you would have to draw another line right next to the line. I'm sure this could be done, but would require alot of messing about with the drawing subVI's to draw all lines in duplicate.
Alternatively you could plot the graph twice, but the second plot has an origin 1 pixel out. This will double the thickness on the screen, but i dont know what it will print out like. See attached example in LV 6.0.
Another thing to try is change the plot colours. You can make the gridlines black (instead of grey), and paint the background white. This makes the lines show up much better. I will also include this in the same example.
    I hop
    e this helps you..

  • Why can't I open excel files larger than 500 kb?

Seems as though Excel files (.xlsx format) smaller than 500 KB's that are sent via email open just fine, but anything larger will not open. I'm not sure if this is a Numbers issue or an issue with the Mail app. Started happening ever since the iOS 7.1 update as well as a recent Numbers update (not sure what version of Numbers I was using before).

I will have this moved to the Numbers for iOS forum since your question seems to be about opening Excel files in Numbers on an iPad.

  • Chart Lines Dissapearing When Line Width Less than .38pt

I have a Line Chart with about 70 different series. As you can imagine, it gets pretty crowded. In SQL server 2005, I was able to set the line width to .25pt, but when I try to do the same in 2012, the lines disappear! The smallest line width that I can
get to show up is .38.....If anyone out there knows why this happens, I would really appreciate a hint. I've tried everything from messing with the markers to the empty point settings...
    Thanks

    Hi Scott,
I am able to reproduce your scenario that when the line width with less than or equal to 0.375pt, they will all disappear in the line chart in my test environment. Based on my research, it seems to be the particular render extensions which cannot display
the narrow lines in line chart. However, if we export the report into PDF, the all lines which narrow than 0.375pt will appear in the report. I think this is by design.

  • Line Width in Graph Report

    Hi
I am using Reports 9i to build a Simple "Line" Graph. But I am not able to adjust the Plot Line width if the report is printing more than 3 rows. For the first three lines I am able to change the line width using the Options in the PLOT AREA tab. Can anyone let me know how I can adjust the linewidth for all the lines that are plotting in my graph. Please note that the number of lines that are plotted will be dynamic and can vary
    Thanks in advance

    hello,
you might want to take a look at our graph FAQ here on OTN. goto otn.oracle.com/products/reports and click on Graph FAQ. there you will find answers to several similar issues. bottom line is, that you most likely will have to define this in the XML definition of the graph, rather than in the wizard.

  • How to create a map that is larger than the game in width and height?

    hi,
i wounder how i can create a map(not the design) that is larger than the game in width and height, part of it will appear in the main page and anther part you can move to it after you press the arrow symbol, but the map is just one image so i want put it in line and out line the game page, and the out line part includes buttons and symbols the player can use, but it will be in line and the other part will be out line when you press the left arrow or the down arrow, how i can do that?
and is that possible to animate it so when the player press the arrow, will give it action to start the animation in one sec, i know how to animate it if that possible but i don't know which code i will use for the mouse click with the arrow symbol, and how to use the same code in the same symbol to start anther animation depending on which part of the map is on?

I don't know a lot about mask and masked layers and how to work with the normal layers beside i will use some 3D graphics but not in the background, i will explain all this to you to be more clearly.
first i am using action script 3.0
    close ex,
    you have 2d map"image"  900*300 pixel.
this image contains some 2d symbols when you click will go to anther normal map (anther normal layer) so they must appear.
your game 320*320 px, and the place the map will show on 300*300, and there's basics objects will be in most pages including the page that show the map so i don't know a lot about how this will work with mask layers.
so you can only see the left side of the map image and what it contains, while there's two arrows one to the left and one to the right there's three cases here,
first when it show the left side(start from x:0 to x:300), the left arrow will not active when you press and the right arrow will start an animation that make the map image move to the mid side in one sec when you press.
in mid side (start from x:301 to x:600) the same left arrow will active when you press to send you back to the left side while the same right arrow will be active to send you not to the mid side but to the right side,
when moved to the right side the same left arrow will be active to send you to the mid and the right will not active when you press and depending on that,
first how to make the large image appear with the three sides in the same place without effecting the other objects "like disappearing them" ?
and the codes i need in the same left or right arrow symbol to make different actions with the same symbol when clicked depending on which part of the map is on.

  • Print the report on page has width larger than height and not landscape mode

    Hi,
I'm trying to print report on page (Width: 18cm, Height: 13cm) which the width larger than the height.
The problem is windows keeps changing the page oreintation to landscape and when I change it back to portrait its changing the width to 13cm and height to 18cm.
I'm using dot matrix printer to print the report, if i put Landscape , printer is printing the text in horizontal.
Already i have tried to setup the custom for on printer, and used custom page size but it is changing to landscape.
I need to print the report with out preview, direct print top printer, NO PDF....
    Thank you .....

    Hi Anil,
After testing the issue in my environment, I can reproduce it. When I set (Width: 18cm, Height: 13cm) as the Report Page size, it would automatically convert Orientation from Portrait to Landscape. Because the Orientation displayed is dependent on the page
width and page height of the report.
But in my scenario, the Orientation option just change the Width and Height sizes, it couldn’t affect the text rotation. I guess this issue can be caused by the printer and printer driver, please try to update them. Reference:

  • Large Multiplot XY Graph very slow to update visibility/color/line width changes

    Hello everyone,
I have an interesting problem for you all. I am trying to update characteristics of a large XY graph (3600 data points for each of 160 different plot lines, all on one graph) by reference and it's going incredibly slowly.
What I have set up is a system where mousing over certain other indicators and buttons will "highlight" certain groups of plots by making the plot lines a thickness of 2 instead of 1. Similarly, clicking other buttons will change plot colors or toggle visibility of certain plots. To implement this I have a subvi that takes a reference to the xy graph and, in a for loop for each active plot, applies the changes I wish to see made. The problem is that this takes over a minute to complete for just one update!! I'm supposed to be plotting new points every second, and mouseovers and button clicks can happen many times in a second, so this is obviously unacceptable.
I noticed that as I'm looping through all 160 plots in the subvi, the XY graph is updating, one plot at a time. My question is: Is there some way to keep the graph from updating until all the changes have been made? Or maybe some way of applying all the changes at one time, instead of using a for loop?
I have discovered that if I simply drag out a HUGE xy graph property node and do everything all at once instead of in a for loop, the changes appear instantly as desired. Is this really what I have to do to achieve the results I want? It is incredibly time consuming and unmaintainable to have a gigantic property node will all stages of the for loop being applied at once.
    Help is greatly appreciated!

    Two things you can consider:
    1) Defer Panel Updates.  Set to True before the Loop and False afterwards.  Speeds things like this up considerably.
    2) No way you can see 3600 points on a graph.  With this many plots I would consider decimation of the data to reduce the number of displayed points.
This works amazingly well! In my absolute worst case scenario it takes about 70ms to update all 160 plots for 60 minutes worth of data (3600 points) where as before it took over 240000ms. 70ms is obviously a huge improvement and I thank you very much, this is exactly what I was looking for.
Just as a side note, unfortunately I do have to display up to 3600 points, the end users want to see up to an hours worth of previous data (more even, if possible). Unless you are suggesting I should somehow cut out data, like 4 out of every 5 data points for instance? Part of the problem with cutting out points like that is that there are occasionally spikes in the data that consist of a single point. Cutting out data might remove these which would be a problem. The end users need to be able to spot these spikes when they occur. But perhaps a more complicated decimation that identifies outliers and plots them no matter what to ensure that the spikes remain and only decimate the remaining data? That could get tricky quickly, but doable I suppose.
Thanks for all the help guys, if anyone has any other methods they think might work as well, I would be interested in trying them too to compare, but Darin's solution will work great.

  • Can't change plot line style for chart

I am using LabVIEW 8.6. In my program, the user has the ability to enable or disable autoscaling for the x axis by right clicking the chart. I use a proprty node to turn the plot to a dashed line during an alarm condition. The issue I have is - if x autoscaling is disabled, the plot style is always solid for new data entering the chart regardless of the property node setting. If autoscaling is enabled, the line style changes as I expect.
Attached is a simple program that illustrates the problem. I don't know if I am doing something wrong.
    Any comments will be appreciated.

    Hi Dave,
I looked at your VI and I definitely see the behavior you mentioned.  However I believe this is expected.  The plot is actually still writing in the dashed line, however very compactly.  You can see this if you make your x range smaller(perhaps 0 to 10).  This shows the dashed line.  With autoscaling turned on, the graph is redrawn every loop iteration.  so the dashed line is easy to see when zoomed out.
I think a better solution for what you are trying to use plot color, line width, etc. Or if you definitely want it to do Line style, you can have it change line style to 0 and then back to 1 every loop iteration.  This will force it to redraw, but will add overhead to your code and slow it down slightly.
